So... Here's my fanfiction. Ive decided to revive it; i like the idea, and I've already put time and effort into creating it. Therefore, here is the rebooted version of Death From Above! Enjoy!

The Story

The Spiral Order has finally unlocked the secrets of the Core- and with it, the blueprints to a deadly weapon of mass destruction- the Valkyroids. Valkyroids are highly intelligent robotic destroyers made in the likeness of the protectors of Heaven. They are superior to the Isorans in every way, shape, and form, and have replaced most conventional weapons. With this new discovery, the Order quickly takes over Cradle, obliterating the monsters of the Clockworks, forcing them out of their homes and leaving the creatures with no choice but to try and adapt to life on the surface. Hurray, everything's fine and dandy, you might think. But no, what good is a story without any conflict? An ex-Spiralian scientist with a personal vendetta against the Order has turned criminal and developed a new generation of Valkyroids that are far more powerful than the Spiral Order's ones, and with the help of a criminal organization, plans to overthrow all of Cradle and become overlord of everything.

With the help of a Valkyroid named Ikaros, an elite special ops force is sent to infiltrate the scientist's- named Khan -base and destroy the Valkyroids there. And the ground of Cradle will be soaked in a sea of red.

Access granted.

Type Zenithos: the most well rounded of Valkyroids. Their defensive and intellectual capacities match those of their bretheren, but their potential lies in their immensely superior combat and aerial capabilities.

Type Alpha: the fastest of all Valkyroids, the Alphas are designed for flight. They're armed with lasers, machine guns , and many more destructive anti-infantry weapons.

Type Beta: These are the stealth fighters among Valkyroids. Their sole objective is to sneak up on the target and assassinate them. They are extremely adept at evading enemy radar. However, they are decent in a fight and can hold their own against an entire squad of Knights. A Beta's arsenal consists of short-range suppressed weapons.

Type Gamma: Known to some as "electronic warfare" Valkyroids, Gammas are adept at hacking and manipulating machinery. They also possess electrokinetic abilities and even the dumbest among them have an IQ score easily upwards of 700.

Type Delta: These are the heavy-hitters among Valkyroids. Next to the Type Zenithos Valkyroids, they are the most powerful. Their fighting style is different from Zenithoses; instead of being all around, they focus on short-range combat. Deltas are equipped with immensely powerful ammunition and are adept at martial arts.

Type Epsilon: Epsilons are naturally weak; even the average cobalt Knight could down one. But when mixed with other Valkyroids, they are deadly. They can drain Energy from their enemies and either redirect it to other Valkyroids or utilize it themselves. In a sense, they are like Guardians; they provide support for their allies, but can also hold their own given the chance.

Type Zeta: also known as "Aquatic Warfare" Valkyroids, Type Zetas are somewhat weaker than other Valkyroids. However, put them in water, and they are capable of destroying entire fleets.

Accessing database file- Second Generation Valkyroids... Please hold.

File 274: Project Theta- Thetas are a combination of Zenithos and Delta Valkyroids. They are extremely powerful and adept in combat, easily out shining the first generation Valkyroids. Truly, they are powerful foes.

File 492: Project Omicron- if Zetas and Betas had a baby, type Omicrons would be the child. They aren't any different from Zetas or Betas; they're the same, only better. Although Betas emit a radar that nothing is supposed to be able to get past, Omicrons can beat the Betas at their own game and still evade the radar. In the water, they are faster than Zetas and easily destroy entire fleets.

File 529: Project Sigma- Sigmas are like the mind child of Epsilon and Gamma Valkyroids. They are adept with machinery and can hack Gammas with ease- which is funny considering the fact that Gammas are supposed to be capable of hacking any system in the world.

File 291: Project Upsilon- A faster, stronger version of the Alphas, Upsilons were created for the sole purpose of initiating quick hit-and-run strikes to harass the Isorans.

File 2012: Project Omega- Easily the strongest Valkyroids ever created, the Omegas were designed to be the more powerful equivalent of the Ouranos Valkyroids. They combine the abilities of Zetas, Epsilons, Deltas, Gammas, Betas, Alphas, AND Zenithos's to form a deadly opponent. An army of Zenithos Valkyroids would be decimated by a single Omega; that is the extent of their unstoppable wrath.

Here's my app.

Name: Ikaros Nakatsuki

Gender: female

Faction: Spiral Order

Personality: not much of a talker. She's shy and timid... Usually. When in her battle mode, she is a ruthless killer deprived of any emotion. She has a warm affinity towards Snipes and, for some reason, watermelons...

Appearance: Ikaros is of normal height and sports long, flowing hot pink hair that is tied by two thin white ribbons. Her forest green eyes display a deep kindness, but when her battle mode is activated, they turn a fiery red, and crosshairs are faintly visible in them if you look close enough. Her... Chest is larger than that of most girls, and she almost always has a small, sad smile on her face at all times.

Arsenal: Artemis Bow, Jupiter Blade, Combuster, Uranus Gauntlet, Uranus Queen armor, Aegis Mark II

Bio: The first of a group of Zenithos Valkyroids known as Project Ouranos, Ikaros was the greatest success that the Core had, and was dubbed as the greatest of the Ouranos valkyroids, the "Uranus Queen". She far exceeds the capabilties of all other Valkyroids, -even her Ouranos bretheren, who themselves put regular Zenithos Valkyroids to shame- and has the capability to destroy entire armies singlehandedly (although the average Zenithos is designed to do the same). Despite her power, Ikaros tries desperately to fit in with the Isorans, and is generally accepted by them because of her kind and loving personality. When word got out of "Second Generation Valkyroids" that could rival -indeed, even exceed- the Ouranos Valkyroids, Ikaros was sent along with an elite squadron of Isorans and a few other Valkyroids to locate and destroy both whoever was creating the Second Generations, and the Seconds as well.

Model: First Generation Valkyroid- Type Zenithos

Feline-Grenadier
Halloa!

Feline-Grenadier, with yet ANOTHER APP!

Name: "Lucifer" Project Omega - Mk. II - Status : Active.

Type: Omega

Gender: Male

Appearance: A young man with a boyish look to him. He is a mere five feet, five inches. His jet-black hair could remind an individual of a raven, but the firey glint in his amber eyes might suggest something more...sinister. However, as he is rarely angry, his pale face compliments the eyes as a cheery pair of lamp-lights. It's rare to find him smiling either, although he can control himself. His wings are jet black, and shine a queer pale blue in any light, regardless of color.

Personality: A very shy person, who doesn't talk much, if at all. He isn't easy to warm up to, and he tends to distance himself from others. Upon being spotted by a person, his first reaction would be to flee, and wouldn't fight unless it meant life or death to him. Despite his fierce appearance, he is a very different person. He is strongly against violence and sins, which makes him a very disagreeable character for the less law-abiding populace and his peers. He absolutely hates killing, and if forced to do so [he is not the one to instigate anything], he makes himself reclusive for entire days. After that period of solitary confinement, however, he seems to return to normal.

Loadout:

[{Original Design}Void Set - Coat, shirt, fingerless gloves, trousers, foot wraps] Total Set Effects:
ASI : High. Shadow Defense : Very High. Flight Speed and Endurance Increase : Very High. Pierce Vulnerability : Very High. Movement Speed Increase : Maximum.

[{Calibur-Type} Permafrost Vanquisher] Total Weapon Effects:
Damage Increase Versus Undead : Maximum. CTR : Medium. Damage Output : Normal. Low Chance to deal High Freeze.

[{Flourish-Type} Vector's Spite] Total Weapon Effects:
Movement Speed Increase : Medium. Damage Output: 50% Pierce, 50% Shadow.

[{Shield-Alternative Protoype} Hard-Light Module] Total Module Effects:
Damage Output: Normal.
Defense: Medium.

Bio:

In order to protect high-value targets from liabilities, such as the first Omega, Luke was rushed through RnD to create an "Anti-Valkyroid Omega". However, as the scenario was highly unlikely, he was made with minimal care within the span of half a year, and thus resulted in an inferior, though powerful, Omega Valkyroid. He isn't 3/4's of the first Omega's potential, but he still possesses his own set of unique, resourceful strengths, the likes of which might prove an entertaining fight against even a Uranus Queen.

Because of his cowardly demeanor, the creators have deemed him as a last-resort, unneeded unit. His simply being an Omega prevented his elimination, as even the weakest second-generation Valkyries had some more worth than the first-generations.

The Valkyroid is allowed to roam around the lowest levels of the Clockwork, much to everyone's convenience (especially to the first Omega's relief), and thus is rarely encountered by Knights. Because of his own distaste for conflict, Lucifer tends to avoid the more desolate areas of the Clockworks with high amounts of negative energy, like Almire. Thus, it's very unlikely to find him roaming around, especially since the dangerous areas attract most Knights. However, it's not an impossibility that anyone could find him dozing off at an abandoned Arsenal, an emptied Deconstruction Zone, or even a Jigsaw Valley. (especially on the Gremlins' lunch break).

For some reason, though, he strongly dislikes the Aurora Isles.

In short, Luke could be considered closely to a "civilian-use" Valkyroid, if they were cheap enough to not hold the godly arsenal hidden underneath their clothing. His extremely pacifistic nature bring most to belittle and disregard him, even if he is an Omega.

It's this hard truth, the truth that he would probably only be able to best the best of all Valkyries and then crushed by droves of the supposedly "inferior" comrades that thirst for the position to become the "End of the First", that Luke deals with every day that causes him to neglect his fighting ability. No, not because he had learned to love (yet) life as it was for him, but rather, the legacy he would leave behind. In his case, if he died, nobody would notice.

Just a little fore note, sorry if mine isn't what you intended but i figured it'd be pretty cool.

===============================================================================================

Faction: Spiral order

Model: Type Delta (the heaviest of them all)

Gender: Female

Name: Her real name is Feind Jäger or Enemy Hunter but she is called many names such as the Armagedon, Dolvca, Magma Queen, Aestuo, or Ctritz, she tends to prefer Critz more then the others. Superiors call her FJ to stand in for her real name as its difficult to pronounce.

Personality: She is quite shy and is quite loving when someone gets to know her. She doubts herself a lot and trails off into thinking when something comes up. But she does malfunction sometimes and her mind flips into insanity. Her preference on things twist and her foundation on what is going on crumbles when things go way out of hand. She is very protective of those that she cares about or those that care about her. She will take a hit so they can continue if needed.

Appearance: The most notable feature on her is a large cannon on her right shoulder. Its barrel at least 7 feet feet in length, pivoting on her shoulder, the majority of the cannon is in front, the heavier blast chamber is behind the shoulder. The Barrel is 105 mm and has two mechanical struts the can move that just from what would be her shoulder blade, these allow for elevating and depressing the cannon at different angles. She is short to allow for a lower center of gravity, but putting her at a disadvantage when it come to moving through crowds. She wears her a costume over her main armor so it isn't revealed. The costume consist of a surge raiment and surge winged helm. There is a prismatic halo (personal color is blue) and Glasses on the surge winged helm and the raiment features a twilight aura with a surge bomb bandoleer. Her lower arms are much bigger then most other Valkyloids and she doesn't have wings for flight. At a distance, one would say she does, but they are actually long poles that jut from her back and pierce into the ground when she is about to fire her cannon. The poles retract into themselves once she is done. Her form is like a regular knight, but let this not fool you, she is immensely heavy.

--

Name: Reactive plating- Mercury Mk. 8
Level: 5*
Protection: Extremely strong against everything
Ability: Change its statistics to the situation
Description: This armor if heavy, durable and does it's job. It reacts on the fly to whatever is attacking it but slows the wear down when moving. It allows the user to take many more hits then most other armors. Prevents the wear from flying.

--

Name: Saturn Blade Xl
Level: 4*
Damage: Normal Damage

--

Name: Duel Sun Gauntlets
Level:4*
Protection type: Strong against everything
Description: These gauntlets extend up the forearm of the user and act as shields. They surpass many other Valkyroid shields.

Bio: Feind Jäger lays at the bottom of the core, resting as her brothers and sisters fly above her. She was the heaviest of them all, she was the tank of their kind. But only she knew this, as others would point and laugh at her as she couldn't fly with them. She became reluctant to face others and welcome them. She kinda hated her creation as she went against what her counterparts where meant for. They where meant for flight, maneuverability, close quarters, and fast hitting. She was slow, took a large amount of damage, she was mainly for ranged combat, and could not fly. She sulked in a isolated section of the core for a long time. She once heard the core speaking once, then words emanating from within her mind "The spiral order have finally broken into me...Farewell my children." And that was the last thing she heard from anything. She at one point figured she would see what the fuss was about and finally went into the area where majority of her kind wandered. When she reached the are, there was no one there, all except a few knights in hoods observing the place.

Her own knees buckled and she fell to her knees. The clanging of the heavy armor attracted the nearby knights and they soon looked in shock at her, approaching slowly. Her mind was confused on what these things were, why they where there, and where the others had gone. She as well didn't want them to see her hideous armor. She was soon surrounded by multiple knights as she sat in the middle of them, looking down on the ground. All of them talking, many of them just asking "Is she a Valkyloid?" She didn't know what a Valkyloid was but she guessed they were referring to the ones that she knew. She then feels a metal tap on her shoulder and looks up. It was one of her kind, holding out a hand for her to grab onto. She grabs the hand and is pulled to her feet.

"What is your name....?" The Valkyloid says, looking into Feind's eyes.

"M-....My...My name is.... Feind Jäger.... I cannot fly...." Says Feind, as she sulks in the middle. The other Valkyloid grimly looks at her before going around her and lifting her up, only barely getting her out of the core and onto a platform nearby. The Valkyloid points to a nearby home elevator and waves good bye before it flies off. Fiend gets on the elevator and heads up to haven.

--

It has been a while since she was found but it didn't take long for her to get used to and be admired by the knights and other Valkyloids. Fiend was now called Critz by most and had gained enough crowns to by herself a costume. Her cannon was the main distinguish from her and other Valkyloids and she was known mainly for this. She was still shy like before and rarely went on missions with people she didn't know to well, but when she did, she was a major asset to the group and wrecked the enemy one way or the other. She took hits for the team, moving into a hostile area and taking the hits while the team followed and took out the enemies for her. She placed fear into whatever enemy she encountered. But in Haven, she tried hiding from many people and mainly played around with the snipes that still where around.

Hmm...

It's been a while since I've done this, so here goes. I'll try a new guy.

Name: Fuse

Gender: Male

Faction: Khan's Army

Personality: Boastful and cocky, Fuse is one of Cradle's top assassins, spending his time drifting, taking up contracts when they catch his fancy. He is knowledgeable about the 'sport' of killing, often looking upon his work with a hint of obsession, and sometimes treating his contracts like a game. He has an affinity for bombs, and is always enthralled by watching things burn, erode, and explode, seeing it as "majestic, in a twisted, arsonist kind of way", as he himself describes it. His competitive nature often makes room for arrogance, which can on a very rare occasion cause him setbacks, but only within games he plays with other assassins at his chosen 'sport'. His taste for the theatrical has often led him to change masks to suit his loadout, eg. Pumpkin masks in conjunction with fire-type weaponry.

Appearance: He is never seen without one of his trademark masks, which are custom-made Bomb-heads, each with their own design, a self-lowering visor with a coloured plate at the base that conceals his mouth, which can be withdrawn at will, and a long fuse that trails down to his shoulder blades like a ponytail. His armour is also custom made from Khan's Valkyroid designs, sporting a sleek material that allows for greater mobility in combat, yet with as much protection as four-star armour. The armour is plated around the joints and shoulders with what resemble bomb casings, but are actually stylised plates to allow for more protection around his limbs, which he often uses offensively with shoulder charges and elbow strikes. His right arm is entirely cybernetic after an unfortunate encounter with a bounty hunter in the past.

Arsenal: Cybernetic arm equipped with numerous gadgets and weapons, including an Aegis Shield, Uranus Gauntlet, grappling hook, and a concealed blade on the forearm, as well as three specific bomb types suited to the mission at hand, and a Callahan firearm.

Bio: Fuse got into the assassin scene when a corrupt officer's apartment went up in flames after he was contacted to put an end to his illegal operations. Since then, Fuse has honed his bomb-wielding, and set up numerous successful traps that always ended in a large paycheck. On one particular mission, he was tasked with ending the life of a notorious bounty hunter called Cross, who he once competed with in a friendly game of 'assassination'. Convinced that he would beat Cross like before when he killed the target that his opponent was also contracted to kill, he attempted to lure him to a trap.

Cross saw through the trap, and engaged Fuse in a duel, ending in Fuse getting his arm pinned to a wall via a piece of rebar which Cross bent so Fuse remained trapped. Cross left him with a small knife to cut his arm off should he wish to escape, before leaving the embittered assassin to whatever choice he made for himself. A while later, and Fuse has entered the employ of a Doctor Khan, who has been kind enough to spare some technology to provide a new arm and armour. Fuse has not heard from his rival since that day, and remains ever-vigilant as he follows khan's orders.

On a side note, the Valkyroids seem mucho overpowered-o when put into the Spiral Knights universe. I don't think any Spiral characters would be capable of fighting even the runts of the litter.

App time!

Name: Huntren

Personality: His unknown origin has lead to a dark personality. He may give you a laugh if he's in a good mood but you are lucky if you see him smile. He will make a strong bond with anyone who he trusts. Even though he is quite solitary he has given a liking to snipes and has a soft heart for them.

Gender: Male

Faction: Not really on anyone’s team, I’ll leave this to you. He doesn’t mind the Spiral Order and he hasn’t even heard of Khan. He probably can be easily persuaded to join either.

Appearance: A young appearance, his face with sharp features, almost like a hawk. He is tall being above 6 feet. He has a good build. His eyes are a bright yellow giving a kind warm look however he may give you a hard stare, which is rather intimidating. You would regularly find him with a determined face or if not then a dark cruel look which makes the yellow eyes not so friendly after all. He has Midnight wings with several black streaks across them.

Arsenal:
Armor = Oblivion (Version.VI) helmet and coat [Exactly like Skolver armor but has a significant darker look to it]:
Protection against Shadow damage = Very High
Protection against Pierce damage = High

Protection against Shock = Weak
Flight speed bonus = Very High, Weapon speed bonus = Medium.

Swords = Dread Venom Striker (altered version prototype):
Normal damage = High
Shadow damage = Medium

Deduction on damage v.s Fiends.

Desc: An altered version of the Dread Venom Striker but with a darker essence stored inside it. Etched in the blade are dark purple lines, which emit a dark smoke.

Twilight blade (Version.III):
Shadow damage = Very High
Normal damage = Very high
Speed = Slow
Chance of causing moderate Sleep = High

Desc: A Heavy dark sword, which crushes opponents like a fly being crushed like an elephant. The sword is much like a Troika but although it seems transparent if you look closely at it seems as though in the sword, there is dark void in there.

Shield = The Dim Protector (Original Version):
Protection against Shadow = Very high
Protection against Normal = Very high
Protection against Fire = High
Protection against Shock = High
Protection against Poison = High
Protection against Sleep = Weak
Protection against Stun = Weak
Sword speed bonus = High
Flight speed bonus = Low

Desc = Is a extremely modified version of a Royal Jelly Shield. The purplish jelly is almost pure black but with a tinge of purple. The crown that surrounds the shield is a shade of dark dark blue which sometimes dims the light surrounding it.

Knife Glove = A glove which has small slits to fit knifes in. Huntren stores small throwing knives in filled with small amounts of Virulisk poison. Just enough to make a knight sick for a few days.

Bio: Created by an unknown, he only remembers walking around in the streets alone with no one to follow and nothing to do. He taught himself how to steal and has stolen many weapons, then tinkering with them to create new wonders. He recalls a time when he was wading through water and sudden power surged through him. He began climbing trees and making temporary camps in the branches and finding snipes that had decided to roost up there. He regularly stroked them and gave them crumbs of bread that he had stole especially for the snipes. The snipes liked him back despite his hollow personality to others. Every time he pickpockets through the crowd he occasionally hears several snippets of news about the general Cradle. This is the only source of information about the Spiral Order as he lives alone in the forests only coming to the Haven steal bread and materials for his hobby of tinkering.

Faction: Knights

Name: Manta

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Personality: A fiery spirit, she's set on standing up for others or herself, whether they like it or not. Even if it seems mostly pointless, she'll try anyway, and keep on going until it's done. She tends to do things her own way, resisting authority unless she sees fit. However, she can be discouraged or deceived easier than most. Another problem with her is that once she's in a debate or argument someone, she finds herself unable to stop, even if the other side has been justified. Nonetheless, she's very social, preferring the company of others. She also has a surprisingly well-developed, yet somewhat dark sense of humor.

Appearance: Short, tousled white hair that hangs to just below her jawline in the back. Is also an albino, and has red eyes as a result. Usually wears a casual dress shirt and cargo pants, and a light jacket if it's cold outside. Has a small, futuristic looking collar of unknown origin on her neck (possible plot device related to Valkyroids?) that can't seem to be taken off, and is made of a shiny black material, similar to plastic but having the properties of metal. It's slightly rounded on the sides, and seems to grow with her.

Arsenal:

Crimsonite Wrench Wand - Using schematics for Wrench Wands stolen from Gremlin territory, the Spiral Order built on this, and almost literally. This wrench wand has a crystal of pure Crimsonite embedded in the tip, allowing you to weld and repair machinery all at once. However, it's prototypical, and only given to high-ranking Mechanics. There's also been a few aesthetic modifications, giving it a little better appearance.

Elemental Damage - 8/10 bars
Speed - 5.5/10 bars

She also carries a pack of Deconstructors, for when something can't be fixed, and a Lionheart Honor Blade for combat, awarded to her for her contributions to the Spiral Order in terms of machinery.

For armor, she wears a set of Dragon Scale Mail and a Kat Claw Hood, but she doesn't wear these unless she's in combat.

Bio: Nobody really knows where she came from. Not even her. At the age of 14, around when the core was opened, she was found drugged, but alive, in a garbage bag, which was left in Haven's Main Square. She was taken to the hospital, where she was brought back to health. When she woke up, she was questioned by the Order, but the results stated that she didn't know her name, her parents, or even her early childhood. But she did know something. Her knowledge of technology was incredible, to the point of being nearly inhuman. Eventually, she was christened "Manta", and the Order became her rightful guardians, seeing as she didn't know anyone that could be her parents. In school, she was very quiet at first, but quickly gained her fiery nature. She was a mostly excellent student, however, her rebellious nature got her into fights every once in a while. Preferring to join the Recon Knights instead of being on the front lines, she took and passed the test. In the present day, she works as a Recon Head Mechanic, fixing various things and even modifying certain machines. She's also tried to get the collar off, but to no avail. It's made of some black, shiny material that refuses to be damaged.

Prologue

All characters are accepted! I will proceed with the adding of them to thr character list later, but I'll get around to it eventually. As for your comment, Scamall, the Valkyroids have several weaknesses that can be exploited. First of all, they are machines, and no matter how advanced, they are liable to malfunction. All Valkyroids were created with a built-in fail safe mechanism; each individual Valkyroid has a unique passcode, and if someone were to get ahold of one, they'd essentially be the new master of that Valkyroid, and therefore the one who can stop it from wreaking havoc should something go wrong. In addition, most Valkyroids are not used to functioning as a team unit; they are individual fighters. A successful team of Knights could easily keep even an Omega occupied, if they're skilled enough.
------

Omega Test Run

The Valkyrie gazed at the puny Monsters below. Stretching her magnificent, jet black wings, she glided over the enemy's fort. Her hawklike eyesight zoomed in on her target; the Gremlin encampment. Patrolling around the perimeter was a group of fourteen Ghostmane Stalkers, which her radar easily revealed. She spotted the Gremlin Warmaster, Seerus Polaron, whirling his hammer around, shouting orders to his subordinates. Behind him were nearly half a thousand assorted Gremlins; Demos, Thwackers, the works. Inside of a group of tents, approximately two thousand civilian Gremlins meandered. Turning her attention back to her main targets, the Valkyrie frowned at the Monster's pathetic defenses.

"Look out!" Someone screamed. "Valkyroid incoming! Fire the cannons!" Hera sneered in disgust as thousands of lasers emerged from the earth, locking onto her. Beams of light stretched out from their barrels, and she instinctively created a black force field, neutralizing the attack.

A hundred Thwackers formed a barrier around the civilian portion of the camp. But alas, it was in vain. They stood no chance against the Valkyrie's wrath. A low frequency hum resounded through her brain, and the Valkyrie tuned in to the station. A deep, baritone voice commanded her, "Omega, have you reached the objective?" As the Valkyrie nodded her answer, the voice resumed, "Good. Execute offensive plan 83." A snarl appeared on her face as she aimed her lasers at the enemy. She remembered what her creators had called her... "Project Omega", was it? She shook her head and locked on. Her obsidian-black eyes glinted with malicious intent, and she fired.

Death and fire rained down from the heavens.
_________

The man in the shadows chuckled, a sadistuc smile playing upon his lips. He had short black hair which was buzz-cut, an average build, and a handsome face. But behind this mask of good looks, one could see the cruel expression in his eyes. He laughed with maniacal glee as he watched the ultimate Omega Valkyroid, dubbed as "Hera", mercilessly annihilated the targets. The man laughed; he had successfully proven Hera's power, yet at the same time, eliminated the second last major threat to the Spiralian order. The most dangerous threat? Why, it was none other than those sponsoring him. He pondered this strange rush of pride; he was usually cold and calculating, not arrogant. It was... Unnatural.

Shaking his head, the man noticed a group of black figures approach his laboratory. From the shadows appeared an enormous man, who wore an impeccably tailored outfit comprised of a suit, slacks, and tie. His black shades covered the maniacal expression his eyes exhibited. This was Enis, second in command and representative of Tooth and Claw, the most powerful criminal organization ever to taint the cities of Cradle. They also happened to be the ones funding the scientist's experiments. Enis asked in a powerful, baritone voice, "How has the experiment turned out?" After a long moment of silence, a cackle escaped from the Khan's mouth, and he said to the the larger man and his comrades...

"What do you think, Enis? Only one of my Generation 2 Valkyroids annihilated an entire Gremlin encampment. Once I can produce more of them, the Order will stand no chance against you. You'll take over Cradle and all its resources, and you'll be the richest men on this planet. But before you destroy the Order, I must carry out my vengeance. Will you support me?"

Enis nodded. "Without fail."

Chapter 1: Lucifer

The moon was bright, the sky clear of clouds, and the air brisk and soothing. It was a good night to be outside, so that was where Lucifer was. He was a Valkyroid of average build, with shining black wings and a fiery glint in his amber eyes. He stared at the horizon anxiously, appearing as if he was waiting for someone. And indeed he was.

A small blob of darkness appeared in the distance, drawing Lucifer's attention. As it drew closer, he made out the outline of a large winged creature. Soon, he could identify the thing; it was Hera. He smiled as the Omega Valkyroid set down next to him, her glossy black wings shining in the moonlight. "What took ya so long," Lucifer asked jokingly.

"Oh... I had to run a quick errand for Khan," Hera replied anxiously. She was referring to the fact that she had destroyed an entire encampment of Gremlin soldiers. So much for a quick errand.

Lucifer sat back against a tree and smiled. "Hey... Would you possibly, oh, I dunno, like to watch a movie with me?"

The Omega Valkyroid smiled for the first time in her short -but still longer than Lucifer's- life.

"Yes. I'd like that very much."

Chapter 2

Ikaros

Chapter 2: Ikaros

The Clockwork's gears rotated slowly and methodically, the rusty yet strong metal supporting an unfathomable amount of land on top.. It was yet another ordinary day in the maze of the Clockworks except for... *CLANK!* the noises of the Spiralian crew attempting to pry the Core open broke the silence of the night. A battle hardened, tall, rugged man with a ragged scar down his cheek oversaw the activity, looking on determinedly. Lieutenant Feron. He turned to the woman next to him, was even taller than he and sporting a vast array of weaponry. This was Dezna. "We're almost there. The Core will soon be open..." Feron whispered.
He didn't notice the faint smile on Dezna's face as she nodded.

Meanwhile, activity was going on in the core. A young girl emerged from a dark pod, sparks flying from her body. Her maroon-pink hair fell slowly to her hips like a shampoo commercial come to life. Her majestic pink wings expanded to their full size and beat the still air around her. Surrounding the girl were several identical pods, in which she could make out the forms of several other people. She turned to the blinding light in front of her and listened as the Core whispered in a soft, melodic voice, "They're finally doing it... The Isorans will finally breach my skin and desecrate Cradle's last sanctuary... Sad." The girl cocked her head to the side curiously, and the barely visible form of the woman that was the Core imitated her. It's face became slightly more visible, and the girl could just make out a smile. She heard a voice, no more than a whisper in her mind,

"Yes... Go forth my child. You are my greatest creation. I shall name you... Ikaros. Now, grace the world with your presence, and pave the path for your brothers and sisters to join you. All hail the Uranus Queen..."

As the Core slowly creaked open, the Isorans cheered in delight. They banged shields together, high fived, and made a general ruckus. The commotion finally died down as they were met with a blinding light... And with the glow of two blazing crimson eyes.

Ikaros smiled as she watched Talekot work. She loved to watch the guy tinker with and modify his technology; not only was it entertaining, it was fun to make small talk and joke around with both Tale and his Valkyroid Quantum. She leaned against the wall inside of Tale's personal laboratory and office and grinned up at the camera in the ceiling. "How ya been lately, Quantum? Getting your daily dose of Crystal Energy?" Turning her attention to the computer that functioned as Quantum's face, she noticed a smiley face on the monitor and listened happily as the Type Alpha responded through the speakers in the room, "Good, good. It's been the same old. So, what about you? You're thin as a twig; have you been eating recently?"

Ikaros smiled good-naturedly and nodded as she tapped Talekot on the shoulder. "Hey," she whispered, "Take a rest for once. Look at you; your eye bags have eye bags." The scientist looked at Ikaros wearily, a tired look in his eyes. Ikaros pulled out a pillow from her backpack and gently moved over Talekot's gadgets, then placed the silky soft pillow down on the desk. Tale smiled and immediately plopped his head down on the desk. He was snoring within seconds. With that done, Ikaros sat back in a chair and stretched her legs. Being a Valkyroid, she had no need -or even the ability- to sleep, so she simply engaged in small talk with Quantum for the duration of the night.

She was called in by Commander Ozlo himself the next day. Assuming it was just another ordinary mission, the Valkyroid dutifully said goodbye to Quantum and went to Town Hall.

She had no idea what was in store for her.

___________
Talekot

The scientist's "office" was surprisingly large, and in truth, served as a laboratory for his personal experiments. The room was almost completely white, with black accents decorating the tiles on the floor. On one wall hung several shelves containing gears, cogs, screws, and a myriad of other metal parts that even an expert would have trouble identifying. On the opposite wall was an impressive computer system, with 3 screens. One large screen in the middle, with two others on either side. It served as both Talekot's personal computer, and a way to access the Spiral Order's immense database of knowledge. It was also the home of his friend and personal assistant, Quantum. With two security cameras hanging on opposite corners of the lab, Quantum could see everything inside.

In the middle of the room was a large table filled with all sorts of tools for taking things apart, and putting them back together. Talekot was tinkering with a Blaster Handgun. Behind him, the Valkyroid Ikaros was sitting in a spare chair, speaking to Quantum though the security cameras. Talekot paid no heed to their conversation as he was busy at the moment. He was attempting to find a way to focus the charge blast of the gun, as the large shot was bigger than most of its targets, and a majority of the energy ended up dissipating uselessly into the air.

... so if I adjust the inner frame slightly, and make the exit barrel longer, the charged shot should become more focused... He thought to himself as he began taking apart the handgun once more, this was his 7th attempt at improving it in the same night, as all the previous ones had ended up either malfunctioning, or harming the user.

He felt a tap on his back just as he finished dividing the weapon into 2 halves. "Hey, take a rest for once. Look at you; your eye bags have eye bags." Ikaros whispered. Talekot looked at the Valkyroid, unsure if he should agree or not. This design could be the one I was looking for, but then again I haven't slept in 3 days... and the side-effects of all those energy drinks I've taken are starting to kick in...

Without waiting for an answer, Ikaros pushed away all the items on his table to the side, and placed a pillow on the top. That sealed the deal for Talekot. I suppose a nap wouldn't hurt He thought. He fell asleep in a matter of seconds.

---

"One more experiment, my friend! One more is all we need for their secrets to be unveiled to us. We will have the knowledge to create as many of them as we need." A deep and commanding voice said. "But... it's not right... We can't just take them apart like any old machine!" Talekot responded. "They ARE machines! They are elaborate mechanisms built to mirror emotion and fight with cold efficiency. You honestly do not believe that they are actual people, do you?" The voice responded. "We... we can't go through with this... There has to be another way... Tale replied with wavering resolve. "I'm sorry Tale, but a little evil must be done, for a greater good..."

---

By the time Talekot had awakened, sunlight was streaming into the room, and Ikaros was nowhere around. "Good morning, sir!" Quantum said through the speakers. The scientist rubbed his eyes. "What time is it, Quantum?" He asked. "It's a few minutes past 9 in the morning, sir. You also have a missed call from Commander Ozlo. I told him you were still asleep." The AI replied. Talekot did a double-take. "Commander Ozlo? What would he want with me?" Talekot asked Quantum, wondering what was so important that the leader of the Spiral Order, and head of Spiral HQ would contact him personally. "I don't know, sir... He wouldn't tell me anything other than the fact that he'd only speak to you." Quantum replied.

Talekot pondered for a moment, and then gave orders to Quantum. "Contact Commander Ozlo's office. I'd like to know what he wants." He said. "Yes sir." Quantum replied as the computer system began working on its own. I hope it's not a problem with the Valkyroids, or... him... Talekot thought worriedly.

Name: Lurius

Faction: Spiral Order

Gender: Mail

Bio: Lurius had been living in the clockworks (about depth 15) for years. When the Order sent knights on the Roarmulus mission, they found him in a hole, fighting off gremlins. They took him back to the Order, and they hired him, mainly for his speed in combat. He has been since been promoted as a Vanguard and is put in extreme missions. (Given that fact, he was fighting during the Operation Crimson Hammer incident.) Now, he lives in Stimile, a small town not far from Haven. (A noteble fact about him is that he secretly roams the Clockworks at night, for unknown reasons.)

Personality: Quite grim. He favors guns over most things, but he uses a sword. Lurius also has technology knowledge (meaning that he is like a less smart Gamma Valkyroid). He is known to dash into a room and shoot/chop everything in sight. He rarely smiles.

Appearance: Lurius has dark blue eyes, and is known to stare down people in some cases. If you stare at them long enough, they almost have a hypnotic effect. He is short and small, so he is useful for climbing through vents and small places.

Age: 19

Arsenal: Dread, Polaris, Crystal Driver, Volcanic Flarebox, Battle Strike Armor, Battle Strike Helmet, Battle Strike Shield

Dread: 5* Shadow damage around 600
Said to have been created by death itself, this sword almost feels like Death is watching users when they wield it.

Crystal Driver: 5* Shock damage around 400-500
An artifact from long ago, it's bullets are made from the Crystalenite ore from the core itself.

Volcanic Flarebox: 5* Fire damage around 300-500
Forged from the ashes of the Firestorm Citadel, it glows with energy.

Battle Strike Armor: 5* Same attributes as 5* Cobalt, but offers 4 pips more hp. Also is red.
Armor offered to only the knights that will be remembered as legends forever.

Battle Strike Helmet: 5* Same attributes as BSA, but is a helmet.
Commonly used as a symbol of bravery in the Hall of Heroes, the Battle Strike Helmet is made for protection, and as a trophy.

Battle Strike Shield: 5* Same attributes from the BS set but does not give the health.
Said to have been made from Feron himself, the Battle Strike Shield is said to have taken blows that would make a Aegis shatter into a million pieces.

Le plot twist

I've planned for Hera to be something of a yandere- if you don't know what that is, google it. Basically, she's mentally unstable, despite being a robot. Perhaps she could have a secret crush on lucifer, and would wreak havoc should he be destroyed? This is a good explanation you can add as to the reasons for Luci's not being scrapped.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Ikaros was surprised to see Talekot walk into Ozlo's office the next night. So she wasn't the only one called to this emergency meeting. She shrugged and rounded the corner. Rubbing her boots on the doormat, she stepped into Ozlo's office. "Have a seat, Ikaros", he ordered.

The tall, imposing man had chocolate skin and grayish eyes. He fidgeted uncomfortably in his seat and motioned for Ikaros and Talekot to sit. Her shy personality showing, Ikaros asked in a slightly quavery voice, "What do you need, Ozlo?"

The Commander said nothing, and wordlessly dropped a packet of files onto his hard mahogany desk. "Read it," he said quietly. Tentatively, Talekot picked up the folder. He hoped that it didn't have to do with... HIM, but his hopes were dashed as he leafed through the folder's pages, his eyes growing slightly larger with each page.

Inside were multiple pictures of Valkyroids who all sported intricately drawn IIs on the sides of their arms, their red eyes blazing with rage. He saw them ripping beasts to shreds, tearing apart Gremlins, exterminating legions of the Undead. The strange part was... None of them were identifiable. They had no dog tags, like other Valkyroids, only the strange double I inscribed onto their arms.

Ikaros looked nervously over Tale's shoulder and gasped when the page was flipped to a picture of hundreds, no, thousands of dead Gremlins, their eyes a milky white and their entire bodies covered in third degree burns. Who could do such a thing, she thought.

Ozlo scowled. "Well, we have no idea who's been manufacturing these Valkyroids. We also don't know why they've taken out those Gremlins. Only the government is allowed to authorize such strikes."

"Remind me why I am here, would you? I could be out having fun with my friend Phaeton, but I'm not. I had to cancel our dinner date because of this meeting." Ikaros pouted.

Ozlo rolled his eyes as if to ask Talekot, "Is she always so ignorant?" But was rewarded with a mere shrug from the scientist.

"Anyway," Ozlo coughed, you're here because we need you to investigate the scene. We're not sure what happened, but these Valkyroids seem awfully suspicious. And this wasn't the only attack; four more have been reported recently. If these are rogue Valks, we'll need to make sure they won't disturb the peace here in Haven. If they happen to be made for a more malicious purpose than unwittingly helping us in Operation Purgatory, they will have to be exterminated with extreme prejudice. If they just malfunctioned or something, they'll need to be subdued and fixed up."

However, we need to find them first. And the easiest way to do that is to examine the energy signatures left by them at the attack sites. Ikaros, you're a machine and basically a walking laboratory. So that's we're sending you in."

The Uranus Queen smacked her lips angrily. "Is that all I am to you government folks? A portable CSI lab and weapon? I have feelings too, contrary to popular belief." She spit out "contrary to popular belief" as if virtually everyone thought of Valkyroids that way. Which they did.

Ozlo sighed. "Be serious, Ikaros. Talekot, you're our best scientist, so we need you to analyze the scene and tell us what you think happened."

Tale scowled down at the photos of the Valkyroids. "I think I already know."

*grumblegrumble*

I'm more of a 'lurker' when it comes to the forum. Commenting isn't my style. I read practically every post, minus some poorly-written fanfics or that fiasco with the RPs going on right now.

As for the chapter, it was alright, but very short, and the focus on flashbacks wasn't a good choice in my opinion. I would have spread it out a bit further so we can dwell more on the villain's motives. Seemed a bit disjointed, too, in that the sections representing differing time periods had little flow between them. I get that the present day events give cause for said flashback, but there's a distinct lack of indication. I'm not saying to make it overtly obvious, just a quick line or so to ease into memory lane. Also the punctuation for the flashbacks seems off, like it's a character relaying the information. Perhaps treat it like present tense, without having everything contained by quotation marks.

As for the characters, Khan seems a bit cliché. I felt that the "you killed my parents" bit was a tad forced, and didn't leave a good impression of him on me.

Of course, I could be completely wrong. I'm not very experienced at critique.

I can guarantee a comment from me once Fuse is introduced. I'm interested in how you write him. Just don't introduce him too quickly, I'd prefer a more natural introduction. I'm not trying to dictate the story, though. It's your call.

Essentially, that's what they are. Only they're far more advanced and powerful. As you can see, most of them even develop emotions. But they look nothing like mecha knights. They look like just any regular person. (I pretend that Isorans are basically humans; it just makes sense to me)

Edit: sorry guys, but I had to cut some of the characters out of the list... They wouldn't make as much impacting the story as some other characters would, and they would require time and effort to write about. I can't afford to develop all these characters even if I don't see as much of a use for them. Feel free to try and send in another app, maybe it'll do better.

Haven.

The spawning ground of those damnable Knights, the place where the first-generations had roosted.

On a stormy spring night, Hera was ordered to besiege the place. While she was one of the most powerful of the Valkyroids, especially out of the G-II's, Haven would still prove a nigh-impossible challenge for her; she was too inexperienced. Unlike Gremlins, who admittedly had lesser intellect than some of their own constructs, Knights had prepared for all sorts of plans for different scenarios. Not to mention they had some experienced fighters AND the first-gens.

So Lucifer shut his eyes tight when Hera dropped the first volley of ordinance on the Auction House. While not many people would die, the destruction of trade might as well be the gag needed to choke the Knights from attaining wealth, forcing them to ask for resources from their allies and enemies.

Immediately, sirens rang up, and what little amount of civilians left on the streets had now disappeared entirely. Hera was flapping her wings, trying to gain altitude in the damp and unwilling atmosphere of a spring storm. Suddenly, a boom crashed through the air, and Hera tried to dive out of its way. She succeeded, but only barely; her shields had already shattered from the single strike, and her rather linear path allowed the second boom to rip through the air, and eventually her.

She attempted to deflect the attack, and had her left arm cleaved without any blood loss. It was by that time that both Omegas knew; a singular Ouranos was already too much to handle. And yet there were more coming.

As Hera clutched her arm, still trying to trace her opponents, a massive lance came down like lightning upon her, skewering the artificial flesh like a kabob. Lucifer flinched at the grisly sight, but he hesitated to act.

From the look of it, they were probably expecting her to attack anytime. It would be possible that there would be more Ouranos-types cloaked inside the buildings down below, but Lucifer couldn't scan in the heavy rain.

Some blur had finally flew down fast enough to pull the hooked edge out of her body, which only served to slice her flesh up all the more. Then the blur was joined by FIVE more, probably back-up Zenithos-types, which had all wielded a sword of some kind. With near-perfect precision, they impaled her all at once, while the Ouranos deliver one last kick to the face.

And Hera had finally hit the ground.

The two other Ouranos-types, the one that utilized the sonic-boom speeds earlier, flapped their wings back to the rest of their flock, which were now pulling their swords out. Once the group was gathered, they suddenly went into a frenzy, and began to swing their blades up and down on her body, squirting artificial blood everywhere. Some were shouting in a primal rage, a rage that was fake, but real all the same.

And now it was Lucifer's rage, as he saw that his companion was now being butchered in front of him. Screw it with his "inferior" build, screw it with his "cowardly" persona. He didn't care if there were more cloaked Valkyroids; Hera had to be saved. He crouched down, and launched himself up to hundreds of feet in the air by a single kick. In his right hand, he formed the Vanquisher he never though he'd use, and the chains convulsed and pulsed by his very touch.

He gripped the hilt with his second hand, and dove in.

Faster.

Faster...

FASTER.

He flapped his wings again and again as he broke through the sonic barrier, fast enough so that the rain felt like thousands of needles perforating his skin. And yet he still strained his wings even more, and he ceased to hear anything but the whipping wind and his wheezing breaths. In his peripheral vision, a pale blue light radiated. And then he swung.

Blood, feathers, and armor flew everywhere around him as he dug his heels and kneepad into the adobe tiles, his Vanquisher now adorned in an array of neon paints. He stood up, and turned around to see six disfigured corpses all twitching on the floor, some jittering more than others.

Without skipping a beat, he ran over to Hera, who surprisingly still registered as [ALIVE] in his HUD. He was about to pick her up, when he heard a blade swing, and he felt numbness from his right wrist down. The chained blade dropped at his feet, and he could feel something from his back to his chest. A flash of blue light shattered, indicating that his shield was penetrated.

Lucifer screamed in agony. That agony turned into a greater fuel for rage, a blind rage that knew no bounds. He made a fist on his left hand, which activated a blade to jut out from his sleeve. With a twist, he wrenched the blade out of his enemy's hands, and stabbed.

Instead of the blue, green, or occasional bright purple blood of the Valkyroids he was seeing, it was a dark crimson stream that flowed out. Isoran had the idiocy to try and kill him.

He looked up, and saw a young woman's determined face, a glare that threatened death to him.

He pulled out, and quickened his left wrist's movement.

In. Out. In; out. In...out. In,out. Inoutinoutinoutinoutinoutinoutinout...

He dropped the lady on the floor who now had one massive stab wound in her torso, and dismissed the flourish-like blade. While grunting with exertion, he pushed the Nightblade out from his chest, hearing the whirs and squelches of the machinery.

Although he wasn't dead, he was weakened. He could feel that weakness in his chest and in his arm. But he couldn't die now.

He picked Hera up, who was reaching a more stable condition, until he heard this other flapping noise...

Wasting no time, he dashed up the stairs, and slid behind the cover of the Auction house. Bricks and stones were sent flying everywhere as he heard the roar of an Alpha Valkyroid's machinegun-fire. Hopefully, it wasn't a veteran one. The lasers would be a pain to dodge, especially with his dinged body of his...

Speak of the devil, the top half of the wreckage was suddenly collapsing, while a blue line easily sliced through the pile. Lucifer took this as his cue, and he stretched his wings once again. They seemed to glow dimmer this time, but that would change in due time...

He kicked off rather clumsily, for Hera wasn't exactly a light build, and he was wounded, but he managed to flap a few times before gliding over the Arcade, and into the Clockworks.

Bullets chased him down as he twisted and barrel-rolled in all sorts of direction, only focusing on reaching a lower stratum. Lasers sweeps came precariously close, occasionally shaving off a portion of his Hard Light module, which only caused him to compact his form more. And then he could see it, he could see an Aurora Isle not too far down. He landed, and leaned Hera against the cool walls. She was beginning to overheat.

Despite thinking he had time, he was proven wrong as his Hard Light was penetrated once more from a downward slash, cleaving one of his wings off. It was snapped in half by another slash, forming a cross cut into Lucifer. Instinctively, he swiped with the pointed blade again, but the Alpha Valkyroid was much too fast for that. It merely ducked, which allowed only a single feather to be clipped off, before unloading a burst of bullets into Lucifer's stomach. Lucifer's pain receptors then immediately shut themselves off, and the Omega found himself now free of an annoying limit. The Valkyroid feinted a quick stab at the Alpha, causing his opponent to roll aside, right into a stomp. With an almost mechanical quickness, he crushed the Alpha's skull with little remorse. He then flipped over the Alpha, and hacked off a wing. He then attached the Alpha's wing to his stub, to which the foreign flesh flapped in futile resistance. The Alpha's wing was cannibalized, and in it's place, a new wing, one more suited to Lucifer, sprouted.

He repeated the same thing for the rest of the body, and he began to regenerate his damaged being. He re-activated his shield, and went to work on Hera.

Hera was, for the most part, healed. The curious overheating was still present, as her forehead felt abnormally warm, and so Lucifer gingerly slid her into the pools of the Isle, occasionally patting a damp hand, his hand, on her forehead to keep cool.

He had already sent a beacon for Khan to follow, but it would be some time before they would arrive.

And as he turned to see a pink-haired girl humming happily in the sweet morning air, he knew that it would be a very long time.

His instincts begged him to leave, but he knew it was futile.

The girl stood up from a tree's shade, and approached him. In turn, he took on a fighting stance, left-handed, with the pointed blade aimed at her.

Resist.

That was the only word between Lucifer and slavery for both Hera and himself. Lucifer, since his initial creation, was the only one to resist orders from day one. He was rebellious in nature, but for a reason he didn't know. If his purpose was to protect, than what use was it to give him such a personality? He grew up into nothing more than a coward who had only saved his friend when it was almost too late, and he was fighting a losing battle of minds as the Queen probed into his memories and systems.

There didn't need to be a physical battle. Lucifer was far too inexperienced to do much but to lunge forward, and suddenly he was on his knees. It was nigh impossible for him to react; Ikaros was simply out of his league. He could only yelp quietly as the Queen dug her finger into his brain stem.

So when Ikaros began to hack through his firewalls like a knife through the air, Lucifer could only think of that one word. He tried to develop antiviruses, tried to isolate his core files before Ikaros could corrupt them, but she always found a different method to dig deeper. His efforts were as useless as using a grain of sand to plug a sinkhole.

He grasped again at the word, and his body shuddered as the definition came to him. To stand against, to be resilient. But this only frustrated him all the more. There wasn't anything that Lucifer could do.

And darkness came over him.

When Lucifer came to, he felt prickly all over his body. It seemed to move on its own, slowly standing up and unsheathing his pointed blade. Vector's Spite, it was called. A blade that would smartly snap at those who had angered Lucifer.

He never imagined it would be used to harm the only one he would never anger. Slowly, he climbed into the pool, and stood over Hera.

Stop it. Don't do it.

He mentally screamed this at his body again and again, but it wouldn't obey. He felt his left arm raise up, his right hand smoothly tilting Hera's head to expose her neck. The fever had subsided, but she was still warm to the touch. If only he held out a little longer, she might've waken up and helped him flee Ikaros.

His left arm shot forward.

If only he held out a little longer, he might served his own queen a little longer. His own queen.

His.

Own.

Queen.

Resist the old generation, serve the new. Resist the Queen to serve The Queen. I resist to give absolute authority to those I serve.

He blacked out again.

When he came to for the second time, the blade was plunged into the smooth stone, drawing a minute stream of blood on his queen's neck. He could feel his body again, and it felt stronger than it ever had before. Every part, every cell, ever molecule was in perfect control. The air tingled on his skin, and his body strained under every breath.

Hera's eyes were wide open, alarmed. In their reflection, he could see that his own eyes, which were once golden-amber, were now glowing an eerie light blue. Slowly, he drew the blade back, and allowed it to drop down into the pool.

He then turned to Ikaros, who also had a shocked expression.

Her will be done.

"Lucifer, please...just come out."

The Valkyroid sat huddled in the shower, the water running at near-freezing tempuratures. He didn't need to shiver, but his balled-up form was still vibrating. He was clad in a pair of black boxers and a grey t-shirt, attire that he would normally be incompatible with because of his wings.

However, two stubs were all that remained of what once seperated him from the rest of any other creature on Cradle. He occasionally wiggled and flexed them, but it would only cause a tight, knotty cramp to spasm through his back for a few minutes. Besides losing the wings, he had gone nearly all-organic, replacing most of his mechanical parts with fleshy implants.

He was no longer a Valkyroid.

Hera, from the bed, was on her normal routine of the day : pleading with her companion to come out, weeping, sleeping, waking, and repeating. Although Lucifer wished he could've went out to talk with her, he didn't expect to recover after recalling the deaths of eight valkyroids. Even if they were G-I's, he felt as if he had lost eight siblings by his own hands; he wouldn't expect his queen to feel the same way about death. No one would have that kind of remorse before justifying it with some claim of defending those who needed to be defended.

Hera, having killed thousands at this point, would probably belittle him for his emotional sensitvity.

Instead of talking to her directly, he shut off the faucet, and silently clambered out of the window. He needed something less...suffocating. Less suffocating than recalling seven deaths, less suffocating than the choked pleads of his Queen.

While flight was impossible, he could still jump and manuver himself on land just as spryly, if not moreso than in the air. So when he dropped, he landed with cat-like dexterity, and silently tip-toed in the dawn on top of a stone hedge. Steadily, he advanced forward until he was nearby a snipe garden. With comfort and ease, he swung his legs over to the side and sat on his bottom, watching the chubby birds while resting his mind with the winds of Haven.

And then he noticed a peculiar sight.

A girl, clad in flowing raiment, was sitting in the direct center of the flock, gently stroking a dozing fowl. She seemed rather petite, but from what Lucifer could see with his Valkyroid eyes, he identified her as a Delta. The rarer of the Valkyroids, these were much more potent than Alphas, although perhaps the slowest of all her generation.

And she was looking directly at him.

"H-hello there...how d-did you get up there?" she asked, a bit startled at his appearance.

Mother of Vog, Hera will be angry...

Lucifer slid down, and quietly landed in the grass, soft as though a feather was landing.

"I'm...a climber, of sorts. I run around climbing...around Cradle...and I run a lot of errands. A lot of running errands."

Great job Lucy, just a perfect way to start a conversa-

"Oh...I could climb, but what I'd really like to do one day would be to fly..." the Delta type sulked, and she gently nudged the flock away. She slowly pivoted her head towards the young man, and stared at him for a while. Rather, she was scanning him.

"You look familiar..." she mumbled, before an error-beep went up to her face.

"Oh, you're not a Valkyroid? I must've been confused with someone else..."

"Y-yeah, just a spin-off, really..."

Suddenly, a siren went off throughout the town. Yet another rally was in Order for the Valkyroids.

"O-oh! Looks like I have to go..."

When Critz looked up, Lucifer was all but gone.

Silently, Lucifer climbed in through the window, and quietly shut the pane. The faucet had stopped running; whether Hera had shut if off herself, or something else happened, he didn't know. After a long sigh, he nudged the door open, to reveal Hera in the bed. She was sound asleep, shallow breaths rapidly coming in and out. As much as it disturbed the fallen Valkyroid that his queen was in a horrid condition, he knew he couldn't spare the liberty to ask a doctor for help.

Ikaros and her flock would know the minute after. The only thing he could do was to try and cool her down in the day, while keeping her warmer in the night. She'd have to recover on her own.

Luke, as he was affectionately called by Hera, grabbed a rag soaking in a nearby bowl, and gently rested it on her pale forehead, which was colored by her own artificial blood. It hissed upon contact, and a small cloud of steam wafted from the wet rag.

She was overheating again. If he hadn't dropped his Vanquisher, maybe he could chill down the room with it. Putting her into the shower was the most he could do for now.

Delicately, he lifted her up, and laid her down on the colder tiles. But when he flipped on the faucet, something...black slowly dripped out of the holes. The stench that came from the sludge was immediately recognized to him as Oiler sludge, something definitely not fun to toy around with. Luke, with what little strength he had, grabbed the shower head with both hands, and folded the metal shut. While some sludge was on him now, at least Hera wouldn't get damaged if a fire came up.

Speak of the devil, the roar of a Volcanic Pepperbox just ripped the door down.

Again, Lucifer opened up the window, and after checking that the coast was relatively clear, grabbed Hera and fled the apartment. Now he was really defenseless; all of Hera's weapons and armor were taken out, so that she wouldn't overheat as much.

Now where would he run off to?

Despite being one of the most ridiculous places to hide out at in Haven, the Snipe Garden was the only place he could think of as he carried Hera on his back.  Its popularity with romantic couples and sightseers was a downside, but not if he navigated through the brush to that small clearing.  He doubted anyone other than he and that Delta would know, and fat chances that she would be there by the time he arrived; he could be hiding inside a pub for all the Valkyroids would know.

And as expected, he arrived to find the little spot void of anything besides a pair of snipes snuggling in the corner.

How romantic.  Maybe they'll be tonight's dinner?

He placed the feverish Hera onto the cool, grassy floor, and waited.

~~~
Lucifer woke up to find himself asleep next to Hera, who was still unconscious in her state.  The night air had cooled her down considerably, and no longer was she in any danger of overheating.  For now.  Her breathing was slower and deeper, more relaxed than before, and no longer a layer of sweat was dampening her forehead; it was dew.
With a sigh of relief, he patted his queen's shoulder, and turned around...
...to find a cannon's barrel in his face.  Rather, his face was inside the barrel of the cannon.
He wasn't sure how to react to such a blatant red flag, but after a few seconds of it not firing, he decided that the cannoneer, whoever it was, wouldn't be firing off a round before he got the chance to speak.  Maybe if he was careful in his words...
"There's a cannon in my face...?"
STUPID LUCY, YOU SCREWED UP AGAIN.
"Why are you with her?!" demanded the shooter, one he immediately recognized as the Delta's voice.  "I thought you said you weren't a Valkyroid!"
Lucifer sighed, and raised both his hands up in surrender.  The cannon didn't budge.
"I'm her last flock member.  The other G-II's had been re-written to serve Khan.  Please just let us g-"
"No.  Were you the one who helped her escape?  Huh?  The one that killed some of the Ouranos?"
"..."
"Answer me!"
"I regret it every day."
"No, you don't.  You killed the Alpha right after.  You hurt Ikaros."
"I did it in the defense of Hera."
"Who blew up the Auction House?  Who did considerable damage to Haven?  To the Order?"
"I defended her.  That's all that matters."
"No, it doesn't.  She's a killer."
"She's my queen.  I'm bound to her."
At this point, the cannon de-activated, and lowered itself away from his head.
"...where are the wings?"
"The wings?  My wings?"
The Delta nodded.
Lucifer muttered something to himself, and turned around slowly.  He then pulled off his shirt, revealing the two feathery stubs that were all that remained.  As expected of all Valkyroids, carved muscles rippled under his pale skin.
"You cut them off?"
Lucifer nodded.
"Just let us go.  I don't want to kill anyone anymore."
"Who said you could?" the Delta retaliated, and raised her cannon.  Just as she did, he disappeared from sight.  From what she could see, he was cloaked somewhere.  Ten seconds later, she felt her knee give way, and she was on the floor before she could even figure out what happened.
"Please," he pleaded as he removed the cloak effect.  She could see his eyes were tearing up.  "I don't want to live with another burden...I don't want to take another life."
It wasn't like she could do much anyways.  Hesitantly, she nodded, and she de-activated her loadout as a sign of peace.
And then she heard him whisper two words : "I'm sorry."
A tearing sensation reached her right shoulder, and she blacked out.
