please I'm only 4* D:
I need something :D <3
People change their mind you know and if he still can sent it, why sent it to me, sent it to my alt directly(suppose i win):D.
Let's see....if we say out of these 209 comments, 200 of them contains IGN. Let's see the percentage of winning.
There is 3 prizes and 200 competitors :
1) for the first prize the percentage is : 3/200 ~ 1.5 %
2) for the second prize the percentage is : 3/200 ~ 1.5 %
3) for the third prize the percentage is : 3/200 ~ 1.5 %
4) For all of the 3 prizes that would be : 1.5+1.5+1.5 = 4.5 ---> 4.5 % of winning one of the 3 prizes.
Correct me if I am wrong, I have the feeling that I messed up....
I have no idea why we are posting our Igns but mine is: Erridunno
IGN: Ryidon
and a Merry Christmas to all!
This is definitely cool. Good luck to everyone. Sleepychu and I spent over 10k each sending messages to other people for the last contenst.

:3 Good luck and merry christmas to all :D

Good luck
you are right. 4.5% is excellent for such awesome stuff. if the chances were under 0.1%, i would say "Nuuuuuu !" as well.
ign: Wodanct
Example:
1 out of 200.
1 out of 199.
1 out of 198.
Where does 1.5% and 4.5% come in at. >.>
Baka, percentages are expressions using 'out of 100'.
So every one person in 198 would have a 1/198 chance of success, and therefore a 1.98% chance of success.
Basics.

P.S. Congratz on PS3. What's your gamer tag?
I'll enter, and Btw I did Fsc with you. :o
Ign is same as my forum name.
@Wodnact :
I said 3, because the prizes won't be given in order. Like Valiance first > Then Callahan > Then Dragon Scale Helm. And the OP didn't state that if you win a prize, you can't win the other ones, so it is still 200 for each draw.
@Psycho :
Was that for me :O ? If it was, you are the baka >:(
If I said it was 3/200 that would be 1.5/100 = 0.015 which equals 1.5%
Where did you bring the 198 from ?
I should've probably quoted Wodnact, but I didn't really feel the need to.
The 198 was to pull a relevant non-rounded number as to assist my point that the percentages were representative of the fractions.
@Psycho :
I forgive you then, my son.
I´m in :P I want that Valiance!

You post a lot on the forums, I would assume you could think better than that, but obviously I assumed wrong. Also using that japenese word like that would be against ToS in more than 1 way but I don't really care about that.
Anyway, I guess I have to spend 2 minutes of my time on this forum again.
The odds to win a prize are not 1.5% or even 4.5%.
There are 3 prizes. Even if there is only 100 names in this thread. (There will be way more than 100 names but hey)
"percentages are expressions using 'out of 100'" Yes, they are but clearly you didn't understand why I posted what I did and my post wasn't even meant for you. Depending on how the person running this contest does there there are 2 different percents of winning. Either way there are 3 prizes.
Just for kicks lets say there IS 100 people in this drawing. (Xxdragneel used 200 but that makes it even less of a chance of winning if there is 200)
A will represent the drawing where a person can win more than once.
B will represent the drawing where a person can only win once.
1st drawing - A = 1/100 or 1%. B = 1/100 or 1%.
2nd drawing - A = 1/100 or 1%. B = 1/99 or 1.010101..% (repeating)
3rd drawing - A (still) 1/100 or 1%. B = 1/98 or 1.020408...%
The odds barely change, but they are still below 1.5% and especially 4.5% and as more people enter those chances keep getting lower.
Basics. I mean this was only taught in the 4th or 5th grade.
@xxdragneel 4.5% is a good guess though, I think that would of been right if the contest was done differently. (Talking to a buddy in college about this one and he did get 4.5% but not for this kind of contest.)
Oh foo, screw you brain. Why the Firestorm did I calculate 1/198 as 1.98%? Rookie mistake.
As for: "The odds barely change, but they are still below 1.5% and especially 4.5%"
You didn't specify anywhere in your first post anything about the sizes of the percentages. Rather, you posted raw odds and expressed indignation at the percentages. Bother to check where the percentages came from, or what they were for, I did not.
In short:
"Example:
1 out of 200.
1 out of 199.
1 out of 198.
Where does 1.5% and 4.5% come in at. >.>"
Was interpreted as "Lol, odds are odds, where do percentages come in at all >.>"
Apologies for that.
"I would assume you could think better than that, but obviously I assumed wrong"
You'd be surprised how many assumptions are wrong. "To assume is to make a [Bucket] out of U and ME."
As for Dragneel's mistake, he added the percentages of winning together. If one were to try and calculate his chances of consecutive successes, the percentage would get smaller.
As I said before, I didn't bother to check the numbers nor where they came from, neither what they were for.
"Also using that japenese word like that would be against ToS in more than 1 way but I don't really care about that."
As far as I recall, 'baka' is a colloquial term, or at least one used colloquially used like if not as the term 'idiot'. In which case, it would break the ToS in the 'personal attacks' section, but where else I don't appear to see.
"my post wasn't even meant for you."
You claim to have thought to have known me and my posting methods, yet you failed to notice that I often poke my nose into other people's business, considering this is a public forum and as a result, outside input is the least surprising thing to occur.
Its alright, there is no malicious intent in my posting. I am only defending my views and "honor".
"To assume is to make a [Bucket] out of U and ME."
Not the first time I've heard that. Once was from a good friend, and then the 2nd time I've heard that was from a gentlemen that had no business saying that. Guess the 3rd time is now. :p
I replied the way I did because I took your post as a personal attack.
For xxdragneel's sake his/her idea was right.. just the wrong numbers. for 200 it would be about .5% chance to win a prize. 1.5% chance added up. (not 1.5% / 4.5% but thats an honest mistake.)
100 would be 1% chance or 3% total... and if it gets to 200 it is still 1.5% total. It will take 300+ to make it lower than 1% total.
@Omnizoa
"Meh....entering won't hurt anything"
It will hurt my chances on getting that Valiance :<
