Till this day, I'm still stuck in the Knight rank (Rank 5-2), and I still got one more mission to complete: The Sovereign Slime.

Oh god, the horror of it... I'll never be able to complete that mission with my current loadout and arsenal...

I've tried this mission before (the first time is in solo; I died in the 2nd depth), but I died during the fight against the Jelly King, even with help from my friends and guild members, and energy revives. So, I'm going to prepare for the dreaded mission in advance, mostly by doing crown farming in the Shadow of the Beast mission (which is my only suitable place to do crown farming), buying myself CE, and crafting 3* equipments which will hopefully help me conquer the dreaded Jelly King.

Here's my current loadout during the fight with the Jelly King:
- Troika
- Magnus
- Solid Cobalt Helm/Armor/Shield

Could you suggest the best equipments for taking on the mission? (Take note that I'm a Hybrid player)

Hoo boy.

So first of all, Troika is a very slow weapon. Now, slimes being slow, this is okay, but lack of DPS might make the fight harder than it really is supposed to be. Investing in a (Silent) Nightblade is definitely not a bad idea, as having a good shadow weapon in here is definitely a plus. (And it's faster.)

As for your gun...yeah. Magnus is a piercing gun, and slimes being resistant to piercing you can tell it's going to be no good. I'd suggest investing in a Shadowtech Alchemer and practice shooting it without reloading. It's a good gun to have, and will do proper damage in contrast to your Magnus.

The armour looks good though, as Cobalt provides piercing protection which is exactly what you'll want for this mission. Now, for what you'll want to get first, I'd suggest looking into the shadowtech alchemer to replace your Magnus (but don't sell it off!) Troika is a normal sword, so it still works against slimes, and I'd rather have an O.K. sword and a good sidearm than a good sword and a terrible sidearm.

That being said, best of luck with avenging yourself! May your endeavor be successful.

A calibur line sword can work

A calibur line sword can work well, using lots of charge attacks (solo only please), and for gun, one of the alchemers will work great. But for sword you really want to look at the brandish's - specifically the nightblade / acheron line which does mince-meat of jellies and their royalty. Find Natts in game and I'll take you on a Jelly hunting trip if you want....

Sudaaaaaa-

Shidara and Nattss gave you some good tips there. A shadow weapon would come in handy. I used to use a nightblade but I've switched back to my troika (jalovec now) as it's strong enough after a couple of upgrades. Though you should keep something in mind, which Nattss mentioned, watch. Your. Knockback. It's a frigging scary thing.

I'd easily help you through a couple of runs too if you want. Just to show you how I do it with my jalovec.

The Jelly King: (because royal jelly sounds weird)

JK is an interesting boss fight, in that some items are just ridiculously effective on it while others are not. These items are pretty much one hit KOs when brought to the fight, and will make the entire thing a joke. If your party lacks them entirely, then you'll end up wasting time on the polyps in order to 'starve' the king.

The KO weapons that slay Jelly King easily are, in order of about most effective to least effective are: (Its hard to rank them in such a fashion)
-Dark Retribution
-Acheron
-FoV
-Volcanic Pepperbox
-Leviathan Blade
-Combuster
-Glacius/Voltedge
-Ash of Agni
-Umbra driver
-Gran faust
-Venom Veilor
-Magma driver
-Storm/Nova driver
-Hail driver

That is to say that while it will still work, bringing something like hail driver will be significantly harder to KO with than dark retribution.

What's your in game name? Add me, Mecha-Asian. I'll help you with quests. Don't expect me to use my CE to revive myself in the later quests though.

Also, this is my first time on forums, so that might be your IGN under your avatar, as mines is automatically posted as well, without it asking to set a forum username like most sites. I'll add you and help you out.

Thanks for the opinions!

My main IGN would be Gamer-Troopa, Mecha-Asian.

Shidara, I can understand the fact that the Troika is very slow and it lacks DPS, but it shines in crowd control (thanks to its attack range) and decent knockbacks (which can either be a blessing or curse). But then again, I'd go with your advice (Oh BTW, I already have a Shadowtech Alchemer).

And Fehzor, as I observed the list of the most effective weapons against JK, let me inform you 2 things:
- The Dark Retribution bomb is only available as one of the Expansion mission Tier 3 rewards (along with WRH), and you have to buy the expansion mission with real-life money.
- The Fang of Vog is a boss reward, as you need 40 Almirian Seal tokens from FSC, to get this weapon from Brinks, the token trader (and I'm not ready for FSC yet).

And Weedalot, why is it a scary thing to watch out for knockbacks?

Funny thing is if you like heavy swords, you need a sealed sword rather than a troika, but you have to kill jelly to get it, altought you could buy one from AH.

Yeah, but I don't want to.

Anyway, after completing The Sovereign Slime mission, I felt relieved and alot better than I expected. Finally.

With the help of 2 pros, Mecha-Asian and Mushta, we've conquered the Jelly Palace, defeated the Jelly King and I finally got my revenge. Good.

So, topic's closed, gotta bury it in the graveyard.
