As many Veterans already know, the monster families of Fiend, Undead, and Construct are the most powerful. Gremlins and slimes rank second. And then there is the Beast family; the weakest of them all. Simply put, the beast family is in need of new monsters, and a stronger presence in the game. Any Ideas?
Strenghening the Beast Class (New Ideas and Art for Stronger Beasts Welcome!)
Likewise, ALL wolvers and ALL chameleons have only one attack. And they are the only beast classes out there. They should add new attacks, but at least make their standard attack more powerful.
For example: a new attack for wolvers
Pounce - wolver inflicts designated status effects: sleep, fire, poison, shock, stun
Which is why I suggested dragons as new enemies (either as mini bosses or just plain enemies)... or the very least add a new attack to alpha wolvers.
When did undead and constructs become more dangerous than gremlins?
Is this a recent patch where gremlins became slow and predictable while undead can spin-attack away half your health without warning?
No, its just that thing where gremlins run stupidly in packs at you, completely ignoring the fact that they have a shield that completely protects them from damage on their backs. Meanwhile, we have those zombies that leap at you from below the screen that take a quarter of your health without warning, and those Rocket Puppies and Howlitzers that hunt you to the ends of the earth and beyond.
and wolvers just, regardless of pointy blades we have, come in front of us, and takes 1 whole second to charge their bite... seems legit
Solvers gives a long signal that they are going to attack you, When that happens, all I do is charge my grand flourish and charge attack it against its direction, it dies EASILY

btw- wolvers try to come up behind you. they forget we can spin.
Hmmm I need to stop using this iPad, it sucks and it's slow

(you did it again)
Idea: Wait for Luguiru to finish his family rebalances and see what he says for beasts. He usually has good ideas.
I find it peculiar that there are dragon scales, wyvern scales, and drake scales, but no dragons wyverns or drakes...
@Dragon: Maybe they'll add dragons. I had an idea for a level with a Chroma Dragon that flies around pestering you, while lesser Chroma Drakes can blast you with fire...
@Undead/Gremlins: They've both got tough points and easy points. Scorchers (without Oilers to back them up) are a breeze, especially for a skilled Dark Ret bomber; Zombies are also a breeze, unless there are enough annoyingly convenient Grim Totems or Deadnaughts to back them up. Then there's the Gremlin Thwackers, who have shields, and Spookats, which move at high speed and spam bullets. There's Menders that heal ridiculous amounts of damage (though Venom Veiler shuts them down) and there's Howlitzers that spam even more bullets (though Polaris shuts them down). And, again, combos, like Scorchers/Oilers, or the rare Deadnaught/Bombie combo (only in LoA and GitM, but still...)
Anyway, I'd wait to see Luguiru's rebalances of the existing Beasts (and Slimes, and Undead, and maybe even Fiends). Which reminds me: come on, Luguiru!
Background: I used to play a game called Dungeon Siege 2. In it, you could purchase pets which functioned as alternative party members, complete with their own attacks, special attacks, and unique emanations that granted stat buffs to other party members. One of them was the Scorpion Queen.
http://www.cheathappens.com/features/dungeon_siege_2/graphics/pet10.jpg
Unlike a traditional scorpion enemy, the Queen discharged stingers from her tail at range, making her the only ranged pet available. While the novelty wore off, the idea remained. Hence, my suggestion.
Scorpions.
These tough little bugs will fill you with stingers if you take your eye off them. These bugs are pretty tough to squash too, so watch out.
Falls into two types:
Young scorpions-Juvenile scorpions whose tail stingers haven't fully developed. They attack by discharging stingers at the enemy.
Appearance: Dun-colored giant bug about the size of a Greaver. Skitters away very quickly and away from Knights to discharge stingers. Stingers have the graphic similarity to a Polyp thorn.
Tier 1: Light brown insect that ejects slow moving stingers. Their claws are soft and they'll run away for fear of being stepped on. Smooth carapace.
Tier 2: Brown insect that ejects fast moving stingers. They're tougher, but they'll still run from you. Somewhat spiny carapace.
Tier 3: Dark brown, stinger projectiles move as fast as Devilite projectiles. Very spiny. Good luck stepping on them.
But these are only the kids.
Adult scorpions: These monstrosities are comparable to Trojans in sheer force. Their tails and claws, now fully developed. are used to grab and impale prey instead of whittling them down with stingers.
Tier 1: Giant Lichen Colony sized bug that attacks with claws and an AoE tailsting slam.
Tier 2: Same as T1 and retaining the aesthetics of a juvenile scorpion, attacks faster than their T1 brethren.
Tier 3: This, with claws. http://dungeonsiege2.net/ds2fun/image/monster/ds1_m_c_edm_im_pos_1.jpg
I am meditating atop the highest mountain in all of the Pokemon regions pondering the inevitable Spiralmon thread I have awaited for many moons.
Just kidding. I was prancing in wonderfully pretty fields of flowers with bunnies and kittens and all kinds of fluffy little aminaminals. Then we had a tea party under a rainbow while wearing pink frilly dresses. After that the fuzzy little forest creatures banished me back to hell while all the pretty ponies spectating laughed maniacally with several dramatic lightning strikes in the background.
Was I talking about my dream last night or what has been keeping me from making more stuff? The latter is because I was derping around in Spore trying to make Bulbasaur but instead made some kind of centaur. Shows how well I can do that.
I made a thread a while back that included (among other things) a Snail beast enemy if that counts.
How about an armidillo that attacks like the wheels on blackstone bridge.
Tier 1-they shoot out in a straight line
Tier 2-they shoot out but can curve 90 degrees
Tier 3-they shoot out but can boomerang back a second time
They cause piercing damage
but when its balled up, wouldn't it not take piercing damage? armor plating and all that?
We could use new monsters, but we still need to improve what we already have.
Wolvers need to attack faster with less of a warning. They are slow compared to other enemies.
