Snarbolax is used to be a monster roaming around the Clockworks, looking for any knights he can eliminate. But it's just one night, he realized the night's cold and was alone, so he came sadly into a house hoping for a warm-hearted knight to give him the spirit of Christmas.^^
And if it was me... I would welcome him to my shelter and let him join in our dinner! (In SK world) And I'll make sure he will sleep just beside me. =3
For, Christmas is a reminder of Love,
That Jesus our saviour was sent from above. ^^
A season of giving blessings and Joy to each other.
And grace and hope are floating in the air.

:D Can't wait for another Christmas yet to come!

Sorry about the long wait on this guys. I do not have a valid excuse.

Here's our game/contest lineup for the time being:

This Week

Game: Find the word again! - This time, the words can be going in any direction.

Contest 1: It was a dark and stormy night - Write a story under 100 words about your knight's first day in the Clockworks.

Contest 2: Hey baby, wanna see my weekly contest? - Submit an SK-related pickup line ... if Tev were single, would she think you and your pickup line were hot stuff, or would she laugh? Either one is fine, but remember to keep it PG-13, peepcakes!

Last Week

Or weeks, rather. I'm a terrible hostess. D:

Game: Pretend I'm loaded out with a Troika, a Polaris, an Acheron, and a Dark Retribution and am wearing two Penta-Heart pendants. I'm protected by a Grey Owlite Shield, a Miracle Hood, and Dragon Scale Mail, but am wearing full Valkyrie as a costume. If I crafted everything I'm equipped with using materials only acquired by spending tokens, what tokens did I use and how many? Unfortunately, I accidentally saved over the file with the answer in it and some of the recipes are different after the update, so I can't include the answer. Fortunately, I can give prizes to the only two people who entered: Remiliaoftheearth gets 10k for being the first, and Pballs gets 5k for being the second

Contest: "What was that, again?" 2: the sequel - Caption this new image. If Sol laughs at it, it's probably just awful enough to win. Because Sol is just awful. Skye-Lightning and Narfle both had the same idea but worded it in different ways, and I liked them both, so 10k to Skye for being fist and 5k to Narfle for being punny about it

Mini Contest 1 entry coming right up! :) I'll probably edit this post with it if no one else posts before then. :3

And here it is...

The day dawned, I made my way to the Rescue Camp, fighting jellies and chromalisks. Then, without pause to rest, I ventured into the Abandoned Depot and dodged gun puppies. It was afternoon when I made my way cautiously across the chasm to Haven, running into spikes at every turn.
Not even then was I allowed to catch my breath, delving deep into tier 1 until I came to a gloomy woods late in the evening. My shield up, as I remained as far away from the shadowy Snarbolax as I could, my first day in the Clockworks ended.

Not the best, but eh.

I'll probably do the word search at some point. :>

I typed some literature to go with the description of the picture. This can also be viewed in deviantart.

Description:
Run little tundralisk run.

Evade the grim jaws of the albino snarbolax or unto it's belly.

It had always been survival of the fittest.

Sprinting through the snow, you shall either live another day- or die right on the spot ; little tundralisk, your time will eventually be up and death will take your soul.

When your clock of life comes to a halt, your carcass will be on the ground, letting wolvers feed off of your deceased mortal shape.

Your soul will eventually, be one with the blowing wind.

artist's note: At first, i wasn't sure if it was too bright with the erasing. I started out with the harder things like the ablino snaroblax and tundralisk and worked my way down to the easier things. like the sky and the snow. It's usually easier to start with the easier things and work your way up to the harder things. At the end, i'm happy with the result.

Ooh, Tev's big contest is back!

I have some questions; first of all, for the Spiral Spy scenes category, can I create a few different "scenes" in spiral spy and then stitch them together with say Photoshop into one cohesive image? Not like some sort of cut and paste of small parts, characters, and objects, more like a collage.

Second, how much editing can I do to the Spiral Spy assets? Can I retexture things as long as they still look like they belong in Spiral Knights?

Finally, how much touching up can I do in an outside program? Would things like color correction be acceptable?

As long as I can see the work you did in SpiralSpy itself, it's fine. So if you want to edit the assets themselves, knock yourself out, and if you want to put more than one image in your image (if that makes sense), that's fine too.

As far as outside edits go, color correction is fine. Pretty much as long as you're not applying a bunch of filters so that it doesn't look like SS anymore or painting over it chunks of it (things like speech bubbles, emotes, and speed/motion lines are alright), then it should be okay.

Yes, I got it, thanks.

And I dunno ... I generally draw them with brows, but you could just as easily draw them with just the shadow from the brow bone or markings around their eyes (generally hidden by goggles) that are just as expressive as brows.

EDIT: It occurs to me that my characters (particularly Kotir, T'Keva, and Bettit) express with their brows pretty frequently in my writing, so in my canon, they MUST have them. XD

It was a bright and sunny day. Despite a rather aweful crash landing (telling by the wreckage), I remain unharmed. It seems that I've landed upon a beautiful planet with no other signs of life. How long must I wait here alo...oh look at this adorable lizard. He looks like he's going to lick...OW! Since when does a little tongue hurt? Unfortunately the pod could only hold my worst sword. *picks up proto sword* Awwe I can't hurt this...OWW!!! *fwanggg* *lizard dies*...Ooo a lizard that drops money and powers my weapon...this'll be fun...*evil face*

Contest 1: It was a dark and stormy night...

Witnessing the Glorious Snarbolax

I was walking down the inclined land of the Gloaming Wildwoods, kicking the dust beneath my feet. My two swords, a Calibur and Brandish, shone in the small ray of sunlight piercing a small hole between two trees. I walked further, only to hear a small rustling behind the bushes and a pair of paralyzing red eyes staring at me. I suddenly stiffened inside my Wolver Coat, a sign that I should take care. I reached a larger area, a brass bell in the middle. The gates behind me closed. Rumblings occurred, a black-furred beast rose from the ground.

It's only a small story :P Although it could begin a nice chapter in a book, huh?

Hey, I'll try to make a Scene!

Hey, I'll try to make a SS scene lightning-fast! Just one question, would "poison" count as a season? I figured since you said seasons could be something along the lines of seasonal events or something we haven't seen before, I could use a status effect to represent a fictional season.

Also, would recolorations of existing textures, saved as separate textures from the originals, count as something against the ToS? I'm sure the answer to that is going to be yes, but I wanted to make sure.

@Hexlash: Depends on how fast you write, I suppose.

@Manibogi: Ummm ... not sure about that one. If you can make a good case for your season, go for it, but if you're just going off of "poison" and hoping to make something up later, it's probably not going to fly. And you can go ahead and use recolored textures in your SpiralSpy scenes.
