Ok folks, heres the deal. This is not to bash the UI, this is not to praise it, I honestly just wanted to say somethings in general about it.
It's human nature to not like change. Change in something that has been the same for years makes people angry. They may not even hate the thing changing, but damn it, it's a change! We don't like change!
I am currently dealing with this exact thing at work. My boss is moving to another location, we are all hating it. We all don't want him to go. When we get a new boss, we will hate it. Will we deal with it? Of course! Will we learn to adapt? Of course! The new boss will want to make some changes of their own we may not like, however we will learn to live with it if we want to keep working there.
Point is folks, till you are making your own game, you can't have it your way. Someone will want to make a change at some point. We will hate the change (not all of us, but some of us). We will all accept the change, or we won't. Yelling screaming, threatening to quit etc will NOT make the boss change their mind about moving to another location. It will NOT stop the new boss from implementing new policies or procedures. If you want to keep playing you adapt, if not, theres the door (or the X in your window).
I am not trying to sound like an ******* here, however if you want to change things, you need to do it diplomatically, just like you would a new boss. Here is what we don't like, here is how you could to do it better. Here is what you did right, thank you for that. Not just "this sucks" or "this is BS" since you don't have to be here. Just like I don't have to keep working for my company.
Now that I have said all that, here is my take on the new UI.
I have't played a lot since it was updated, however there are certain things I like, and just a handful I do not. I love the new mini map, thank you! I like the new HP (% left is going to save me from trying to rev someone when I don't have enough HP to do it as I am sure many have done). The only thing I don't like about it really is that I can't see my CR/CE all the time. I don't think this was done intentionally, I think it was an oversight, and those happen so I am sure it will be corrected in a later patch.
I was not in a party of 4, so idk how it will look with all the mini knights, but just a party of 2 was fine. The new vials are cool looking, no complaints, and seeing what I am attacking in the top is fine too, since I will be honest, I don't even notice it lol.
As I said, its just something different to get used to, did I click wrong to try to see what friends are on, sure, did it take me another 2 seconds to click the right button (part of the handful of things I don't like is that I can't be on auto pilot lol), sure, is that the end of the world? Nope! So give it a chance, take a deep breath, and be respectful about this, be diplomatic. It's just a game, and its just change.
Thanks for reading, I hope this creates a calm diplomatic conversation.
Well change, yes, but something people hate even more is when you take something away from them. Doesn't matter what it is, doesn't matter what the substitute is, people WILL ALWAYS COMPLAIN ABOUT THINGS BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM. Same thing happens here. Same thing would have happened if the new and old UI would have been swapped.
