Guild Hall Upgrades - V2.0

As most of you suggestions-crawlers know, my mega-thread for the first Guild Hall Upgrades has been, even in some indirect way, successful.
Therefore, in an attempt to stop all the clutter from people with one-line suggestions, I'm creating a new thread of what hasn't been added, that I think really should have been!
Nick has said that GH updates/tweaks will continue to be added as long as the interest in them remains (Post #24) Oh, and one more note. I don't actually have all the current GH Upgrades, so if I list something that they actually DID add, be sure to let me know to remove it.
So without further adieu, GH Upgrades 2.0.

1 - Change of location. Several maps would be present (Previewable) in the shop, instead of always the current Guild Hall. I would assume that these would be themed similarly to the dungeons. I.E "Aurora Isles" themed Halls, "Devilish Drudgery" themed Halls, etc.
1.5 - Change of Location By Room (Suggested by Autofire). Instead of changing the ENTIRE Guild Hall to one theme or another - to add even more uniqueness to each individual Hall, Autofire has suggested that each room have an isolated theme. This way, you could have an Aurora Isles room, right next to a Devilish Drudgery room in the same Hall.
The Halls themselves, including other areas of the Guild Hall, would be customizable as well. Outside of rooms and halls, it's likely that the majority of the Guild Hall would remain one theme. Wouldn't want psychedelic Guild Halls, would we?
2 - Bulletin Board (Suggested by Skold-The-Drac). A cheap but useful Guild board, editable only by the Guild Master (The Guild Master may choose to change the board to be editable by Officers), in which Guild notices, events, etc. would be viewable. Simple but essential for large guilds that have many players with different timezones in it. I suggest there be different Titles for each bulletin placed on the board. Meaning, when the GM creates it, he may choose "Guild Notice", "Dungeon Crawl Event" or "PvP Event". This way before even reading the notice, you'd know what it's about.
2.5 - Bulletin Board Idea #2 (Suggested by Hexzyle). "Bulletin Board could operate like a forum, which would be fairly simple looking at how mail and the auction house works. Guildmasters could edit what ranks are allowed to create threads, and what ranks are allowed to post in threads. Guildmaster threads and posts appear in highlight (UV yellow colour) while officer's threads and posts appear in green."
"...it [would have] the same interface as the mailbox, except each "message" is a different thread, opening a thread would reveal several different people's comments, then a space to place your own at the bottom. The "message/thread" could then be minimised by clicking the bar of it, just like your mail." - Hexzyle
The Guild Masters/Officers would be the only people who could post new threads up on the board, but anyone would be able to reply to them (Unless they were locked of course).
"Or if that's not possible, the Bulletin Board could work almost EXACTLY the same as your inbox, just publicly readable." -- Hexzyle
2.7 - Mass Mail (Suggested by Aumir & many others). Inside the Bulletin board would be an option to Mail All Guild Members a message. At a flat rate of 200 CR to send a Mass Message (If it fits, it ships!), only Officers+ (OR as adjusted by the Guild Master(s)) may send Mass Messages.
NOTE: Yes, I realize there is a Guild MOTD. However, it is my understanding that a Bulletin Board would be much more functional than a simple MOTD. For emergency situations or to get people's attention who never participate in the Bulletin Board, it could be more useful to mass-mail.
3 - Display Cases. I have modified this idea to not require Guild Elevators, and have removed Guild Elevators from the thread. I want to see what you guys think about this without them.
The Display Cases would now work simply. They would hold, and display, the artifacts you find from Boss Rooms and such. To put your artifacts on display, you need at least 4 people to deposit their artifacts inside the case. Once 4+ people have deposited their artifacts, the artifact would become available for public display. Until at least 4 people deposit artifacts, the display case would be empty.
Furthermore, after 4+ people have deposited artifacts, you can show off even more by depositing more artifacts into it. Upon going to the Display case, it would have a Gold Plate with a number on it. The number would change based on how many artifacts have been deposited into it.
The Display Cases would be in 2 parts: The first would be all the normal artifacts. Snarbolax, Twins, Jelly King, and Vanaduke. The second Display Case upgrade would only encase the artifacts that were obtained when completing a Shadow Dungeon. Darkfire Vanaduke, Ice Queen, etc.
4 - Guild Crests (Suggested by Skold-The-Drac). The Guild Crest upgrade is basically all that it says. After purchase, upon entering the Hall, you'd see the Crest in many places. Possibly rugs hanging from the ceiling with the crest on it, a large Guild Crest on the floor, etc. The Guild Crest would be a modifiable crest, and would be created upon purchase (That is, after purchase it'd immediately bring up the Crest customization screen). In the customization screen, the colors available would be Royal Jelly Purple, Gremlin Orange, Lichen Yellow, Soul Lichen Cyan, Love Puppy Pink, Jelly Green Giant Green, Lumber Brown, Ice Cube Blue, and Super Blast Cube Red.
But that's not the end to its grandeur, because what's the point in a Crest if your guild is the only one that gets to see it? Personal Guild Crests would be able to be bought from Kozma (To avoid confusion, they would not be bought from "Rudkin") on a player basis. These crests may or may not be accessories. The crest would be placed most likely on your chestpiece, and would feature your Guild's customized and unique crest.
Finally, Autofire has pointed out the Crests would have to be removed when you are either kicked or you leave your Guild. I have come up with some ways to program this (Though I know nothing of programming, just some thoughts).
1: The Removal of the item from your inventory/armor altogether.
2: A dynamic crest which always updates to your newest Guild. Once bought, you never lose this Crest, it's just dynamic and always switches to your Guild's Emblem. When not in a Guild, the crest would automate to a default color or colors. Not sure how feasible these are, but that's all I can think of.
4.5 - Guild Crests (Additional Upgrades). Originally, these upgrades would come with Guild Achievements, but with the removal of Guild Elevators, they are now bought as an expansion to the Guild Crest upgrade.
The Guild Crests, as stated before, will be based on the icons seen in the Clockworks (The stage emblems, I.E Knight, Pawn, Crown, etc.). However, not ALL icons will be available at first. Once purchased, your crests will be able to feature all of the following (Once all upgrades are purchased, *ALL* emblems seen in the clockworks will be available to use in your crest):
Extra Color Palette, Snipe Emblem, Boss Stage Emblem (This includes the Skull, but also includes all the levels going up to a boss. I.E Roarmulus Stage Emblems, RJP Stage Emblems, Gloaming Wildwoods, ETC.), Cross-swords Emblem, The Core's Emblem, and finally, Shadow Lair's Emblem.
If deemed by feedback, I was thinking to segregate these further, for instance: Extra Color Palette Upgrade, X CR X CE, Snipe Emblem Upgrade, X CR X CE, etc. Currently, one upgrade buys them all.
Most of these are self-explanatory, but the Extra color palette will feature a wider array of colors to choose from, to enhance customization options (See 4 for basic colors). The additional colors that you will be able to choose from will be as follows: Ultra Blast Cube Purple, Rock Jelly Grey, Void Gel Black, Core White, Sloom Blue, Quicksilver Silver, Toxigel Green (Darker than Jelly Green Giant green), Punkin King Orange, and finally Swordstone Red.
5 - Records (Suggested by Mwahahaha): A little neat upgrade for the Guild Hall, in respect to Bookshelves. Once purchased, a devilite-style bookshelf would appear in your "Rec Room" (Which would literally be any place there is room for it; the un-used area of your GH which likely has furnishings in it), and would contain dun dun DUNNNN records. Wait, you guessed that? Dang.
Within these records lie personal information (Not that personal, it's not a diary) of each Guild Member therein. For instance, upon clicking the Bookshelf (Or whatever interface it uses, probably the Action button), you would see a series of books. A window that would contain, in alphabetical order, books with all the Knights' names on them that are in the Guild.
Once you have clicked on said book of whichever Knight you wish to view, a little bit of information about that Knight would appear. Furthermore, there would be tabs at the side of the "book" interface which would allow you to switch to different tabbed sections. Allow me to illustrate.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(?): Not sure if this would go into the log. A ban could actually assist officers in knowing whodunit, and who to watch out for, but it may not be necessary to list a waived ban.
(!): Got this idea to (mayyybe) increase incentive for Donating to the Guild. It may change to "Month" because of the likely typical donation rate. I think it'd be a great addition, especially for promotions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*Any or all of these Records may be isolated and programmed into the game at OOO's discretion - none of the Records are reliant on other records, and can be manipulated in any way. Above is merely an example.
The last tab would feature screenshots, a photo album of sorts, that the player has taken. It could go on indefinitely, but OOO will likely have an image limit.
Fairly simple, amirite? Yay for neat features.
The tabs would go on the right-most part of the page, and there would be three. (/Overall Guild Info\), (/Basic Info\) and (/Screenshots\), to conveniently switch between the Photo Album and the other guild information.
NOTE: All Pages are relevant to their Tabs. Meaning, Overall Guild Info has pages 1+ in its tab, but Basic Info also starts at Page 1. You may think of them as "Separate books" for all intents and purposes. This makes it easier for Archiving, screenshotting, the works.
You may ask: "But how could I upload screenshots into my Photo Album?".
My answer: whenever a Screenshot is taken, you get an "Alert" Message (Like when someone trades you). This message would *not* appear in front of your screen, but instead would only appear as an Alert Bubble Icon on the top-left with an exclamation point (As when you "Hide" a trade request). Once clicked, the message would appear:
"Would you like this Screenshot uploaded to your Photo Album?"
Obviously, saying "Yes" will upload it, and saying "No" will ignore it.
Amendment to #5 (Suggested by Serell): Autobiography page. A page (Or up to X amount of pages) reserved for your own bio that you could write whatever you wanted it. A "Report Bio" function may be necessary as a safety precaution.
The amendment may require moderation, however...which would get annoying.
6 - Armory (Suggested by Mwahahaha): Mwahahaha: "The Armoury would be a collection of gear, armour, and weapons (for a guild, mind you) inside the GH where guildmembers would be able to, at their leisure 'take something out for a spin'.
The equipment inside would consists of anything donated by guildmembers for the entire guild to use, in addition to finished equipment that could be purchased via the supply depot or a vendor or sorts (be it a knight, a stranger or a devilite, etc), and would be connected to the training hall (or a seperate version of the TH) so that knights could run around and test out their newfound toy. As an added bonus, once a piece of equipment is added to the Armoury, every guildmember would be able to take that equipment from the armoury and simultaneously test it--now that would lead to some interesting times, possibly guild events, now wouldn't it?
As a side note, any equipment added to the Armoury cannot be retracted unless the guild is disbanded. Perhaps the GM(s) could authorize the withdrawal/refund for the weapon?"
Clarifications:
1: Severage: "Once you withdraw a piece of gear, be it armor or weapon, the weapon would have a light-blue (Like, baby blue, really light) around the icon in your inventory, rather than the themed darker blue color in the UI (Where the Star Rating is, that whole area would be baby blue instead of the darker color). On this slab, rather than much open space, the white emboldened letters would appear: "Training" or possibly, "Testing", and would be removed from your inventory (or unusable, whichever is easier) when you entered the Clockworks or a LD locker room. Only in the training area of the improved GH, or the TH, would they be usable."
1.5: Mwahahaha: "in addition to whichever method OOO chooses to differentiate the weapons as training-only, if a knight decided to try and leave the Training Hall with the item, a warning would pop up and inform them that once they leave the Training Area, the weapon will no longer be in their Inventory/Loadout."
2: Severage: "[Mwahahaha] defined that members would donate their weapon to be a simulation item - possibly permanently. This is a steep price to pay for a single member, one that undoubtedly the Officer + ranks would get together to complete, rather than random members. Concerning this, I would say that a flat fee from our trusty Rudkin NPC for each star rating would suffice.
Examplemonkey:
Simulation Guns 1*: X CE, X CR; Simulation Guns 2*: X CE, X CR;
Simulation Swords 1*: X CE, X CR...and so on and so forth. This way, the whole guild would donate to the vault, deciding which simulations to perform first, and then the guild as a whole could purchase these upgrades, rather than relying on the rich people or leaders. I did not want to segregate these further, so as to say, Guns (Elemental) 1*, Guns (Shadow) 1*, etc.; I find that unnecessary...though I would put helmets and armor pieces in their own categories."
2.5: Mwahahaha: " I feel that the option of donating a weapon could still remain open for those who are either starting a guild and would like to flesh their GH out a little before recruiting (more revenue for OOO if said to-be-GM buys CE to do so), or if someone is feeling rather guild-friendly. In said case, if the guild was disbanded, the method of returning the items to the rightful owner could be implemented."
NOTE:: These weapons could now only be available inside the GH Training area if you had one; the GH Training area could now be a prerequisite to owning the Armory.
7 - Design Mode Changes: (Brought up in the official feedback thread).
"So the new guild hall is looking nice, but a "veteran" comes in and does design mode, and leaves the design in a mess. They can't publish, and we have no "reset to current" button for the design.
Feature request: "reset to current", and a "undo history". -- Nattss
A reset to current or undo history would be nice features; alternatively, there could be a way to leave the Guild Hall while in Design mode & re-enter without any changes happening, I.E. without saving the new changes.
8 - Scenic Room (Suggested by Klipik): The new Guild Hall is great, but it did remove something. The view of the Clockworks that was the one and only reason you'd ever go to your Guild Hall prior to the update, was removed. Maybe, GMs willing, we can have our cake and eat it too.
A purchasable Scenic Room at the forefront of your Guild Hall (Likely top floor) that would allow you to look down into the Clockworks, changing the camera view downward toward the Clockworks below.
9 - Guild Hall Alchemy Machine: The ability to purchase plants, snipes, and furnishings is a great crown sink, but goes against what Spiral Knights does most of the time. Honestly, I didn't think of this until after the 1st update. My bad!
Anyway, this Alchemy Machine would work like Sullivan's Alchemy Machine, but of course having the same restrictions as the Guild Vault, with just a couple differences.
First of all, all the Furnishings (Chairs, Benches, Dressers, Snipes, Plants) would be craftable. A bit differently than solely using the Vault, these would cost both CR and Materials. I was going to include Mist but then I realized the Vault doesn't use CE. Silly me.
So, the crown cost would be a little bit cheaper than it is now by directly purchasing it from the vault. However, it would cost many materials. For instance: 10 Iron Wood, 5 Red Wood, a few Shards, and maybe some miscellaneous furniture-specific materials based on what it is. For instance, Snipes could require Owlite and/or Philoso Feathers.
The purpose: To add a viable material sink (Really these things need a market - they're so useless) with uncommonly used materials to the Guild Hall Updates.
10 - Mist Well Retrieval Limits (Inspired by Solo Art, 'my' Guild): My Guild has a slight problem with the Mist Well. Some administrative powers are needed on it. Currently, we have deemed not to use the Mist Well at all until absolutely necessary.
Now, there's no reason not to help your fellow Guild Recruits and Members out, but most of all we're afraid one new guildie is going to walk in there like: "Woot! Unlimited Rage Crafting!" and take it all for himself. If one takes too much, what can we do? All we can do is kick him from the Guild. If he just joined, that's not really a loss for him at all. He just made a bunch of money potentially.
Therefore, I request that Mist Retrieval limits be added. Or, if that's not possible, complete restrictions on some ranks. It can either work like: Recruit Limit: X Mist, Member Limit: X Mist, etc. OR work like: Recruit: Disabled/Enabled, Member: Disabled/Enabled, etc.
Personally, if it's possible, I think limitations would be more robust than restrictions. But whichever way works - right now it's only for 'Emergency Use' when people are out of Mist and we want to do a speed run or something.
10.5 - Mist Well Withdrawal Input (From Misten's thread). This would allow you to input however much Mist you want withdrawn into your inventory. Currently, though I was unaware due to not using it, it fills your tank all the way up regardless. This can be wasteful if you don't have enough time to play and don't have a 2* recipe to burn the rest of the mist.
So, either a way to input X Amount of Mist to Withdraw, or (As Irthan suggested in Misten's thread), buttons for 10 ME, 50 ME, and Fill Mist Tank.
11 - Mini-Game Room (Suggested by Addisond & others). A mini-game room where you can sit down at a table and play a game of Checkers or other simple games that don't take much to program. It could pass the time for those F2P diehards that sit around in Haven (Or maybe the GH now) waiting for that last 5 mist before they can make another run.
Personally I'm not too fond of having something that distracts from Spiral Knights altogether, but enough people wanted it that I added it in.
12 - Kicking: Concerning "Banning" visitors from your Guild Hall: The Guild Master and Officers would be able to Ban members from your Hall (If they are being disruptive). The GM/Officers may only ban visitors from the Guild Hall, not members of the Guild. If a member of the Guild were being disorderly, the GM/Officers would simply kick him from the Guild. Once banned, visitors may not enter the Guild they were banned from for 2 hours.
Blacklisting (Suggested by Hexzyle): This could either replace kicking or accompany it. I'd think it'd be either/or though. Blacklisting is, as you may have guessed, almost identical to kicking, except the expelled visitor would never be able to re-enter the Guild Hall until removed from the list.
Ban Pardoning (Suggested by Hexzyle): 'The victim of the ban may be pardoned by the GM/Officer who banned him. All he would do is right-click: Pardon, and he would be able to return to the Guild Hall.'
The Guild Master(s) would be able to pardon anyone.
Vault Log Revision Storage Log: This can work the way it does now or be condensed into lists of player contributions. So, instead of:
Exampleknight has donated 1 Scrap Metal.
Exampleknight has donated 1 Scrap Metal.
Exampleknight has donated 1 Red Wood.It would just say "Exampleknight has donated (2) Scrap Metal, (1) Red Wood [Space here for other materials donated] this week." The list could extend as far as necessary. This way, instead of a new notification every time someone donates a piece of scrap, you can more conveniently see who donated what and how much without having to count it all out with your own list.
The Treasury Log would be split into two logs. The first being - Treasury (Weekly):
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Donated] Examplemonkey #1 Weekly Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Donated] Examplemonkey #2 Weekly Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Donated] Examplemonkey #3 Weekly Contribution: XX,XXX CRThis way you would only need 1 ongoing notice for that particular member. If said member has not donated at all, he would not have any notice. If he donates multiple times, it stacks into one notice of "Weekly Contribution". The second being - Treasury (Total):
[Last Date of Contribution if Necessary] Examplemonkey #1 Total Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date of Contribution if Necessary] Examplemonkey #2 Total Contribution: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date of Contribution if Necessary] Examplemonkey #3 Total Contribution: XX,XXX CRTotal may or may not be necessary altogether, leaving just Weekly Contributions. I'd like to see feedback on that.
Regrettably, I can think of no ways to condense the Membership/Promotions Log. Upkeep Logs need no revision because they only happen once a week. Similarly, Guild Hall Logs (MOTD Updates and Publishing) happen too infrequently to require revision.
Mist Logs can be reworked to Weekly Mist Logs, just like the Weekly Treasury Logs. It would include both Contribution and Obtaining from the Mist Well. Finally, there would be a weekly expenditure log.
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Purchased Furniture] Examplemonkey #1 Total Spending: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Purchased Furniture] Examplemonkey #2 Total Spending: XX,XXX CR
[Last Date Examplemonkey Has Purchased Furniture] Examplemonkey #3 Total Spending: XX,XXX CRA list of the furnishings purchased by said Examplemonkies could be presented.
GTH Tweak #1 (Suggested by multitudes). The shooting range was in my first thread before I deleted it, similar to Auction Houses, etc. I find it a bit funny that these things were added in. Anyway, I digress.
The GTH needs to be tweaked a bit. The Shooting Range targets are too far away for most guns, and there is no way to track your score. They're just...targets. Instead of making ragefaces at our targets that we can't reach, and trying to be competitive but failing epicly due to no way to track our scores, why not add this functionality?
GTH Tweak #2 (From my first thread). PvP Training! Srsly, need this. There's no way to simulate Lockdown in ANY area of the game for one. So you have to pay to practice any LD at all. The crowns needed for this upgrade will subsidize the crowns saved by practicing LD. In addition, if people were more confident in their skill, they'd probably play more and find it more enjoyable, which would, in long terms, increase the crown sink.
For two, a Guild Vs Self type of PvP would be really fun. It seems appropriate to me that it would be inside the Guild Training Hall. I don't think it would be so hard to set up, the functionality is already there for Guild Queues - there'd just need to be one for your Training Hall.
Blast Network could also be added just for fun - though it is much less popular.
Also - See the Armory suggestion (#6) note for another possible GTH tweak.
GTH Tweak #3 [UNDER REVIEW] (Brought up by Canyew, developed by myself). Hazard Room. I haven't thoroughly discussed with anyone the intricacies of such a room, so this is just ad-libbing until I get some feedback.
What I had in mind was a fairly-sized (Think Vanaduke's boss room or an Arena stage's arena) room with a console at the northward end. Using this console will bring up an interface for the monsters you wish to fight.
The idea is a mix & match machine that would be able to spawn enemies based on variable specifications. There would be three separate columns... The first would be the element you wish to fight. Shock, Fire, Curse, etc. The next column would be the family you wish to fight. Construct, Slime, Beast, etc. The final one would have two different kinds of difficulty selections - one on a scale from 1 - 5, and the other based on your Tier.
For instance, I could select Shocking enemies, then select Construct, then select Tier 3, difficulty level 5. After selecting to Start the simulation, random enemies fitting within these criteria would spawn around the room. Electrodes, Shock Puppies, Shocking Scuttlebots, you get the idea. They would also have to be Tier 3, and the difficulty level would simply adjust the rate of spawning.
These numbers are not concrete, but for theoretical purposes only. Say difficulty level 1 spawned two enemies every 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, another two enemies would spawn, and so on.
At level 2, you could see 3 enemies spawn every 15 seconds.
At level 3, you could see 5 enemies spawn every 15 seconds.
At level 4, you could see 5 enemies spawn every 15 seconds, but toward the end, the spawn rate would happen much faster. Say, 5-10 seconds.
At level 5, you could see 5 enemies spawn every 15 seconds, more difficult enemies would spawn (Less Scuttlebots, more rocket puppies or somesuch), and the rate of spawning would increase as time went on.Obviously at level 5, after a few minutes, spawns would be pretty crazy. These are all, once again, hypothetical numbers and balancing would have to be established at a later time, but, keep in mind that virtually any number of players could be in the Hazard Room at any given time, like the ATH. For this reason, the highest level of difficulty would preferably not be soloable after a couple minutes.
NOTES: #1: The session of training would go on indefinitely until all players are killed. Players would not be able to ressurect during the training session, but immediately afterward, simply by clicking with their mouse, just like in the ATH.
#2: The session may be cancelled via the console at any time, by any Member or higher by the Guild, and may only be started by any Member or higher in the Guild. This is for bad trolls. Upon being cancelled, an instant "Kill-Order" would be given to all enemies that would play their death animation and despawn them.
#3: The gate to leave the Hazard Room would be open at all times. A Kill-Order would be issued once all players have left the Hazard Room. Again, this is for bad trolls who may be in the guild. Note #2 may or may not be necessary with this addition, feedback appreciated.
#4: Since apparently this isn't obvious, monsters here drop nothing. No crowns, materials, heat, nothin'. It's the training hall, not an unlimited arena.
12 - Tip Jar: (Suggested by Psychodestroyer). The ability for visiting players from other guilds to donate to the host Guild's vault via a "Tip Jar". The Tip Jar would have a total donation count, but the individual players who tipped would be anonymous.
The Guild Master would be able to move the tip jar's money to the vault at any point. The records would show it as a deposit from the Tip Jar.
"X Crowns has been deposited via the Tip Jar." The Tip Jar's minimum increment could be either 100 or 1,000 crowns. The maximum increment is 10,000 crowns. This is for those times when you walk in a guild and are like "Whoa yo cray cray up in dis crib ya got mo bling dan ma mama in heeya mang" and want to give them a thousand crowns or so.
13 - Lights & Additional Furnishings: (Suggested by Autofire, Blandaxt, Effrul, Canyew and others).
I've come up with a list of the coolest furnishings. See contributor quotes at the end of this section for extra details.1. A computer or a Lava Lamp that you can place on tables,
2. A potted tree (Like the trees of Aurora Isles but smaller, and can be put on tables) for the corner of the room, and other potted foliage like flowers etc.,
3.More colors for the Lamps,
4. Fireplaces for those Christmas-time evenings,
5. Party Decor, such as balloons, cakes, or other re-usable items that can be used to spice up festivities.
6. Waterworks, such as Knight spitting water-fountains, small decorative and non-interact-able pools, etc.
7. Statues, just like the Love Puppy in Haven park, as well as other pre-existing statue models that should be purchasable.
8. Torch-Lighting, for the dungeon-esque feel in your themed Guild Hall, you could have torches light the pathways.
9. Lights*.
10. Documents/Books. Who doesn't like that devilite-esque quality to their desk?
11. Sofas, Benches, Tables, Beds (+Bunkbeds) and Desks (See clarification below)**.
12. Buckets of minerals/Clutter Some little buckets with shards inside, with shards lying in the close vicinity.
13. Workbenches (Like those gremlin ones with various tools, etc.).
14. Weapon Props ('Fake' weapons that would rest on various furnishings, or be placed on them).
15. Official Walls (For splitting rooms without needing to use potted plants or other furnishings to block paths. The walls would look just like all the other walls in the Hall).**: These would come in multiple sizes (I.E. 1x2, 2x2, etc.), for decorating, and of course utilizing. Being more fancy and/or sizable furnishings, these would cost a little more.
Canyew - "Make it so you can buy [a piece of furniture] and just change its color on demand (For example, instead of a "Modular red table" it would be just a "Modular table" that you can change the color of by holding the table using a button to change the color back and forth before placing it. This would make things A LOT simpler, as well as less mistakes when decorating (like buying the wrong furniture))"
Autofire - "A spotlight and a lamp like the ones you see at party buttons and elevators in the clockworks would be cool too. Stuff like that would let us control what gets lit up better."
Blandaxt & Effrul have suggested purchasable Mecha Knights as security patrols and Retrodes that act as cleaning drones throughout the Guild Hall that walk around. If nothing else, to give a little life to a Guild Hall if it's empty.
Finally, (this is under Guild Crests but I thought I'd stress it here), there should be Rugs, Tapestries, Murals/Pictures, Plaques and/or other wall/ceiling/floor decorations. These decorations could be preset images, but it'd be really cool if tapestries and rugs especially had the dynamic Guild Crest image on them. It would make Guild Halls much more unique to have dynamic furnishings.
Lil bits of awesomeness: Finally, I'm going to tag these in here.
Jukebox (Suggested by Mirtsmak/Hexzyle). A "machine" that would play BGMs in the Guild Hall, which all Guildmates' within the Hall would hear. It costs 5 Crowns to select a song, and 5 crowns to change it. After spending 30 Crowns on the machine, you wouldn't be able to change it for an hour.
Amendment to Jukebox: (Suggested by Windsickle). The only music you would be able to play in the Jukebox are the themes you have visited in the Clockworks. The songs would be locked until then.
Clarifications to Amendment:
Question #1: So, if I can't change the song anymore, and nobody does, and the track ends, then what? It's just nothing?
Answer #1: No, the last chosen track will loop indefinitely until changed. If you're content with that track, just leave it there, don't worry about limited loops.
Question #2: How would all Guildmates hear the music when changed? How could a Guild Jukebox track the entire Guild's music themes if only one person is changing it? Sounds like too much programming and behind-the-scenes work.
Answer #2: In all honesty, it does. It could very well be a personal thing. The jukebox could be there, and play the music just for you instead of all players. That way, it could also track the themes you've unlocked.
(Possible Epic Achievement): Jukebox Hero. There are two Prerequisites:
1. Play every song in the Jukebox at least once.
2. Have Stars in your eyes (If you didn't get the joke...don't worry about it...).And finally...
Guild Hall Day! (Inspired by Mwahahaha's vernacular): November the 14th, the release of the Guild Hall Update, has changed Guild Halls from a neglected area somewhere out in space, that nobody knows how to get to aside from teleporting, to a very large castle-like social party room.
In commemoration of OOO's awesome update, Nov. 14th should be a Spiral Knights holiday, where Guild events are released every year on its anniversary. Just thought that'd be cool.
It doesn't have to be big or anything like that. Even a notification without any event on SK's homepage saying "NOV. 14th, Guild Hall Expansion Day!" would be really cool I think.
FINAL NOTE: Probably about half of this was Copy/Pasted from my original thread. I edited a lot of it to fit with the new release, but if you see any inconsistencies that I didn't edit out, do say something!
Feedback appreciated!

Okay, for all of your animation-related ideas, I think that's kind of unnecessary. I mean, it's all there for decoration, you're not really supposed to be able to interact with absolutely everything in your Guild Hall...and it's not like many people would just sit and watch the animation very often.
I mean, unless your Knight interacts with a plant. Yeah, you know what I mean.
Case and point, animations take a long time for OOO to create and do really little in terms of the effect it has on player environment.
I believe I stated in that other thread that previewing all the items would soon become obsolete, because the Wiki will soon have all that information. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have it as a convenience, but it's not essential either.
As for your last idea, I think that goes under my Scenery Change. It's #1.
~Sev

Stuff I want/don't want that's in this thread:
Change of location -
Much needed, I'm missing the old milkcave :c
Bulletin Board -
Yup, should really happen soon.
#2 -
That makes sense, I'd like to be able to post messages as an officer.
Mission Board -
I've already said that I don't want enhanced missions for guilds.
Display cases -
:D want
Crests -
I'm confused. Am I only allowed to make my crest an in-game symbol? Kinda lame. I'd rather have full customization of my guild crest, though it would probably take moderation to keep the crests in line.
4.5 -
Honestly, I'd rather crests not be unlockables. Kinda confusing.
5 -
Cool, they should add it
6 -
Well, the ATH is totally lame but yeah it'd be nice to be able to test.
7 -
Needed.
Other -
Willy wonka: lol?
Guildspawn: you appear in the ready room. And there's a button for the guildhall.
Jukebox: meh, I'd never use it but it sounds fine.
Guildhalliday: lol?
I'll probably have my own suggestions after we finish designing our gh.

Mission Board - Mm, yes, I see your point here. Please note though that the mission board was suggested before Missions came out, I just copy/pasted it here. They made Missions for everyone, and, reluctant to completely remove it, I left it in. I'll probably remove it now, since it seems pointless.
Crests - The whole reason for only making it in-game symbols and patterns is so that they would not need moderation. If you could use any image on earth, there would inevitably be inappropriate banners and crests.
4.5 - These aren't "unlockable" anymore. If you read that in the OP somewhere, I need to edit it. It's a purchasable expansion to the already-existing crests.
In other words...Crest Upgrade 1: Crest basics. Crest Upgrade 2: Enhanced customization. Each one would be bought separately.
6 - Yeah, the point would be more to test the weapon itself, not necessarily the damage. However, if it were only to be used in the Guild Training Area, then it would have even greater use, though would be harder to get.
Wonkavator: Haven't you ever watched Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory? lol. It's a joke name. Anyway, it's a way to go anywhere in Haven directly from your Guild Hall. Although now, with Ready Rooms and Missions, it does seem a bit unnecessary.
Guild Spawn: Yep...along with the Wonkavator, this is much less useful after the Ready Rooms and Missions interface.
Jukebox: You can't honestly say the Guild Hall is complete without this. I mean, you can't.
Guild day: This was more of a joke than much else...but it's a great way to remember the day that the Guild Hall was updated, for me.
----
@All:
I was thinking of a new Alchemy Machine for Guild Hall-related items.
It'd work just like Sullivan's Alchemy Machine, except you'd be able to craft benches, plants, chairs, dressers, etc. from it.
The reason for it: To put an extra Material sink inside the Guild Hall, aside from only Crown and CE sinks.
It'd cost a bunch of your cheaper materials, with CR and CE costs instead of the static price to buy them. You'd also be able to use Mist to craft it, unlike purchasing it.
Tell me what you think.
EDIT: I have removed the Mission Board, Wonkavator, and Guild Spawn due to the fact that they are now irrelevant with the new Missions systems and Ready Room.
~Sev

-Add a room that is like the old Guild Hall, with a view out into the clockworks. Except, they should change the camera angle so it is like in the tutorial, where you can see all the way down into the clockworks.
-Add Honor Guard equipment to the GH alchemy machine, where knights who received Honor Guard gear but have since progressed to higher ranks can bring their Honor Guard gear along for the ride. (btw +1 to GH alchemy machine)
-I feel like this one was suggested somewhere in the old thread, but tbh I don't have 6 hours to waste looking for it. ¬.¬ Anyways, suggestion: Knight statues that allow for armor, weapons and shields to be placed on them when in GH Design Mode. The gear would first have to be deposited in the Guild Treasury to put it on the statue. Possibly would have different types of statues with different stances, shield on back/arm, etc.
-A bit too late for this one seeing as the event ends in two days, but it would have been nice to have a full Honor Guard Set complete with armor, helmet, gun and bomb.
@OP:
+1 to: Change of Location
+1 to: Bulletin Board
+1 to: Display Cases
+1 to: Guild Crests
+1 to: Guild Achievements
+0 to: Guild Records (already in)
+1 to: Armory
+1 to: Design Mode Changes
EDIT: +1 to jukebox and GH Day
<(^_^)>

Guild Records are already in? I didn't see any place where you could see any guild member's bio. Are you sure you're not getting it confused with the Guild Vault Log?
Scenic room? Sure, I can see that happening.
As for adding Honor gear to the GH Alchemy machine, I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you. There's no reason to link your Prestige that has nothing to do with Guild Halls to the GH Alchemy Machines. I have no problem with letting Honor gear be upgraded, but your prestige has nothing to do with them as far as I'm aware. Although, you can visit any Guild so maybe it wouldn't be a problem...but it'd still be a bother to people to be exclusive to guilds for seemingly no reason.
I don't recall suggesting Knight Statues at any point. What would it look like if it had no armor on? A Cobalt Knight? Not a bad idea though. It's kind of like what they did with the Honor Stands.
Again, I really don't see what the Honor gear has to do with Guilds? Besides the Stand, the rest of the Honor Gear is based on your Prestige, not Guild Rank.
Thanks for feedback! I will add the Scenic room and GH Alchemy Machine in, at least until more feedback comes in. I might add the Statues if you give a lil bit more info on them.
EDIT: All added, including a new Mist Well Retrieval Limit idea. I also removed the Table of Contents link to a non-existent section of my post. Woops!
~Sev

I suggest some form of implementation of a balcony (complete with larger view of outside) and stage similar to the original Guildhall. A restricted access balcony that provides a full view of the entire Guildhall would be useful too zooming out in the same way as the original Guildhall.
With regards to Severage's Guild Records idea, I think that each entry should default to blank, with the subject having the ability to change its publicity. More specifically pages 2 and 3. I'm sure that I would want complete control of that kind of personal information (not even editable by GM).
Concerning the Jukebox idea, I suggest that the individual songs be locked (and names hidden) unless the selector of the song has already finished a level in which the song is originally played.
I more or less support the other suggestions outline in the opening post.
-Windsickle

How about also implementing an option for Guild Leaders to issue a mail to everyone in the Guild? Your idea of a Bulletin Board is really cool, but sometimes Leaders may need to issue a urgent message, and so not to block the Moto for that would be useful, I think. Maybe even make it appear in the Event tab, shown the 1st thing of all.
Also, another thing related to your Bulletin Board, that could also include this: Why not make the Bulletin Board another tab in the Game announcement, Mail, etc window? I think it would be nice to have our own "Guild Board" there. And maybe also implement the physical item as decoration as you say that would open the window there - and maybe let other people that visit our Guild Hall to see it, maybe even have "public filters" for content we want to keep to ourselves.

How about also implementing an option for Guild Leaders to issue a mail to everyone in the Guild?
/approve, but for Officers(/maybe Vets?) as well.
I remember when Hugs needed to send out individual mails to everyone in the guild asking for details from them to organise a guild event and spent an hour sending them all. Poor guy never thought about doing an inactive sweep until after he was done, mind you~
Guild-wide mails are something relatively common in MMOs and certainly would fit in well here, especially now that we have the option to increase member limits and have a more guild-orientated system thanks to GH.

Keep it up Sev, this is brilliant.
P.S. "Devs never look at the Suggestions forum anyway"
Oh how wrong those people are :)

Mmmk so time for me suggesting some basic stuff:
Full editing of the GH - I'd really appreciate being able to pay for my guildhall by tile. There's just no way that I'm ever going to get a jelly palace without it.
Minigames - It'd be nice if we could have some simple minigames to play against each other in the guildhall.
Inviting out-of-guild players to the guildhall - We should be able to invite out-of-guild players to locked guildhalls. This is further explained below.
Editing ranks and rank access - It'd really be nice if we could customize rank names, how many ranks there are, and what each rank can do. If not, at least let us customize what each rank can do, particularly in regards to the guildhall. For example, make it possible to lock access to editing for all but a certain rank, lock access to a certain area of the guildhall to all but a certain rank or group of people, etc. That is to say, I should be able to set a certain area where anyone can come, an area accessible by recruits and up, an area accessible by members and up, etc. Also, you would be able to set up where players were allowed to invite out-of-guild players (players invited would not be able to access an area of higher authority than the player who invited them). Players wouldn't be able to see chat issued in areas they didn't have access to. This would be useful in setting up areas exclusive to your guild while still having an open atmosphere in the rest of the guildhall, making meeting places for higher-ups, and locking off features (cough-cough mist wells) from lower ranks. I like the idea of the mist well, but if your guild has loose recruitment requirements like mine (we give everyone a few weeks to see if they work out) they're totally impractical.
mmk that's it for now. I'll probably have more stuff that I want.

Your first idea is more or less what I said in this part of my thread. Sorry if I misunderstood you, but it sounds like you're saying the same thing.
I could implement a completely free-write form of Records. I guess it'd be more simple. You can't always trust people to report inappropriate content though, and the idea was to avoid that. All the information in the Records on the first 3 pages is automatically inserted, so there's no need for moderation. Only the Autobiography page, should OOO deem it worthy, would need moderation, which is why it wasn't there in the first place.
The Jukebox idea is a good one - I'll add that in as soon as I'm done typing this up.
@Aumir:
The idea was to have a physical click-able board in your Guild Hall. I didn't think of having it on the same interface as the Mail and stuff.
As for mass-mail, sure I can add that in. Like Darkbrady said, though, it'll need a rank requirement to use, to ensure nobody is mass-spamming.
@Addisond:
For full editing, that's the point of the Scenery Change. So you don't have to edit it one tile at a time, but still get your Jelly Palace.
With respect to mini-games, I've kind of avoided this due to the distractive nature of mini-games, but it's been suggested multiple times, so I have no problem adding it in if many people want it. Keeping in mind that it's likely you'll just get Checkers because Chess/Card games would take longer to program, and it's not really OOO's job to run a casino up in here.
@Editing rank and rank access: The only reason I'd add this is for the Mist Well, but...there's no reason to lock off the Mist Well from Recruits. Those are the people who likely need it most. I don't follow you there.
Also, I'm not sure what control OOO has over how far chat goes in the Guild Hall. I know they can adjust it for the entire area (Guild Hall public chat shows everyone in Guild Hall, not just local area for instance), but I don't know if it's even possible for them to set up multiple chat barriers in the same place.
Finally, if you want a public GH and want to speak to Guildmates only privately, just use Guild Chat. Officers? Use Officer chat. One person? PM. There's no situation I can think of where you'd need a meeting room that explicitly shows chat only inside said room.
However, with regards to customizing rank names, how many ranks there are, and what each can do, that reminds me of an old thread that had all this in it. That doesn't really pertain to Guild Halls.
EDIT: All approved ideas added to the thread - fixed a link in the Table of Contents - added appropriate amount of new ToC info.
EDIT #2: Added more mist well stuff that someone else suggested. Yikes...if ever the GMs decide to do it, the 2nd expansion will have more stuff in it than the 1st one. lol.
~Sev

be able to invite a friend to your guild without it being being public. this way, you can get a couple friends together and not have people that is unwanted in that friend to friend conversation.
also have sliding doors that activate base on pressure pads that is located in the entrance and exit of the door. this way rooms can be locked by the guild master or officers if they do not want normal guild members or visitors access. also, be able to create walls in some of the passage ways that we want to cut off in edit mode.
some other furniture items are overhead lights. doesn't have to be attached to the ceiling. there will be an animation attached to these lights that let u turn it on and off. when its turn on, the room will turn bright, and when its off the room that is section off from other rooms will turn dark. (it will not work unless that room is sectioned off.

In other words, invite people while the Guild hall is Private.
It's not such a bad idea...
Though, as far as programming, I'm not sure how possible it is. I mean, there's got to be a reason there's "Public" and "Private" in the first place.
You also wouldn't want people inviting their friends like nuts when it's set to private.
@Your edit:
"also have sliding doors that activate base on pressure pads that is located in the entrance and exit of the door. this way rooms can be locked by the guild master or officers if they do not want normal guild members or visitors access. also, be able to create walls in some of the passage ways that we want to cut off in edit mode.
Sliding doors...switches on entrance and exit...to keep people out?
How about someone wants in just...pushes the switch on the entrance like the GM did?
For walls - do you not buy the rooms separately? Why buy the rooms to block them off?
"some other furniture items are overhead lights. doesn't have to be attached to the ceiling. there will be an animation attached to these lights that let u turn it on and off. when its turn on, the room will turn bright, and when its off the room that is section off from other rooms will turn dark. What, a Guild Hall Power Grid? Why would you want to hide your Guild Hall?
~Sev

...Can't we just wait for the special little doors that has Nick revealing more than he usually does?

i wouldn't mind if my guild-mate is inviting his friends, i can always talk to that guild mate to restrict how much friends that guild-mate invites or just ask him to not invite while were having a guild meeting.

"...Can't we just wait for the special little doors that has Nick revealing more than he usually does?"
Huh? That sounded kind of awkward.
But yeah, Nick has already said he's working on doors. No real reason to add it to suggestions here.
Mr. Popovich said it, it's not speculation, it's TBD release.
~Sev

You mean you see what YOU did there. I'm still not sure what you meant by revealing more than he usually does.
ANYWAY, Digress digress digress, I'm going to go to sleep now. I'll try to condense the thread some more tomorrow. Paraphrase/rephrase some stuff more efficiently to save space.
G'night.

No, YOU mean I mean icwutididthar...
Whatever I meant, it had everything to do with new, unreleased content.
...Digital content.

Dude...
Just quit while you're ahead.
And stop spammin' up mah crib SUCKAH!
~Sev

i don't understand what you mean by a power grid. i only asked for an overhead light that has a switch which allows you to turn off/on the light to a section off room. i never asked for a power grid.
well if the devs are working on doors, then you can exclude that post about doors.
yes i would like to block a room off for several reasons.
1. to separate that particular room from other rooms if it belonged (labeled to) o a guild member and he did not want other people inside or outside the guild to look inside.
2. if that room had a particular purpose and i wanted it to be excluded for general use (mist well/ g. auction house, ect.).
3. so as to separate the rooms even more so as to not get confuse if my guild grows to 5 floors with lots of rooms.
4. last but not least to have a feel that a particular rooms is not force to connect to other rooms giving a more flexible guild creation function.
also, as a extra added furniture, i would like to add a wandering broken mechaknight who can shock players passing by it. the shock will just be an animation and not do any actual damage.

that has a switch which allows you to turn off/on the light to a section off room. i never asked for a power grid.
Interesting sentence juxtaposition, there~
4. last but not least to have a feel that a particular rooms is not force to connect to other rooms giving a more flexible guild creation function.
Go visit a maxed GH and have a look at them. There are corridors leading to all rooms, and although rooms can lead from one directly to the other, you can access any room from the corridor system. There's no reason to lock off rooms from the rest of your guild, it would serve no purpose. Although you can just do what my guild annoyingly does and go into design mode and put stuff in the way of the doors~
i would like to add a wandering broken mechaknight who can shock players passing by it. the shock will just be an animation and not do any actual damage.
Yes.

it has been practiced in many guild halls to put stuff in the way to section off rooms, but i think a clear wall would do a better job then buying very expansive junk to put it in the way of the corridors.

clear wall would do a better job then buying very expansive junk
Cheap junk that can be moved and re-purposed where ever and whenever you feel like. How much would you single-purpose wall cost and what would you do when you want to unblock the room?

exactly like the furnitures, the wall would be stored in your furniture invatory. it can be re-used exactly like the furnitures and i think should cost less then furnitures because it cannot be placed anywhere else besides corridors.

4: One thing to keep note of is that the guild crests owned and equipped should vanish when the player leaves the guild that the crest belonged to. This is so that you can't join a guild, get a crest, and then leave and repeat. Also, when your guild's crest is changed, the crests equipped should change too.
Also, being my guild is more elemental based (look at the Brothers of Eternity wiki page if you have to know), could we also be able to place monster and status themed emblems in the guild hall? For furniture, how about a lava lamp(on a table), a potted tree (like the trees of Aura Isles but smaller), a Shadow Well, and a computer? For rooms, what about being able to choose the color of the room? I know you said changing the location, but what if we wanted to change the theme of each individual room, such as a garden and a robotic lab in the same hall?
Oh, and more colors of lamps would be nice, but not needed. A spotlight and a lamp like the ones you see at party buttons and elevators in the clockworks would be cool too. Stuff like that would let us control what gets lit up better.

Darkbrady has a point - just use cheap junk that you will use later. It'll serve as a hall-block now, and be furnishings later. Win-win.
@Autofire: Oh, I hadn't thought to specify that. Good catch.
The Crests are designed (At least in this thread) to put their pattern on any variable-pattern in the guild hall. So, it's up to OOO to decide what those would be. Like described in the OP, if your guild crest was a Purple/Black Boss Skull emblem, then that emblem would appear on rugs, tapestries, maybe even on walls in some areas - for instance, the center-most "meeting room" might have a picture of the emblem in the back.
Changing location - that's actually not a bad idea. Instead of making the whole Guild one theme, being able to edit themes on a room-by-room basis. I'll add that in.
Edit: Oh, and I'm not sure how a Shadow Well would make sense, lol.
~Sev

Just thought I'd drop in and offer my support for this thread; there's a lot of good ideas.
I haven't read everything yet but I'll get around to doing that eventually.
Anyways, thanks, Sev, for setting this up and I'll be sure to give my opinion
on things as I read through some more.
The one and only,
<-------------------

Whilst I'm not sold on most of Blandaxt's suggestions, I quite like the idea of purchasable robots for the Hall; patrolling Mecha Knight security details, broom-wielding Retrodes sweeping the floors, stuff like that, to make the place look lived-in and alive even when it's empty.
The Guild Training Room could use an overhaul; at the moment it looks really sparse, and takes up more space than it really needs to. The firing range needs to be shortened - some weapons don't seem to have sufficient range to hit targets on the back row - and your actual score recorded, or at least displayed. Having three identical Tiers seems unnecessary, too; why not have the effective Tier controlled by a console (or even a simple lever attached to the punchbags), seeing as the only real difference is the damage output of your weapons? I'd like to see "live-fire" training dummies, too, for shield testing and more active combat training; select the family, number and difficulty from a console, hit "spawn", fight.
I'd also like to see wall decorations as furnishings; tapestries, plaques, stuff like that, just to increase customisation options that little bit more. Rugs/tiles would be cool too - see the Boss Themed Furniture thread.
It'd be convenient to have an exit straight to the Arcade but that's a secondary concern, and might be tricky to site (perhaps the back wall of the Console room would do it?).

"Having three identical Tiers seems unnecessary, too; why not have the effective Tier controlled by a console (or even a simple lever attached to the punchbags), seeing as the only real difference is the damage output of your weapons?"
Because you have to change Depths to have different Tier damage.
"I quite like the idea of purchasable robots for the Hall; patrolling Mecha Knight security details, broom-wielding Retrodes sweeping the floors, stuff like that, to make the place look lived-in and alive even when it's empty."
Don't see why not.
"It'd be convenient to have an exit straight to the Arcade but that's a secondary concern, and might be tricky to site (perhaps the back wall of the Console room would do it?)."
Unnecessary. Press M and go to "Arcade" from any location. I had this in my thread initially, and took it out for this reason. You can go anywhere from any place, save the Bazaar.
"I'd also like to see wall decorations as furnishings; tapestries, plaques, stuff like that, just to increase customisation options that little bit more. Rugs/tiles would be cool too"
Yup, this is under my Guild Crest idea. I will stress it under more furnishings though so it isn't missed.
EDIT: Added in GTH tweaks, stressed the tapestries, rugs, etc. under Furnishings, added in Mecha Knight/Retrode patrols under Furnishings, and optimized my OP. It is now some 15 or 20 lines shorter. I tried to do more but I was afraid any more optimizing and things would become confusing.
~Sev

funiture:
1. wandering phantom goes over walls should cost a considerable amount of money.
2. a fire place that can be interacted with buyable wood pieces. we could gather a set amoount of wood piece eac costing 2 crowns, make a fire place and the fire would burn it 2 hours for every wood piece.
3. again i stress accessories for the furniture. examples. a cup to place on top of a table. a compurer, or a book. all of these can be interacted with to make it look like our character is drinking, reading a book, typing on the pc, or drinking from the cup.
4. i think having an indoor pool would be nice. of course on the ruch would have it, but it woul work like this. water isnt anywhere in sk, but i think it could be implemented. have a small rectangular area. have an animated looking water. when character enters that area though an interactable ladder or just jump, there will be a small splash then the player will continue to do a set amount of movements while moving around. an exmple is when we move our character forward while facing back ward or forward. all of those are a set amount of movements. so i think a pool should work fine.
5. have an interactable ball. we kick it it goes certain range, we kick it at a harder hold like a charge sword, then it goes farther. should be simple.
6. light torches. we already have lights, but for guilds who already have a set theme, we could use light torches that are interactable. basically we buy handles and torches seperately. place handle on a wall, then place the torch on the handle. players are allowed to take the torche from the handle and carry it around. while carrying it around, the player cannot interact with anything. if the player leaves the room, the torch isplaced automatically back from the last handle it was taken from.
7. baloon decoration we can buy with grafiti and ribbons and other party furniture we can buy to decorate the place when planning fo a party. ballons will be set on a time limit with the graffiti. ribbons should be a permanant decoration. ballons and grafiti would work like after used in a certain space, it will disapear after a set amount of hours have pass like 5 to 10 hours.
8. walking. i greately strees this. while were in the guild or even in haven, any area that prohibits weapons we should be able to walk in. we do not need to run while in those areas. so a toggeled option to walk sounds like a good idea. (like the toggeled option to put enemies on the mini map which got never implemented sigh)
9. chemical vials, lab quipment to set for a robotic lab room theme. it could come as a set we could buy from the emporium. basically they will have several versions. mechanical engineering/electrical engineering lab shows working on robots and figuring out gremlin technology. bioengineering/enviromental engineering lab shows there working on how the crystals work and how it relates to the monsters in the clock works. structural engineering/ literacy shows they are working on new building plans for sk and planing on writing new books for laws of sk. some other specific areas could be playroom everything is interact able there. i would like to include a pet monster tame room, but we dont have pets oh well. well more ideas will come later for more specific rooms.
10. have room to show off armor sets with weapons. basically there will be a number of stands in this room and players can go onto one of those stands to place their favorite sets to show off. it will work like this:
one stand, player goes onto the stand choose a helm armor. the helm and armor visual look will be replicated onto that stand with all the stats and heat level. on the side of the stand the player can replicate the visual look of one sword, and one gun. basically the player isn't really pacing the item there but instead forming a visual replication of that particular armor or weapon. when ever a new player approaches the stand to input there own set, the previous visual stand wil be reseted. the stand will contain the players name and be recorded on the record.
11. ill make this the last cause i can go on forever literally. really simple, have all battle stands contain the player's name that contributed it to for as a record that they contribute there battle stand to that guild. the players name will be recorded on that battle stand at the time it is contributed to that particular guild. during the time it has not been contributed yet, it will contain no name so that way you can still sell you battle stand and not have to worry about your name being on the battle stand when the buyer obtains it. thats all i have for today.

I would like potted flowers. :D
More potted plants. Like bushes... trees. flowers. stuff like that.
Dears,
the new guildhallupdate brought war to our guild. Everyone is fighting against each other because of moved chairs and owned rooms.
In my eyes, it is not ok, that "everyone" is allowed to change the interieur, the rooms and the message of the guildhall. There should be an option to allow or disallow each person if they can change anything in the guildhall. As owner of a guild I want to decide who is allowed to change something in the guildhall and who is not allowed. The way it is now brings just war to all and I am thinking of throwing half of my members out of the guild. I know, that I could demote all Officers and Guildmasters to Members or Veterans, but this is not cooperating with my policy to lead my guild. I use the Guildranking for other thinks than allowing persons to change the guildhall. Please update it one more time and give the option to allow and disallow single persons to change the guildhall. It is necessary to keep the peace in game.

if they disagree with you, then all you have to do is either shoose a line where you guys both agree or just kick them from teh guild. the promotion to officer is suppose to be for the purpose that they can help the guild master in admistrative functions. if you want piece, then just restart your guild, cause a small argument over chairs to get this big of a problem just shows in the long run major topics like upkeep, guild crafter, and many more will just case the guild to collapse. so its's beter if you make your choice now then later when your guild grows.
Sorry, but I can not follow you or agree on your opinion.
My Guild is already grown. I have permanently over 95 Peoples in my guild and we have used the Guildranking wisely. Everyone that should be able to invite persons or should promote recruits or members are above Veterans. So everything ok up to now. But now as the guildhallupdate was coming out every Officer or Guildmaster can not contain themself of decorating the guildhall. Everyone has a different opinion what is beautiful. I have tried to make rules regarding that issue, but however nobody is following this rule. It is not only one person, it is almost everyone that doesn't follow this rule. So if you really think I should demote everyone or throw them out, then the guildhall will not be upkept anymore in this huge amount and Spiral Knights will lose possibly a lot of money if it comes to the same in other guilds. Everyone will have their own guild then and everyone will just be able to keep the main room on the ground floor. That means a lot of money loose for Spiral Knights. I think the policy of the makers of Spiral Knight says that it is better for them to make such little (important) change, than to pass money.
Besides that: I have some recruits, that spended a lot of money for the guildhall. I would better like to allow them to do any changes, than some officers that haven't paid anything until now. But those recruits have not such skills as are needet in my guild to be promoted to officer. So this additional option is really needed in my eyes.

@Severage:
"Your first idea is more or less what I said in this part of my thread."
- Yeah more or less. Just a bit of original Guildhall nostalgia.
"I could implement a completely free-write form of Records. I guess it'd be more simple. You can't always trust people to report inappropriate content though, and the idea was to avoid that. All the information in the Records on the first 3 pages is automatically inserted, so there's no need for moderation. Only the Autobiography page, should OOO deem it worthy, would need moderation, which is why it wasn't there in the first place."
- I believe both that I understand you here and that you misunderstand me (I write this with no offense intended). I support your original idea and am not pressing for a "free-write form of Records." What I suggested was that the simple matter of publicity would be changeable only by the entry's subject: "I think that each entry should default to blank, with the subject having the ability to change its publicity." Again, I write this simply as a clarification, and am in no way attempting to insult you if I am, in fact, misunderstanding you.
-Windsickle

I had an idea but forgot it. Here's a different idea though:
Make alchemy machines buyable as furniture. I want one. :>

"Everyone" is only Officers, GMs and Veterans, I believe. While Veterans shouldn't be able to (Not sure why they can), why would the management positions, Officer and GMs, not be able to modify it?
Unless all 100 of your guild members are Officers and GMs, it shouldn't be hard to tell people not to edit it? Or say "Please do not edit Guild Hall" in MOTD? You'd have to have a really unruly guild.
@Tokinjen: Got potted tree. I'll just make it more vague and say potted foliage so anything can happen.
@Windsickle: Oh, my mistake. I must have read that wrong. I thought you were suggesting free-written records. So you're saying give the option for player's records to be Private? What kind of Private do you mean? Only visible to Guild? Or do you mean not necessary for all guild members to have?
@Artistbma: If I'm not mistaken, there is a purchasable alchemy machine for the Guild Hall already.
@Blandaxt: 1. Wandering Phantom? That'd make your place look damp and spooky, not really help its vacancy.
2. Sounds too complicated...any fire place would do I think. I can add fireplaces to my furnishings.
3. Accessories for furniture? The longest way I'd go with this is a table-top Computer, or flower pot. Having so many accessories would be difficult to manage, I think. Doesn't sound like a terrible idea but most furniture already comes with some sort of "accessory".
4. "water isnt anywhere in sk"
Um, the pool in Haven isn't water? lol. As far as I know - our gear is all mechanical and would probably negatively affect toward water. Just seems counter-intuitive.
5. A soccer ball? Uhh why? lol
6. If there were any torches, they wouldn't be that complicated. They would be preset on the walls. I can add torches in, but they would be presets or furnishings you place on walls already lit. There are no animations for carrying a torch (You'd carry it like a sword), and interacting so much with it seems like a waste of time.
7. Can you say, cray cray partay? Doesn't sound bad, might add in cake or party stuff. A guild could always buy it and store it for the next event. Having a party room wouldn't hurt.
8. Nothing to do with Guild halls?
9. Laboratory rooms...I'm not sure if I like all the doctor business - I don't know who'd buy it. That's kind of an iffy one. I don't know a lot of people who'd decorate their room to be a mad scientist chemist lab.
10. Since almost no armor in this game is really "hard" to get (it all costs the same, only SL gear could be considered more difficult but almost everyone has it now), I don't really see the point.
11. Again, since there are so many Vanguards, and it's a free furniture piece, there's not much reason to show off who donated it.
Thanks everyone!

I told you already why not all Guildmasters or Officers should not be able to edit it, but I can tell you one more time with other words:
Not every GM or Officer is interested in the guildhall (or they say so at least), but they want to move chairs. I think this is not fair. I don't want to have everyone beeing allowed to move chairs. This should be the benefit for people who spend money for the guildhall.
That some of my guildmembers are now unruly is because this game is played also by kids under 18 years of age. Some are under 10 years. Until now this wasn't a problem. But now with the new guildhall it is! Maybe my thinking of leading a guild is an other way like you have, but when a 10 years old child is killing Vanaduke solo, then he is qualified for having the title Veteran in my eyes. And when he is a good player and stays for long time in a guild, then I don't have Problems to promote him also to Officer or higher. Age doesn't matter for me in this case. And until now everything worked well like this (nothing unruly). But now as you brought out the guildhall update that I was not asking for in this way I should change my policy? Sorry, but I don't get the problem why it is not possible to make this little code change. I am in this game for over 1,5 years with my main character and have every sword and almost every armor, guns, bombs, and stuff, was not wanting much until now but this, and you just say "no".

@.@ Wall of text.
Okay, what I'm saying is, how hard is it to tell your guildmates not to move stuff around? The guild I'm in is almost solely comprived of Veterans+ (With exception of newer members), and nobody moves any furniture unless the Guild Master approves of it.
If you have Officers and Guild Masters that can't follow super simple orders like "Please don't move furniture", there's not really any reason to have them as that rank. Demote them, if they want their rank back, tell them they can only move furniture with your consent or something.
But making it so that only the Original Guild Master can move furniture is not a good idea IMO. If he is the only one who can move stuff, and happens to unexpectedly leave for a few days, maybe even a week, it'll be really disheartening for all the other guildies. No '2nd in command' would be able to take over.
"And until now everything worked well like this (nothing unruly).
That's because there was nothing to be unruly about before. Guilds couldn't do anything more than a normal player could. It was impossible to be 'unruly' aside from profanity or something like that.
Now then, I do have some functionality you're looking for in my thread here. But the monarchy you're asking for because of lack of control over your guild members is, imo, inappropriate.
~Sev

Kampfpueppi: Adapt. The game is not built to serve your promotion policy. You have the power to stop disruptive members from messing stuff up: tell them they'll be demoted if caught, or threaten to expel them after three strikes, or something along those lines. Either the disruptive members will knock it off, or they'll go. Either way, problem solved. This is not an issue with the Guild Hall structure, it's an issue with your ability to keep your members in line.
I actually really like the idea of water features; they could be handled similarly to the Town Square fountain, with modular elements for (non-enterable, obvs) pools and fountains. Guild Hall rooms are perhaps a bit too small for sprawling water features, but 2x2 or 3x3 fountains could work. Think of the wall-mounted pools with those squat statues in them that sometimes pop up in garden-themed levels. Speaking of, more statuary! Gun Puppy statues like the ones seen in Haven, Trojan Statues (cf: Silent Legion), maybe even "switch" statues (I dunno if there's a name for them; those squat little guys you use on pressure switches) and (inactive) Totems.
These items in particular would lend themselves to broadened unlock conditions; I like the idea of the Guild Hall being a place to house trophies, whereas currently, furniture is largely a show of straightforward Crown wealth. Obviously these items and others like them would still need to be purchased from the Emporium - let's not kid ourselves, GHs are primarily a Cr sink - but they could be unlocked by completing missions or gaining certain achievements, rather than by simple expansion. Sev, you (correctly) point out that non-SL gear is pretty straightforward to get - but there's merit in using it for decoration, I think. You could unlock larger and/or fancier weapon racks for gaining the relevant achievements, e.g. sword racks for the Swordsman awards, helmet ranks for the Hatter awards &c. Personally I'd prefer the actual items to be decorative copies, rather than having players sacrifice expensive functional gear, but you see what I'm getting at. Quite a lot of extant achievements could be tied to trophy unlocks to spruce up the Guild Hall, comparable to the various Battle Stands we were given with the update. It ties the Guild Hall in with what the players are actually doing. Am I making sense here?

@Sev
Theres a whole room for 75k, but I meant just an alchemy machine alone.

@Severage:
i was about to explode and just create my own thread here. i dont like you disregarding most of my ideas and waswering a "why" have them as an answer. tell me whey have accessories, simple to get players to spend a little more time in the game to extend their gameplay. so why not have a ball. there is no argument saying having a ball is not accessible or having a fire place that the player has to continuously use his crowns to buy wood pieces to burn in the fire place. even the torches to be abke to0 carry them around, i dont know why is that such a problem. wether its too complicated or not it gives the game more variatey. and i really want to know this, if something is not approve by you but agreed upon by a group of players in the forum, does it go into the stack of guild hall ideas? or do you have the final say? cause if you do have the final say, then you just create a small monarchy thread where only ideas that you think are relevant goes into the stack of guild hall update suggestions. if it is a monarchy build you have here, then it defeats the purpose of everyone posting there ideas on this thread. if it is like this, then we may as well go back to having multiple threads all over the place and have to sort through the threads to find whats a good idea or what just didnt reach that mark. anyway im glad someone else likes my idea and i will continuously post my future ideas here if i do not get a blatant answer like "why" or "its too complicated". cause neither of those answers prove that the idea doesn't work nor does it prove that it should not be implemented in the game.
example: ideas that should be implemented into sk;
- an idea that will destroy the ce market.
- an idea that will destroy the element in player versus monster.
- an idea that will destroy the social aspect of sk.
- an idea that will be hard to implement graphically.
- an idea that will allow player to take advantage of sk rules.
- an idea that will anger all the players of sk and make them quit.
-an idea that will make OOO lose money.
-an idea that is discriminatory towards a specific player base group.
-an idea that is discriminatory towards a gender group.
-an idea that allows players to change the rules the devs implement.
-an idea that is game breaking such as a way for knight to leave the planet craddle.
-an idea that leaves empty space that players will never use such as an item that cost 1million ce and has no use in the game.
i think i ot everything. anyway none of my ideas do any of the things i mentioned in my last post, so again my point is why not have it? can you answer that?

Ok seerusly Bland, do you think you can manage shutting that self-entitled little mouth of yours long enough to realize that you DON'T know what's best for everything?
Evidently, obviously and REALLY obviously, Severage is asking for a rational reason why the ideas labelled SHOULD be implemented. Accessories is because people want to feel pretty. A soccerball? Seriously, it'd be fun for the first week or two, but eventually it'll get stuck in a corner and everyone will forget it exists.
"having a fire place that the player has to continuously use his crowns to buy wood pieces to burn in the fire place"
Why would you even do that as opposed to having just a standard fireplace decoration? It's cool to have a burning fireplace, yeah whatever, but it's just plain TEDIOUS to go and have to restart it every few hours.
Holding torches? Now that's just plain unnecessary. It doesn't make anyone look cooler, feel cooler or even help in any way. It'd just sit there. And saying 'It does for me' or 'you don't know till you try' is INVALID. 'Only for you' and 'It doesn't', in that order.
Sev isn't even shooting down your ideas, he's considering them, tweaking them and asking WHY THE SLAG you would even NEED them in a guildhall, and unlike me right now, who is downright sick of your newfound attitude that you are right at least 80% of the time and that everyone else is afraid of your genius, he asked NICELY.
"wether its too complicated or not it gives the game more variatey."
That argument is just BULL. Maybe I should make a thread about bulding blocks to be implemented into SK because although it'd be complicated to program the stacking animations and whatnot, it'll ad variet-stop that right now before you or someone else hurts yourself. I helped negate that argument in another thread, do NOT make me do that again, because I REALLY don't feel like it.
"if something is not approve by you but agreed upon by a group of players in the forum, does it go into the stack of guild hall ideas? or do you have the final say?"
1) It's his thread
2) Unlike a particular someone, he knows what he's talking about
3) Unlike the totalitarian image you're trying, and, by the way, failing miserably to give him, he considers ideas, both sides of the argument, and decides whether or not it'd be good for the guildhalls, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT HE HIMSELF LIKES IT.
"i do not get a blatant answer like "why" or "its too complicated". cause neither of those answers prove that the idea doesn't work nor does it prove that it should not be implemented in the game."
Saying 'why not' isn't grounds for implementation either, you're just shooting yourself in the foot right now.
Either provide a valid argument that can be discussed normally, or don't bother. You're just whining that people don't like your ideas immediately, stop that, or you're just going back to when you first started, and don't think that'll be any better from when it LAST happened.

Look, no offense Blandaxt, but many of your ideas just seem irrelevant.
If there's no real reason to have it, it's more unnecessary work for the Developers. The Devs are short on hands and (usually) take a while to make new things. This is why they Recolor gear, put out CE Events much of the time, and have these really good large updates only once every long time.
Creating more work for the Devs that nobody (or virtually nobody) will use, makes my "Why" and "It's too complicated" arguments relevant. "Why not"? Because the Devs actually have to DO all this work. There's a lot of work entailed in all the intricacies in what you're asking, a lot more than you realize. New animation sets that likely nobody will use more than once, new models that some people will not purchase, new programming of physics like the Soccer Ball that people might use once.
Saying my thread is a "Monarchy thread" is offensive to me. As you can see, my thread is majorly comprised of other people's suggestions. The suggestions that were added? Ones that were reasonable, and had a REAL purpose in-game.
A suggestion that I didn't like is the Mini-games. But, because several people wanted it, I put it in my thread. I was one of the only ones who disagreed with it, but I put it in there anyway because it's the popular idea. So, suggesting that my thread is a "monarchy thread" is very offensive to me, and undermines the thread. Now please, stop derailing it.
PS: If you haven't noticed, I HAVE added some of your ideas that were rational into the thread. But throwing twenty hardly thought-out ideas and expecting them all to be accepted without any conversation is radical and irrational.
@Effrul:
Sorry about this...anyway...
In another thread, someone also suggested a knight-spitting fountain. I agree with you that they shouldn't be enter-able, but some pretty water features sounds nice. I hadn't thought of monster statues either. I'll add these into the OP, they sound pretty cool and decorative, especially for an Aurora Isles-esque Guild Hall.
The idea to tie-in personal Achievements to them is a good one, but there's a problem. If you're one person with the achievements, can you represent the entire Guild by purchasing these weapon racks/decorative gear suits? So, yeah, not sure how that would work. Perhaps it'd be better served just to have the Weapon Racks and Armor Sets.
Donating your armor set to the Guild is steep, but now that I think about it, having a decorative armory room might be kind of cool. Weapon racks and armor sets in cases sounds kinda nice. I can think of no way to make them special though - if you tie-in with Achievements only 1 person would need them, and if you tie-in with donations, they'd be a really show-offy way to display your Guild Hall, and likely vastly un-used.
EDIT: @Artist: Oh, I see what you mean. Hmm...I suppose there's no real harm in it.
~Sev

then does that mean some of my ideas taht you have disagreed with are still viable to be added if it gets support from other people on the forums.
i agree that the indoor pool might not be used taht often, i only included it for rich guild members who just want a room to show off.
the fire place i think would be used quite often, if the fire place itself with the upkeep not too expansive, i would use it often. having wood pieces be bought seperately and giving them a duration they would last, would mean players would buy it when they have the conveinience too and would use it maybe on group meetings or just to chill.
maybe my ball idea would not be used taht often, but i dont think it would include any kind of physics to implement it. maybe the animation needs to included some rules of physics, not the actual programing.
about ur thread being a monarchy, i did not actually say its a monarchy. i said if it is a monarchy, then it's wrong and would defeat the purpose of having multiple ideas come together from groupagreement. i got ur comments on my thread, but i just want to make sure just because you dont like it, it would not mean that it might not get included. also vice versa, if only you like it and a huge amount of people doesn't like it, then you will not include it. thats all.
when i mean accessories for the guild, i mean things like a light over head or having a random robo helper walking around to make things intresting.
so here are my thoughts. have some accessories for the guild that we can buy using the emporium have animations that come with them. example is after you buy a hologram pc (example), you can put this pc on a table where after a knights gets near the table wether that knights is sitting on a chair or standing by the table can interact with the hologram pc and look like he or she is typing. this animation would be like the animation that happens when a knight is looking at the ce prices or equiping a weapon.
some other accessories that come for furniture or just for the guild would be: lamp that creates floting bubles activates on interaction, a book a knight could grab and look like he/she is reading it, some kind of drink in a mug or cup if the knights drink anything?, a pedilum that activates on interaction, and many more.
some other ideas i have is for there to be more emphasis on the animations when interacting with the current furniture that is available. exampels are:
Bed: when interacting with the bed, the knights does not only lay there but after sometime, the knight will turn or put the covers on. the covers do not have to be perfect, so regardless of the armor the knight is wearing, it will just show the lower part of the knights body covered.
chairs: when sitting on a chair, have different siting animations when the player is not interacting with anything. some animations are thinking where the knights will look up while scartching his head. another animation is bored where the knight is putting his head towards the floor. not all armors that the knigt is wearing will look good with this animation.
some other interaction knights can have with the current guild furniture is when next to a container, have the knight be able to open it up as if looking for something then closing it after done. (it would be nice if we could actually use them as small conatiners that hold up to 2 sets of the same type of equipment, like 2 guns, 2 helms, 2 swords and so on. it would have a label and can only be accessed based if it's only for officers/guild masters storage or for all general members. just a side idea.)
when next to a stand, have an interaction that tells you who it belongs to. this would show as a representation that such and such player contributed to the guild and a date when it was contributed.
when next to a dresser, (i do not know if they have an animation for it.) have an animation taht lets a knight open it up, make it look like he is looking at a celection of costumes that the knight could wear. if possible, again, i would like the dresser to have a specific function where a knight could store a number of costumes inside the dresser which other knights in the guild would be able to wear base on if the dresser is for geenral memebrs of the guild or just for officers/guild masters.
when next to a table, have the view of the camera change to a first person view so that if two knights where in the opposite side of the table, they would be able to see each other in first person view. this would go well if both knigts were sitting down on a chair and if there was an accessory (i described what a furniture accessory is on the top) at that table where a knight will look like he/she is busy performing a task.
i would like if possible to make almost all interaction with any item turn the camera to first person view, but if only on the table that will be fine.
be able to preview any item that is buyable besides upgrades. examples are furniture, snipes, and others (this was sugested in another thread, which i do not rremeber the name :P).
last but not least, make a way that a guild can change the theme of a particular (this is described above, but i would like to emphasized it.) room where it will look like were looking at a scenery. before the guild update, the old guild room had a scenery like stand where when a knight aproaches the edge of the stand, the camera view would change and it would look like the knight is staring far into the distance.
