In my opinion, this would solve a large portion of the complaints about the game. Pretty much, there would be an option to return the game to it's original state. This would turn the AI, weapons, and UI back to the way they were, without removing things like the missions or PvP.

someone totally missed the point...

I said for it to be a toggle, not a complete shift, and I also said it wouldn't just affect the GUI .

But still there the problem of "King of Ashes" mission being the most profitable and nobody will play the "Classic" mode because "Modern" mode with "king of Ashes" mission still give you more crowns than go to arcade and do a run on it. So this pretty much its useless because it dont solves the problem with mission giving more crowns than arcade, while arcade gather dust and die because its less profitable.

Classic mode will still have missions

What you're talking about is an easy problem to fix: make standard levels longer and contain more monsters to the point of having the same payout as, say, a FSC level. Also, the gimmicks (like Roarmulus rockets) don't need be limited to boss levels. Why not have Lichenous Lairs conttain various slime types to manipulate, or your standard clockworks level containing switches which change the enviornment?

How would you switch between modes? And actually, why would you ever play the old mode? The current version lets you progress through the game so much faster. If you add missions into the "classic" mode, that kind of ruins the point of it anyway. Besides, this seems like the "easy way out". I would much rather OOO find a way to incorporate old features back in to improve the game as a whole, instead of going back to a modified old version and effectively splitting the community in half. I don't think the game would survive.

Are you serious?

Read the title,

Petition: Add the option to toggle between the classic GUI and the new one.

As for it affecting things other than the GUI you're right but it doesn't justify making another thread.

@Noklip: when you enter a

@Noklip: when you enter a dungeon or lockdown, it will ask whether you want Modern or Classic, and give you appropriate floors (or games). As for the GUI, that can be changed from a simple menu toggle. I believe this solves your worries about splitting the community, as they can still interact with each other in non-combat zones, even if certain players stick exclusively to one mode. as for including missions "ruining the point", players will still want to grind FSC easily, even if just for tokens

@ Unstable: yes, you're totally right, only the cosmetic things matter, actual gameplay should be ignored.

For this to work we'd have to split the community, new servers.
Someone in classic mode obviously wouldn't be compatible with modern players.

OOO isn't exactly a big game to do that.

Yes, but do you understand what I mean?

Paticulary in LD, there won't be enough players per tier per "mode" to start matches - TO PLAY IT.
It divides an alreardy small community and it's not only about interacting in Haven.

The problem is that we think it's not enough of an improvement to outweigh the negatives. Plus, as I said before, it's too much wasted development time. They should just incorporate old stuff in a way that makes sense, like rebuff the enemies or put back tortodrones. With the amount of time stuff's been gone, it'd basically be the same as adding new content.

You haven't posted (looks carefully at Noklip's name) ...yet. Anyways, I see your point, but I still believe my idea is EDIT: a good fix despite the development time.
