This update has been in the works since roughly january 9th.
I even made a voltaic tempest recently for the sole purpose of fighting black kats when the update came.

YES YES YES YES YES! I will
YES YES YES YES YES! I will now try to craft like crazy to get that Chaos set after this event. I've got my Heavenly Iron set to give me that curse resist. Did I mention that I'm going to run Candlestick Keeps and Scarlet Fortress depths like crazy? Black Kat = PROFIT... I'll just have to watch out for anything that shocks. 14 second shocks with Heavenly Iron are not fun. Still, getting my curse reduced to only 2 vials and 1 weapon is very beneficial.

Radiant Silvermail would probably be better armor than complete Heavenly Iron Set. It gives Immunity to Weak Curse, Damage Bonus Undead: High (Damage Bonus Overall: Low) along with only 50% Shock Weakness... Unless you don't have it.

BEST ARMOR FOR THIS!
The best armor for this is deadshot armor. Curse Resist, Shadow Resist, Normal Resist Undead med damage bonus, AND GUN ASI LOW bonus!
Set gives 8 points curse resist, undead vh damage bonus, gun asi med and lots of shadow and normal resist, since cats to normal and shadow damage.

For people who care:
- Radiant Silvermail appears to be the choice of armor for this event. In additional to curse resistance, it provides Undead damage bonus;
- for helmet, Divine Veil, Heavenly Iron and Valkyrie Helm all have equal curse resistance. Almirian Crusader Helm has the lowest curse resistance among all helmets.
Eh... is it just me or there is something not right about that curse resistance on Almirian set?

I honestly felt it was balanced the way it was having boosts on ALL weapons with the status resistances being it's set back in both PvP AND PvE aspects. Felt more like a 'Skilled at all, master of none' set. Now it just feels OP. I guess more power to me it being my favorite set.
So even being a little less squishy, it's punch is as powerful as a skolver/snarb, shadowsun, AND mad bomber. nice going. I have no need to use any other armor sets in the game.
I hope it's just a temporary thing for the update provided it fits the event theme.

What!
WHAT IS THIS? Who in everything holy thought it was appropiate to buff Chaos Set and leave Mad Bomber still like this? No, seriously. Revert this non-intelligent decision right now, because I feel offended as a part-time bomber. This is some seriously wrong approach to gear "balancing". Are you going now to pull a bait and switch later on and nerf then? Will you pay the people who now craft a Chaos Set? Also, will you remove the status weaknesses Mad Bomber has? Please don't answer "but Chaos Set has more status weaknesses". I couldn't care less about Stun, etc. Etc being dissapeared Sleep.
And a timed event? This is what you spent time and resources instead of something factual, something permanent, something your audience can always enjoy after a year of just behind paywalls content and "once in a time per day and just one of them each 4 days" missions? Also, the stats of those masks are horrendous, you couldn't actually create an useful set of gear, who cares about those pieces when you have that awesome Chaos Set you just created?
The only happy part? Less expensive CE. Who cares when I can't still buy with it Crimson Hammer!

I hope they will do this event very often because I really want all the helmets but there is ABSOLUTLY no way that I will manage to find 200 Black Kats + have enough time to craft a 5* within 2 weeks, there is no way I'll be able to pull that off, so I hope to see this event again in the very near future.

A new feature that wasn't mentioned: whenever you run over a vial with full pockets, you get an "inventory full" message.
Also, I'm a bit disappointed that the 3D models in tooltips don't include furniture.

@eltia one so far. EDIT: also, secret change is secret. one of the scarlet fortresses have been changed! It's the one with the infinite looping explosive bombs in it at the beginning, instead of hitting switches to change gates on the path when carrying the statue, you change gates so you can hit a switch out in the air.

And speaking of that, why'd you have to go and make Mad Bomber obsolete by giving Chaos EXACTLY what it has, but for all weapons? If you're going to do that, can't you at least give Mad Bomber Shadow defense, so Bombers can get actual Shadow Defense after this event? It takes Trojan Horseshoes to make.
If I were in your place and absolutely HAD to keep Chaos's boosts the way you put 'em, I'd take away almost all its defenses and HP boosts. Chaos is supposed to be a "Glass Cannon" armor, when really it's a "Plateglass Cannon" armor. Actually, now it's more of a "Plateglass Nuke".

Overall I'm happy with this
Overall I'm happy with this update (now I have a reason to dust off my chaos set!) with one exception: 200 tokens to make it to a 5* kat hat in two weeks is REALLY substantial given the spawn rate for black cats. After finishing several runs, my party was averaging 1 black kat per floor, and only on those floors that were specifically kat-heavy. We came out of a t2 run with a grand total of 3 tokens, and a t3 run with the same. Add the prestige, that's 10 tokens so far out of quite a few levels. So 200 tokens, plus mats, crafting costs, etc. in two weeks? Mmmmm, I dunno...

About the previews
Okay, that 3D model for equipment? That's cool, but nothing we couldn't already do with the preview button. You know where we really need that? Furnishings. Please, please, pretty please. I've been begging for a preview function for furniture for a while now, and this seems the perfect way to do it.
(Oh, and please also add the previews to accessories and have armor/helm previews include attached accessories.)

Everything seems broken.
Me and a friend ran the mission earlier, and we saw 3 black kats. Now, the patch notes say in tier 3, they drop 3 ancient pages right?
The last two didn't drop any at all.
Since then, I've been going down to T3 candlestick over and over (<3 temporary elevator price reduction), and I've done so countless times now, but I have yet to see anymore black kats. Can anyone confirm seeing them outside the mission?
Either there's various things not mentioned in the patch notes (very rare outside of mission, can drop >UP TO< 3 in tier 3, etc), or they're very broken at the moment.
or me and my friend just have VERY bad luck.
Props for all the cutting down on the abuse!
