Unfortunately, I don't know how to make shiny stuff...if I made a perma energy indicator, it would be the old style one. However, chances are that if I'm going to get the okay from the developers, I'm going to have to leave that part alone. I'll still try, though...
Also, I can't remove the part with the epic dashing. I COULD, however, become a troll and make your eyes bleed by putting hot pink with pony-powered rainbows all over the place. :P

The current issues are: HP change is delayed and getting damaged/healed isn't properly shown. Some things are too bright. And I need to remove the nachos.

I just lost a good deal of my mod. I forgot that updating wipes it. In order to work around this, I have to backup my mod and then update.
Thankfully I have an older version backed up.
PICNIC stands for "Problem In Chair, Not In Computer."

Considering my old petition about adding an option to toggle between the two UIs, I am in full support of this.

By the way, I unfortunately haven't gotten to work on the mod for a little while now. I'm having a few medical things going on at the moment which are keeping me from it. I'll get back to it soon! I also am planning on setting something up so I can work on it from my laptop which is too old to run SK.
+1 I think most of the veteran players will agree that the old UI was the best.
Seems like I'm a bit late to the party but you get all the +1's in the world from me.

There it is sorry I had to rummage through my arsenal to find it, it's been a while since something great has been developed.
As for what your doing there are a couple things that catch my eye with this.
1. An increase in frame rate, idc who says it even if Autofire himself says it, but this new UI and all the animations with it have caused a great amount of unwanted lag. My computer used to play this game on maxed out settings with no problem and never had a low fps rate ever. Then the new UI pops in and my computer literally is working it brain off anymore trying to keep up, and honestly IDE do anything to save my computer and enjoy spiral again, at the same time. Well at least until I get a new computer.
2. Change in the art style. This is something that intrigues me but also worries me alittle, but after seeing some of the pictures that were posted I'm not to worried. The new-old UI looks pretty good, the only problem being of course updates, which leads me to the next topic.
3. Availability and ease of use. There is in my mind a bit of hope that OOO and it's team would take this into effect whether it be from autofires help or not. But an overall problem if OOO doesn't cuddle this but allowed it would be a small problem being we would get this from another party (Autofire mainly), and that would mean every patch n update would require another patch and update for the old-new UI. That being if OOO is that nice about this sort of thing.
As for support you have all mine, been playing since right after the beta had ended and this is one game that IDE be reluctant to give up on. No matter how unbalanced or choppy the gameplay gets, I will still always want to have some hope in it.
As for dev support, I think they should support you as well honestly, your doing work for them all they need is to show a smile and give a hand.

I definitely support this. I feel that this new UI took away a lot of functionality from the old UI, but they made it look pretty. Things I miss about the old HUD that the new one lacks, in no particular order:
1. Difficult to tell if someone is dead, or just really low on health.
2. Cannot shuffle the utility belt like we used to be able to. If you attempt to move something to an empty slot, the item just drops. The slots must be populated to shuffle items around.
3. Cannot tell which weapon(s) are cursed without the weapon wheel.
4. Cannot keep track of my health as easily as I did with the old HUD.
5. Longer names get cut off.
6. Can no longer tell who's waiting on the elevator without actually being at the elevator.
7. Crowns and energy no longer visible without opening the inventory.
8. More difficult to see what status conditions I am affected by.
In all honesty I would be happy if there was an option to use the oldschool UI instead of the new one.

Unfortunately, all those things can't be easily fixed by me. There is a chance I could re-add some of these things, but I don't want to be changing functionality unless I'm absolutely sure that OOO would allow it. Even then, the only thing I could do is try to drop the old .dat files in there, but who knows how well that'll work.

1: I have definitely noticed a great speed increase. Not that the new UI slows it down too much most of the time, but I see an increase in frame rate with this mod.
2: Yes, I'm trying to make this look as much like as it used to as possible.
3: This IS a stumbling block. With each update, there's a chance the mod could break something. The mod will have to be re-released any time after it breaks something. However, I'm fully willing to maintain this mod as long as SK lasts. (Or as long as I stay...which ever one is shorter.)
3a: On this note, I plan on creating a program of some kind to manage it. This program will be able to get the newest version of the mod, be able to install it, and also would be able to uninstall it and replace the original files. As for the mod itself, it won't contain any files actually in the game. The only thing you'll find will be the files I put in it, and the originals will be backed up.

I started the game before the new UI was added, and I was really p*ssed when I couldn't see my health, because It wasn't in the same spot.
What do you get from me? + a tipped over 8! (And or infiniteh.)
It shouldn't be too much of a hassle for the devs. If some want the new UI, why not make it optional?

I haven't gotten to work on the mod for a little while now, but there is one big issue I've found:
Without graphical glitches, there is no way I can replace the old inventory buttons completely. I can get close, but I can't have the blue buttons turn yellow because the yellow buttons will overlap the text, making it so you can't see the text while you mouse over it. It will probably be replaced with a highlight effect akin to the current effects.
For the sake of my sanity, my eyes, and my penchant for nostalgia.

I just got back from a months-long ragequit, and first thing I noticed was the "new" and "improved" UI. I liked it better when everything wasn't so flashy and huge and hard-to-access (energy depot is no longer a giant button D:) If such a thing is feasible (to make changes to the existing UI) then you have my support.
Dirigible, unfortunately I can't change the size of buttons. If you don't like flashy, though, then I think you'll like this mod anyway. ;)
There were elements of the old UI that I preferred (e.g. the energy meter)...
But the new UI is shiny and epic (e.g. when you step on the elevator you see an epic picture of your party dashing forward).
