I think we are robots designed to act like humans.
What are we?
That's sad :( The Developers gave us a dark and ugly look. That is why monsters attack us because we are ugly.
No, but a Gremlin would shout out, "It's ugly! Contact the Air Force!."
As machines created to explore space we endeavor to identify all of life throughout the ceaseless void we exist within. We have no memory nor knowledge of our creators nor do we seek them. Our goal before crashing on Cradle was to explore space and find new forms of life. What was the point of this? Why were we looking for life? We have no information for these questions. All we knew was to explore and record. Around Cradle something happened to our ship, the Skylark, and our ship went down. Was it space pirates? A meteor? Whales? We have no information for these questions. Why were designed to look so silly? No information. Upon crashing onto Cradle we learned to slaughter the native life to survive and empower ourselves with improved equipment, improvements used to slaughter stronger native life forms at our leisure. Why are we killing them? No information. Obey commands. Kill them all. No questions. Gremlins may have the technology and ability to help our kind repair our ship to return to our previous objectives, though our goal has been focused to slaughter all native life indiscriminately except the taller robot people we call "Strangers". These beings seem to have no combat ability yet order us around to fight. Why are we taking orders while they sit back and watch? No information. Our superiors seem focused on researching the core of the planet, often referred to as "The Core". Very creative. Why are the native forms of life attacking us? No information. However, note that the Strangers have been around for a while and often avoid confrontation; they seem to hide behind us while the aggressive native life forms attack. Why not help us so we are out of the way? They may believe we are in league with their enemies, the swindling Strangers who hide in markets while others are forced to fight to survive. They profit at the expense of others in life and strength. We live under their leash yet without us they would be defenseless. We only encounter these enemies beneath the surface of the planet in their natural habitats, they do not come up to bother us on their own. Our forces primary garrison above ground in a small town referred to as "Haven", which refers to a safe area. Strangers are commonly found in this area where money is to be made and knights are willing to spend, as well as on safe floors in the Clockworks and in lobbies for missions. They are always there to make money from us yet are nowhere to be seen in battle. The original group of knights, Alpha Squad, supposedly entered into the core of the planet and became enveloped by it. How do we know this happened? We have witnesses and modules with diaries taken by members of Alpha Squad. How do we know these knights are real? Our superiors tell us so. We bend to their will because they are our masters yet do little more than point us where to go. Rather than focus on returning to previous occupations our superiors have decided to rescue Alpha Squad which was enveloped into the core of the planet, which they endeavor to open to free them. Why did Alpha Squad go into the planet? No information. They did it because they did. Therefore we must toil and labor to liberate knights which we assume exist based on the implications while slaughtering native life because they seem to be hostile. All we did was barge into their homes and set up our own bases, why would they be upset with us? We kidnap their kind, squeeze what we want out of them, then leave them to rot. We lock them up and turn away. We harass, slaughter, abuse, and destroy because we were told by someone taller than us who may be just as misguided as we are.
Or this could just be a game.
^I havent read a thing of your post but seeing the wall o text alone made me laugh the food out of my mouth.
Here's some direction, but I don't think the OP is as serious as I'd like them to be.
@ Luguiru
Yeah, not reading that wall of text :/ sorry.
I say, we the Spiral Knights, are pawns of Oprah.
The Skylark crashed cause its titanium core engine thingy exploded. Says so in a mission.
they should add mouth and nose accesories to the game so we cant least have a complete face \_(O_O)_/
WoW Spinex I thought no none was going to talk to you for while.. I guess your sorry thread worked. Althouh its kinda unforgivable thing
I hope you feel that when you read your LD is unbalanced thread again
Spinex said, "That's sad :( The Developers gave us a dark and ugly look. That is why monsters attack us because we are ugly."
Reminds me of VUX of Star Control...

http://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/VUX (Star Control Wiki)
"Many historians regard the encounter, termed "The Insult", as the single biggest mistake the Humans committed during the war. Captain Rand opened communications with a VUX commander, and when the commander appeared on the viewscreen, Rand made a disparaging remark to one of his officers about the VUX commander's appearance, unaware that the advanced VUX translator devices were already operating and relayed these words to the VUX captain. The VUX were incredibly offended, and cut off communications there and then. It is possible that Rand's comment is also the reason why "VUX" is sometimes treated as an acronym for "Very Ugly Xenoform." "

BTW, The Ur-Quan Masters (a port of Star Control 2) is FREE... 3DO released its source code to the community a long time ago.

It's a GREAT game. Go check it out!
If you wear a jelly helm can't you see your face?
We are Daleks.
That is all.
/exterminate
WE ARE ALL MODELED AFTER THE GREAT FROCUS! RULER OF THE PLANET WE CAME FROM!
the only thing i know is, thanks to the danger mission i have realized that in fact, we have mouths....
and if almirian, that used to be like us knights can be turned into undead , then we are organics and cuddly beings
I had the Fry meme pulled on me....
The protuding "Nose" is actually has avove it the nose and it's the mouth.
And I'm on my knees looking for the answer...
Are we human, or are we dancers?
i always thought we were human, but that our faces are shaded by our visors...
EDIT: But then, why do our eyes glow?
Robots have no sense of humor.
Oh wait...
According to the Almirians, we ARE organic beings.
But what kind remains unknown.
robots cant get poisoned....
Venom Veiler works just fine on constructs for me.
we are sentient humanoid robots, aka transformers from the transformers movie.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanoid_robot
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentient
also know as androids, we live to know all the information the universe have to offer. the best way to do this is to interact and conquer any opposing life forms. we also try to expand our military power by setting up bases down into the clockworks. we are a race build to rule all other life forms. gremlin and Devilite ( know as intelligent life forms in the game ).
our goal is to get access to the power in the core and use it to remove ourselves from the planet called cradle which we will probably re-visit.
to do this we must apprehend any creature that shows any sign that they might know a way into the core.
that is al the info we need to take over cradle. :D ( happy hunting )
extra info:
-these life forms are closely related to these guys which are probably familiar to u guys. :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_(fiction)
Spiral Knights are probably organic life forms.
But that's not what you asked. You asked what we are. As far as I know, we are human. Unless you're some kind of robot or an extremely dexterous elephant.
If we were robots, we wouldn't need armor. Therefore, we must be some type of alien. And remember chef biscotti? Well, if we were robots she wouldn't have to be a chef cuz she wouldn't have to cook.
We aren't human because our eyes glow like crazy!
If we were humans that would ruin the game for me. Why? Because this would be the same old "human exploring the galaxy" or "humans fighting aliens/fending off creatures on a strange planet" kind thing. I hope we are at least some kind of alien robotic creature or something.
its obvious que aren´t humans, just humanoid black faced big-headed, big-handed aliens from isola, im not saying we are aliens, but we are aliens...
My hypothesis is that we are robotic beings, mainly due to the fact that our armor has no feet.
Logically we stil could be humans, whose armor just makes it look like we have no feet, and who wear glowing goggles so our eyes can glow, but why would we do that? It would be silly. Unless we are humans pretending to be transformers. But we do not transform, therefore, I have wiped being transformers off our list.
Therefore, I can logically conclude that we are most likely robotic beings, we have a small chance of being human, and a 0% chance of being transformers.
Midgets in disguise.
How else would you explain my ability to transform into a box? The wooden frame on the outside is just for show.
Like I said b4, Boswick was drinking a can of soda when he created us, Therefore, We are soda cans...
We are biomechanicle beings. Half mechanicle, half organic. I thought that was common knowledge?
Well i was human last time i checked so im gonna go with we are humans
Try to imagine that you doesn't wear a helmet. I think we are some sort of alien.
On a more serious note from my last post, I sort of feel less like they are robots nowadays. In a couple of the missions, it's been noted that the Gremlins dismantle/break their captives armor. If we were robots, why not just go beyond that and reprogram their captives or fully decommission them to the point beyond repair?
Not to mention, the knight's seem to be able to die in the sense that they can leave souls/spirits/ghosts behind. So I would lean to something organic.
why are we still philosophling aliens
stop it
I never said Spiral Knights were human. I said they were probably organic.
Nothing but a miserable pile of secrets.
