suggestions are pointless, why? no one agrees with ANY suggestion and it'll just get criticized then people just make the thread worse and keep it on the front page by replying the same comment someone else made last time. REMOVE THE SUGGESTION TAB, NOW, ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE POINTLESS! now, if you're gonna criticize a suggestion for an improvement then i suggest you say it in a much nicer way and people, stop spamming the threads on the front page by replying the exact same thing.

no.

Please don't do this. Send it to the graveyard, now, before someone takes it seriously. Then where would I spend all my time?

There are many horrid suggestions on the forums however a small percent of them are good so they're not 100% pointless.

What we really need is for

What we really need is for people to start ignoring troll threads and ones that have been suggested before.

And, someone needs to make a master list of what not to suggest because it's already been pounded to dust 100s of times before. And then that list needs to be stickied up there with the forum rules, with links to said pummeled threads. And a bunch of threads need to be moved to the Graveyard.

EDIT: too many ands :/

"if you're gonna criticize a suggestion for an improvement then i suggest you say it in a much nicer way and people, stop spamming the threads on the front page by replying the exact same thing."

Actually, if you're going to suggest an idea make sure its worthwhile and not a waste of everyone's time. I googled your name and looked at a few of your threads, and really, it's pathetic.

Not to mention you're only 11 years old.

Someone report this dink for me?

EDIT:
Actually, Skold once made something like that: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/42637

Quite honestly the biggest problem with the suggestions forum is newbie Knights making the same threads over and over again. The search function has been cumbersome for a long time and deters many a forumite from actually checking for repeat threads.

Then again, I don't see why kids think they're original for posting the 50th "HURR DURR OPEN THE CORE" or 100th "OMG WE NEED CAPES" thread. What's even worse is that they don't explain their ideas and just leave them to clutter up the front page of the suggestions forums. What's even worse than that is when some newbie goes on a thread-frenzy and makes 10 different one sentence threads, pushing other valid ideas and suggestions out of the front page and most people's view.

Also, the suggestions community could do a little better to help along with things as well. Too many of us have gotten into this offensive mode of thinking where they just collectively shut down a thread without explaining drawbacks and reasons why such an idea wouldn't work. Honestly, that doesn't help anyone. Granted, some threads deserve it, but not all of them.
What's more is that we stopped discussing things and helping bring flawed-but-good ideas into actual good ideas. We just cut them short with nary an explanation anymore.

I think we could all benefit from just a little better moderation, both from mods and us. Forumites need to watch what they say and how they say it. Explain and help cultivate ideas so more become more worthwhile, instead of flaming everything to the ground. And mods could get some hire some volunteer mods to just clear out any garbage/repeat threads quickly and efficiently. It's not like we don't already have enough Knights who spend a lot of time here already. Giving the more trustworthy and helpful ones the ability to help make the suggestions forums a better place would be awesome.

An actual suggestion.

Not to hate on Nickblade or anything;

Why don't we have an auto-complete function that works when someone tries to start a new thread?
The function could (hopefully quickly) show a drop-down with the Topics/Titles of threads with similar key words.
(Example, I start typing "Disa" and "Disallow Auto Aim from Lockdown" comes up first in the drop menu, followed by "Disabled Fluffy Pandas" or something of the sort.)

If the poster clicks on one of the drop-down options, the post will instead be turned into a new comment on the post they selected, so as to minimize the number of threads that are created, and instead just condense them into less (but larger) threads.

-1 for the OP. I love the suggestions forums! Some people are bloody brilliant, but sadly the majority of posters are not.

"Why don't we have an auto-complete function that works when someone tries to start a new thread?"

I seriously doubt the server OOO hosts this forum on (which is probably another virtual machine instance in the same Amazon cloud) has that kind of processing power.

One search of the dictionary whenever someone presses a single key... and the cost of updating that dictionary.

And you know what... the poster will ignore the suggested threads all the same.

It's not a computing problem. It's a problem sitting in front of the monitor.

There's nothing wrong with this suggestions forum.

The same goes for any suggestions forum of any game: Minecraft, Runescape, and many more. There are always going to be people that rush onto the suggestions forum and say "I wont this and this and u betta put it in the gaem becoz it would be awesum"

The suggestions help the game

Without it, there may not be any pets of idea. They would have a lack of content, therefore the suggestions is there. People just give critical feedback, but it's only feedback. If there are noobs who type badly and have a lack of details but saying "omg spiral nightz plzzzzz add dis idear tho da gaem it woud gettt the gamme backkk plzzzz add no energy im the best sugesder!!! plzzz"

That message was from someone, so I took it and kinda copied them off. No I am not an alt of a noob or a troll. I'm only 1 alt, which is this one.
