While you have the GH upgrade quest accepted, the Vana payout is tripled and it costs nothing to go down the elevators for Vana.

They could also make an item to access the upcoming content, obtained by random chance inside another random chance item you could get by finishing arcade levels only... but it would be hard to access, so better put it too in mission mode because it would give better access to it while on Vana runs.
Oh, and to unlock the random chance item that contains the random item that grants access to the new areas you should use another item bought with the equivalent of at least 5-7 Vana runs!
