Oh, i don't know... maybe EVERY POSSIBLE COMMENT YOU HAVE POSTED ON THIS THREAD?
I am beggining to hate this game more and more by the hour, is it just me?
Would you kindly give me an example and then explain it?
Freaking computer, won't load...
AH!
"First of all, SANE people play video-games for entertainment , NOT life lessons."
>>>While this not might be ungrateful to you, it IS ungrateful to me. People were obviously trying to put you on the right track by directing you to the wiki! That's why it's freaking there. What, it's just for show?
"You are talking as if things were **this** simple,1. I'm only tier 1 and 2. I don't even know what the jelly king is. Read before you post please."
>>>Again, it is ungrateful to me. It's to support the above, and T1 IS FREAKING simple! Tier 2's slightly little harder, you'll die here and then, but not too often!
"Just because I'm new to the game doesn't me I don't have a initiative to do anything myself, unlike you I have a life and I don't spend every second of my day researching the bosses of a videogame."
>>>Supporting detail. One, researching the bosses of a videogame will help you, aside a few things. Two, why did you have to say, "Unlike you, I have a life", what, you do? Then freaking grind for the energy you deserve!
"LEARN TO READ! If you knew how to read then you would have read my comments above and you would knew that I'm NOT ungrateful or all the other things you said for the advice and the help others have given me, but apparently you can't."
>>>Yes, I know how to read. I read the comments above. But I know you ARE ungrateful since you never even thanked the people who had done a load of research into this game, waaaaaay before you came in, and given you the information you need, not to mention they hadn't sent you to the wiki, so you research for yourself, but instead, they spoon-fed you the information!
The comments on yours are subject to personal opinion, if it's unreasonable, fine, I don't blame you for not understanding what you've brought to yourself.
@Hex
You know, the least you could do is support the ones who actually helped. (No sarcasm)(Not demanding, just suggestive...)
The only thing right about your comment is that I didn't thanked the ones who actually helped me, and you are right, but I didn't thanked them because I was ungrateful but because I forgot, I am, however, still grateful to them for helping me
1. Life lessons, in case you didn't notice most people suggested to just suck it up and be patient, THATS what I mean by life lessons, I was referring to them, not the ones helping me by pointing me to the wiki.
2. T1 might be simple to you, but not everyone else, to me it was difficult, so you are wrong, just because something is easy to you, it isn't for anyone else.
3. I didn't quite understood what you mean here, sorry.
4. I mentioned that in the intro. Also, I never asked to be spoon-fed the information nor did told anyone to go search it for me.
The only thing you actually go right is in the intro of the comment.
You've seen a lot of rage?
quote:"
1. LEARN TO READ! If you knew how to read then you would have read my comments above and you would knew that I'm NOT ungrateful or all the other things you said for the advice and the help others have given me, but apparently you can't.
2. Do you actually like the current energy system? And if you do now, you did even when you were tier 1 or 2?"
From what I read, you are complaining about the energy system and how you need to pay to play. Your conclusion goes "The game isn't free, it's a demo because you can't play AS MUCH AS YOU WANT FOR FREE unless you payr(sic)" in the first post.
You have the money, but not the permission to spend it. Therefore I conclude, you can't pay. Simple as that. Because you can't pay, you are a free-to-play player, and these kind souls have been trying to give advice and suggestions to how to play as a f2p, and reasons to why there is ever such an energy system. Don't be a hypocrite.
You learn the ugly truth about how you share the energy with your brother, indeed it is an anti-exploit system, and there is no way around it unless you have another computer, or at least another IP address. Here's my suggestion. Get 1 steam client and 1 web client, and you should be able to have separate mist tanks.
About the current energy system... there was some post...here True it can be slow, but people have made it...
I just remembered something; does your brother have an individual Steam account? He can play on SK on one account with his own separate energy pool while you keep yours to yourself. A bit long winded to be honest, but it'd work in both of your favours in the long run. On the flipside, one of you will have to start from scratch.
Okay, I'm all drained of rage so I'll answer some of it.
1) But, being patient's one of the virtues you need to progress through this game if you're a free-to-play player!
2) Alright, I understand. Wait... what part of Tier 1 do you mean? The Snarbolax Part? Like I said, my comments are only subject to personal opinion.
3) It actually supports everything else. I understand if you don't understand, like when the Snarbolax Part of T1, is hard for you, yes you just have to suck it up. It's life. You don't progress with magic. Sometimes, you just have to dig deep, so you can proceed, know what's coming right in front of you before you charge, so you won't have any problem. You progress by learning from the mistakes you make.
4) T'is called freely helping. Yes you never asked, but instead they did it for you. You should thank people for that, despite wanting the opposite of what they did.
By the way, what is your actual topic about? Asking if people like the current energy system? If so, why didn't you just write it out immediately in the OP, we just had to resort into this heated battle?
You didn't have to pay in the first place; it was a choice, it wasn't mandatory.
Now, if we're finished here, I'm sorry I raged at you.
Yes, he became unreasonable at some point, but try to twist the dimensions and counter the statement.
You are right, I'm sorry, I was in fact ungrateful and behaved stupidly, can we finish this and lock the stupid thread now please? I just realized, defending myself on a forum from being stupid and immature makes me even stupider and even more immature.
See guys?
Now let's graveyard this.
Ellthan, you see the tabs on the top of your thread? Click edit.
Then, click the drop-down menu and click on graveyard.
That's how you lock the thread, without anyone else trying to revive it again. Or just wait till Eury arrives and locks this by herself XD
Ungrateful? Then is comment #42? (Among a few others)
The majority of his comments weren't negative, but when people repeatedly say the same thing over and over again without answering his question, and he gets frustrated, and then people pick on his frustrated posts.
Same thing with the commenters. Over half the ones here are fine and are actually contributing, but then there are a bunch of ragin' contagions who just think of the OP as a whiner, and combat that with whining of their own. Somehow I'm expected to believe that's proper internetiquette.
@Skye-Lightning
You know, the least you could do is support the ones who actually helped. (No sarcasm)(Not demanding, just suggestive...)
I did mention that the OP is thanking the people who are actually contributing, and I did contribute to the thread before I started my blunt analysis.
I'm just a little less positive than I normally am when I see people acting like this.
I hope the OP has learned what he wanted to. Graveyard is a safe bet now.
Sorry for being quite outraged. I'm not in such a good mood right now :/
To seperate the energy, get a paid account, or a steam account. steam accounts don't share energy with normal ones. neither do paid accounts.
anyways if you want help in a run, I could always hop in and murder things for you. Add me ==> Redblades
Not everyone wants the game spoiled for them by searching bosses and other info on the Wiki. I'm not defending anyone but just putting that out there. Some people actually play games to have a challenge.. not everything spoonfed to them. It is like cheating when you research a boss before even fighting it.
I'm just glad that everyone has come to their senses. Also, since you have reached haven, you or the other account, must have received a mist tank. It's in the mail. The mist tank refills the mist back to 100.However, you can only use it once. For me, I would use it on crafting, so when making a weapon/armor/helmet/shield that is 3 star and up, the cost will be 100 less ce.But this won't work quite as well, because of the two accounts that share mist. Or you can use it, to play for a longer time. The choice is your.
.
You insulted other players for not helping you?
"What you are saying is immature and stupid"
That person was trying to help you. Care to explain how he was immature / stupid by helping?
@ HEx
Good to know.
@ Skyguarder(Almost spelled Sky as Skye XDDDD)
Thread's closed, hoping Eury will lock it herself...
Does this, look like a helpful tip of advice to you?
''what you're saying is you don't want to spend money on this game but you want to progress but before you're parents told you not to spend money on this game you were all for spending money on this game?!''
How did he even reached that conclusion?, and did you really thought THIS was a helpful tip?
Also, point to the comment, where I insult someone who helped actually helped me.
T1 run isn't bad. I got 5k cr after done that with 100 mist (2 times run.) no rev
I have bro too but he play SK in his computer.
I never spent real money in this game too(F2P)
Now I'm T.3 with 4* gear
Hey why you no should do 1 depth then switch to your brother at 2nd depth and keep switch until run out of mist. U can have fun together.
ps. srry for bad gramma.
Translating Gvdtok's advice;
Hey, why don't you do depth 1 then switch into your brother's account, having two accounts on at the sametime, switch until you each run out of mist."
That's exploitable, you know, Ellthan.
Having two accounts on, both of you will carry 100 mist.
Anyways...
Oh wait, I don't have anything else to say...
Going alone early in the game may prove too hard in the later levels, I recommend trying to get in a good guild and friends. Also, go to the Advanced Training Hall to find good players and watch them for a bit, you may learn something in combat that is very important.
Since your T2 and Have not defeated the Royal Jelly, Try grinding Snarby with a team to get tokens and cr. Then get the Shield and toothpick if you want to use a sword. if not, you can sell it to a stranger with a icon with it. I also recommend paying attention to the gate levels in the clockworks (arcade).
Im Guessing you have a TF2 account, use it to sell metal for around 300CE per refined. (if your given a gift to premium and used it) (if you have any salvage crates, and have access to the steam community market,) Sell it for around $10-13. then use $6 for a Elevator Pass, and the rest for buying CE. even though you are paying, the crates still count as F2P.
in 4 MMORPG that played.... SK is the one i like cuz there's a lot of kind people here....
SK is the 4th MMO i played...
You have an unrealistic expectation that everything should be set up so that you may have a service at any time. This is very rarely the case, Free to Play does not literally mean everything in the game is free, and it certainly does not mean that upon downloading you should be given unlimited access to the game. People put work into this game, people put money into making this game, and you are belittling the efforts and spent resources of those people. Your ability to play the game is limited for a reason, the developers want to allow people to play for free, but they also want to incentivize in-game purchases. Once you get to mission set 5-2 (Jelly King is in this set) you can play without limit by purchasing energy with crowns, but if you want to get there you have to be resourceful (Ask a friend for help, buy energy, minmax your mist use, etc.).
What you are displaying is a behavior called entitlement, and it's not uncommon for games like this to receive these types of complaints.
I'd like to share a tale. Like you, OP, I don't enjoy paying for games but have the means to easily, if I wanted to. I enjoy playing SK because it is F2P, but nothing automatically makes you need money.
Energy is used as a means to limit your progress per sitting, and I view it as a cruel necessity to not just curb stomp the game via grinding, and even most grind methods have penalties that make them near impossible to maximize on a regular basis. So? They make you need more energy. More than 100.
Congrats, upon needing to do anything with > 100 energy you need to purchase CE, but here's the beautiful part: You don't need to pay IRL money for premium currency. OOO makes players who want to go from RL money to in-game money have to go through an extra step: finding a player buyer.
CE is currently very cheap and exploitable in the current market, just over 6600 CR mark for 100. Though grinding with mist to make crown profit is better than grinding with CE for profit ratio, you can still grind like mad using CE as fuel and even make > 30K CR a day doing it. Case in point: myself.
CE is required for many in game things directly and many in-game things for practicality, but you don't need to pay money for it. Paying IRL money makes things a hell of a lot easier, sure but that's how OOO is supposed to make money, which is necessary for development, keeping the servers running, and generally maintaining certain aspects of business.
All F2P games flourish from micro-transactions, such is life. OOO actually takes the coolest god dang F2P approach I've ever seen: 0 restrictions.
Concerning the subject: I'm not that far into the game yet.
I'll have to wait and see about that "no restrictions" part claimed by Whitechocolatechip, or whether buying energy through ingame money is viable (it's possible in many F2P games, and always prohibitively expensive for obvious reasons -- at some point someone had to spend real money to get that currency).
However, being a consistent "free player" in F2P games, I *do* expect restrictions. Whether or not 'energy' is a restriction remains to be seen; I just played one mission (-20 energy), decided to not open the "costs 3 energy to open" gates on the first level, but decided to try the one on the second, so I ended the mission with 80 energy left, and luckily it does recharge even when offline. Like, for example, right now. Still, assuming that my current missions are all 2-level ones, I could play 5 of them in one go, and even open a few of these gates... doesn't sound all that bad.
It will probably be more of a limit if/when I try to craft stuff, but for now I've merely swapped the gun for another one that I got, and even using the starter sword (although I actually don't use it much anymore) since everything else seems to be geared towards specific opponents. So I don't know yet how much gear affects your ability to progress, and if I have to craft something -- well, then I'll craft it and not play afterwards, simple as that.
All in all, compared to modern MMO"RP"Gs, Spiral Knights seems pretty decent. For now, I was able to do everything solo -- although I don't think I've encountered an actual boss yet -- which is something that MMO"RP"Gs seem to discard more and more. But then again, I guess I should be waiting for the first boss to see how that works out :-)
Much to my surprise, I've not yet hit any form of inventory limit (except for the 4 special items that you can use on a mission, and it seems health pills don't stack...), as I've not yet sold anything and I can still get new stuff. So maybe they even tried to not force players to make mules.
The controls could use some work, but that's about it. I've recently purchased a gamepad so naturally I tried that, but you can't really aim with that. I'm now running with a mouse/keyboard combo, but I always have to remember to not aim my gun directly at an opponent because it will miss; instead I have to aim slightly higher which I usually don't remember and/or don't get right until another 3 or 6 shots got wasted. But, the perfect game hasn't been developed yet, so who cares.
I've made an alternate account and began from the beginning of the game and got to T3 in 5 hours, it wasn't that difficult really. They begin giving you energy tanks so you can keep on playing and I've reached RJK within those first 5 hours. I'm not sure what troubles you are having because the first part of the game is easier than understanding Checkers. As everyone else has said, I would recommend making an alternate account with Steam so you both can have a separate energy tank.
We both use steam and computer wouldn't let us create a new account, but it's ok now, we bought a new laptop and thanks to the CE Neodasus gave me I have now reached tier 3 with 4 star gear. THANKS NEODASUS XD
Soooo... can we just let this thread die already?
Info on how to set up multiple accounts: Contributed.
Moral lessons: Passed on.
Advice on playing the market and crafting: Check.
Posts scolding the OP for whining/ungratefulness/impatience/etc.: Point's been hammered home pretty well.
I think we're done here, gentlemen. Let the OP graveyard the thread and go to sleep. Perhaps I'm just sick of seeing this topic still on the first page when there are bigger, better things more deserving to rage about. That, or can we get a GM to lock this thread? I don't think there is anything useful left to be discussed here.
See guise?
He even surpassed my other account :3
Good job, ellthan! Proud of you!
First of all you shouldn't play that long everyday...How old are you? Don't you have better things to do? I can tell you that I play 2 hours a week so I am not an addicted nerd like you...Second of all you dont spend your whole day waiting you sleep dont you??...
It's not your job to tell him what he can and can't do, or your place to judge what is better or worse he could be doing.
Dear Hexzyle
Why do you not see the light. Lux E Tenebris!
You are Tenebris
I am Lux
@Etendue
Hey Steven
Dont listen to this man because you are the life of the thread
I hate this forum...it doesn't alert me notifications...and also people cant get banned for being off topic...Man OOO should really improve the forum system.
We could discuss how we love this game. And pancakes.
just make your brother his own account that way you only have to wait 22 hours instead of 44 hours. I am a vanguard and i have not spent a cent on the game all you have to do is farm boss levels until you can level up. As for the 100 mist you get everyday after you run out just get off and play another game like minecraft.
I may be a nerd but I'm not illiterate like you, I have said more that 3 time in the post:
!!!If you post is just a troll please don't post it.!!!
But obviously your are too illiterate and too ''cool'' not to know how to read but to know to call others ''addicted nerds'' I feel sorry for you.Relly.
I dont drink Kool Aid and also I do not think you are a nerd...These days the gaming standard time has gotten higher.
I dont think you are bad but I support Etendue
(I know him in real life and he hates me lol)
I would have graveyarded the post some time ago, but a lot of people still find it interesting to read and post their opinions here, hence it is in the 1st-2nd page every time you look. What I want to say is that it isn't really dead yet. Once it hits 4th-5th page then I assure you, It will rest in peace.
i'm going to share a simple trick for you to play as much as you want
1) play SK
2) earn crowns (by doing step 1)
3) trade crown for CE
3a) trade CE (or skip step 3) for TF2 keys (i don't care if you don't play/have TF2)
4) sell key's on steam-market (think 3 keys should do the trick)
5) buy elevatorpass with fresh filled steam wallet
6) ????
7) profit
8) start at step 1 again (with elevator pass)
now, was that wasn't SO hard to figure out was it :) (ok now a lot of people are dropping of their chair because they didn't know how to make money using the steam-market)
People seriously trade real money for TF2 keys?!?!?!?!??!
When you can simply buy them from the store!?!?!?!?!?!?
People resell them on the market for less than the store :/
It is like 2.49 from the store and maybe 2.20 on the market per key
It's not trading real money... it's trading lots of effort and time. You can get CE for free.
LOL. C'mon guys at least watch the video I linked XDDDDDDDD
There is no fun allowed. Or ponies. The combination of the two will result in the offender being indicted and tracked down, then executed in the closest town square. I will save us all from the dangers of fun and children cartoons.
Would you kindly point me to the comment, that you thought was ungrateful? You constantly mention that I am ungrateful, but all I have been saying all along is that people need to read my previous comments before commenting on my current ones, did YOU read my previous comments before you reached a conclusion?
