So I just did once again JK because a stranger needed help and after finishing JK we went up.
We killed the boxes and what drops there? A Shield! We both were like LOL WTF while we just looked at the shield me wasting 10 confetti
We picked it up, I got it and it was a Rock Jelly Shield (4*). To make him somewhat happy I gave him 9k cr and 100 CE^^
Whatever, my question is what items can drop and how rare are they?
Anything, excluding boss rewards (Fang of Vog, Divine AVenger, etc) or Krogmo weapons. I'm not 100% sure about that, but i never saw one of those.
Well, I don't know if this is right, but I noticed that:

So, basically, the drops depend on the stratum theme. If it is FSC, that is fire and shadow, you will find shadow and/or fire based gears, piercing for RJP, elemental/shock for IMF, etc.
That's only my point of view for what I saw with my own eyes. I can't tell much, you guys can tell me/us if your drops follow the same pattern.
^Mm-hmm, that's how it works. A quick note, items are never a mob drop, only from boxes in appropriate stratum.
Before the Antigua and Sealed Sword were Jelly Gem rewards they could be obtained by item drops. That explains it (devs made them boss token weapons but didn't remove them from the possible drops).

I heard someone's guildie found a Gran Faust in a box, can't find the post now. It's confirmed you can find token rewards in boxes lol, i think it's in an item drops thread somewhere in the wikis section.
The last drop I got was an Ionized Salt Bomb.
Also JK means Just Kidding.
I got a Magnus from a red box and a Prismatech Alchemer MK11 from Jelly King
But yeah, anything really can drop.
There is no "Jelly King". There never was.
There is no sword called a "toothpick" in the game, either. Give it a rest.
I once got a Voltech Alchemer from drops, not sure WHERE I had gotten it from, but I believe it was during a Roarmulus Twins run.
Was rather confused when I found it in my inventory.
I've gotten a prisma driver after JK. I have also gotten a jelly helm from Snarby & a cold iron carver in FSC & ive seen scary skelly suit,Antigua in graveyard and a glacious in sprite room in FSC

OK, the level is called Royal Jelly Palace.
The Royal Jelly is a he, as shown by the pronoun used to describe him.
Royalty are kings or queens.
The Royal Jelly is the king of the jellies.
King Jelly would sound like his name was Jelly.
Thus, he is the Jelly King, being king of the Jelly tribe.
And it's easier to remember than RJP, and is useful for referring to the specific boss monster as opposed to the entire level (or levels of the whole mission).

Batabii is a quirky person. Certain things irk him enormously, namely the two things you mentioned. From previous conversations, i can tell you he is 28, and claims english as a first language. He has little tolerance for fools, or people who excessively try to stand out.
Frankly, Batabii is one of the knights I would really like to have an in depth conversation with, because while I have an inkling of some of his pet peeves, I'd love to know what is behind them. He strikes me as someone who rigidly adheres to rules and customs, and cannot abide by those who don't. He doesn't understand us anymore than we understand him.

A friend of mine got an Ash Tail coat from JELLY KING PALACE, and he sold it soon after we finished the run for some nice CE much to the jealousy of the rest of us. Man, if only JELLY KING was more kind to all of us in terms of item drops. Well, if he were, I'd be doing nothing but JK runs all day.

I was prepared to be angry at you, but your post is actually pretty astute. Except for the last sentence.
For the record, I don't always agree with ALL rules, mind you. For example, it's beyond me why the heck Spiral Knights will COMPLETELY BLOCK sentences with certain words in them and not just censor the offending word.
Anyway, in general, I argue for logic. Now, I can still joke and have fun, mind you, but I hate when people can't take ANYTHING seriously. And I generally hate "stupidity for the sake of stupidity" (like all these pointless spammy jim-dale or whoever threads).

I'm not sure about all this, but i got 2 1* drops before in clockworks tunnels (not sure what thye were) and just a couple weeks ago got a prismatech mk2 on a mission. btw, if u guys just finsihed the jelly king, u guys could have gone solo, so both of u got it. :P

I do Royal jelly runs everyday. I do it for the crowns. And the tokens.
I'm not saying this to defend Halandin, but I think he/she got "king" from the fact that there is an ice queen jelly as one of the bosses. There cannot be 2 queens, that would mostly defie the "This and that" logic. Also, the "This and that" logic can stand for many things. And the sex of one living thing is one of those.

And Alphasnake, people were calling Royal Jelly the Jelly King way before there was an Ice queen. The name was coined and stuck simply because it was easy to remember, and after one, ten, fifty people started using the new name it just sorta stuck. You could try to fit logic as to why the name appeared in the first place, but this is what it ultimately came down to.
The reason the game uses Royal Jelly and some of you say Jelly King in because of similar copyrighted characters from other franchises. I personally say Royal Jelly and RJP because that's its name and maybe 75% of the people I encounter on a day-to-day basis call it RJP, too. There is a Royal Jelly, Royal Core, Royal Jelly Crown, Royal Jelly Mail, Royal Jelly Shield, Royal Jelly Band, and Royal Jelly Palace and not a single Jelly King in this game, saying there is is incorrect. I'll need to check if the pronouns are neutral in the lore and I will edit this with the results when I'm able to do so.
Granted, I'm not going be anal about it and I've long since given up the fight to actively correct it, but I have learned an interesting fact about the usage of the terms: noobs and early 2*s tend to start off calling Royal Jelly "Jelly King", but as they become more experienced with the game and progress furthur along into the end-game into late 5* and beyond, they start to refer to it with it's actual name again.

I am not so sure of that. After the Snarby patch, but before the Punch/Vise patch, a BTS showed up in the AH. At the time there was quite literally no way to unbind one, so the only way an unbound one could make its way on there was for it to have dropped from a box.
What star level drops is determined by what depth you are, typically 1* will drop in T1, 1-3* in T2, and 1-5* will drop in T3. The last floor of a tier will sometimes net you a star level higher then is normally obtainable for that tier, the OP got quite lucky. Congrats. :)
What actually drops can be anything, but it seems heavily influenced on the strata/floor theme. Jelly gear and anti-slime weapons (Super Slime Slasher among others) drops a lot more commonly in JK and Slime floors than anywhere else, Fire inflicting weapons and Fire resistant gear drops more commonly in FSC, and Skelly gear can be found more easily in Undead themed floors and Graveyards... just as a few examples.

i agree with shadownxx, because whenever i got an item drop it was either 1-3*. the things i found getting dropped was 1.hot edge 2.needle shot 3.heavy hatchet. but nothing better. oh yah and a jelly helm at JK palce.
Please tell me you're smart enough to figure out that users create almost all of the content on the wiki and that anything that is not a direct quote from the game's text is not official lore, but rather player opinion...

Yes, I know. Even if the game itself does not refer to the gender of the Royal Jelly, as Alphasnake said there is a Queen, and it seems that background lore is sometimes made up the player base to fill in gaps in the mythology. We've got one jelly with gender, why not the other?
Because I've checked the lore and Royal Jelly is never referred to as a singular pronoun. It's always "Royal Jelly", "Royal Jellies", or gender-neutral pronouns like "they" or "this", implying that there are multiple Royal Jellies and you just kill one. There is no indication that that specific Royal Jelly is male or that slimes even HAVE a gender. There is absolutely no lore on the Ice Queen that I can find, but it might be safe to say that it doesn't actually have a gender and the knights just refer to is as female, if they give it a pronoun at all.

You have a chance of finding anything in a box. Rarity depends on star level I think (higher it is, the rarer).
