So yeah, I stole this from Tersakoff cause:
1. He's gone.
2. He was kinda stuck-up.
3. We had a rivalry.
4. I like costumes more.
Ok enough with the reasons for stealing it, on to the costumes.

Ters is alive, just busy. I catch him on a few times but let's meet in game and i can show you some costumes.
Soarel, gtfo. Why is it you can never shut up and leave like you supposedly did a few months ago
"Soarel, gtfo. Why is it you can never shut up and leave like you supposedly did a few months ago"
That was pretty rude, considering that you are directly being offensive or attacking for no reason. If you see him post a thread like this and you don't like it, don't comment on it. Just ignore it or him. That should solve your own issue. Besides I was mean to him before, but then I learned that you should always be nice to everybody even if you hate them.
Soarel is not doing anything wrong though. I'm just saying, he is not doing threads like "OMG! I brought a brandish!". At least he doesn't do those kinds of threads. Nobody would care, but the thread would just be moved to the graveyard by the GM's.
Sorry, got a bit carried away, continue on with your lives and ignore my posts(heh)
Also, I'll most likely forget I posted here, so if you want to say something to me, message me in-game or try to find me on another thread.
I expected this kind of response when I made this. Besides, Tersakoff was a jerk. He felt entitled and self-absorbed, and he sent rude spam messages to my profile.
Anyways, this is not a ranting thread, so can we please get on to costumes already?
It's fine to have more than two people rating costumes, there's nothing wrong with that notion. The only reason people should be hating him is because he isn't good with costumes (which we will see soon), or maybe bring personal issues into this thread (such as his with Ters, Ters wasn't the friendliest person; but he had one helluva fashion sense). He shouldn't be hated because of the reputation of his previous threads, maybe wait till Soarel at least says something worth trashing Soarel about.
For now, we wait.
Cause I can't get on a comp ATM I will say an outfit. But I have one thing to say, Ters never said anything mean or rude to me and I don't know how you two treated each other but i hope you two can make up and become friends for the love of costumes xD.
Here are some costumes i use a lot.
Personal color: purple (the dark one)
Dragon: Deadly Virulisk Mask (clean), Deadly Virulisk Suit (Ghostly aura, Prismatic Dragon Wings, Mewkat hotpocket... Err I mean monster pocket... >.> *eats it*)
Hunter: Hunter Scale Helm (Hunter mounted display, Hunter Com-Unit), Hunter Scale Mail (Hunter Parrying Blade, Hunter Scarf, Hunter Side Blade)
Holy Gunslinger: Seerus Mask (clean), Deadshot Mantle (clean)
I must have missed the part where you gave us a good reason to care what you think of our costumes.
You don't have to post in his thread. It isn't like he's forcing you to. I can see where you're coming from though, his reputation has really preceded him in this case (or all cases). Just be thankful it isn't as bad as before.
For some strange reason, I think most of the posts in this thread are going to be about hating the OP, his comments about Ters, or him being compared to the more respected fashion gurus out there.
You don't have to post in his thread. It isn't like he's forcing you to.
You're right.
And? >__>
whats with all the hate on soarel?
in any case:

So am I the only one who doesn't know this Soarel guy from any other random kid on the forums?
Basically Soarel is a guy who posted incorrect information on arsenal forums, and assorted ideas on suggestions that weren't all that well thought out. Get over it. He's not the only one to have done so, and he's considerably less irritating than Bluebrawler and Killrot; at least Soarel means well by what he does.
I can't really say I approve of the original post's phrasing, though. :U
Anyway, on topic:
Divine Veil, Regal Glasses, Radiant Silvermail, Prismatic Valkyrie Wings, Divine Avenger, Regal Parrying Blade, Grey Owlite Shield (Amber personal colour). Discuss.

Also, Terk not only thinks they are always right, they would repeatedly talk about it.
"I must have missed the part where you gave us a good reason to care what you think of our costumes."
This^
Ters had a ridiculous amount of well constructed costumes which he provided as credentials for his thread, no matter what you personally thought of him his critiques were usually consistent and adhered to the rules he believed made a great costume.
Starting your thread by slating the person you "stole" the thread off is also a poor choice you have obviously earned your reputation.
"Ters had a ridiculous amount of well constructed costumes which he provided as credentials for his thread, no matter what you personally thought of him his critiques were usually consistent and adhered to the rules he believed made a great costume. "
I like tears, and was once accused of being tears, but if I had to be 100% honest I'd say a few of his costumes were a bit too much. He didn't seem to value subtlety quite as much as most people, and had a few areas with clipping trinkets and whatnot. Of course, I guess you do have to add a little too much if you want to be sure your costume is totaly original. Either way he was definitely a good critiquer, he always "followed his own rules" consistently, even if his standards were a little off norm to most people.
Also, staph with the random soreal hate. I mean, I make fun of soreal for the lulz, like he were a meme, but telling him he has a bad reputation is just stupid. When I say "this is all soreals fault" when someone random quits on my LD team, that's funny. Coming into a thread just to tell someone that their "reputation sucks" isn't.
I don't think soreal is being 100% serious when he says he "likes costumes more", and to be honest, tears was a bit stuck up. Now there's nothing wrong with that, critics kinda have to be stuck up. Perhaps narssacistic too, but I've said repeatedly that I don't frown upon self love. Just look at Chris. Narcassist? Yea, a bit. Bad person? Not really.
I guess it's somewhat fair to shame soreal for calling tears stuck up, but don't come into a thread just to say "you made a crappy suggestion 5 months ago" or something stupid about his "reputation". Noone cares other than people that already agree with you.
Tell me he wasn't asking for it.
I think Ters deserves a lot of the criticism he gets, but by god, Soarel's first post here is one of the most obnoxious things I've read. Petty, needlessly personal, and, above all, lazy. It's the equivalent of the dozens of suggestion threads that go "I think this game should have PETS! And User X is a doodiehead for dissing my last suggestion and I hate him! Discuss!"
When asking others to exert effort responding to your thread, you'd better put in some effort yourself.
Sir-Tuddle:
I really like the accessory combo on this one. However, a Monster Pocket doesn't really match here...
Asthix:
#1 is cool, like a dark and menacing villain.
#2 matches color-wise (cool-themed) but it's quite common as far as a combo goes.
#3's helm has the same combo as Sir-Tuddle's helm. However, I like the spikes and the Shadowsun Slicker.
#4....no. Just...no. It doesn't match, and the Quicksilver is a little hard on the eyes in the first place.
Those who didn't post pictures:
I really need a pic to judge, as I'd rather not spend the time perusing around Spiral Spy/AH for the combo to preview.
You've made obvious mistakes in your judging, Soarel. In Asthix's second costume, the green pc is horrible there, and it messes up what could be a great costume. In your third, Asthix, a red pc would make it overall not too bad of a costume, but there is way too much green on it, so it just ruins the whole thing.
Also, in the first, it's not too bad, the way you tried to add more of a fancy theme to costume as a whole wasn't too bad, but the difference in themes between the helm and the armor is too significant. Also, the red on the surge wings doesn't match anything else, and it looks like the wings were an afterthought.
Along the lines of Asthix's last costume, I agree with you, Soarel, and also with the first one you listed
Thanks for the critiques. This will sound weird to you, but it makes me enjoy the Divine Merc hat costume even more.
Came back to make a point about the surge wings:
I get that the natural reaction to surge wings on a Snarbo coat is that they are somehow wasted because the red pointy bits are a brighter red.
I put them there for the same reason, because its subtle. The idea of wings you don't notice at first is tres chic. To me, it doesn't matter if its a different shade of red, more pointy bits are more pointy bits.
The other reason I really enjoy them on the Snarb is more personal, but I really like it in game. When you wear Snarbo armor, you have this big red spike over your left shoulder, almost vertical. With the wings, they come over your right shoulder horizontally. The juxtaposition makes it seem like the surge wing, with its muted red, is a broken twin of the red spike. It really balances out the costume and yes the wings do match the Snarbo coat, no I don't need more surge red, it works fine like it is.
Quoting Red here, but fashion is in the eye of the beholder, so as long as you like your costume, it's good.
Found a picture, someone posted it on the wiki xD
how you guys can stand the clipping on scarves + drake line helms.
At least I agree with your hatered of drake scale scarves, but this isn't as bad as a pets thread. So what if it's petty and lazy, that's kinda the point. It's just simple conversation. Why bother making a deep and incredibly thought-out thread, just to share and judge costumes? Besides, he isn't really asking people to exert effort anyways, he just made a thread where people can post pictures of their costumes if they feel like it.
would a tricorne on a sunest duster or nameless poncho look good together? Sorry for no pics :P
Tricorn and sunset might be decent, though the black on the Tricorn wouldn't match anything on the sunset
Tricorn and nameless wouldn't match too well
If you want a nice, matching costume combo of a poncho-like armor and a tricorn, I would suggest miracle cloak and tricorn with a red personal color
Tricorn+Radiant Silvermail is what I've got currently.
I posted about it in my blog here-
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/65939#comment-544140
Tricorn+silvermail doesn't look too bad, though the only way to make it a very good combination color-wise would be to have a black personal color, but OOO hasn't made black(yet)
I was thinking of an amber PC for the nameless... We need more black/regal costumes :) MAKE SOME NAOW OOO
Amber wouldn't be too bad, if I'm thinking right. I don't really know much about the gunning equipment, I'm mostly a swordie
Anyways try this costume:
Red personal color wearing shogun helmet and almirian crusader try adding some red accesories like flame aura to mqtch the armor and dragon scale shield.
And
Brute jelly helm with blue flower (cool) and blue ponytail with winter aura or blue accesories.
Sory for bad spellings I have pictures im just too lazy to post anyways goodnight!
Still a work in progress but here's what I've got so far :
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mby433X17f1qepy01o1_400.jpg - front

I am aware the helmet and tail don't match the Surge perfectly, but it's so close on my screen that I don't mind all that much. I have a Surge Bomb Bando I'm tempted to attach, as well. However, I have two Surge Brigandines - one with a Parrying Blade, and then the one shown. I'm pretty torn on which one gets the Bando. D:
I am here to solve all your earthly problems.
The parrying blade and bomb bando are both armor front accessories. So you can't put the bomb bandolier on the surge brigandine containing the parrying blade, unless you first remove the parrying blade.

Main theme of this costume was originally supposed to be Heavenly Iron colors (hence, the wings, because it matches the underdress of the armor) but it grew into a full loadout.
Armor accessories:
-Flame Aura
-Volcanic Valkyrie Wings
-Toasty Canteen
Helmet Acessories:
-None, but to recreate it on a Hood that isn't a Grey Feather Cowl, you would need Prismatic Glow Eyes. The eyes themselves are Closed Eyes.
Player Color: Orange
Shield's there for added aesthetics.
-----------------
Not really looking for an opinion on what to improve, just kind of throwing it out there since I have nothing better to do on this dull and dreary Monday afternoon.
Aaah, I meant side blade, sorry! I always get the names confused. I got a separate costume piece for the tail since it clips with the blade. :[
All helmet accessory slots have been used and frankly I don't think I will change anything anytime soon
Soarel, your people need you!!! If you're not going to do any critiquing, then change the title to "Light's Fashion Appreciation Thread," and I'll gladly take over from here on out.
Daarke already stole his thunder. Kind of amusing given the OP's implication that he could do a thread better than someone else.
Does Daarke know what he's doing, I haven't seen his thread yet
So...
1. He's gone
2. You don't like him
3. You want to feel superior
4. You like costumes more, therefore you are automatically a good/better source of fashion criticism
At least, those are the vibes I'm getting from this.
That being said, isn't just keeping his thread or Mawashimono's alive and offering your own thoughts there a better idea anyways? More than likely some people who don't use the search bar can get stuff answered by reading the old posts.
