STATUS POKER

Have you ever wanted to get rich in Spiral Knights really fast? Show off your new prismatic, CTR VH, and ASI VH items?

Have you ever wanted to Test your luck and go home with thousands of crowns!?

If you have answered yes to any of these then you are the perfect contestant for the new game Status Poker!
=================================================================================
What is Status Poker?

"Status Poker was a game created by Remexe and Mister-Chilled to implement a Gambling Game/system into the SK Economy."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you play: “The rules are Simple”
---Step one: Bet a certain amount of Crowns/CE and give it to the Dealer.
---Step two: Pick one of the five Colors: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, White

After you choose your color, the dealer will have two chances to pick your color using the Sealed Sword’s Charge attack.

If the Sealed Sword lands on one of your colors then you double your money.

If the Dealer doesn’t land on your color then the Dealer keeps the Money.

(((SPECIAL CASE))): If the dealer’s first and second roll land on your color then you quadruple your amount of money placed.

Or you can just do anything in Spiral Knights. The entire game is devised around gambling, from the prize wheel to the lockboxes to the random drops to the UV system.

I honestly wasn't sure about it at first, but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a pretty darn fun game,and addictive too. And, while most would question on whether or not the game is trustworthy, it is quite safe, and the dealer is fair and trustworthy,so I can vouche for his legitimacy. Overall, It's worth checking out if you are bored and have some extra crowns on your hands.

Wait a minute.... Isn't Player-Hosted Gambling forbidden in most other games? I suppose so...

And I don't think SK is an exception here...

By the way. Nice way of making a fast and low-risk income Remexe, it is a smart, yet an illegal way I suppose, at least in my morals they are...

Look, I don't make a lot of money off this game, I do it mainly for the players. If the player has no interest in playing then they don't have to, it is soley for fun. If It was for the money I would put a minimum bet of 5k cr, but it's not... I have noobs coming to test their lucky for 20cr a round;guess what? they have a blast.

For the many other players who due in fact Love Status Poker, thank you very much!

P.S. This is 100% legal, and has no moral flaws...

I just don't want to see this

I just don't want to see this spiral into a gambling network that people use to scam others with. It's called gambling for a reason.

I'd rather stop it before it gets there, but the fact that this has been publicly introduced on the forums and everything I fear that those who are "addicted" to this will start up their own network, spread the word, and then it's all downhill from there.
I am strongly opposed to any forms of gambling that deals with random chance as opposed to stakes that are decided by the outcome of wits or skill. Since the Sealed Sword thing is random, this could spawn the same gambling problem that occured on RuneScape, which resulted in Jagex enforcing a rule to thwart player-hosted gambling, followed up by a complete rework of most methods that caused a random outcome, much like the "flower games" did.

It may seem like a fun, innocent thing now but trust me, if it keeps going it's going to be bad.

@Remexe :

"P.S. This is 100% legal, and has no moral flaws..."

Are you sure that this 100% legal? Did you even have the permission from OOO to do this? And no moral flaws? Well, in-game, it might not have, but in real life it is really a bad, horrible, wasteful doing that can cause major problems for the doer. I just wanted to warn you, because you might get a ban for this...

@Shidara :

We have a huge amount of popular players interested! Some of these include: Remexe, Mister-Chilled, Kuger, Stelli, Feller, Even NJthug likes the idea! Also, To keep this game safe from scamming I recommend you only place bets on people in the Status Poker Guild;

If you want to join the Guild to be a dealer, just send an application to Remexe. :)

hmmmm...

I don't really think that customers would appreciate being called noobs (post #16). As for the legitimacy of this game, it would be really easy to just steal a person's crowns from them, and thus makes it flawed if a scammer joined your guild and became a dealer, but if other people trust them then you may as well. Also, I've never heard of any of those players, and listing yourself as popular seems kind of pompous. I'm sure you aren't, it just normally would leave that sort of impression. For all I know you may be a super popular player, but I don't really think that legitimacy and popularity have any relationship between each other. Anyway, as for the game, it sounds pretty creative and if it's restricted to crowns than I don't see what harm could possibly come from playing something like this. It isn't really smart, about 4/5 of the time you just lose money, but it could be fun every once in a while.

Just going to point this out.

The player betting has a 40% of landing on their color.

The dealer has a 60% chance of winning off the player.

To counter the dealers higher winning percentage, I incorporated a rule that allows a player to quadruple their wager if they land on their color twice.

Also, A noob is a new player to a game... It isn't an insult; Everyone was once a "noob" in Spiral Knights.

Regarding anyones thought of players scamming.

In regards to anyone skeptical about getting scammed; you should only be placing a bet with a dealer if they are apart of the Status-Poker Guild.

In order to get into the Status-Poker Guild, you must fill out a very good application that is approved by both me and Mister-Chilled, along with a vouch from a well known/active and trust worthy Spiral Knights player.

If anyone apart of my guild does in fact scam another individual, the player should file a complaint with one of the three GM’s of my Guild. These GM’s are the following people: Remexe, Mister-Chilled, and Status-Poker. After the complaint is reviewed and accepted I will reimburse any lost funds and remove/blacklist the scammer from my Guild as soon as possible.

I hope that clears up any negative thoughts.

Wow... thanks remexe... I didn't know that noob meant newby... now that I type that it really makes a lot of sense. Oh, I also agree with worknplay! Not the specifity of brimstones, but betting materials or ce is cool. Is that allowed, and if not, can it be?

Possibility of betting Items

Well, the only problem with betting materials/items is that the prices are not set at a constant value. The price of an item or material is constantly fluctuating, causing an alarming amount of different prices. With the prices varying from person to person, no one can be quite sure of what to expect after winning a round. This causes a huge amount of confusion between the bidder and the dealer, evidently resulting in an unhappy customer. CE on the other hand is used as a currency and is perfectly fine to use when placing a bet.

I advise all players who think that the word "noob" is not offensive to rethink the way they spell it. Newb, newbie, or rookie are much better alternatives to "noob", which has a lot of negative attitude attached to it. Remember that tone is difficult to convey through text, so words that can be said with different intentions should be avoided.

Liking it isn't the point, it's the principle that we don't agree with. If this didn't lead to bad things I would love to join in but I would make a massive hypocrite out of myself by doing so.

False.

The OP suggests that you use the exact same "dealer" method as done in lotteries and the like by trusting the dealer with the money until the game plays out. How your "game works" is irrelevant as you use the same exchange method by trusting it with the dealer, which Aphrodite stated is not allowed.

Please don't encourage spamming the GMs. Hyperion says that's what's the most irritating, when they have to handle multiple duplicate complaints that slows down workflow.

One thing to point out.

Why would I go through all the trouble of developing a one of a kind game just for the use of scamming? for one, that would get me banned; and doing such an ill-advized stunt like that is only going to get me shunned from the SK community. I put a good amount of time and effort into making such a great game, If you don't like it don't play it. There is literally no reason why you should dislike the game I created if everyone is happy and having a good time.
