Alright, I'm going to start by saying that I'm rather annoyed at the buffs. I agree with OOO concerning the bomb buff, as it makes bombing for damage more viable over support.

However.

"- All handguns have had their damage increased by 10% and their charge attack damage increased by 20%"

No. This was not necessary. Some guns needed buffs, but Polaris? Blitz? Those guns were just fine without the buffs, and now you've made them absurd. The most powerful guns in the games didn't need to be made stronger. Instead, less viable guns could've been brought up to par. The fact is that percentage buffs across the board makes the strong guns even more superior to the weaker guns. Percentages make higher base damage guns increase more in terms of numbers than weaker guns, and that's a serious issue. We should've gotten selective buffs to certain guns, and not a complete damage increase. Also, as if my alchemers and needles were not one hitting everything with the charge already, right? I feel somewhat disappointed by this buff, though I'm sure pure gunners won't be complaining very much.

tl;dr: Sweeping gun damage buff was a bad decision.

It's because they made

It's because they made lockdown essentially F2P and it pisses them off that lockdown gets more playtime than PvE.

Get a guild team up, and get everybody to carry polarises. Then, we'll spam them at every opportunity. It may not be a good tactical decision, but it'll make people cry in rage. Also, nitrospam. Ohmygodno

I have an almost-perfect LD strategy that will possible counter Trollaris spam. Although I probably shouldn't reveal it to the public unless I want my own strategy turned against me. :/

Yep

My Polaris with VH vs Construct just killed a Gun Puppy with a 3-shot... while I was wearing Ancient Set. Whoa. xD (Though what killed them was the "tick" from the Shock, a 4th bullet had sometimes to be thrown, though)

Also, my DBB can be now spammed even more non-stop. It is scary even to me.

I sorta agree with OP

+1 Bombs needed the buff, maybe more.

I'm excited that they are actually maybe making the idea of a 'class system' more viable (while still not having classes).

However, the polaris is a "purpose pitch" and it's damage is largely irrelevant (meaning does not need a buff). TBH, the polaris would be a great gun even if it did ZERO damage (i wouldn't like that either).

Blitz buff: I'm fine with this. HOWEVER. If the blitz gets a buff, vana needs a phase 3 and phase 5 twenty percent buff to offset. Actually, i think a party of 4 vs vana, vana should get a 40-50% hp buff all around. Firestorm citadel takes so long, and then u slaughter vana in 3 mins, and the fun is over so quick. Just buff vana by 50% hp and give an extra token, more fun/reward for everyone :)

Well I was considering

Well I was considering switching out my Polaris for voltaic tempest just for my Lockdown Arsenal but nevermind now!
Enjoy my trollaris spam suckers!

But in all honesty I really do like the buffs. Now noobs will enjoy being a gunner/bomber earlier in the game, as being one early in the game prior to the patch felt inconvenient and it didn't contribute much to the party.

Walk into Haven. How many gunners do you see? How many bombers? Now how many swordsmen?

Why do I feel like the ones complaining about the gun buff are the ones who never tried pure gunner? Guns were horribly underpowered. In fact, the first time my guns felt like they were doing a good amount of damage was when I forked over several hundred CE for a +dam Med Gun trinket.

I don't know why you feel that way. Personally, I have quite a diverse arsenal, and I have gone "pure gunner." In fact, I'd say most of the people who have posted in this thread have gunner gear and a range of guns. Additionally, I'm not saying that guns are UP. I'm am saying that the gun buff itself was not implemented correctly. A total percentage buff to all guns is simply not the way to go.

The flat % buffs and a certain dev post I recently read somewhere kind of leads me to believe OOO might be close to releasing a major content patch as in T4 beyond the core.

The way they have made everything so easy for 5* players and all the attention they have given to balance lately would seem unnecessary unless we were getting close to widely available unexplored territory.

Polaris bullet size and speed should be nerfed, and the damage buff should be removed. Blitz should have regular attack buffed by 20%, and charge either not at all or 10%

TBH ImHHo, alchemer charge is such a RnG slot machine I doubt the charge buff will make a very noticeable difference.

I'm thinking that with max damage, a team of 4 people could blitz vanaduke down in less than 5 seconds per stage.

Just had a premonition of OOO doing a dark retribution-style nerf on Blitz.

I kind of agree with you.

I kind of agree with you. More people use polaris now in ld, which is annoying. And blitz is crazy powerful in pvp.

Alchemers sadly did not benefit as much from the increase. Most of the damage dealt by the charge shot is the shards, which count as normal attacks and do not get the 20% increase. It is still no where near as powerful as its sword counterpart, the brandish.

Hopefully this is just the first in a series of patches to balance guns.

The whole bomb and gun buff looks like added in last minutes before patch (which would explain all problems caused by unplanned change).

They finally realized that making update just to redo already existing content, that wont bring anything to current players will be just silly so they just added it to make us shut up and not complain about thing that we will all miss.

well i think that makes me the only bomber that thinks we needed more damage type bombs covered before we needed any kind of silly buffs~

i don't think this fixes much personally, but i guess we just have to wait and see what they have planned

@Pawn - If you buff vana to counter the blitz buff (strongest weapon in the game for single target) then you essentially make defeating vana with any other weapon harder and longer. If the problem is that blitz makes vana to easy then the correct answer is it shouldn't have been buffed in the first place.

@topic - I actually like the bufs on some weapons, but it wasn't necessary for all of them.

Blitz is OP and is by far the strongest single target weapon in the game with the exception of attacking constructs and slimes. The next closest (to my knowledge) is Fang of Vog Charge attack.

FoV Charge attack (all 4 hit) against neutral/weak target at d28 with no damage bonus = 1932/2260 + fire (if applicable)
Old Blitz Charge attack (all 15 hit) ... = 1815/3225
New Blitz Charge attack ... (20% increase) = 2178/3870

I was playing in a 4-man Vana party and I used to toss 4 waters and then proceed to FoV vana 2-3 times. But this time, I didn't even get to toss 4 waters before vana was dead on the ground.

Blitz was on the verge of OP before, now it is.

I agree with the original poster, a sweeping gun buff was a bad idea. I don't know if it was a bad idea for bombs since I only have 2 DPS bombs.
