Intro:

Hello there, dear forum readers.
I questioned myself recently on if i should use my money to buy some crystal energy over this game, spiral knights. This game recently brought me a good impression. I remember back, when the game started i played for 2 days and left. now that iam back i started to quite enjoy the market and the auction. But... one thing happen earlier today. A friend who sold me a few stacks of crystal energy told me he tends to quit this game. why reasons are stated bellow here.

Conversation starts from here:

Anonymous: Unfortunately i am the leader of my guild.
VoidHunter: a okay.. thats unfortunate
Anonymous: And we stopped playing SK in...2 years?
VoidHunter: you started 2 years ago?
Anonymous: Stopped 2 years or so ago.
VoidHunter: i stopped at 2011 and joined back ...
Anonymous: I'm a veteran player, we didn't like the direction 3 rings took SK.
VoidHunter: hmm... may i hear what direction did they take it to?
VoidHunter: or what kind of direction you didn't like.
Anonymous: Implementing useless social networkings and enviromental graphics for one.
VoidHunter: hmm you have a point.
VoidHunter: maybe i long forgotten that 2 years ago.
Anonymous: Game runs smoothly when it's solo play...group play it begins to lag terribly the more people in a group. This holds true even for solid rigs.
Anonymous: We spoke out in the forums how we felt about the changes that were made long ago.
Anonymous: Noone listens.
Anonymous: Instead of working on a way of making smoother gameplay they just kept adding more tasteless features.
Anonymous: So at first we stop buying CE from their store...then we just stopped playing altogether. Now i just craft.
VoidHunter: m interesting.
VoidHunter: i can't judge the lag during party cause i never did solo.
VoidHunter: and yes i did experience majour lag earlier.
VoidHunter: but it maybe the wifi iam using right now.
VoidHunter: ill try it out some day soon.
VoidHunter: thank you for all your opinions

Well I hope you read the conversation of this friend of mine. now there is no offense to the company or anything about this game. To remind you, this is an opinion and his own experience of this game. If you like to agree to this opinion or comment over this topic please do. and let me know your opinions too. With this Spiral Knights can change into a better game, with better standards.

Just placing the curious...

Well, that seems true. I also have experience lag in the game during party games. even if I have a strong wifi, but does the admin or the game master ever check these cases and tried to solve it? looking at the conversation. it seems your friend have tried to post suggestions to make things better but without avail. I hope I can just push this topic up a little cause this is what the Spiral Knights should see and read, this goes with the same to the game master and admins. I didn't play much but observing the game I don't see much things that interest me maybe. "tasteless features" I guess your friend is right.

I honestly miss the classics, but I don't want to leave just yet.

I guess I'm confused as to what the suggestion is. So your friend quit two years ago, which would be when the game was either in beta or just coming out of beta, because he lagged when he played in a group? Or because he didn't like the direction the game was going... two years ago?

About that.

I'm about to leave too.
But now listen to my reasons:
To my opinion if OOO don't listen to players, they are just adding what they want.
Many people want fixes to weapon and rebalancing enemies and armors, many other asks for an improved LD.
Meanwhile they are programming something that no one feels the needs to (ex. shield bash and dash) they can be good things (mini monsters) and i give them credit for that but i feel like they can do that only when there's nothing more to fix.

Atholl...I there's one thing I've learned about SK over the years, OOO never
listens, but when they update...holiday cheer for all.

OOO and Sega are probably busy with the new content like the new battle sprites, new missions, shield bash, etc...

Yes they are busy on new battle sprites, example: as what you said new missions and shield bash, etc... but having these features won't help fixing the bugs in the game. You don't want to play a game with lags or other glitches do you?

Erm. With nearly every content update, there's bugfixes alongside it...

Yes,

But it would be nice if they fixed all the bugs and mechanical/balance problems instead of glossing over them and just releasing more stuff.
