New Guild Hall Ideas

While I approved of the guild hall update (Spiral Knights needed more crown sinks, after all), I thought of some additions that could be made:

Boss Trophies

The boss trophies were an excellent addition for the guild halls…but some of the richer guilds were able to craft all of them in mere days. I hereby suggest the obvious idea: create shadow lair versions of the boss trophies. The trophies would be: Replica Rabid Snarbolax, Replica Ice Queen, Large Replica Red Roarmulus Twins, and Darkfire Vanaduke's Finery. I would imagine that each would cost 25 of the appropriate shadow lair material, several hundred 4 and 5 star materials (same ones the other boss trophies use), and, of course, 4 of the other boss trophies. Also, I don't see why Seerus doesn't have his own line of trophies; a set of 3 items: Seerus Mask Fragment, Giant Gear (like the gear in that prestige mission with the battled fight), and culminating with the 'Seerus' Throne' trophy. These furniture pieces would be a good addition (with the throne being the best looking chair in the hall; it could have the option to be configured so that only Guild Masters can sit in it).

Guild Hall Arcade.

Yes, I know this has been suggested before. This is just my spin on it. There would be an option to buy an 'arcade room' for the guild hall after the war room is purchased. It has a separate mineral count from the default arcade, allowing guilds to customize the themes of the stratums at will. Now, I can already hear people saying "But Hortumal! You don't really mean to kill of the arcade even more, do you?" The honest answer is that I don't. However, the real reason to run the guild arcade is that for every 10 crowns you pick up, 1 goes into the guild treasury! In addition, when forming a party, you can add 'difficulty modifiers'. These make the monsters more difficult, but provide a greater number of bonus crowns for the guild treasury. Some ideas for difficulty modifiers:
• Danger Room: All monsters are increased in power to their danger room equivalents. +20% for treasury.
• Tier +1: Monsters are of the next tier. Does not function in tier 3. +10% crowns.
• Swift Monsters: Monsters move/attack 15% faster. +10% crowns.
• Tough Monsters: Monsters have +50% health, and healing monsters heal +50% as well. +10% crowns.
• Fierce Monsters: Monsters deal +50% damage. +10% crowns.
• No Sonic: Turns Sonic Mode OFF. +20% crowns.

These will provide a greater challenge for skilled players, whilst granting crowns to the guild treasury as well. These arcades would be open to people outside of the guild as well-good for those who want to try their hand at running an all-fire stratum gate that has been created-but the bonus crowns go to the guild who owns it.

More Furniture:

I've seen furniture items in the preview videos that we still don't have. Here are some ideas:
• The long benches you see in Candlestick Keep-maybe each bench can have 2 seating spots, letting 2 knights sit on the bench at a time.
• Braziers
• Clumps of fire
• Almost any other object that you can find in the clockworks

EXAMPLE RECIPE: FIRE TILE
• 10,000 crowns
• 10 Blast Powder
• 2 Blaze Pepper
• 1 Flame Soul

Monster Cages:

I'm pretty sure that this has been previously suggested, but I'll say it anyway. Monster cages would be furniture items that contain various non-boss monsters. They would likely take up a 2x2 or 3x3 space, and cost various amounts depending on the tier of the monster: 150,000 for tier 1, 500,000 for tier 2, and 1,000,000 for tier 3.

My thinking is that these will be cartable items instead-I find that while crowns are costly, plenty of players have leftover materials. A Furniture Alchemy Machine should be added (it could be a room, or built into the guild hall, gaining more recipes as the guild hall is expanded), where materials and crowns from the guild treasury are used to create shiny new items to spice up that old room

Better Rooms:

Right now, empty rooms can have 3 types of flooring: Default, Checkered, or Industrial. I say that is too limited. So, to steal a suggestion that has been said hundreds of times, we should get clockworks-themed rooms in our guild hall. In addition, there is no reason that hallways can't have better flooring (and cooler looking walls) then they do now. It would go well with the new clockworks-themed furniture as well.

Hall of Heroes Room:

The members of the Hall of Heroes have come to your guild hall to sell their wares! I suggest a room that has all the knights (and their recipes) from the Hall of Heroes. Since this is the easiest vendor area to get to (its right next to the guild halls, and can quickly be accessed from the missions tab), I suggest selling this room the low, low price of 20,000 crowns. Available from the very first wing expansion, it should give guild halls who can't afford many of the later expansions a shiny room to hang out in.

Mist Generator:

This pricey (100,000 crowns!) piece of furniture is a special unit not unlike the power cell on the armor of a Spiral Knight, siphoning mist energy from the atmosphere of Cradle to be transferred to the mist tank of a guild member. This item would only generate mist energy, creating 1 mist every 13.2 minutes, with a limit of 100 mist energy at one time. In addition, each mist generator is hooked up to the same source of mist; having more than 1 won't increase the amount of mist you get.

Bazaar Room:

How come Vatel gets their own room in the guild hall, yet poor Ricasso, Greave, and co are left out? While only 1% of players actually buy from some of these merchants, they have decided to set up shop in guild halls in hope of netting more sales. Their room can be bought for 100,000 crowns if at least 1 2nd floor expansion is owned, and is primarily a trophy room that decked out guild halls own to show their wealth.

Armor Racks:

These 50,000 crown pieces of furniture look at first like coat racks. However, when one is right-clicked in design mode, a GUI opens up with an armor or helm slot. Items in guild storage, the treasury, or the player's inventory can be dragged into these slots to equip the rack with the appropriate armor.

Player Statues:

These statues come in 2 different sizes: small and large. They are initially giant gun puppy statues, like Monomi in the Haven garden. The small statue costs 250,000 crowns and is player size, the large one costs 1,000,000 crowns and is 3x3 tiles. However, when selected in Design Mode by a guild master, they have the option to choose a player in the guild that the statue will look like. This player is sent a mail, and has to choose an armor, a helm, a shield, and a sword (last 2 optional) that they possess, as well as a short string of text that will appear when the statue is inspected by a player. Once this is done, 100,000 crowns are taken from the guild treasury, and the statue takes on the armor that the player selected.

Player Statues: copy actual

Player Statues:
copy actual wearin armor , slap stone texture on it , make overprice , chose a pose from a selection of pre set pose that you have to pay to see the first time like the floors and statues going blidly for the first guilds with too mutch money to spare who took all the battlestand to new guilds.
-BRILLIANT .. I WANT +43

Bazaar Room:
- TOKENS ... I WANT TOKENS IN MY GH +10

Mist Generator:
-ALL MY WANT if a player give 500 .. it automaticaly stop and time charge should be slower than a knight .. not faster .. or leecher kids will spend all day next to it ... i saw 2 guild bein destroyed by kids getting it , emptying the storange and mistwell i crafting then leaving (kid been perma ban tho)

Hall of Heroes Room:
=_= , no .. get out of the guild and walk 12 steps on the right

Better Rooms:
i would relaunch your idea by "THEMED GUILD HALL" , for 500k ~ 1m , change your guildhall to a themed clockwork area such as "jelly castle , deconstuction , concrete jungle , drugery store ect... , with any skybox/particle going with it such as snow / fire / poison / scarlet fortress / jelly field / treasure vault ect.... wich would make every guild have thier own elevental and structual theme making them unique .. and if a guild have a very high amount of spare cr .. they can just change the themes at ever events such as winterfest and haloween and ... +1

Monster Cages:
would work for 1x1 monster statues or just the monster tubes used in hall of heroes

Boss Trophies:
ALL MY WANT FOR SEERUS THRONE +1

More Furniture:
well i see those funiture bein more of a quick deploy than a plce to live .. there obviously should be more living like furnitures and maybe one of those computer box like we see at haven or computer tall display like we see at haven +1

Guild Hall Arcade:
do not want ... also what is sonic mode?

Sonic mode is named after the

Sonic mode is named after the Sonic the Hedgehog series. When you get hit, you drop all of your rings; if you get hit when you don't have any rings, you die. In Spiral Knights, you sometimes take a fraction of the damage you should when low in health. Kyros Quickfist made a video showcasing it here:

eyes trying to see the end to another end

=> Shadow Lair trophys

works, though I find it a waste to spend 25 "Nightmare Mane" to make a statue that is just a reskinned version of one of the bosses
but the Seerus throne is a good addition

=> "Guild Hall Arcade."

that part seems like the game "Bastion" offers to increase the difficulty of the game, increasing the reward, only that there is a sanctuary in which you invoke the gods
just remembering the bonuses on this game:

one leaves a "bomb" of each enemy killed in revenge, dealing damage if you walk near of the explosion (give additional 5% cash)
another makes opponents more rapids (+10%)
another allows the opponent to regenerate over time (+15%)
other increases damage (+10%)
further increases the resistance (+10%)
touch them harm you (+10%)
...

i like this idea, if you can choice what will change on the "guild dive" run
but only if you use the gates arcade as a reference

and can add news options, like:

shield regeneration lowered
sword/guns charge penalty
status resistance disabled
reduce flinch inflicted on the enemies
weapons (except mist bombs) status inflict disabled
...

=> "Hall of Heroes room"

... doesn't need, you can go everytime alone and will be waste of crowns and space to the guild
after all, any buyed recipe still bind on you

=> Mist Generator:

the question is:
who will got the 100 energy? that generator is done only for one person, not for entirely guild

and already have the Mist Well doing this service

=> Player Statues:
is a way to assign some gratification to a player who has contributed to the progress of the guild

I see no problems

.

i forget seem the anothers to comment, sorry ^^'

IMO

Boss trophies : Okay, I smell a contradiction in "some of the richer guilds were able to craft all of them in mere days", I was implying that you were gonna help the poorer guilds... In mere fact, huge guilds are rich and full of people able to craft the stuff... so if you think there is a need for more trophies, might be tough. I think it is more logical that you can upgrade a boss statue directly to a shadow lair variation... but 25 materials is... 7 shadow lair runs minimum. That's a lot of CE... still I don't see why not. The only reason why Seerus doesn't have a statue is because not everyone can afford to buy OCH, so please don't make that generalization...

Guild Hall Arcade sounds like a very exploitable edition of the clockworks. And the settings you put can create a lot of weird mechanism bugs too. Does one have to pay 10 energy too? Otherwise it sounds next to bad, because if you don't need to pay energy, you can farm out of it.

Monster cages : Has been mentioned, not sure of the outcome... I personally don't think it's possible. Peta will surely sue OOO if they did that :3

Hall of Heroes room : You already know why it's not implemented

Bazaar room : All the other Strangers are left out because they don't provide adequate service. They sell up to 2* (iirc) gear/recipes, so they are typically useless, especially in rich guilds where there are many vets.

Armor racks / Player statues : Manequuins

Mist generator : Exploit found... 100k for something that gives 1 energy every 5 minutes? You restore 1 energy every 13 minutes or so, typically and gradually, a mist generator will lead to profit, so it's not something worth while.

Anything else -- > http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/68467

TL;DR most of the suggestions are quite redundant, extra furniture and new room design are plausible

@zaffy-laffy:

about the guild hall arcade:

can be done by forcing the player to expend energy if change any configuration, causing the elevator pass does not work, after all, some guys just be looking to increase the risk/incentive to make a run at the arcade
and that was not what the board was looking for some way? something that would encourage players to go through the gates and that offers some advantage over the missions? that difficulty changer can be one of the ways and the only place where you will be able to confront with difficult bosses incremented, even on Shadow Lair (will have some crazy one trying this?)

if doesn't need pay for energy, only will become, by some way, a "test chamber":
no heat/crowns/mats
only test game mechanisms

something than can be done more easily in test servers to check the game balance

.

besides all, i disagree about the guild got your only "personal gate"
already have 4 gates to choice on arcade, how to define one's own? putting the 4 bosses in succession? is not fair
just put the minerals on arcade, like everyone and wish the anothers think more than just get more crowns for each mineral

OOO doesn't really do with profit, they look towards appealing to the public, which in general generates profit and satisfies the public. Win-win.
Technically if you make something available exclusively to one end only, you are gonna get a lot of ranting. Please, don't act smart and suggest that OOO does this for the money or whatsoever, because you are certainly wasting a lot of it on this game itself.

Oh I am sorry, did they charge you extra for the free winterfest boxes they are giving? And the surplus energy promotion? They are meant to promote the energy, and if you want those exclusive products, you have to buy them. But these are cosmetics, merely of less importance of the game. OCH was ranted on because of the exclusive ground-breaking hammer it provides...

Dude, do you realize they HAVE to give incentives (sure it's exclusive products), to actually cater to the free to play. During winterfest, there is a huge influx of new players, thus causing an increase in demand for energy. Everyone knows energy is very important, so they need to get buyers of energy. To increase the amount of buyers, they gave promotions (exclusive products + energy surplus), so that they can bring down the energy price. This became widely successful. Still note, this is to cater to the free to play, generally OOO still caters to everyone.

It doesn't matter they sold more, maybe they did, probably because they really HAVE to cater to free to play. You are a buyer too, I can tell, you need your crowns, where do you get them? From free to play players, of course. See the link?

since then i solowed winterfest t3 with my elevator pass and got over 45 humbugs

in matter of energy payment .. did not got any exept with the nemesis pack and bomber pack ... i dont see any link and stillc onsider myself f2p in the interfest condition since i didnt bough any raw ce since the nemesis pack came out and was on sale

i worked for my cr by solowing this thing and if i wouldn thave done it .. my guildhall would still be with only auction house and 1 floor on the right and 2 on the left

Zaffy-Laffy's picture
Zaffy-Laffy

So technically you still spent money into the game. By buying energy passes, you have clearly obtained crowns without the use of energy. It is as similar as buying CE without paying crowns. You obtained (and probably sold) your humbug hats, out of which is free from the elevator passes (but paid with real money)... Where do you sell it to, to the rest of the SK community. Technically you have provided a service (selling humbug hats), and in return you receive crowns.

So my previous statement : "You are a buyer too, I can tell, you need your crowns, where do you get them? From free to play players, of course. See the link?" is true. Players get their hats, you get your crowns, OOO gets their money. Where is the exclusive product, your humbug hats are, your winter wish tokens are. If you think you are not a f2p by not buying ce and selling them, you have to rethink that.

Hortumal Returns!

Back to elaborate!

Armor Racks: I never meant them to be like statues outfitted in armor, but like suits of armor hanging from the walls of the guild hall. Think of the end of the danger mission Ghosts in the Machine, with the rock jelly armor sets hanging from the walls.

Mist Generator: 1 unit of mist energy every 5 minutes is a small amount, especially with a large guild with 300 members. I intended for it to only unlock as a purchasable item after at least 1 5F floor is purchased-by then the upkeep will be high enough that the upkeep money would be better suited for buying CE. On second thought though, that is 103,680 mist a week; I'll reduce it to 1 mist every 13.2 minutes, like a player.

Vendors, Hall of Heroes: Yes, I know that they are useless in guild halls; I just proposed them as ideas for 'collectionists', and for those with small guild halls who want to have more rooms than the AH and Alchemy rooms.

Also, guild hall updates have made some of the suggestions irrelevant.
