Wow Plad, you sure do know how to kill a thread.
Gremlins with tails- How a slight design change could potentially break the game- Now with 70% more art

Sadly the gremlin doesn't have a roo tail XD
Whenever I imagined gremlin tails, I always thought of a lion tail. Like a Red long tail with a brownish tuft at the end
I have a strange feeling that this is gonna turn into a rule 34 thread... OHH MAI GAWD WHYYY
Question, that is somewhat more on topic.... Can Gremlins communicate with The Knights? I mean, I remember seeing somewhere where it said they speak a so far un-decipherable language, but then, what about Greckal or w/e his name is selling stuff in Emberlight? And I don't have OCH, but are there Gremlin's that talk in there?
We can understand what Seerus is saying to us in OCH. So it's pretty much that we can't understand their language, but some of them know ours.
Two things
First off, I haven't played the game in a LONG time so forgive me if there is already an explanation for this but... IF they understand the Knights' language, why don't the friendly Gremlins just translate their language for us so that we can understand them better. I think it would really do a lot for the war effort if they could understand the Gremlin chatter.
Secondly, WOW. This thread went from a rant, to a technical debate, to general chatter about tails, to (almost) R34 discussion, and finally questions about the Gremlin language, in barely 2 pages!
Just... The SK community XD
I'm mostly guessing that they can communicate with us, since we seem to be able to purchase things from Gracken without any real issue and I'm guessing that someone would have had to have talks with the Emberlighters to allow the knights to use a section of thier town as a staging area. Plus, we can speak to Vise perfectly fine, both in Haven and in the lobby of OCH, where he's considerably more vocal.
It may be that there's a major cultural taboo against sharing their language with others, too deep-seated for the Emberlighters to be able to say "The Colony is stinky, so let's stick it to them by teaching the Knights how to understand what they're saying." It may also be a technical thing; other races' tongue may not be able to make some of the sounds, or parts of the language may be pitched in a way that we can't even hear them properly. For example, human babies are born with the ability to make any sort of sound that a human can make, but by age 2, they've lost the ability to properly process and replicate those sounds that they don't hear on a regular basis as a part of their native language(s) .... it's why many Westerners learning Asian languages for the first time as adults have so much trouble and the tribal African languages made up primarily of whistles and clicks have everyone else in the world scratching our heads ... in the former case, the sounds are different enough that it's difficult for us to deal with, and in the latter, pretty much impossible.
