Have been for a while now, I used to be Sword / Gun and Sword / Bomb. But nothing is as fun as getting up close and personal, parrying and attacking. Unless I find it absolutely necessary in Firestorm Citadel, I'll probably stay that way.

I'm a gun sworder, that leans

I'm a gun sworder, that leans more towards swords. I like to go toe to toe with the enemy, and mostly use my guns in situations where I don't feel safe going into the fray. Since my main gun is the magnus, that means either I'm trying to break up a pack of gremlins/fiends, or I'm picking something off. (Or if I'm in T3, I'm trying to draw some wolvers away from the fray)

i have 3 slots. i use all 3 weapons.

1) for dodging enemies i lay bomb traps and finish off with sword
2) for graveyards i use guns and bombs
3) for puppies i use guns and swords

and mix it up for the rest tbh...

Sword/Gunner. I lean a little on Swords more because they do more damage, but I use and switch between both actively and like being thought of a Gunner more than a Swordsman. Right now I'm aiming for Levi+Vali, but in the future I may go for Final Flourish, Glacius, Valiance and Venom Veiler.

I use a Graviton or a Toxic Atomiser (UV: Damage vs Slimes, High) as my primary bomb, and a Pepperbox or a Needleshot as my firearm. I intend to buy the extra weapon slots so I can carry both bombs, and once I get 4 weapon slots, I'll carry Nitronome, too. I wear demo suits, heading for Mad Bomber.

Alot of people use only guns or only swords..and sadly, only bombs. I prefer 4 swords, as guns are useless and bombs are..fun?

I have 4 weapon slots and use all the weapon types in the game when it is most advantageous to use that weapon type. If you want a class goes play another game.

how bout if you rename the name of this thread to something like "which kind of weapons do you have equipped and use most of the time"??? that way some ppl might not miss the point so bad :P... true there is no such thing as a "class" but it IS possible to say "hey i usually play with a sword and a gun" or "i prefer to play mostly with guns"... someone might argue that going "exclusive X" be it swords, guns or bombs its stupid, but i guess thats more in the way you use it...

i suppose it would be Sword/gunner, though i normally use one of my two swords(Blazebrand and CIC, currently)I use my gun(Master Blaster)for specific enemies(lumbers, Gun puppies if they're across a gap)or if i'm low on health.

Guns and bombs are fun for me. Swords, to me, are, well.....not fun. I am pretty adamant about getting close to enemies. Most of the big damage comes at close range, which is enough to make me stay away from swording. I rarely melee, and when i do, i usually use a wrench wand, which i use only for beating the dirt out of annoying constructs.
EDIT:BTW, I used to be a full gunner, till i picked up a Cold Snap, and that was the first time i made it through Venom Fang Arena: Wrench Warfare without rezzing.

I had to go inside the pyramid:) I usually run 2 swords 1 bomb, one gun in dungeons, the gun is mostly for triggering traps and killing gunpuppies. The bomb is my shivermist buster (I would rather lose my shield than this thing) and then two swords that change based on the stratum.

I think I am fairly balanced.

I think I am fairly balanced. 2 swords, freeze bomb, and freeze gun.

The swords I use vary on what stratum I am doing. But I like to keep one fast sword with significant push and lunging ability. Basically I use it to push through a pack for specific targets or when there is only 1-3 targets in range of attacking me. I originally used the cutter line for this but currently I am using a flourish.

The second sword is slow and has a wide ae range on the attack for bigger groups. I like the sealed sword line for this and lean towards the avenger upgrade line due to its charge attack.

Currently I am using the freeze line of haze bombs. I tend to only use it when I am getting swarmed but for that alone it is worth the weapon slot.

My gun is the cryo line and it performs above and beyond what I first expected. If I need to kite, it freezes and does damage when it falls so I can focus on the non frozen ones to maximize the total damage it does. Also the shots can bounce which further spreads it. Although the freeze is typically not respected in groups, it still gets the job done.

Making this up as I go.

Blastblade: a Spiral Knight who uses swords and bombs in equal measure. Styles include using bombs to herd enemies into a corner, blocking a corridor, and clearing foes from allies in distress.

Strengths: Area control, high damage output, selfless
Weaknesses: Changes tactics suddenly, reckless

Current equipment: Fused Demo Set, Scarlet Shield, Tempered Calibur, Super Blast Bomb. Going for utilitarian and decent damage in all situations, given my limited weapon slots.

I think that knowing what class you are refers to your playstyle and, consequently, the smartest investments that you'll make into your equipment. For instance, I don't buy (many) guns, because I know that I won't use them as much as my bombs or swords. I look for high health and damage reducing armor rather than status resistors because I'm well aware that I take lots of damage by constantly wading into combat and kiting.

There are definitely classes implicit in the game. You wouldn't expect someone with a Gunslinger set to use nothing but bombs, would you?
