Frankly, I'm tired of going through all the threads of people bashing each other. I know things have been crazy and a bunch of us are all up in arms about a combination of things. I know for one, I haven't exactly been the nicest person when it comes to talking about certain topics, so when I say all this I am directing it to myself as well as many of you.

I want to try to make this thread a more of... constructive criticism thread than a... bashing everything in the world thread.

If you aren't sure what constructive criticism is, it's where you positively give your input on things that might need to be changed. I know, and don't expect, everyone to be happy rays of sunshine. Someone is going to come in here and try to get everyone riled up and arguing. Please don't take the bait. Just don't do it. The task at hand is many of us aren't happy with how some things have turned out recently.

So please refrain from calling anyone "loyal dogs of three rings" or even "forum police" or "entitled" or "ignorant" We all have our own strengths and weaknesses and we all enjoy different things. The good thing about different view points is that we can get new perspectives on what could make the game more interesting to us again. Some people are still in the "new player" stage and haven't quite worn out on the game yet. We are all looking for different things from the game.

That being said, I think we can all agree that we enjoy this game and we care about this game and where it is headed. Some of us have invested time and even our money into the game. We WANT the game to do well. If we weren't raging like we were then that's when three rings needs to worry, because that suddenly means that no one cares enough to rage. I hope we can all agree on this. We care enough about the game and what happens to the game that we will get just a bit emotional about certain things? right?

Now... no matter how many times Eurydice will come in here and say "three rings takes everything as suggestions" or something of that nature.... we are all human here and I know I tend to listen to people better if someone isn't so harsh with me and angry. One thing I've learned about life thus far is that when you approach an issue maturely and calmly and willing to listen to all sides with an open mind, then people (most of the time) are willing to listen to your side.

This is what I propose...

If there was something that we could have or change RIGHT NOW in the game what would we want that to be? You don't have to give an in depth description or anything. Just bullet point your list. I will say... as much as many of us would like to have the old RSS back we need to face that they won't change it back. We might though... get them to implement something of that nature in the game if we make a good suggestion on how we would like to see the old RSS changed, just my thought take it or leave it. make the list as long or as short as you want it.

my list from most to least:

-Guild/guild hall updates
-things added to the core
-stun fixed
-t3 boss (i would LOVE a sleep t3 boss with whole new levels)
-the old RSS introduced in back into the game but with some tweaks, shorter range, bigger blast point, and more shards (lower damage per shard to balance it. Too big of a suggestion for me to explain further.)
-being able to have actual gender specific stuff
-new expansion pack (hopefully where it can be giftable but I'm assuming they haven't released a new expansion pack because they are working on the gifting with steam and non-steam thing)
-better chat options
-new shields
-more missions to the mission system

That's just a few of mine. lol.

I wish there were more people with your mentality. Mainly I just wish there were more people understood "my opinion =/= your opinion" and that insulting someone during a argument/discussion doesn't make your point stronger, it just makes them look like a bully.

I want...

-Better guild hall designs/upgrades
-Krogmo Coliseum waiting lounge, spectating games and more mods, like the ones I suggested.
-The Core, we've been waiting this for very long time, we need to expand further. o.o
-Buffing the new released bombs.
-Make new equipments and weapons
-A better customer service/support portal, serve 'em with a smile! :D

Hopefully everyone can do the same.. :x

To have a t4 would be interesting... I wonder how they would do that if they did... It could put a whole new focus on the game... I always thought about making a tier for every star level, which could add more missions and bosses.... but don't know how that would work out.

Being able to view the pvp games would be cool. I know I learn a lot from recorded stuff on youtube, but to see it all actually in action. :D I wonder if we could do like a guild tag teaming.... hahahahahaha....

I would also like to see a new pvp game besides lockdown and bn. Maybe bring superbrawl back or like.... a shooting range for people who can be rated on aiming. Like.... monsters pop out and they have to shoot and can score points for accuracy and amount of monsters they hit. :D

bows. YES. bows... and jetpacks... just so i can shoot my bow while on a jet pack... okay now i'm being a bit silly.

Right, I forgot something.

During the Solstice Promo Event, I suggested something like having a custom-created background for characters upon inspection, we may have auras, but maybe it'll be awesome, just maybe, if we add some personal weather effects shown only in equipment arsenal for others to kink on, some background themes, and lots of stuffs.

For instance, I spoke about the Solstice Promo Event right? How about giving a winter theme? or sunny? ehehe..

I think it's for those who crave for this. heh.

(by the way, does this seems.. going to be onto the suggestions later?)

-Clockwork/Arcade revival!
-Events in haven which would involve the community
-Guild Halls improvement!!!!!
-Wish they had PvP with vanilla settings, LMB=Slash RMB=Shield.
-Weekend RvB large scale wars with a cool background story, crown sink fees and rewards.
-New bosses
-T4
-Fill as much new content before opening up the core. :P

-Not only Guild Hall improvement, but the whole Guild concept in this game should be reconsidered. Right now it's useless.
-Free-for-all Lockdown, and eventually a new PVP mode.
-Different rewards in Lockdown, bombheads only fit BN.
-Make ranking in PVP worthwile. Prize for Top players or whatever.
-Make the Arcade worth visiting. For instance, make the first stratums profitable.
-Official events and on a regular basis please. PVP tournament, Monster invasion on haven, I dunno, you get the idea.
-Real co-op gameplay, but I believe this is work-in-progress.
-An actual decent french translation of the game.
-Less elitism, cause let's face it, elitism on such a simple game is downward ridiculous. (Ok that's not up to 000)

- Make updates that will be directed towards whole community of players, instead of updates that are directed towards group of players (like buff xxx, nerf yyy weapon/item...)
- more clear and user friendly chat system, one possible solution ex. Tabbed chat system
- OOO should direct more efforts to make arcade main part of game instead of missions
- fix whole mess with OOO encouraging players to exploit old shard bomb recompensation

Stop unnecessarily removing

Stop unnecessarily removing things from the game, then saying you will retool them then never actually do it
Stop unnecessarily adding or changing things nobody has a problem with, for no reason, that somehow always end up unfairly benefiting the same small group of people
Reinstate your community presence and stop being afraid to be more vocal about changes. Not saying everything you mean to leads to forum meltdowns
Work on correcting all of the redundant behaviours encouraged by your presumably half-finished updates (people needing multiples of the same accessory for different costumes of similar colour, etc.)
Tone down feature implementation and start working on things you can do with the ones you already have.
Actually consider removing CE revives from certain parts of the game in order to stop trivializing your own content
Rework pre-existing bosses so they better represent the ideals you originally presented for the Tier system (Tier 1 for beginners, Tier 2 for majority play, Tier 3 for Raid Content), rather than adding things like DLC and Shadow Lairs that serve no real purpose beyond making people pay money or making a Tier 4
Seriously consider removing the Core from the game until you know what to do with it.

-Hold a large company meeting in which you discuss the ways you tell the forums/game things. Consider what it would be like to be a player and receive no response back to your arguments regarding the radiant sun shards, and plan ahead so that next time you give more than a "Yeah, it doesn't fit guys." Then, have your art team work on new promotions for the CE market that will fit future updates. For instance, limited edition guild hall items if you are doing that next. Immediatly explain the ideals of limited edition, and switch to that. Add a notion that "its the last of its kind" to certain in game items such as valkyrie wings, implying that they will never be released again. Then, release appropriate CE promotions alongside the apporpriate update. For instance, "Hunter" does not have anything to do with "New Shard Lines!". Why not instead create some kind of "radiant aura", and perhaps a "mineral hat" or something of that sort? It looks terrible when you "Try to cover up removing the bombs" with promtions, whereas you could have given better reasoning for that update, and then gone on to release somewhat better bombs for it, and then people would have been more accepting. However, you didn't listen to people on the testing server as Rawrcake says elsewhere, and you did not fix their problems. Also consider hiring someone to write things for you- I would be glad to write your announcements in a way that the playerbase would understand for free, I could even send it to you for review, and I'm sure that others would do the same.

-Guild Hall Update+Arcade Fix: The idea of having 'guild hall gates' makes it somewhat necessary to fix the arcade prior to launching a guild hall update. What is broken about the arcade, you ask? It pays out worse than pure boss stratums, and it is far more fun+exciting. This should not be too hard to do.

-Begin a massive rebalancing project aimed at making certain items usable. This should include fixing stun before giving it to every bomb in the game, and should go all the way to making all items "have a place" in the game that actually functions. This should also rebalance the lockdown leaderboard system- making it less of a "who played the most" and more of a "who is the best".

-Re-add all old content that was taken out "until a later date". These are things like tortodrone, sleep, etc.

1. Make Haven cycle through

1. Make Haven cycle through day and night (though it would be awkward depending on where you live), as well as add storms and snow during winter (like last winter). Looking at the same boring old bright, happy, creepy Haven isn't fun; a little rain here and there would be nice. Not that weather would really make sense, but it would make it.... less... not interesting.

2. Add more gremlins in Emberlight. Emberlight is the town of outcasts, but apparently there are currently only like... 3 outcasts of the Crimson Order.

3. Do something more with the Owlite Scholars. Not bring them back since they have been dead for a long time because of the Kats or whatever, just make some more background behind it and possibly add more items / artifacts with some flavor text about them. A description or something that would tell how they look would be nice, specifically.

4. Get rid of the Starlight Cradle levels appearing in normal Lichenous Lair levels. Those should be saved for when you add Sloom back in......

5. More artifacts that give more lore for SK. They don't need to be rare or anything.... just obtained only in the Arcade. I want people to have a reason to go back to Cradle instead of Missionland.

6. And yeah. Do something that makes the Arcade have a reason for anyone to go there. It doesn't have to be a big reason, but.... I am tired of not being on Cradle. Missionland is a pretty boring planet that doesn't change like Cradle since the missions are always the same every time you do them. I don't like Missionland. I like Cradle, that is what we are supposed to be doing: freeing Cradle from the swarm and Crimson Order that corrupted it according to echo stone. I will never be convinced that missions take place on Cradle, they are so dull and do not fit the lore.

7. Let us "get rid of" Biscotti. I mean wtf. Let me guess, does she create more creepcakes to try and kill us next SK anniversary?

Thank you Dancinjen for that whole talk, I really wish everyone could just understand that, i read it word-for-word :)

As a dedicated bomber from the start of my SK playtime, I can say I love the new shard bombs. I bever really felt like a bolber when i used the old RSS, but thats just me. I think the new ones just needxa few tweaks and theyll be gold!

I'll start with the new shard bomb tweaks on my list, but move onto some other things too :D

Suggestions:

New shard bombs {More damage | Faster secondary shard detonation | Larger secondary shard damage radius | Remove all secondary shard knockback, and replace it with knockdown | At 5*, spawn an additional ring of 4 shards closer to the center of the initial bomb's placement | Appearance- have the shard fragments orbit the bomb in an offset fashion at 5* and apply a bit more of a tarnished and grainy detailed texture that fades to pale at the crystal's base.}
Give the Troika series an almost definite chance of "knockdown" and a longer swing range, by length and width.
Fix stun (on the way!)
Iron-Slug buff? [Or an idea! see below]
Add a gun that functions just like the current magnus, but instead fires a wide spray of shots! welcome to the shotgun of spiral knights! | As for the magnus, give it a 3-shot piercing clip, that causes you to walk much like the antigua, and have the charge shot be a narrow 3-shot spread.

I feel like its a tremendous waste of my time, when I could attempt to instead write something else.

Last test of new shard bombs were supposed be to gather players opinions and what? It was just excuse to open test server and make some players spend 10$ + just to get access there.

Want a petition? There is already one with almost 10 pages. Only thing that happened to it was moving from general discussion to suggestions. Thats how they care for our petitions and players opinion.

I feel the biggest issue facing OOO success is OOO themselves.

Not in illogical or poorly implemented changes/updates, although those often times do not help. The biggest issue facing OOO seems to be a pervasive "I CAN'T" mentality. The first answer to any question is "we understand your frustration (this is condescending, I might add) . . . . . . Sorry we can't."

The entire customer service interaction is a long series of "NO.". It is the default, stock answer. In many support tickets it is incredibly obvious the support ticket was not even read completely, or if it was, they made no effort to fully comprehend the message it contained. Where the return ticket completely misunderstands what you have said.

But it goes deeper than just the first line of defense being a flat denial or refusal. It comes to a mindset of customer service over all else. Yes Walmart is evil and has destroyed downtown America, but it us also amazing in its customer service efforts, and that is a huge part of their growth and continued success. LiTtle things like honoring nearly any return no questions asked, this is synonymous with the name Walmart.

And that is my biggest complaint and the greatest area for improvement in spiral knights. I don't say this in an emotional rage, as state it calmly as a simple undeniable fact, and one that confuses me. I have never seen a company with a larger commitment to Customer Disservice than such interactions as I have with spiral knights. I have not received a single solitary response in a support ticket that was a positive or satisfactory experience. Nor do I get the impression that they care or have made a real effort to help.

I won't say I ha e never received a satisfactory end solution, because I have, but even those experiences were ultimately negative as I had to fight tooth and nail,reopening my closed tickets repeatedly to get them to do the common sense thing. ItS like moving a mountain to get them to do the smallest help, ones that should be a no-brainier "oh yeah, that, not a problem.. Btw, thanks for your patronage to our game. We appreciate your time and support."

They should take a common sense WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU mentality. They should work hard to be our partner in the game. They should consider every problem or support ticket a chance to build customer fidelity, an great opportunity to make each player feel special. I can't should be the last possible solution after every other avenue has been exhausted. They should shoulder the burden in a situation that it harms them none and cripples the player irrevocably if they decline.

A simple example:

I really want a CTR VH crystal bomb. Please make my next roll get it, or sell it to me directly.
Answer: sorry we can't do that. It would be unfair to the player base since won't do it for everyone. Also we do not sell UVd gear. ( insert niceties here.). Perfectly legitimate denial.

Hi, I just recently paid 24k CE to buy a VH CTR RSS for which I used solely on undead and constructs. In light of the new changes, it had now been rendered useless as it is pure piercing. I graciously request that you swap this out for a VH CTR heavy crystal elem bomb to put me back in the position I was in before this unexpected change.

Answer should be:
While we it is our policy not to switch any weapon for another, in this special case we will accomodate you request. We understand that we changed both the nature as well as damage type of this bomb, and that could ruin your investment. We do not want any players game experience to be ruined by our necessary development changes. Please enjoy your new VH CTR heavy crystal bomb. You will find that your RSS has been swapped out.

Have fun and happy bombing. Thanks for all your support.

This would make for such a better gaming experience than politely telling someone to go,pound sand. It'd not force the player to absorb all the collateral damage of a mistake on their end (or even the players given a different situation). It would create a loyal customer.

As a business, your greatest most desired asset is not cahflow, it's customers as they are the ones that control that cahflow. And let us not forget the 80/20 rule. 20% of your customer base generally creates 80% of yor profits. Those 20% being your loyal customers, thus the need to create customer fidelity at every turn.

Tl;dr
Too bad :)

P.s.
The reason the "I can't" mentality is so detrimental to their cause --aside from the obvious-- is because I can't merely means I WON'T! It is insultive because majority of the time you know they darn well could (even should) and it would take just as little effort to help,you as it did to thumb out a polite refusal.

We can all agree you did in fact have a CTR VH RSS, I am not accusing you of lying or anything only making a point. I just doubt they would ever take anyone's word for it without any proof.

- More T3 dungeons
- Rank missions and so Core development and etc.
- Maybe another boss like hum, blocking the entrance to the core, *bleh* i don't know with another type of levels
- And not being TOO much an as* would you guys please agree on a Gunner set from shadow lair stuff? D:
- AND NO MORE ACCESSORIES RELEASES BEFORE CORE STUFF!

yes, they could take note of the the VH ctr (now peiricing bomb) that i have in my inventory. there logs should be adequate to determine i already owned it. as they were adequate to determine i owned it when they completely ruined its purpose, by switching it to the new bomb.

A huge re-do of arsenal icons and statuses and descriptions and stuff (GF showing wrong speed, some not having descriptions, and oddly colored icons)
A huge bug check and fix
More gear options for bombers and gunners
Polaris and FF nerf and a cap on health in LD
New T3 boss which isn't laggy, insanely hard and has same profit as FSC, basically being on par with it giving players twice choices for "grinding"
Improved chat
Some armors getting textures adjusted so they fit their theme better

+1 to this thread and Jen for making it. Now let's hope OOO reads and considers it. :)

I understand the frustration I'm right there with you guys on this. That's why this thread was made. Because we care about this game and we want to see this game do well. We rage and rage because we care, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I agree with the majority of this actually. I'm glad people legitimately put their thoughts and wants in this. I don't know if they'll really look at this thread but it's here.

I'm going to move this to suggestions now. :)

More arcade content.
Better arcade content.
Achivement rewards.
Make Subtowns more like towns.
Add more challenges into the arcade, from intercting with NCPs in the town and subtowns.
More subtown variation.
More love for bombers.
More PvP(with Bomber super brawl).
Fix stun.
Fix the energy wall problems(atleaast show a scroll feature to see other bids!).
More friendlier system for newbs.
Harder content.
More scenario rooms which actually help with lore(not juat vague hints that don't make sence, create a level which has several which create a new storyline)
Bring back several removed content.
