Can I get some clarification on this? I mean the rules do say "do not Re-create threads that have been Graveyarded, locked, or unpublished." So if a thread has not been through any one of these actions, is there a reason to say necro?

subtle

This is a subtle question of culture, that has been asked already, for example here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/65621.

Whether a necro is viewed positively or negatively has a lot to do with the content of the necro. For example, if you necro an old thread, but explain why you're necro-ing, and then make a really insightful post that contributes substantially to that discussion, then no one will be upset. On the other hand, if you necro an old thread to make a snarky remark to a poster that probably left the game months ago, then you're viewed as a troll. In practice, necros tend to be more like the latter example than the former example, so people dislike them.

Necro exactly means:

Necro exactly means: "commenting threads that have been dead"

Necromancy is the crime of bringing up dead threads, a crime of which has been in the past and up until now.

GMs do lock old threads, meaning they don't like it either, even if rules aren't explicit about it.
Go ask Clotho. She made a big cleanup on spanish forums.
