Like what's been said, can you stop whining?

Gee, this is WHY they weren't posting stuff before it releases. Have you ever considered that this might be an early picture? Have you considered that they still are adjusting it? While giving feedback on what you see is fine, I notice it's too much of "If it's X and not Y, I'll quit."

My explanation for what is seen in the image, is that it represents an overhaul/change to the underlying ui elements, as the HUD really is just the surface. The windows we spend time in, like the friends list, mail, auction house, player inventory, energy trade, these have all undergone some sort of change to match what we see in the image. How much of a change? We don't know. We can all agree that currently these windows do lag/stutter/freeze the game up on occasion, and a rework is welcome progress. Sure it may look different. Sometimes using different back-end mechanics limit what can be done visually, or vice versa. I'm the type that will gladly give up visual prowess for smooth performance.

I do agree a portrait of myself is flattering, make it bigger, can you make it glow?

I also agree that this alone will make doing a jelly king run feel less like the 400th time and more like the 78th time, it looks refreshing.

The most laggy thing will be the knight's picture...but we are always see the knight. He's in the middle of the screen.

It'll probably just be some changed images with new and more colors. This isn't laggy at all.

As awesome as the UI rework looks, I really hope the upcoming update we have been waiting for almost 2 months isn't made up of only this rework. Although it looks amazing it does't add any gameplay to the game and personally the novelty of this will wear off in a day or two on its own. I really hope this doesn't push back future updates such as much balancing (Chaos, Mad Bomber,etc), Dust Bunnies, Tot, Slug and importantly sprites. I really thing if we took a vote people would prefer the addition of content which adds more game play rather than dressing it up and making the graphics easier on the eyes.

This is a great UI. Some improvements you should do is to have an option to turn into the new UI or old UI. And for the player stats showing "Spiral Knight", make the other knights stats smaller. Nobody wants a screen filled with half of the players health

So basically what you're telling me is that instead of doing other interesting things in your room, you're instead going to stare into the white, blinding light and fall asleep or keep the lights off all the time, essentially sitting in the dark being unable to do anything.

In case I'm being too subtle, maybe you should focus your attention on something else; like the game itself for instance, rather than just staring at the UI all day. If this does not solve your issue then maybe you should reconsider why you're playing this game.

Hmm...

Well it's certainly different and there are definitely several things that I hope they change before pushing this update out, but it does look like there might be some improvements from the old UI. I'll have to wait until I actually use it before I can say whether I love it or hate it though.

At first glance I thought this was a joke. No, really.
After reading that it is not (a joke) and having a second look... I think it looks like some cheap pop-up ad from 2002.

... How is that even defend-able?

Even if this isn't the finished product and they are still changing around on things... When they suddenly reveal they will be messing around with the UI and then show us something like THAT? Sigh. I'm at lack of words.

At least have a way to revert it... Please.

I don't have to stare at the bulb to feel sleepy since every single object would reflect the light and look in dull colors. I may not sleep the 98% of the time or can't do anything interesting under white bulbs, but it would always annoy me. That's the point. The game will feel incomplete without the current UI. If they can make a better UI than this and the current -sure they can- then I would be fine with it.

I know that this is a work in progress, and I realize that it will probably change before release- I appreciate that the ringers are sharing updates and sneak peeks.

(Hopefully they won't keep limiting the cool stuff to social media, though)

This image does leave a lot of open questions, so I suspect there's more to the design- we still don't know how it handles parties, or what the chat interface will look like. As for additions? I can see the enemy health bar being great for bosses, but I'm not convinced it'll be useful for large mobs of enemies, where it may cycle through showing the health for several different enemies so fast as to just be confusing.

Probably been said, but...

The only thing I really dislike is the new Vial/Cap art changes. Unless they're changing the appearance of EVERY item in the game, it no longer matches the style. A style I quite liked. I'm kinda sad about that.

I'm also not crazy about the health bars. I'll live with it, they're completely functional, and I really have no right to complain. But. I feel they take away from games. They have no cannonical (is that a word?) reason for being there. Function, yes. Style? Eh. I like my barless games like Monster Hunter and Minecraft. Come to think of it... ALL my favorite games don't have Health Bars... Huh.

What I really want to see, though, is ZOOM. So as a gunner I can actually shoot downwards and see what I'm aiming at. That'd be kinda nice. Kinda.

Also...

Also the giant Knight portrait doesn't need to be quite so giant. Seems annoying and in the way.
Don't know how I forgot that.
