I don't know. That was part of my confusion. Well, just keep moving forward I guess.
Through the first five pages of this thread, the top contributor was Thowardz with 49 total posts (46 counted numbers).
I have no idea... It would be interesting to know the answer.
Through the first eight pages, 62 different accounts posted in this thread either to count or troll.
Wooo...I get to go do Behind the Wheel from 7:00-8:30 (I'm a morning person anyway)....then get to go take a practice ACT while headed up to UVA. :U
I have been trying to record everything that has occurred in this thread. It is not going well; it is a complete pain in the butt.
Zeke, I discovered your first post was #440, which is way before the cupcake eating contest.
I stated my first post was that over a thousand posts ago...or so.
But that was when I just randomly was posting every 300. Now I am committed.
Oh, I do not remember that/have not encountered that post yet.
You'll run into it eventually after compiling a list of all those posts!
Hopefully.I am stuck on page 13. I should have a total of 650 posts, but I am coming up with like 646 or something :/
Not bad.
I am trying to find the spot when I joined and stayed consistently. Around 2,000 or so...
Edit: 2,020 seems to be it. Before that I posted ~100+ posts
You know, those things where you try to predict the results of the men's NCAA basketball tournament.
Oh... basketball isn't really too big a thing over here, so no. D'you place money on them then?
You could, but that is pretty much illegal throughout most of the USA. I have only participated in free contests.
Do you not even win a prize or anything if you guess correctly? :(
It depends. There was one bracket contest that I heard about where the prize was $1 billion if you correctly predicted the whole tournament. A lot of office pools will have a small entry fee and whoever scores the most points will take home the pot.
Last year I participated in a school bracket, and there were no prizes. This year I tried hosting a bracket challenge for my Spiral Knights guild with some prizes for the top finishers, but no one entered... :[
I decided to do a little research about the legality of NCAA brackets. Here are two articles about it if anyone is interested.
Wait, if everyone pays to enter and the winner gets the pot - isn't that the same as gambling?
Yep. Since sports betting is illegal in most states, brackets would be illegal. However, authorities rarely go after anyone for running or participsting in bracket contests. It is one of those things that gets largely overlooked and is pretty much allowed a pass by the law.
Eh I'm more into soccer/football, but even then, I don't keep track. I just watch a game whenever I am in the mood.
Not a sports fan, so I don't do brackets or even watch that many games.
Hmm, okay. To each his (or her) own :D
My bracket has not done that well, but I should do better than last year :]
Why, what place did your team the other year finish? Last?
Last year I was rooting for Gonzaga, and I went with the homer pick and had Gonzaga winning the whole thing. And then they lost in the second round...
I made one this year, have Wisconsin winning it all (cause why not?). I follow VCU, and like UVA too, being a Virginian. I don't consistently watch sports though.
I have a friend who was in the top 99.9% yesterday, 99.6% today.
99%....That's pretty good. I have Florida winning, but there are plenty of good teams, so I don't know.
That sounds right. As long as there are not too many double posts, we should be good.
Of course there are some skipped numbers we need to count still...
