I feel like most of the hate that is on this forum is because they didn't come up with it first, not because it's a bad idea, so can people doing that change that?
Attitude
Actually 80% of the "new" ideas have been discussed plenty of times.
People are angry because "this crap again?!?"
The rest, people are rude but have valid arguments. Lack of manners you may say.
I get angry when people don't read the forum rules and post the same thing 100 other people have posted. Also when they post an idea that says "hey we should add this becauz it is aweseom and i liek it GM comment please."
"I feel like most of the hate that is on this forum is because they didn't come up with it first"
What you mean 5* Winmillion? Healing items? Sniper rifles? Dual-wielding? Weapons that use energy? I'd be very surprised if not all the regulars on these forums came up with all of these ideas themselves and dismissed them for being pretty bad. I've certainly yet to see a bad idea around here I hadn't thought of myself first.
I hate ideas that have no interesting content, introduce nothing new, solve no problems, create more problems than solve, were spawned from selfish wants, reward unintelligent button mashing, punish thoughtful and intelligence requiring play, involve distasteful stereotyping, pander to the majority, punish team play, reward solo play, create further equipment imbalance, attempt to fix something but blatantly fail, attempt to create something new but blatantly fail, allow inflation to grow significantly, allow players to progress with obtaining higher rank equipment faster, create pay-to-win, explicitly demand Nick and friends respond, involve anything weeaboo, or go against what I personally want to see since I could probably add twenty more things that annoy me but I want to go home.
In terms of the person who made the thread I hate when they pretend their idea is perfect, respond to criticism by throwing a tantrum, explicitly demands Nick and friends post, lie about their supposed originality, or are selfish bastards in general. I have less expectations of the person who makes the thread than the idea itself. Look at myself, most of the time people hate even thinking about me, yet I shell out some alright stuff. Not necessarily perfect or so amazing that it causes your buttocks to clench until they implode into themselves, but(t) better than a thread which is nothing more than "herp derp I want pets because they kill stuff for me and flop flop saggy granny arms".
I am going to use that paragraph in a quote in the future, probably.
My point was that people don't give good reasons for saying no and just criticize and it's not constructive.
"My point was that people don't give good reasons for saying no and just criticize and it's not constructive."
Repeating oneself hundreds of times over and over does get a little repetitive, after a while we get tired of telling people what should be common knowledge and sense.
It's very mentally taxing to offer constructive criticism for every single half-baked idea that comes out of people's heads. I don't mind giving it every now and then, but over and over and over and over? No way. Destructive criticism is much easier.
People don't know how old timer feels at first. I sure as hell didn't when I entered the forum -_-
Old timer want something polished, clean and work free for OOO but to implement these changes.
So I refrain a lot of my ideas because they are just funky ideas I wanted to share with people but nobody is in the mood to chatter about it. Yes there is an attitude problem on this forum that I don't see on many others. The "I've seen it before so it's old for me, you are new, get on my level you scrub" is kinda... well... IDK how to put it but you get the point.
I thought we could share some funky ideas and develop upon it just because, hey, we have free time and let's try to build something instead of crushing everything that comes our way.
There's no point in suggesting for me anymore.
All old timer wants is LD balance, new boss, de-buffed monster and new weapons. Others suggestions that are not related to this are IMMEDIATELY thrown in the garbage.
This game is going nowhere mostly because of it's community member who are... well... better than anyone because they seen it before...
*sigh*
Internet...
I'm not as frustrated about it as I'm making it out to be. In practice, I tend to just ignore threads that don't interest me or fail to read through a thread that isn't high-quality. I do agree that we forum-readers are a bit harsh on new posters, who don't know or recognize forum etiquette until they've made a few mistakes along the way. I think the best way to handle them is to kindly direct them to the search bar, instruct them not to necro old threads, and let them loose with their ideas.
Then, we should either offer constructive criticism or none at all.
Yeah, sorry if I am slightly, maybe largely neophobic, but...
My hate towards people mainly comes toward how poorly made a suggestion is done. Go to some thread, and they give a one liner : "Add new weapons plz" "Add new boss" "Add new content" or sometimes lack of information, basically what Lug said. You tell me you want this, I tell you a 100 questions that could have been answered if the OP had actually put in effort to brainstorm. Now repeat this for 100 more threads. That's 10000 questions.
I would much appreciate if forumers at least go through the 6 basic questions : Who, Where, What, How, When, Why
Next thing to note is whether someone changes their attitude. Just don't be narrow-minded, like what Lug said.
About originality, I don't really like it when someone posts something EXACTLY IDENTICAL to previous threads. Personal Houses, water etc.
Originality don't really matter because people think differently, even in a common theme, but unless you post a thread that is not even worthwhile to read, I will stamp an "Unoriginal" word there, because somebody else beaten you to there, and was even better than yours.
Want to have a decent suggestion thread, and without any hate and crushing? Do the following, and you might succeed :
1) Just be creative :
Like the people before me said. Don't bring a suggestion that have been suggested bazillion times before, and was clearly stated why it shouldn't be implemented or why is it bad.
2) Use proper spelling :
We aren't in a Writing Exam of the IELTS Test, but using proper spelling is needed for proper communication. Please read the following carefully :
Very Important : Don't expect a friendly, decent, non-hostile, good feedback, if you use the following abbreviations or phrases in your thread :
( u - r - ur - i - dnt - plz - awsum - gm cmment - i wnt - i rly leik dis - ur sutpit dat dnt undrstnt wat iam syin - ur jst hetful - u r a n00b - rmov AA plzzzzz - i'm da bst ld plyr eva - i cn pwnz u so esy etc... )
3) Accept criticism and don't act like a turd.
4) Form a good image of yourself in front of the forumers.
If they were harsh, rude with you, reply to them with a better way. Never try to turn the fire off with gasoline. It is bad, really bad.

A tired forumer...
Most of the hate comes from a dislike of the idea and fear of the damage it would cause if implemented. But the idea that people hate some suggestions because they didn't come up with them first is, to put it simply, ridiculous. If anything, it's the reverse: we hate on ideas that people *didn't* come up with first. How often have you heard posters complain that an idea has been suggested before? Yeah, a lot.
