That's extremely out-dated information. Arenas in all missions are replaced with a nerfed version. New looks, but hardly any enemies, crowns and heat.
Boss missions are all there is to farm now, unless you can get invites to arenas or terminal before a boss.
Don't be afraid to do JK. Heck i did it with a freezing vaporizer and a shock burst brandish! And a demo helm and wolver coat.

But then again one of my teamates had a combuster and the other an acheron LOL. But honestly i only died 3 times in the mission.
So yeah don't be afraid to do JK its great as well for crown harvesting no other levels can beat boss levels for harvesting crowns.
Just one question. I made an alternate account, thinking that it'll have its own mist energy and stuff. Unfortunately, it seems that the accounts share mist energy. Is the mist energy linked to your IP address or something? If not, how else can I have 2 separate accounts that do not share mist energy?
Miki-Belegu: There is no one shield that goes with the Dusker/Skolver/Vog Cub armor. You might want to read the armor section of my detailed sword guide, to learn about your options in shields.

So,this is what I am planning to do through my career:
Getting dusker cap (already have coat) and upgrading my snarble barb and bristling buckler to three stars.
Getting ash tail cap and coat and upgrading snarble barb and bristling buckler to four stars.
Getting snarbolax set and getting snarble barb and bristling buckler to five stars.
Then I'm getting trinkets and other stuff.
Good for me?
As I note in my sword guide, the Snarbolax armor can be obtained only in the Shadow Lairs. In case you don't know, a Shadow Lair trip is highly expensive and highly difficult --- much harder than Firestorm Citadel. You could buy Snarbolax armor unbound from someone, but that will be insanely expensive, so don't do it. In short, Snarbolax is not a good choice for your first 5-star armor. Basically, your choices are Skolver or Vog Cub, as discussed in my sword guide.
You're going for Barbarous Thorn Blade, which is a great sword. What will your other weapon(s) be? It's good to plan them at the same time, if possible, so that they work well together.
Hey i just logged in today an i was given a 3* sword and sheild did everyone got the same thing?

See the patch notes. They mention that every player gets an "Honor Blade", "Honor Guard", and trophy thing. That includes you.
I got the 3* things, but can I get the 4* sword and shield if I make the requirement?
From the patch notes, and what people are saying in General Discussion (where there are many threads on this topic), it seems that this gift is a one-time thing, and you cannot upgrade the items.
Cross that snarbolax armor as first 5 star armor. I'm getting Vog.
My weapons will be Barbarous thorn blade and a freezing bomb. I'm also getting barbarous thorn blade.
Barbarous Thorn Blade and Shivermist Buster is okay. But that bomb doesn't do a whole lot of damage, so it doesn't kill monsters very quickly. And BTB doesn't kill piercing-resistant monsters (jellies and constructs) very quickly either. So you will have trouble against jellies and constructs.
Also, while Shivermist Buster is very popular in certain situations (e.g., the Vanaduke fight), in many other situations it can actually be counterproductive, by hindering kiting, knockback, shield-bumping, etc.
My recommendation is: Go ahead and work on BTB and SB. But also work on a third weapon --- either a sword or a gun, and either elemental or shadow. Carry two of your three weapons at a time; pick the two that seem most appropriate to the level.
