Even after all this time, still it is a hot topic, and many questions are floating around unanswered yet by the developers:
- Should we get the original Crystal Bomb back?
- Should it have some changes on it if it did?
- What are "bombs" really? Are they only fitting for AoE damage?
These are just three of the most asked questions about this issue that has risen since the latest updates. Even I am quite confused about this situation and how could have OOO thought of totally removing a bomb instead of tweaking it. I, at least, think it was a mistake and we should get it back, even if it is changed a bit to avoid:
1. The "Claymore" effect. Though it IS an important aspect of the bomb. Maybe we could have a bomb like that made?
2. The "infinite" range. Which may not be so horrible as it is one hit only, and spamming it wasn't that fast compared to most guns.
This topic may work as a way to discuss the issue, as well as linking to the petition for giving us the original line back, and keep this way the "discussion" here about the whole update issue and the "suggestion" a bit more free of wall of texts. Maybe we could also text the discussion back here so we could keep track of what was discussed already - a lot, which reading all takes time.
Hope this goes well, now I need to get some sleep...
I doubt they'll revert the changes, because that would involve screwing customers over twice on the same bomb. Not to mention the matter of the UV ticket compensation already given out- the smarter course would be to iterate on the positive aspects.
Perhaps we'll see minor tinkering and further bugfixes/ damage buffs. As much as I disagreed with the entitled attitude of the "fix stun now" campaign, the painful truth is that it was irresponsible to release an entirely new series of bombs themed around a status effect known to be defective. This turned a marginal problem into a higher priority, while simultaneously marring a very high profile product launch.
(And yes: in the context of SK's business model, I consider these bombs to be new products)
