Greetings. Right now, I have decided to read some suggestion threads, and realize that people need to add more "thought", "details" and "logic". This may not be a suggestion, but here is a way to make one.

Title: What is it about?

Forum procedures (Help from Hex)

*Use your logic. Say you want to make a thread about improving the forums format. In this case, look below and you will see "Drupal". Can drupal make better features for the forums here today? Maybe not today, but in the future. Nobody knows.

*Don't suggest things that were suggested alot of times - Threads like "Opening the core, houses, etc" are already suggested. First, you should go use the search bar function, or if it sucks and is not accurate, use google search by typing up "Spiral knights thread suggestions: (topic)". It will link related threads associated with your topic.

*Don't be lazy - Check some threads. If you see poor grammar, right away it is a bad description. Poor grammar like "ok plz ad homez we cud hav a biger ms tank ad gam wood bee easiyer!!! PLZZZ" <--- That isn't acceptable and you can except heavy criticism.

*If you see threads with good ideas, add some parts to your thread and REWORD IT! That way, people will understand you more and more.

*After finishing that, add very good formatting and organize it instead of doing it like:

k so plz can we hav nuew beats we culd hav a shucki fure ad oter u nam tem i ad it and cedit gos 2 meh motsley meh so plzzzz 1+ i beg u plzzz!"

What does that show? It shows careless grammar mistakes, no organization, showing him self as a noob, begging for people to like it, no details and shows that he only cares about his idea being liked without having a clue on what we can have it on. So no, that idea will take off lots of respect from you. He also shows that credit goes to him. If I could see that again in another thread, then I will get paranoid and rage. I really can't hold it.

*Receive criticism - Normally, people do that just so you can improve it more and have it implanted with the details. You can get lots of respect if you do a really good suggestion thread without any grammar errors, bad acting, etc...

*Congratulations. You have succeeded in making a good suggestion!
Description:

*Describe what it's about
*What it does
*The W5 (Who, what, when, where, why and how will it happen)
*If new enemies, maybe try adding pictures on how they would look like
*Try to be as specific as you can about what you are trying to suggest

Comments

What if they disagree? Don't just stand there and say "ok dud u win its jus tht u otsmuted me :(". Lets say you want to suggest new toy products like a gremlin plushy. Somebody says "Sorry dude, nobody buys toys. You fund them, not us. Loser!!". You should fight back with your own option. Like "But OOO can make money".

People will actually want them and agree with you

If you want to suggest something to add to the list, add them to the comments. Also, tell me if this belongs to Suggestions, General Discussion or Recruits.

Before you make your thread

What you're supposed to do when you come up with an idea:

1. Use the forum's search bar. If this reveals no similar ideas, go to 2. If you find a similar thread, go to 3.

2. If the forum search bar fails, use Google to search the Spiral Knight's forum. If you find a similar thread, go to 3.

3. If you find heaps of threads on exactly the same subject, go to 6.
If you find only a few threads, read through them. If general reception for the idea was bad, go to 7. If general reception was good, but not much attention was gained, go to 4.
If you find only a few threads, but they weren't filled out with as much detail as you want to come up with, go to 4.
If you find no threads whatsoever on the topic at hand, go to 5.

4. Before creating your thread, go through every thread with a similar topic, and compile all the good info from each of them. You will gain far more respect if your posts are full of information, thought out, formatted well, and are interesting. Post your thread. Do not bump it like mad, if the idea doesn't gain attention, it's probably not a very popular one. Go to 7.

5. Create your thread, making sure to format it well and make it neat, with as much information as you can come up with. Respect your posters, and don't get angry if your idea is critisized. Go to 7.

6. You should probably drop the idea, it's not original at all. Someone has probably created a thread with far more detail than you could come up with: if you find such a thread that has an enourmous amount of info, bump it while adding your new info. Make sure that it is the most filled out thread of its topic. If the topic is an old one (older than 2 or more months), make sure you add a good reason for necro-bumping it. Go to 7.

7. Congratulations, you have followed the correct procedure for bringing your ideas to the forums!

It has been updated. Also, thanks for the tips. You have received credit, except I decided to edit some parts. Is it fine with you?

One time I made a race thread, but it's old, and you have to run from a monster, and finish before others, so someone said it's PvE and called me an idiot (no names).

I just accepted it, but I could've said "Dude... you're RACING other players. That's like saying Lockdown is PvE, because there can be Rock Jellies in there."
,
This isn't on the Spiral Knights forums, but someone said I was pathetic for using correct English, and said it was sad that I was trying to be smart on a game.

I wasn't trying to be 'smart'. I was just speaking English. YOU LEARN FREAKIN' ENGLISH TO INCORPORATE IT INTO NOT ONLY WRITING, BUT IN TEXT!

I said I believed that you should use correct English, then this guy said "Using correct English online isn't a must, because we'd be total grammar Nazis if it was.", but he did speak in proper English.

This reminds me of that time, when someone called me a "show off", because he thought the terms I were using were too 'big', and said I was showing off intelligence.

*FACEPALM x100,000* So, speaking English is being a show off? If it really made you a show off, then synonyms wouldn't exist. I wish kids would stop acting like babies about grammar. These words wouldn't exist if they made you a show off.

I also think I'm a total dunce, so I can't try to show off.

Who moved this to new recruits? Suggestions advice should belong in suggestions, right?

No.

This isn't a suggestion, even just because I have the word "suggest". This is just some tips that new people should know and even those who have troubles making a suggestion. Otherwise, the suggestions will be a invaded, ruined place with horrible suggestions. That's why it was moved to New Recruits

But you don't read new recruits forums before you make a suggestion. Hopefully, at least, you read some of the suggestion forum.

Doesn't matter. We can link this thread every time a new player makes a cruddy suggestion and then cries when people give critisism that they can't handle.
