in the army/navy/airforce they get called in to certain places when they are needed in a war zone. so i was thinking in spiral knights if they called in about 10 knights at a time to fight a large force of monsters. then at the end a medal is given to the knight who revived the most, or who killed the most monsters and they also gain large amounts of prestige. but if u fail ur prestige goes down slightly. this is how the story would go:
the situation is getting worse. monsters of all shapes and size are gathering together in large groups to try and defeat us. they must be stopped. it is your job to make sure that they do not invade haven. if you and your team mates make it out safely you will be rewarded. good luck.
but there would be an option to decline. however this would also cause some prestige to be lost.
i think that this would also work better if prestige allowed knights to have more authority or better access to certain areas. maybe there could be certain privileges open to those with lots of prestige like better chances of getting better stuff in the prize wheel or something.

But it is lemony fresh
In all branches of the military, fire service, and federal agencies in general teamwork is the most important factor. There is no running off and doing something on your own as we do anyway, that gets you killed. This is not Call of Duty or one of your silly first person shooters and neither is reality.
Prestige is like age; it never goes decreases. I could make other comparisons but some of them may not be appropriate.
A more realistic simulation of military skirmish would be something like this where people fight each other, seeing as our average enemies are easy enough to defeat with only one or two people.
NUP. 10 Knights at a time would cause a lot of lag. Also only a medal for a reward? Declining should not cause you to lose prestige. I don't want to lose prestige for not wanting to play a ten knight lagfest party with no real reward. And having enough prestige to get into certain areas is rubbish. All current areas in haven have things we need in them, so this would require new areas to be made for no real reason.
