As most of you suggestions-crawlers know, my mega-thread for the first Guild Hall Upgrades has been, even in some indirect way, successful.
Therefore, in an attempt to stop all the clutter from people with one-line suggestions, I'm creating a new thread of what hasn't been added, that I think really should have been!
Nick has said that GH updates/tweaks will continue to be added as long as the interest in them remains (Post #24) Oh, and one more note. I don't actually have all the current GH Upgrades, so if I list something that they actually DID add, be sure to let me know to remove it.
So without further adieu, GH Upgrades 2.0.

1 - Change of location. Several maps would be present (Previewable) in the shop, instead of always the current Guild Hall. I would assume that these would be themed similarly to the dungeons. I.E "Aurora Isles" themed Halls, "Devilish Drudgery" themed Halls, etc.
1.5 - Change of Location By Room (Suggested by Autofire). Instead of changing the ENTIRE Guild Hall to one theme or another - to add even more uniqueness to each individual Hall, Autofire has suggested that each room have an isolated theme. This way, you could have an Aurora Isles room, right next to a Devilish Drudgery room in the same Hall.
The Halls themselves, including other areas of the Guild Hall, would be customizable as well. Outside of rooms and halls, it's likely that the majority of the Guild Hall would remain one theme. Wouldn't want psychedelic Guild Halls, would we?
2 - Bulletin Board (Suggested by Skold-The-Drac). A cheap but useful Guild board, editable only by the Guild Master (The Guild Master may choose to change the board to be editable by Officers), in which Guild notices, events, etc. would be viewable. Simple but essential for large guilds that have many players with different timezones in it. I suggest there be different Titles for each bulletin placed on the board. Meaning, when the GM creates it, he may choose "Guild Notice", "Dungeon Crawl Event" or "PvP Event". This way before even reading the notice, you'd know what it's about.
2.5 - Bulletin Board Idea #2 (Suggested by Hexzyle). "Bulletin Board could operate like a forum, which would be fairly simple looking at how mail and the auction house works. Guildmasters could edit what ranks are allowed to create threads, and what ranks are allowed to post in threads. Guildmaster threads and posts appear in highlight (UV yellow colour) while officer's threads and posts appear in green."
"...it [would have] the same interface as the mailbox, except each "message" is a different thread, opening a thread would reveal several different people's comments, then a space to place your own at the bottom. The "message/thread" could then be minimised by clicking the bar of it, just like your mail." - Hexzyle
The Guild Masters/Officers would be the only people who could post new threads up on the board, but anyone would be able to reply to them (Unless they were locked of course).
"Or if that's not possible, the Bulletin Board could work almost EXACTLY the same as your inbox, just publicly readable." -- Hexzyle
2.7 - Mass Mail (Suggested by Aumir & many others). Inside the Bulletin board would be an option to Mail All Guild Members a message. At a flat rate of 200 CR to send a Mass Message (If it fits, it ships!), only Officers+ (OR as adjusted by the Guild Master(s)) may send Mass Messages.
NOTE: Yes, I realize there is a Guild MOTD. However, it is my understanding that a Bulletin Board would be much more functional than a simple MOTD. For emergency situations or to get people's attention who never participate in the Bulletin Board, it could be more useful to mass-mail.
3 - Display Cases. I have modified this idea to not require Guild Elevators, and have removed Guild Elevators from the thread. I want to see what you guys think about this without them.
The Display Cases would now work simply. They would hold, and display, the artifacts you find from Boss Rooms and such. To put your artifacts on display, you need at least 4 people to deposit their artifacts inside the case. Once 4+ people have deposited their artifacts, the artifact would become available for public display. Until at least 4 people deposit artifacts, the display case would be empty.
Furthermore, after 4+ people have deposited artifacts, you can show off even more by depositing more artifacts into it. Upon going to the Display case, it would have a Gold Plate with a number on it. The number would change based on how many artifacts have been deposited into it.
The Display Cases would be in 2 parts: The first would be all the normal artifacts. Snarbolax, Twins, Jelly King, and Vanaduke. The second Display Case upgrade would only encase the artifacts that were obtained when completing a Shadow Dungeon. Darkfire Vanaduke, Ice Queen, etc.
4 - Guild Crests (Suggested by Skold-The-Drac). The Guild Crest upgrade is basically all that it says. After purchase, upon entering the Hall, you'd see the Crest in many places. Possibly rugs hanging from the ceiling with the crest on it, a large Guild Crest on the floor, etc. The Guild Crest would be a modifiable crest, and would be created upon purchase (That is, after purchase it'd immediately bring up the Crest customization screen). In the customization screen, the colors available would be Royal Jelly Purple, Gremlin Orange, Lichen Yellow, Soul Lichen Cyan, Love Puppy Pink, Jelly Green Giant Green, Lumber Brown, Ice Cube Blue, and Super Blast Cube Red.
But that's not the end to its grandeur, because what's the point in a Crest if your guild is the only one that gets to see it? Personal Guild Crests would be able to be bought from Kozma (To avoid confusion, they would not be bought from "Rudkin") on a player basis. These crests may or may not be accessories. The crest would be placed most likely on your chestpiece, and would feature your Guild's customized and unique crest.
Finally, Autofire has pointed out the Crests would have to be removed when you are either kicked or you leave your Guild. I have come up with some ways to program this (Though I know nothing of programming, just some thoughts).
1: The Removal of the item from your inventory/armor altogether.
2: A dynamic crest which always updates to your newest Guild. Once bought, you never lose this Crest, it's just dynamic and always switches to your Guild's Emblem. When not in a Guild, the crest would automate to a default color or colors.Not sure how feasible these are, but that's all I can think of.
4.5 - Guild Crests (Additional Upgrades). Originally, these upgrades would come with Guild Achievements, but with the removal of Guild Elevators, they are now bought as an expansion to the Guild Crest upgrade.
The Guild Crests, as stated before, will be based on the icons seen in the Clockworks (The stage emblems, I.E Knight, Pawn, Crown, etc.). However, not ALL icons will be available at first. Once purchased, your crests will be able to feature all of the following (Once all upgrades are purchased, *ALL* emblems seen in the clockworks will be available to use in your crest):
Extra Color Palette, Snipe Emblem, Boss Stage Emblem (This includes the Skull, but also includes all the levels going up to a boss. I.E Roarmulus Stage Emblems, RJP Stage Emblems, Gloaming Wildwoods, ETC.), Cross-swords Emblem, The Core's Emblem, and finally, Shadow Lair's Emblem.
If deemed by feedback, I was thinking to segregate these further, for instance: Extra Color Palette Upgrade, X CR X CE, Snipe Emblem Upgrade, X CR X CE, etc. Currently, one upgrade buys them all.
Most of these are self-explanatory, but the Extra color palette will feature a wider array of colors to choose from, to enhance customization options (See 4 for basic colors). The additional colors that you will be able to choose from will be as follows: Ultra Blast Cube Purple, Rock Jelly Grey, Void Gel Black, Core White, Sloom Blue, Quicksilver Silver, Toxigel Green (Darker than Jelly Green Giant green), Punkin King Orange, and finally Swordstone Red.
5 - Records (Suggested by Mwahahaha): A little neat upgrade for the Guild Hall, in respect to Bookshelves. Once purchased, a devilite-style bookshelf would appear in your "Rec Room" (Which would literally be any place there is room for it; the un-used area of your GH which likely has furnishings in it), and would contain dun dun DUNNNN records. Wait, you guessed that? Dang.
Within these records lie personal information (Not that personal, it's not a diary) of each Guild Member therein. For instance, upon clicking the Bookshelf (Or whatever interface it uses, probably the Action button), you would see a series of books. A window that would contain, in alphabetical order, books with all the Knights' names on them that are in the Guild.
Once you have clicked on said book of whichever Knight you wish to view, a little bit of information about that Knight would appear. Furthermore, there would be tabs at the side of the "book" interface which would allow you to switch to different tabbed sections. Allow me to illustrate.

(!): Got this idea to (mayyybe) increase incentive for Donating to the Guild. It may change to "Month" because of the likely typical donation rate. I think it'd be a great addition, especially for promotions.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*Any or all of these Records may be isolated and programmed into the game at OOO's discretion - none of the Records are reliant on other records, and can be manipulated in any way. Above is merely an example.
The last tab would feature screenshots, a photo album of sorts, that the player has taken. It could go on indefinitely, but OOO will likely have an image limit.
Fairly simple, amirite? Yay for neat features.
The tabs would go on the right-most part of the page, and there would be three. (/Overall Guild Info\), (/Basic Info\) and (/Screenshots\), to conveniently switch between the Photo Album and the other guild information.
NOTE: All Pages are relevant to their Tabs. Meaning, Overall Guild Info has pages 1+ in its tab, but Basic Info also starts at Page 1. You may think of them as "Separate books" for all intents and purposes. This makes it easier for Archiving, screenshotting, the works.
You may ask: "But how could I upload screenshots into my Photo Album?".
My answer: whenever a Screenshot is taken, you get an "Alert" Message (Like when someone trades you). This message would *not* appear in front of your screen, but instead would only appear as an Alert Bubble Icon on the top-left with an exclamation point (As when you "Hide" a trade request). Once clicked, the message would appear:
"Would you like this Screenshot uploaded to your Photo Album?"
Obviously, saying "Yes" will upload it, and saying "No" will ignore it.
Amendment to #5 (Suggested by Serell): Autobiography page. A page (Or up to X amount of pages) reserved for your own bio that you could write whatever you wanted it. A "Report Bio" function may be necessary as a safety precaution.
The amendment may require moderation, however...which would get annoying.
6 - Armory (Suggested by Mwahahaha): Mwahahaha: "The Armoury would be a collection of gear, armour, and weapons (for a guild, mind you) inside the GH where guildmembers would be able to, at their leisure 'take something out for a spin'.
The equipment inside would consists of anything donated by guildmembers for the entire guild to use, in addition to finished equipment that could be purchased via the supply depot or a vendor or sorts (be it a knight, a stranger or a devilite, etc), and would be connected to the training hall (or a seperate version of the TH) so that knights could run around and test out their newfound toy. As an added bonus, once a piece of equipment is added to the Armoury, every guildmember would be able to take that equipment from the armoury and simultaneously test it--now that would lead to some interesting times, possibly guild events, now wouldn't it?
As a side note, any equipment added to the Armoury cannot be retracted unless the guild is disbanded. Perhaps the GM(s) could authorize the withdrawal/refund for the weapon?"
Clarifications:
1: Severage: "Once you withdraw a piece of gear, be it armor or weapon, the weapon would have a light-blue (Like, baby blue, really light) around the icon in your inventory, rather than the themed darker blue color in the UI (Where the Star Rating is, that whole area would be baby blue instead of the darker color). On this slab, rather than much open space, the white emboldened letters would appear: "Training" or possibly, "Testing", and would be removed from your inventory (or unusable, whichever is easier) when you entered the Clockworks or a LD locker room. Only in the training area of the improved GH, or the TH, would they be usable."
1.5: Mwahahaha: "in addition to whichever method OOO chooses to differentiate the weapons as training-only, if a knight decided to try and leave the Training Hall with the item, a warning would pop up and inform them that once they leave the Training Area, the weapon will no longer be in their Inventory/Loadout."
2: Severage: "[Mwahahaha] defined that members would donate their weapon to be a simulation item - possibly permanently. This is a steep price to pay for a single member, one that undoubtedly the Officer + ranks would get together to complete, rather than random members. Concerning this, I would say that a flat fee from our trusty Rudkin NPC for each star rating would suffice.
Examplemonkey:
Simulation Guns 1*: X CE, X CR; Simulation Guns 2*: X CE, X CR;
Simulation Swords 1*: X CE, X CR...and so on and so forth.This way, the whole guild would donate to the vault, deciding which simulations to perform first, and then the guild as a whole could purchase these upgrades, rather than relying on the rich people or leaders. I did not want to segregate these further, so as to say, Guns (Elemental) 1*, Guns (Shadow) 1*, etc.; I find that unnecessary...though I would put helmets and armor pieces in their own categories."
2.5: Mwahahaha: " I feel that the option of donating a weapon could still remain open for those who are either starting a guild and would like to flesh their GH out a little before recruiting (more revenue for OOO if said to-be-GM buys CE to do so), or if someone is feeling rather guild-friendly. In said case, if the guild was disbanded, the method of returning the items to the rightful owner could be implemented."
NOTE:: These weapons could now only be available inside the GH Training area if you had one; the GH Training area could now be a prerequisite to owning the Armory.
7 - Design Mode Changes: (Brought up in the official feedback thread).
"So the new guild hall is looking nice, but a "veteran" comes in and does design mode, and leaves the design in a mess. They can't publish, and we have no "reset to current" button for the design.
Feature request: "reset to current", and a "undo history". -- Nattss
A reset to current or undo history would be nice features; alternatively, there could be a way to leave the Guild Hall while in Design mode & re-enter without any changes happening, I.E. without saving the new changes.
8 - Scenic Room (Suggested by Klipik): The new Guild Hall is great, but it did remove something. The view of the Clockworks that was the one and only reason you'd ever go to your Guild Hall prior to the update, was removed. Maybe, GMs willing, we can have our cake and eat it too.
A purchasable Scenic Room at the forefront of your Guild Hall (Likely top floor) that would allow you to look down into the Clockworks, changing the camera view downward toward the Clockworks below.
9 - Guild Hall Alchemy Machine: The ability to purchase plants, snipes, and furnishings is a great crown sink, but goes against what Spiral Knights does most of the time. Honestly, I didn't think of this until after the 1st update. My bad!
Anyway, this Alchemy Machine would work like Sullivan's Alchemy Machine, but of course having the same restrictions as the Guild Vault, with just a couple differences.
First of all, all the Furnishings (Chairs, Benches, Dressers, Snipes, Plants) would be craftable. A bit differently than solely using the Vault, these would cost both CR and Materials. I was going to include Mist but then I realized the Vault doesn't use CE. Silly me.
So, the crown cost would be a little bit cheaper than it is now by directly purchasing it from the vault. However, it would cost many materials. For instance: 10 Iron Wood, 5 Red Wood, a few Shards, and maybe some miscellaneous furniture-specific materials based on what it is. For instance, Snipes could require Owlite and/or Philoso Feathers.
The purpose: To add a viable material sink (Really these things need a market - they're so useless) with uncommonly used materials to the Guild Hall Updates.
10 - Mist Well Retrieval Limits (Inspired by Solo Art, 'my' Guild): My Guild has a slight problem with the Mist Well. Some administrative powers are needed on it. Currently, we have deemed not to use the Mist Well at all until absolutely necessary.
Now, there's no reason not to help your fellow Guild Recruits and Members out, but most of all we're afraid one new guildie is going to walk in there like: "Woot! Unlimited Rage Crafting!" and take it all for himself. If one takes too much, what can we do? All we can do is kick him from the Guild. If he just joined, that's not really a loss for him at all. He just made a bunch of money potentially.
Therefore, I request that Mist Retrieval limits be added. Or, if that's not possible, complete restrictions on some ranks. It can either work like: Recruit Limit: X Mist, Member Limit: X Mist, etc. OR work like: Recruit: Disabled/Enabled, Member: Disabled/Enabled, etc.
Personally, if it's possible, I think limitations would be more robust than restrictions. But whichever way works - right now it's only for 'Emergency Use' when people are out of Mist and we want to do a speed run or something.
10.5 - Mist Well Withdrawal Input (From Misten's thread). This would allow you to input however much Mist you want withdrawn into your inventory. Currently, though I was unaware due to not using it, it fills your tank all the way up regardless. This can be wasteful if you don't have enough time to play and don't have a 2* recipe to burn the rest of the mist.
So, either a way to input X Amount of Mist to Withdraw, or (As Irthan suggested in Misten's thread), buttons for 10 ME, 50 ME, and Fill Mist Tank.
11 - Mini-Game Room (Suggested by Addisond & others). A mini-game room where you can sit down at a table and play a game of Checkers or other simple games that don't take much to program. It could pass the time for those F2P diehards that sit around in Haven (Or maybe the GH now) waiting for that last 5 mist before they can make another run.
Personally I'm not too fond of having something that distracts from Spiral Knights altogether, but enough people wanted it that I added it in.
12 - Kicking: Concerning "Banning" visitors from your Guild Hall: The Guild Master and Officers would be able to Ban members from your Hall (If they are being disruptive). The GM/Officers may only ban visitors from the Guild Hall, not members of the Guild. If a member of the Guild were being disorderly, the GM/Officers would simply kick him from the Guild. Once banned, visitors may not enter the Guild they were banned from for 2 hours.
Blacklisting (Suggested by Hexzyle): This could either replace kicking or accompany it. I'd think it'd be either/or though. Blacklisting is, as you may have guessed, almost identical to kicking, except the expelled visitor would never be able to re-enter the Guild Hall until removed from the list.
Ban Pardoning (Suggested by Hexzyle): 'The victim of the ban may be pardoned by the GM/Officer who banned him. All he would do is right-click: Pardon, and he would be able to return to the Guild Hall.'
The Guild Master(s) would be able to pardon anyone.
Vault Log Revision Storage Log: This can work the way it does now or be condensed into lists of player contributions. So, instead of:
Exampleknight has donated 1 Scrap Metal.
Exampleknight has donated 1 Scrap Metal.
Exampleknight has donated 1 Red Wood.It would just say "Exampleknight has donated (2) Scrap Metal, (1) Red Wood [Space here for other materials donated] this week." The list could extend as far as necessary. This way, instead of a new notification every time someone donates a piece of scrap, you can more conveniently see who donated what and how much without having to count it all out with your own list.
The Treasury Log would be split into two logs. The first being - Treasury (Weekly):
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Donated] Examplemonkey #1 Weekly Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Donated] Examplemonkey #2 Weekly Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Donated] Examplemonkey #3 Weekly Contribution: XX,XXX CRThis way you would only need 1 ongoing notice for that particular member. If said member has not donated at all, he would not have any notice. If he donates multiple times, it stacks into one notice of "Weekly Contribution". The second being - Treasury (Total):
[Last Date of Contribution if Necessary] Examplemonkey #1 Total Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date of Contribution if Necessary] Examplemonkey #2 Total Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date of Contribution if Necessary] Examplemonkey #3 Total Contribution: XX,XXX CRTotal may or may not be necessary altogether, leaving just Weekly Contributions. I'd like to see feedback on that.
Regrettably, I can think of no ways to condense the Membership/Promotions Log. Upkeep Logs need no revision because they only happen once a week. Similarly, Guild Hall Logs (MOTD Updates and Publishing) happen too infrequently to require revision.
Mist Logs can be reworked to Weekly Mist Logs, just like the Weekly Treasury Logs. It would include both Contribution and Obtaining from the Mist Well. Finally, there would be a weekly expenditure log.
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Purchased Furniture] Examplemonkey #1 Total Spending: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Purchased Furniture] Examplemonkey #2 Total Spending: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Purchased Furniture] Examplemonkey #3 Total Spending: XX,XXX CRA list of the furnishings purchased by said Examplemonkies could be presented.
GTH Tweak #1 (Suggested by multitudes). The shooting range was in my first thread before I deleted it, similar to Auction Houses, etc. I find it a bit funny that these things were added in. Anyway, I digress.
The GTH needs to be tweaked a bit. The Shooting Range targets are too far away for most guns, and there is no way to track your score. They're just...targets. Instead of making ragefaces at our targets that we can't reach, and trying to be competitive but failing epicly due to no way to track our scores, why not add this functionality?
GTH Tweak #2 (From my first thread). PvP Training! Srsly, need this. There's no way to simulate Lockdown in ANY area of the game for one. So you have to pay to practice any LD at all. The crowns needed for this upgrade will subsidize the crowns saved by practicing LD. In addition, if people were more confident in their skill, they'd probably play more and find it more enjoyable, which would, in long terms, increase the crown sink.
For two, a Guild Vs Self type of PvP would be really fun. It seems appropriate to me that it would be inside the Guild Training Hall. I don't think it would be so hard to set up, the functionality is already there for Guild Queues - there'd just need to be one for your Training Hall.
Blast Network could also be added just for fun - though it is much less popular.
Also - See the Armory suggestion (#6) note for another possible GTH tweak.
GTH Tweak #3 [UNDER REVIEW] (Brought up by Canyew, developed by myself). Hazard Room. I haven't thoroughly discussed with anyone the intricacies of such a room, so this is just ad-libbing until I get some feedback.
What I had in mind was a fairly-sized (Think Vanaduke's boss room or an Arena stage's arena) room with a console at the northward end. Using this console will bring up an interface for the monsters you wish to fight.
The idea is a mix & match machine that would be able to spawn enemies based on variable specifications. There would be three separate columns... The first would be the element you wish to fight. Shock, Fire, Curse, etc. The next column would be the family you wish to fight. Construct, Slime, Beast, etc. The final one would have two different kinds of difficulty selections - one on a scale from 1 - 5, and the other based on your Tier.
For instance, I could select Shocking enemies, then select Construct, then select Tier 3, difficulty level 5. After selecting to Start the simulation, random enemies fitting within these criteria would spawn around the room. Electrodes, Shock Puppies, Shocking Scuttlebots, you get the idea. They would also have to be Tier 3, and the difficulty level would simply adjust the rate of spawning.
These numbers are not concrete, but for theoretical purposes only. Say difficulty level 1 spawned two enemies every 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, another two enemies would spawn, and so on.
At level 2, you could see 3 enemies spawn every 15 seconds.
At level 3, you could see 5 enemies spawn every 15 seconds.
At level 4, you could see 5 enemies spawn every 15 seconds, but toward the end, the spawn rate would happen much faster. Say, 5-10 seconds.
At level 5, you could see 5 enemies spawn every 15 seconds, more difficult enemies would spawn (Less Scuttlebots, more rocket puppies or somesuch), and the rate of spawning would increase as time went on.Obviously at level 5, after a few minutes, spawns would be pretty crazy. These are all, once again, hypothetical numbers and balancing would have to be established at a later time, but, keep in mind that virtually any number of players could be in the Hazard Room at any given time, like the ATH. For this reason, the highest level of difficulty would preferably not be soloable after a couple minutes.
NOTES: #1: The session of training would go on indefinitely until all players are killed. Players would not be able to ressurect during the training session, but immediately afterward, simply by clicking with their mouse, just like in the ATH.
#2: The session may be cancelled via the console at any time, by any Member or higher by the Guild, and may only be started by any Member or higher in the Guild. This is for bad trolls. Upon being cancelled, an instant "Kill-Order" would be given to all enemies that would play their death animation and despawn them.
#3: The gate to leave the Hazard Room would be open at all times. A Kill-Order would be issued once all players have left the Hazard Room. Again, this is for bad trolls who may be in the guild. Note #2 may or may not be necessary with this addition, feedback appreciated.
#4: Since apparently this isn't obvious, monsters here drop nothing. No crowns, materials, heat, nothin'. It's the training hall, not an unlimited arena.
12 - Tip Jar: (Suggested by Psychodestroyer). The ability for visiting players from other guilds to donate to the host Guild's vault via a "Tip Jar". The Tip Jar would have a total donation count, but the individual players who tipped would be anonymous.
The Guild Master would be able to move the tip jar's money to the vault at any point. The records would show it as a deposit from the Tip Jar.
"X Crowns has been deposited via the Tip Jar." The Tip Jar's minimum increment could be either 100 or 1,000 crowns. The maximum increment is 10,000 crowns.This is for those times when you walk in a guild and are like "Whoa yo cray cray up in dis crib ya got mo bling dan ma mama in heeya mang" and want to give them a thousand crowns or so.
13 - Lights & Additional Furnishings: (Suggested by Autofire, Blandaxt, Effrul, Canyew and others).
I've come up with a list of the coolest furnishings. See contributor quotes at the end of this section for extra details.1. A computer or a Lava Lamp that you can place on tables,
2. A potted tree (Like the trees of Aurora Isles but smaller, and can be put on tables) for the corner of the room, and other potted foliage like flowers etc.,
3.More colors for the Lamps,
4. Fireplaces for those Christmas-time evenings,
5. Party Decor, such as balloons, cakes, or other re-usable items that can be used to spice up festivities.
6. Waterworks, such as Knight spitting water-fountains, small decorative and non-interact-able pools, etc.
7. Statues, just like the Love Puppy in Haven park, as well as other pre-existing statue models that should be purchasable.
8. Torch-Lighting, for the dungeon-esque feel in your themed Guild Hall, you could have torches light the pathways.
9. Lights*.
10. Documents/Books. Who doesn't like that devilite-esque quality to their desk?
11. Sofas, Benches, Tables, Beds (+Bunkbeds) and Desks (See clarification below)**.
12. Buckets of minerals/Clutter Some little buckets with shards inside, with shards lying in the close vicinity.
13. Workbenches (Like those gremlin ones with various tools, etc.).
14. Weapon Props ('Fake' weapons that would rest on various furnishings, or be placed on them).
15. Official Walls (For splitting rooms without needing to use potted plants or other furnishings to block paths. The walls would look just like all the other walls in the Hall).**: These would come in multiple sizes (I.E. 1x2, 2x2, etc.), for decorating, and of course utilizing. Being more fancy and/or sizable furnishings, these would cost a little more.
Canyew - "Make it so you can buy [a piece of furniture] and just change its color on demand (For example, instead of a "Modular red table" it would be just a "Modular table" that you can change the color of by holding the table using a button to change the color back and forth before placing it. This would make things A LOT simpler, as well as less mistakes when decorating (like buying the wrong furniture))"
Autofire - "A spotlight and a lamp like the ones you see at party buttons and elevators in the clockworks would be cool too. Stuff like that would let us control what gets lit up better."
Blandaxt & Effrul have suggested purchasable Mecha Knights as security patrols and Retrodes that act as cleaning drones throughout the Guild Hall that walk around. If nothing else, to give a little life to a Guild Hall if it's empty.
Finally, (this is under Guild Crests but I thought I'd stress it here), there should be Rugs, Tapestries, Murals/Pictures, Plaques and/or other wall/ceiling/floor decorations. These decorations could be preset images, but it'd be really cool if tapestries and rugs especially had the dynamic Guild Crest image on them. It would make Guild Halls much more unique to have dynamic furnishings.
Lil bits of awesomeness: Finally, I'm going to tag these in here.
Jukebox (Suggested by Mirtsmak/Hexzyle). A "machine" that would play BGMs in the Guild Hall, which all Guildmates' within the Hall would hear. It costs 5 Crowns to select a song, and 5 crowns to change it. After spending 30 Crowns on the machine, you wouldn't be able to change it for an hour.
Amendment to Jukebox: (Suggested by Windsickle). The only music you would be able to play in the Jukebox are the themes you have visited in the Clockworks. The songs would be locked until then.
Clarifications to Amendment:
Question #1: So, if I can't change the song anymore, and nobody does, and the track ends, then what? It's just nothing?
Answer #1: No, the last chosen track will loop indefinitely until changed. If you're content with that track, just leave it there, don't worry about limited loops.
Question #2: How would all Guildmates hear the music when changed? How could a Guild Jukebox track the entire Guild's music themes if only one person is changing it? Sounds like too much programming and behind-the-scenes work.
Answer #2: In all honesty, it does. It could very well be a personal thing. The jukebox could be there, and play the music just for you instead of all players. That way, it could also track the themes you've unlocked.
(Possible Epic Achievement): Jukebox Hero. There are two Prerequisites:
1. Play every song in the Jukebox at least once.
2. Have Stars in your eyes (If you didn't get the joke...don't worry about it...).And finally...
Guild Hall Day! (Inspired by Mwahahaha's vernacular): November the 14th, the release of the Guild Hall Update, has changed Guild Halls from a neglected area somewhere out in space, that nobody knows how to get to aside from teleporting, to a very large castle-like social party room.
In commemoration of OOO's awesome update, Nov. 14th should be a Spiral Knights holiday, where Guild events are released every year on its anniversary. Just thought that'd be cool.
It doesn't have to be big or anything like that. Even a notification without any event on SK's homepage saying "NOV. 14th, Guild Hall Expansion Day!" would be really cool I think.
FINAL NOTE: Probably about half of this was Copy/Pasted from my original thread. I edited a lot of it to fit with the new release, but if you see any inconsistencies that I didn't edit out, do say something!
Feedback appreciated!
when i mean accessories for the guild, i mean things like a light over head or having a random robo helper walking around to make things intresting.
so here are my thoughts. have some accessories for the guild that we can buy using the emporium have animations that come with them. example is after you buy a hologram pc (example), you can put this pc on a table where after a knights gets near the table wether that knights is sitting on a chair or standing by the table can interact with the hologram pc and look like he or she is typing. this animation would be like the animation that happens when a knight is looking at the ce prices or equiping a weapon.
some other accessories that come for furniture or just for the guild would be: lamp that creates floting bubles activates on interaction, a book a knight could grab and look like he/she is reading it, some kind of drink in a mug or cup if the knights drink anything?, a pedilum that activates on interaction, and many more.
some other ideas i have is for there to be more emphasis on the animations when interacting with the current furniture that is available. exampels are:
Bed: when interacting with the bed, the knights does not only lay there but after sometime, the knight will turn or put the covers on. the covers do not have to be perfect, so regardless of the armor the knight is wearing, it will just show the lower part of the knights body covered.
chairs: when sitting on a chair, have different siting animations when the player is not interacting with anything. some animations are thinking where the knights will look up while scartching his head. another animation is bored where the knight is putting his head towards the floor. not all armors that the knigt is wearing will look good with this animation.
some other interaction knights can have with the current guild furniture is when next to a container, have the knight be able to open it up as if looking for something then closing it after done. (it would be nice if we could actually use them as small conatiners that hold up to 2 sets of the same type of equipment, like 2 guns, 2 helms, 2 swords and so on. it would have a label and can only be accessed based if it's only for officers/guild masters storage or for all general members. just a side idea.)
when next to a stand, have an interaction that tells you who it belongs to. this would show as a representation that such and such player contributed to the guild and a date when it was contributed.
when next to a dresser, (i do not know if they have an animation for it.) have an animation taht lets a knight open it up, make it look like he is looking at a celection of costumes that the knight could wear. if possible, again, i would like the dresser to have a specific function where a knight could store a number of costumes inside the dresser which other knights in the guild would be able to wear base on if the dresser is for geenral memebrs of the guild or just for officers/guild masters.
when next to a table, have the view of the camera change to a first person view so that if two knights where in the opposite side of the table, they would be able to see each other in first person view. this would go well if both knigts were sitting down on a chair and if there was an accessory (i described what a furniture accessory is on the top) at that table where a knight will look like he/she is busy performing a task.
i would like if possible to make almost all interaction with any item turn the camera to first person view, but if only on the table that will be fine.
be able to preview any item that is buyable besides upgrades. examples are furniture, snipes, and others (this was sugested in another thread, which i do not rremeber the name :P).
last but not least, make a way that a guild can change the theme of a particular (this is described above, but i would like to emphasized it.) room where it will look like were looking at a scenery. before the guild update, the old guild room had a scenery like stand where when a knight aproaches the edge of the stand, the camera view would change and it would look like the knight is staring far into the distance.
