How much does attack speed increase actually show?

I was thinking about getting a vog cub set to increase my attack speed (both pieces of armour have medium attack speed increases). I was wondering if it is even really worth it. Will the attack speed increase from these to pieces of armour actually show if I wield a heavy weapon? Any weapon?
