While this new UI update wouldn't necessarily drive me to quit SK altogether, I'm still adjusting to it little by little.
Probably more than anything, it would be wise to allow a choice between the "classic" (former) and "modern" (current) UIs so players aren't forced to adjust to the less-favorable option.
Personally, I would like things similar to before:
~ Health and (sure) shield bars at the bottom. Make the shield bar shorter maybe.
~ Vials and equipped Vitapod on top.
~ Crowns and energy amounts at their old positions without having to open inventory (so we know when an energy purchase via a blinking amount).
~ Allow an option for less or no flashy/shakey features. It's cool and all, but it can get distracting and laggy.
~ Keep the condense-able menu buttons that were on top before in their positions right now. That's one of the good ideas made with the new UI. Although, the party invite indicator should be more noticeable.

I completely agree. Personally the screenshake has been the worst for me while doing LD, as it dramatically lowers FPS.
Bulby's suggestion I believe is a completely reasonable one, and will prevent a LOT of rage.
