EVERY time i log onto the game, by the time i've reached the ready room i already have at least 2 whispers. Sometimes 3. Sometimes 5. I don't play very much anymore with my new job, and mostly just craft with my ME when i log in, or check my auctions, or check the auction house, etc. If i stay on for 5 minutes i've had 5 friends whisper me, 5 people who i'm just acquaintances with, and usually 4 more from people who i sorta don't like because they message me every damn time i'm on and have nothing i want to talk about.

To be honest it's sort of daunting to even log on when i know i'm not gonna be on for more than 5 minutes. Because i know inevitably i'm either gonna have to stay on for 20 minutes to be polite and respond to at least my friends, or i'm gonna just bolt and leave everyone thinking wth was that. It's the worst with my good friends from my guild. I feel like i'm letting them down for not having the energy/desire to log on and be social.

So my question is, does anyone else feel this way? I'm particularly interested to know if other...um...well-established players encounter this.

i can relate

Yea same for me too I like it a lot tho. I like when people take the time to type to you "hey whats up" when you log on. Makes me feel good that people are nice enough to say hello. Hope your new job is going good pawn sure miss ya in spiral.

Yes, I do feel like this

Yes, I do feel like this sometimes. Though I mostly get invites to runs (maybe that says something about the people on my friends list...) but yeah, it's a bit of an annoyance when, just like you said, I know I'm only gonna be on for 5 mins.

Not really for me...

I'm more antisocial, so for me, it doesn't really matter at all what others think.

Just tell them that you just camed to check on some stuff and that you're in a rush or something like that... As long as you're polite and they understand you, it should be okay. I think...

I have idk how many friends and i always get instead of a "hi" a "HELP VANA/JK PL0Z"...
I left my guild for that and removed most of them but still i hear those faint whispers...

SUNSHAAAAAAAAARDS

You still hear faint whispers? Stay away from mysterious statuaries and sinister pink crystals.

But seriously, sometimes I get that. In fact, many times I get that. I'm scared to log on sometimes.

Hmmmmm.

I feel like someone is watching what I am doing on SK even when I am alone, but nobody really talks to me.

@OP I agree. Its gotten so

@OP
I agree. Its gotten so extreme I can't even check the forums when I have already logged on. So I go on the forums for maybe half an hour then I play for a bit. If I don't make up some excuse my friends and guildies are like, Where have you been dude?

@Everyone who gets whispers

A massive friends list, and an active guild.
Random people greeting you? That's because they read the forums, and you are famous. I, personally, got recognized by someone a couple of days back as having posted on Psychodestroyer's thread 'SpiralSpy Help'.
If you are reading this thread, person who recognized my name: What did you mean, 'having a conversation'? With only one person? Please, do not take this as an insult, because it isn't.

Good Idea!

Bump this thread for me guys, it basically outlines an idea for a /DND option that would field all invite and whisper spam when toggled on. Sadly it has fallen all the way to page 15 on suggestion forums :)

I don't get this, even though

I don't get this, even though I'm a guild master. Mostly people are just saying hi on the guild chat.

Could it be because you keep

Could it be because you keep gifting players, or so I heard?

I had the saaaaaaaaaaaaaame

I had the saaaaaaaaaaaaaame problem when i played another F2P game years ago.

Eventually i just quit without even saying goodbye because the game sickened me so much on the overall quality (became way worse than TF2 and sK combined)

So yeah, i felt bad when i left but irritated by the game i played with them.

Joined Steam, added a couple of good friends from there, still play with them to date but on many more games and have way more fun

If anything, you gain friends and you lose friends but don't let a simple game ruin a good friendship (even if it is online)
