Violent Lockdown Resolution (GvG Lockdown Solution)
Thanks for the clean games EoS! They were really enjoyable without Polaris. ^o^
Looking forward to fight you again.
~Dragneel
There is no First Blood anymore. We have merged with Blue Storm. Just heads up with that.
Also LMAO for removing Ultra XD

Daily reminder that jempire is not on this list. Jempire's tactics are so degenerate that they had to create Minions of Jempire to GVG themselves.
Yep. I get a certain form of satisfaction when killing their PPB style
(Polaris Panic Button)
Choose your scenerio!
Gunner? polaris.
Bomber? polaris.
Not in the fight? polaris.
In the fight? polaris.
randomly walking down the ally? Polaris.
in haven? Polaris.
at home? polaris.
Anyway, bump cause more guilds should join this style.
It's good to encourage in RLD as well!
Nice guidelines. Hopefully this will spread better attitudes around Lockdown.
I've been in Jempire for around a year, and here are my opinions on this matter. We have no gear restrictions in Lockdown. We carry as many polarises as we want, or alchemers, or whichever weapon. This GvG limitation is not in accord with our attitude towards Lockdown. We strongly discourage spawncamping. It's shameful. No problems here. We strongly discourage trash talking for the same reason.
Minions of Jempire are there for when we want to fight each other. It's fun, especially when no other guilds are up to the task. Is fighting your own guild considered degenerate? Also, why would other guilds care? It's a game, perhaps criticizers are taking the Lockdown minigame much too seriously.
Unless of course, you're infuriated at Jempire's point massing, which goes on despite measures by other guilds to avoid T3 LD when we're playing. Yes, we enjoy our #1 slot, and have for the past year and a half. Nothing I can do about this to assuage your discontent.

And well done on this initiative :)
The problem with Minions is that it counts towards your rank score, which people really shouldn't care about since it doesn't represent anything anyway.
Well to an extent it represents win rate in contrast to games played. For instance, I hold a fair amount of ranking because I play 200 a week winning on a 5:1 ratio (even with that horrible string of 9 losses earlier this week--Blue was there I think--I still came out even with the next 9).
But since it doesn't show how many games you played, there's no way to tell.
If you strongly discourage trash talking have a word with your minions of tempi.
Fought them today and they had the worst attitude i've seen in a long while..
Never had a problem with jemps despite it being seemingly popular, but these people got me as far as trash talking myself.
Feyi.
Who were they? Feel free to message me ingame.
I guess stuff happens.
And...well, we have around 170 people in the main guild. Some people can be like that...especially if they haven't slept for a lengthy period of time. We had some people do that today.
Minions can get a bit unruly sometimes. Maybe we need to feed them more regularly and fix the leaks in their GH roof...
Entendue: It's okay, didn't get my feels hurt or something. Besides as I said, made the mistake of trashtalking back so..
Just wanted to let you know.
@Troupemaster (that's you ingame right?)
They did seem obsessively focused on 'moar, we need to beat jemps'. And one of them asked if (s)he could heat his/her FF.
Tighten that leash boys, before they go on strike!
Also: getting off topic, so imma shut it. VLR YAY!
Try to stay on topic guys
As far as guilds not involved by either declining or breaking rules it is fine plain and simple VLR is created to help the community of GvG Lockdown and promote growth of other guilds, but declining or breaking these stated rules all you are doing is being a negative factor towards the community of Spiral Knights.
Playing with yourself to gain points is something VLR does not care about *I mean if you cant get laid I guess that is your only option*.
Updates:
I will look over some VLR stuff this week and talk to the other guilds I am certain GvG will grow a bit more with the new changes and summer right around the corner. Honestly, the only issue we been seeing with VLR (Kinda what I expected) is lack of excitement for guilds to play one another I will be working on this though with the other guild masters involved.

VLR-based tournament with high-stakes
The publicity would promote VLR beyond what it is now, and make it the standard. Also please add Blue Storm to this list, thank you.
" Yes, we enjoy our #1 slot, and have for the past year and a half."
I enjoy my number 1 slot at being the tallest guy that lives in the house contest, but I'm still 5'6", and it still doesn't grant me anything special besides... bragging rights? lol
Also have held this record for 3 years.
I win!
Quote Neo: Daily reminder that jempire is not on this list. Jempire's tactics are so degenerate that they had to create Minions of Jempire to GVG themselves.
The minions were created because of the factor of when a guild one week tried to get number one and held the spot. they told all other guilds to stop playing. Unfairly getting number one because of a pact and using a loophole. You dont get number one by cheating, you have to earn it, so the minions were made to out due the said guild at the time. They are also our practice guild. The minions are the best guild in game. Like no lie the minions A team can crush even Jempire.
I'm very happy the mods moved this thread before I could even request it. This means alot--a nice small gesture. It's sad to say though that VLR may be obsolete due to dash.
After dash, Jempire is no more than just a rival.
If there is a wall of spammers who are spamming the spam gun, my suggestion is that you go recon and go the back way, and then start hitting them with your GF, and follow up with a gun.
"There is no First Blood anymore. We have merged with Blue Storm. Just heads up with that."
My bad. Could have sword I saw Blue Storm appear on the front list, but was mistaken. Just a bit surprised when we were down a guy and 4 of ya were wailing on the polaris.
It's all good though.
We still won :)
Edit: and props for this appearing in the LD thread! Good stuff.
Hot damn was this today? I keep telling them to follow that ruleset.
There's a bit of broken formatting in the main post, just wanted to let you know.
@Neodasus
The dash isn't a lot faster than the striker dash and although it is, it is only temporarily as its speed is far from as constant as the one of the striker dash.
This is stupid, just sell your Polaris to a NPC if you don't like other players using theirs.
Just don't rely on status to set a good example.
Why revive even once if that's so bad?
All of these things can be done individually. You don't need to have your guild name on some made up list do all these things.
/jemp with no pulsar line gun
thread revs more than jemps in gvg
I've seen it argued successfully several times that lockdown is a joke and you should all treat it as such. Having this VLR thing is not going to solve much problems when you have here, a game with what is essentially a Master Loadout and slight variants that rarely ever rewards a creative playstyle. Instead we should figure out more ways of popularising loadouts like the essential shard bomber, triglav charger or other innovative playstyles preferably ones that dont involve the devil's fourway (pulsar, GF/DA, flourish, brandish). Guaranteed you'll have much more fun!
The thing about popularizing non-optimal loadouts is, well, there are better ones.
Welp since this long dead thread has been revived for god knows what reason, I may as well address the issues stated by the forum necrophiliacs.
@Theirillusion Nobody said we hated our polarises. It was the first 5* item I ever had, and I love it to this day. There is no denying the fact that it provides unparalleled area control, massive damage, and a decent shock chance to boot. In summary, the polaris is an amazing gun. However, many GvG matches were becoming frustrating to players because of the sheer amount of polaris used. The spam made it difficult to fight anyone using conventional tactics, and matches often degenerated into pure polaris spam battles. While that can be fun, it can also be incredibly annoying, especially to those players that don't have powerhouse computers or above average internet connections. And I'm not going to say it was all the doing of one guild. Quite a few guild teams used quite a lot of polaris, so the pulsar rule was set up to make it not as frustrating to those involved.
In regards to the revive rule, keep in mind that this thread is from EIGHT months ago, so mist was still around. The current CE revving makes long term revving much more cost efficient compared to the old methods, so revving a lot now doesn't cost as much as it used to. The 3 rev limit was put in because most players had mist when they played GvG, and most players could not afford to rev heavily, as the costs doubled each time. It was deemed fair to rev a few times if you got a 20 sec rev or needed to get back to a point ASAP or whatever the reason was, because most players could afford it, and the energy-deficient players would not be shut down by richer players that could afford to rev after each death.
@Aus-Lagger Everyone plays this game for a different reason. While some players can derive pleasure from doing clockwork runs with their guildmates and friends, not everyone is in the same boat. The main motivation to play this game for me changed from PvE to PvP, as did many other players. Demanding that players that enjoy the PvP aspect of this game to treat it as a joke is as asinine as me telling you to treat PvE as a joke, because I don't like it.
In regards to master loadouts, there's a place to test out fun, imaginative loadouts. It's called Random Lockdown. GvG is generally the place for competitive matches where having the best possible loadout is the norm. And even there, not every player is running in full skolver gear with an FF, GF, and polaris (although the vast majority are). There are many hybrid players that dominated, gunners, bombers, recons, you name it. If you had actually taken part in these matches, or spectated, you would have noticed that not every match was 6 clones vs. another 6 clones. And I can confidently say that I have as much fun as I want, regardless of what loadout I'm using.
Also, if you know of the guilds involved in the VLR, you will see that many of the guilds involved by no means label themselves as LD guilds. While some of the matches we had were incredibly competitive and loaded with skill, others were simply for pure fun, with one team going in knowing that they didn't have a team that would be considered "good" at LD, but still had a great time playing. By having a few guidelines to make the environment a bit less harsh and leaderboard focused, I think I am safe saying that most of the guilds involved had good experiences, and appreciated the VLR for what it was: unifying. We made some good interguild relationships because of these rules, and I have friends today that I possibly might have never met if not for the VLR.
I am by no means the spokesperson for LD, GvG, other guilds, or the VLR rules. However I saw no purpose in the revival of this dead thread, and the arguments that brought it back to life are, quite frankly, petty and pointless. Hopefully I have shed some light upon why the guilds involved agreed to these arguments, and how although it wasn't permanent, the VLR gave us a damned good time.
and it helped my guys become a bit more active in LD. We even held the #4 spot for a while, fairly consistently. I think that if we avoid spawn camping and the bad attitudes, that should be enough to keep VLR going. Polaris is annoying, but it can be countered as well.
Besides, I love the Jemps. Good peeps over there, and always a fun game.
Wow, what an awesome post! Thank you for taking the time to make it. It helped me see some things in a different light.

Had to remove Ultra for lack of following rules
