Well...
I agree and I disagree. Yes, those gates tend to be boring and uneventful, but there are two reasons why we might want to make pure gates:
1) To see what's in them, I never knew of Arena or Scarlet Castle until the pure Crimsonite gate was made.
2) To stack several areas with one type of enemy, could be useful if you're looking for a specific drop.
Eventually we'll be able to tailor gates exactly the way we want them, so while it might waste some time, it's not a useless measure.

Moonstone gate!
I personally would like to see what we get with a Moonstone only gate, I see there is atleast one gate in emberlight that is getting filled up with almost nothing but moonstone, should be interesting to see!

Dantez2, There is already a pure Valestone/Luminite (green/yellow) gate made and open. Look for the Emerald Clover gate, that's the one. It generated the Clockwork Tunnels: Overgrown Path. It's the one with lots of wolvers :o
Unless you mean a a pure Valestone gate and a pure Luminite gate, then you can just ignore my post :P

Once again... RED FOR RED!
Everybody! Another Roby gate has appeared! I believe it is a Ruby King, or Queen, not sure exactly what it is and so I will simply call it a crown (also for the sake of newbies). We should start another red-for-red campaign. For those of you who do not know what that is, we try and throw only Crimsonite (red mineral) into a given gate, this time being the purple chess piece one with a red background (currently the newest at the far right).

I realize some people will not be overly fond of doing this...
I realize some people will not be overly fond of doing this Red-for-red thing again, because we've already tested pure Crim. Yet I think it's because we've tested red that we do want to do it again. I'm pretty sure this gate was a favourite (in parties, usually) with all the arenas, followed by awesome amounts of Heat, Crowns, and Materials (e.g. the elusive Flame Souls).
I would rather consider this gate an exception to the usual planned gates we've been doing lately. It will be a gate that we know is going to turn out great - one meant for simply having fun and making crowns. It's not like every single gate that appears has to be planned for something we have yet to test. Who knows, maybe when one of the current planned gates is constructed we will have yet another favourite.

I have never seen such a red gate. Although I am sort of getting sick of arenas, to be honest... they can get immensely frustrating alone. But, I guess it's worth the heat and crowns in the end.
I propose we try and make a completely balanced gate. Have we ever intentionally tested this before? My hypothesis is that it will have a lot of Treasure Vaults, but who knows.

Never thought of it myself...
I'd like to give that a try, I think. We'd have to always make sure to put in the same amount of minerals and Dusk Drops, but I think it could work.
My only concern is what happened with what was supposed to be the Pure Luminite gate, where some people got pissed that they couldn't put their Moonstone anywhere and crammed it all in there. We need to make sure people don't pull that stunt again if we're ever going to get a completely balanced gate.

It doesn't matter when people
It doesn't matter when people "cram" their stuff into a gate. If you're planning on creating a specific layer around emberlight-core, it only matters what you put in there along with a Dusk Drop, or in the end when the last 2 rings are formed? Everything else is just fill-up to be sure it reaches the core in the first place.

True. It's still nice to see a totally red gate, though, perhaps so that other people get some subconscious hint of what to put in. I've been throwing in Dusk drops now with every load of 100+ Crim I see (where's it's winning, of course). I'm pretty confident this gate will turn out at least as good as the previous pawn one.
As for the rainbow gate, it looks like that Silver Wolf gate is pretty rainbow-ish right now. Maybe it will be easy to get passes from this one when it's constructed.
