Hi there, so now I have 20 Jelly Gem and I need to decide which weapon to buy. Problem is that I have Silent Nightblade for shadow damage and Prisma Driver for elemental damage. As Antigua and Sealed Sword when upgraded are doing shadow or elemental damage I don't know which one to choose...I want to listen to your opinions guys. Thanks =)
Antigua vs. Sealed Sword.
...they're completely different weapons.
Antigua lines are fast weapons that offer a great deal of mobility, fast bullets and a clip of six (larger than any gun save the Autogun series). The fully upgraded versions also have epic charges that do a helluvalotofdamage when combined with a Vortex-type bomb, but that's not all that relevant. Both Sentenza and Argent Peacemaker are good, easy-to-use sidearms for a sword-user. They have good DPS when used properly.
The Sealed Sword lines are both heavy, two-swing swords that have a great deal of knockback and split normal-specialised damage. Despite what the in-game speed bars may say, Gran Faust is not faster than Divine Avenger - they have exactly the same attack speed. Both are slower than the Brandish-line Silent Nightblade you currently have. As a result, they may take some getting used to.
The Divine Avenger is the elemental-damage one. Whilst it has no status on its charge attack, it more than makes up for this with the three large projectiles that can deal an epic amount of damage in the right circumstances, and have enough knockback to fling Lumbers across the room. It is excellent at dealing with oncoming hordes of Undead, and is popular in FSC.
The Gran Faust is the shadow-damage version, and is generally considered inferior to the Divine Avenger; whilst it possesses the ability to inflict Curse, this is only available on the second swing of the combination (which may leave you open for attacks if you use it) and the charge, which may curse the user (and will do so at the worst possible opportunity). Please note that the charge time is also INSANELY LONG. Its charge ability makes it highly coveted in RJP and its Shadow Lair variant. However, if you plan on using it solely for RJP then I would strongly advise to leave it at its 4* version, the Faust, which has a much shorter charge time on par with Divine Avenger.
Since you currently have a Shadow sword and Elemental gun, I would recommend you go for the option of the Sealed, with intention to upgrade to the Divine Avenger.
Faust Line= More Damage, tendency to Curse user and enemy [DARK]
Avenger Line= Divided Damage to Projectile, No tendency to Curse user[ELEM]
Antigua Line= Practically the Blackhawk Damage affects =Gremlins and Jellies best as the Silversix Damage affects =Constructs and Undead best. Both Antigua Lines are great for long range shooting. BH = DARK SS = ELEM
Good help?
Well I chose Faust and Silversix. Both useful. The Faust curses the Jelly King and The SilverSix spams Roarmulus. But... I'm still not good enough to solo both bosses :P
Use BH on elemental-best-damaged monsters, they might be not that useful.
Use SS on dark-best-damaged monsters, same thing.
Both do great damage on their monster type alignment but if you switch it they become pretty much useless. It doesn't much do for swords cause Faust does about 200+ dmg when it hits LVL5+ I think.
It really depends on what you want, since you already have a sword that deals shadow damage I dont really think you would need a faust. So if you do get a sealed sword you should go for the divine avenger, you should also know that the da is a bit slow and both the charge and normal attacks will cause knockback. it will also do more damage then the antigua line. And thats what i would pick.
Now between the Senteza And Argent Peacemaker, i would go for the senteza, even though i consider the ap to be More usefull, you already have an elemental gun. Here are some pros and cons:
-The Senteza Could be used for pvp
-Has a large clip
-the shots are fast which makes it hard to dodge
- its also good against gremlins due to the damage bonus it has.
-Awfull charge, Leaves you vulnerable most of the time.
On a side note.
Do you have any piercing weapons? if you dont you should really consider making one before you make another shadow or elemental weapon.
I wrote a bit about how useful these are in my assessment of everything: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/61167
It is better due to the fact it can randomly inflict statuses
Use the Jelly Gems to buy Rock Salt and sell those on the auction house to further upgrade your Silent Nightblade and Prisma Driver.
