Anyone else getting this problem trying to log into Spiral Knights? Steam seems to be working perfectly fine and I restarted Steam, I'm even logged into the forums with my steam ID, but I can't log into the game itself because it keeps saying "we experienced a problem authenticating with steam".

I know others who are online playing through steam. (EDIT - nevermind, he said he just encountered the same error)
I'm thinking about switching, but want to make sure I dont screw up my game doing so.

Good thing I didn't merge my SK account with Steam!
Honestly, I'm not going to do it until I can see a few months in a row without any large issues on Steam, as well as when Linux gets Steam.

I restarted...
And Now its stuck at the login. It says logging in... for about 20 minutes, and still nothing. =|

Yeah I uninstalled SK, reinstalled SK, and now I get stuck at the login for about a minute and then it says there is either an outage or the server isn't fully operational.

Just wanted to say that I'm also getting this error. Then after trying a couple of times my log in just started timing out. I don't get an immediate error, but it just says "logging on" for a few minutes and then tells me to try again later. That happen to anyone else?

The last time this happened to me was over 5/6 months ago. A few months before that again. S'not as if this is a common issue, all software has issues.

Back to the original error that made me post this topic.. think I'll go bum around on other games for a bit while they figure out how to fix this. Gunna be boring since this is my day off and I already capped my limits on the other game >.> Wanted to hunt PK with my friends.

You can still get on SK for now by using the web client and 'login with facebook', then log in with steam when it takes you to the sk website.

I agree with you, this same kind of problem did happen just a month or so ago, it was just resolved very quickly.

I've checked up Team Fortress 2. Item Server is good, I can reach my Loadouts and Inventory and I can join Servers.
If this problem was on Steam's side, it would also affect TF2. However it doesn't look like it, so it has to be on SK's side.

Ah, good to know. I also got this error, and I thought I was temp-banned or hacked, so I started panicing and read the ban page on the wiki and turned my Steam Guard on. :P
Hopefully it will be fixed in about 13 hours. By that I mean, in 13 minutes. No, just kidding take the time you need.

Hmm...
I'm able to log on to my alt via the Sk website, but what use does that do for me?
It must be an issue on Steam's side else everyone would be having the problem? I know that people are still on there playing.

I'm having the same issues,
I'm having the same issues, however I've noticed that it affects most of my third-party games that aren't from valve (I.E. Team Fortress 2 works, but Dungeon Fighter Online/Atlantica don't, and they're booted up via steam).
I'd say it's definitely steam-side.

I am getting the message "We experienced a problem autheticating with Steam. Please ensure that the Steam client is running and that you are not logged in elsewhere."
I was playing 30 minutes ago logged in Steam, took a break, tried getting back to the game and now this.

The Steam Community is currently "offline for routine maintenance." (Seen when checking the Friends List in Steam) While it is offline the Steam log-in for Spiral Knights will be down for anyone trying to start the game. Unfortunately since we at Three Rings do not control these systems we cannot offer any estimation as to when they will be back.
