Me and a friend ran the mission earlier, and we saw 3 black kats. Now, the patch notes say in tier 3, they drop 3 ancient pages right?
The last two didn't drop any at all.

The scripted black kat spawns in that mission don't drop tokens, probably to prevent farming.

And I agree. I've done at least 10 runs involving candlestick keep, half of them being the Occurence at Owlite Keep mission, which has Cravat Hall III and Candlestick Keep (Quite a few kats), and I've only found 1.

At this rate, I'd be lucky to get a single 3* hat by the 13th.

While I see your point about scripted kat spawns likely made to not drop any tokens, I don't see how making them do so would allow farming.
Isn't that exactly why it's tagged "this mission can only be played once per day"?

Regarding the rag saying "this mission can only be played once per day," it still seems playable after doing it. How do you tell when it will give you pages again?

I've gotten not one, but *two* Mewkats since the event started, but not a single Black Kat. (outside of the Prestige mission)

I'm not sure whether to be bummed out or not.

Also, @Halandin; You only get the reward once per day.

An exciting event, and the new rewards look fun! But two minor nitpicks...

The token vendor is located in moorcroft manor, which means that players are charged a 200 crown fee just for the privilege of looking at the new items. And we're charged again and again with each subsequent visit.

Given the relevance to an ongoing event: could we please revisit the idea of removing elevator fees, which are an increasingly outdated and silly legacy of a pre-mission system of gameplay? Or at the very least, could we please only be charged the elevator fee when we actually go down the elevator?

Separately, I'm also hearing similar concerns in-game about the spawn rate of black kats. At the present rate (4 pages/day for the T3 mission), a player whose only source of pages was the one-a-day mission could expect to run 15 missions = 60 pages = 25% of the cost of a single 5* reward. I can understand the desire to limit mission rewards, but requiring someone to play the same event four years in a row for a single hat is pushing it.

OOO, Increase the spawn rate of black Kats. This is absolutely ridiculous how I (and a couple of guildmates) have to spend hours just to find ONE. At least the Pumpkin King and Winterfest events were fair. You made the spawn rate like .01%. Heck, I've seen more Mewkats than Black Kats so far. -.-

It's not a 5* drop. It's a token drop, of which you need 200 to get a 5 star item. If they want to keep the book drop rate low, they could increase the Black Kat spawn rate and lower the book drop rate.

I'm not saying make them as common as a normal monster, but at least make them more common than a persistent rare monster (that won't be gone after the event).

blackkats sometimes drop a book along with the tokens. you must take the book to moocraft manor and give it to the konjuring kat and it will summon a boss. once the boss its defeated it will give you the black kat cowl 5 stars (unbound) but i admit its quite rare to get blackkats. i got my book on my third blackkat. but there a warning. if you have someone dead on the party and the blackkat drops the book. the one who is down in the party dont get the book. So be pretty careful when picking up books if some of your partners are dead.

I don't like the Black Kat portion of this update. Too much chances involved. You need to pick a map with Kats and then pray the Black Kat will spawn. And then when it does spawn, you can only hope it drops that book.

The three new craftable Kat hats are not that interesting. The bomber hat seems to be even better than Mad Bomber Hat (and it comes with Shadow resistance). Why don't you guys just make Mad Bomber set to have Shadow resistance instead?

Overall, I rank PK > Winterfest > Black Kat. PK is pretty fun and there is a reason why it's fun but this BK isn't.

@Dmatter oh gee thanks! It wasn't that as well, i want to solo it to feel awesome. I may not soloed every boss in this game yet (Ice Queen, Red Roarmulus Twins and Rabid Snarbolaxs are the ones remaining) but i do it for a challenge.

Chainguy: That actually sounds really plausible! If that's the case, then I'll probably retract my statement and wait to see how fun this gets. I hope that they do increase because the bad luck will increase on the way toward the 13th, right? I'll craft my chaos set and be patient for the kitties.

umm also could be the level Theme. for example the one of this day its about venom theme. probably the one of tomorrow would be fire. but its a thought. but the cat number its the one that make me wonder if it will give more tokens as rewards or more black kats to fight.

i have a doubt: if i use the Dark ritual book with a party:

Everyone will get the black kat cowl?
will be a random person choosen to be the owner of the kat cowl?
or only the owner of the book get the cowl and everyone in the party need a book to get a cowl?

the new 'inventory full' icon which pops up all over the playing field on vials and caps seems kind of pointless and adds a bit too much clutter on the screen in my opinion. i would rather be able to see more of the battle field and the monsters, than icons which are easily replaced by just looking up at the vial slots at the top of my screen for .1 nanoseconds.

How rare are ancient tomes? Can you give me a percentage?

i do like 62 per day :3 its only matter to have friends hunting down blackkats like pumking nest. help friends and they will help you.

I feel like the Black Kat spawn rate needs to be upped a little. As of now, i have not found any for the past 2-6 hours i been hunting.

Honestly I think this event is badly thought out.

I am basing my judgement on the moral : One should be rewarded for how hard he worked. Basically meritocracy.

It can't be placed on the aspect of luck, by trying to find a black kat. This is similar to winterfest, where the humbug hat is dropped by luck. This means some guy can get the hat on their first try, and some others take 50 confirmed kills to get 1. It is not such a fair event.

Yes, elevator passes come in, and everyone can farm. Technically you paid to get an incentive, this incentive is going for more runs, thus increasing chances of getting a hat. But what if some free to play player gets their hat on the first try, and those who paid for elevator passes get their hats after 6 hours of non-stop hunting?

So generally, I think a better aspect, which is gathering tokens, is worth better than hoping black kats spawn here and there.

Hmm, from what i see, im a really lucky guy! almost everytime i run candlestick keep, i get a black kat, i once got 5 kats inna row, one mission after the other and i always share my finds so my friends when im hunting are always keeping their eyes on me :) I literally got the 4* mask in 2 nights, plus i found a few love pups, but no book...
