In The Jelly has basically gone with "If you want it pay for it." That is to say- if I MUST have a 2nd wing or so, then I must find/organize people to invest in a 2nd wing. So far, we have one wing, which we have made several things in, and just kind of rearrange gleefully. This all reminds me a lot of the secret bases in the pokemon games, so I'm not too excited to pay for it all. What does excite me however, is the overall effect that it has on the game, as well as getting to see what others do with it.

But anyways, what has your guild decided? Are there mandatory taxes? An entrance fee? What have you decided regarding the mist wells? And of course- why?

I'm a guild of one (recruit

I'm a guild of one (recruit new players, teach them how to play, then let them move on in the game to a more active guild)

So...I plan on buying expansions, hoarding a bunch of furniture from them, then demolishing the expansions, removing all upkeep then cramming my main room with cool furniture :3

Also taking small donations from new players that decide to give it (and that guild vault would be helpful for distributing starter gear, probably results of my ragecrafting)

My guild is taking what I should think is the 'normal approach':

Now that we have to actually trust our members to an extent, we choose them carefully before allowing actual membership. Recruitment is fine, but not Membership unless we think we can trust them with that rank.

We plan on increasing our guild size first, while working slowly on expanding our Guildhall as that proceeds. Because as recruitment increases, we should be getting funding assistance from our members. (We can check the GR about those who don't. GR is so neat ^^)

We're trying to resist the urge to splurge on getting the cool stuff, in case we're in over our heads and can't support the upkeep. If things go as planned, growth of our guild should be stable and easy-er to maintain.

As it stands, my active GM, our officers (myself included) are working to see if we can maintain the upkeep for a single expansion by ourselves. In theory, we seem fine; the numbers add up. But we'd rather be safe and get a feel for what we'll be dealing with should our guildhall get larger.

So far, we haven't done anything great with our hall; we're working with what we've got, but we should be okay.

Showoffs :/

Mind if I crash in your GTH? I'll stay within the shufflebot practice area. I'll leave my Grav on auto.

Oh, mind getting Dogrock a door? And soundproof walls/floor/roof? I keep hearing banging sounds.

Have to admit it's kinda cool

Have to admit it's kinda cool to just skip the slow progress method and just auto have a hoofin' big GH with everything. Although not helpful in the sense that it's a total maze; I just cannae keep myself from gettin' lost in there!

GTH is pretty boring I think tbh. Big room, not much in it. The target boards are cool for aiming, but the back row can't be reached by most guns which is pretty stupid, and the shufflebots are about as threatening as an angry flower pot. The punching bags are cool and will be useful for data collection, but (imo) aren't enough alone to justify the GTH. I'd like to see something more substantial added to it, such as a monster spawner or some other form of enemy more challenging than Shuffles.

According to Nick we'll have doors at some point, so Dogrock can get locked up sooner or later :D

Side note

"The target boards are cool for aiming, but the back row can't be reached by most guns which is pretty stupid"

I think that was the point - to show the players that different guns have different ranges and there are only few guns with really long range. IMO that's a better way of learning ups and downs of every handgun, then a shooting range in regular ATH.

Well, my guild is fairly wealthy (and very active, more so), so we were maxed out the same day it came out (400k upkeep).
But, we continue to make a few small changes in design, but most of it was done the first day. It's a really cool place to hang out, though we don't have quite as many Furnishings as EoS, though we do have quite a few.
The Mist Well/Guild Storage has gone pretty well so far, with only one person abusing it for 700 ME, but he gave back the value of how much he took in Guild Storage, so it's all good so far.

What are the good guildhallds

What are the good guildhallds out there that people have seen? I'm in EoS so I've seen ours plenty but was wondering which had good design aesthetics? Not so much how much they've spent because its easy to throw a bunch of junk in a room, but actual good design. Any interior decorators out there want to start an interior decorating thread? I would but I don't have the eye for this stuff and would butcher it.

Oh come on, I loved secret

Oh come on, I loved secret bases in Pokemon! Those and mixing records were easily the best part of gen III.

Oh yeah, I helped design Knights of Equestria's GH. If you checked it out, probably the best GH after EoS.

hehe... For In the Jelly

hehe...

For In the Jelly right now us officers have kept things pretty quiet until we have come to a sort of decision on what we want to happen. We've decide to take things slow and not max things out right off the bat. We're saving up and working out what we want in each room. It can make decorating a bit of a pain because we don't have access to most of the furniture yet. But i have a budget laid out that if we missed a payment one week it's not going to hurt us too bad. Milkman, Drdrj, and I are all on the same page. We want unique rooms and not waste crowns on the extra bits that can be accessed in haven.

We just had the budget today to get the east wing thanks to sir-didymus making a generous donation. We love him dearly.

We have some pretty cool ideas goin on in our heads now we're working on getting the funds there.

:D We can't wait to get it open to the public to show what we've been working on. but alas, it is still too soon for that. :D

My favorite so far has been

My favorite so far has been 'The Hempire'. Just plain and simple and the GM made me laugh. 'Bastion of Truth' was also super polite and I just KNEW they were Canadians. Turns out I was right, those Canucks are just so darn polite!

Tier Zero...

has gotten a few expansions, an AH, and a crafting room complete with Mist Well.

Someone took a bunch of 5* mats (including a Spark of Life =( those are rare) but other than that, the thing hasn't been abused; we've got all sorts of 2* gear and even a Dusker Coat in Guild Storage. (And there's so many Autoguns...) Due to the amount of players willing to donate over the 4K suggested by Kal, we've pretty much got it made as far as upkeep goes. Also, we have a crap-ton of trophies (gotta love them alts), and our fair share of shrubs too.

I bought CE a while back and still haven't spent it all, so I can't tell for sure, but lower CE prices are probably going to help a lot with upkeep ;)

Can I sit down? The sky keeps swirling around.

It was basically "Avixi puts in 11 million crowns and gets an entire four floors on the west side of the GH to herself."

:O

My Guild got a mention!

“‘Bastion of Truth’ was also super polite and I just KNEW they were Canadians. Turns out I was right, those Canucks are just so darn polite!”

Thanks for the compliments! We do have quite a few Canadians, including all three of our Guildmasters. We didn’t plan that, it just worked out that way.

We’ve pretty much just started recruiting now, and the Guildmasters are more or less covering all the costs, while giving the new recruits (all under 4* ranking, except one who just passed the 4* Hall of Heros a few days ago) a place to hang out and call their own. However, everyone has also been more than willing to contribute, so we've been able to purchase one expansion and a fair amount of furniture.

Some players have expressed a desire to have their own rooms, and as long as they can continue to pay their upkeep we'll be more than happy to allow that. Though, we'll have to place and buy their furniture for them, as we don't want anyone messing up the design.
