Chapter Eighteen:

One of the six titans knelt, and about twenty Gremlins came out, in helmets, and a armour bearing the symbol of the Crimson order. The unsheathed their weapons simultaneously, bring out their gigantic axe. They stepped forward, just past Theta’s firing range, then barked, “Yield!”
Rose snarled, grabbing her Eclipse, but Kyrie grabbed her arm, halting her. He pointing at Carter, who was unconscious, with Alfred trying to revive him.
Rose threw her weapon on the floor in disgust, and the others mimicked her action. The lead Gremlin smirked, then walked over to her, when she kicked him in the groin. He fell, and Rose charged, yelling, “Theta! Get Carter and get out of here! Warn the Spiral Order!” She summoned Eclipse, slashing through waves of Gremlins. One managed to land a hit on her, it’s axe penetrating her armour. She screamed, then used the butt of her scythe to knock the Gremlin down, then kick at it’s face. While she was distracted, a pair of Crimson order guards advanced, trying to knock her down when she jumped, surprising the guards. Her backflip made her land behind the pair, and she killed them with a burst of Blackhawk fire. She glanced at Theta, they were already at the exit of the factory, approaching the elevator. While she was distracted, a Gremlin slashed at her, making a huge chest wound. She winced, then glared at the Gremlin. She lifted her Blackhawk, aim... and fire, before collapsing on the ground, laying in a pool of her own blood.

“No!” Kyrie yelled, being pulled back by Edo. Alfred was carrying Carter, who was still unconscious. “Let me at those bastards!” He yelled, trying to get free of Edo’s iron grip. He turned, and bit Edo’s arm, but received no response. ‘what in hell?’ He thought, then deactivated his arm blades. He smashed his hand to Edo’s face, causing him to falter and wince, and Kyrie took the chance to run back to Rose, activating his arm blades. Edo chased after him, tackling him before he reached the factory entrance.
“Kyrie..... You’re our Squad Leader now, whether you like it or not. You’re coming with us.”
“Rose is your squad leader! Why didn’t you go and try to save her?” He screamed at Edo, face red with frustration.
“Because Rose ordered us to inform the Spiral Order.” Edo said, pulling Kyrie back, deaf to his pleas.
Kyrie moaned, then slumped, helpless.
Carter and Alfred had reached the Elevator, and began to wave them over urgently. Carter was not doing good. They entered the elevator, and pressed up.

“Where...... Where am I?” Rose muttered, and tried to sit up. It hurt when she did that, so she quit it.
“Where are you? You’re in a cave.” A familiar voice said, and a figure stepped out of the shadows.
“Fang? What are you doing here?” Rose asked in bewilderment. “Are we dead?”
“No.” Fang chucked, “As for me being here, I’m saving you. I’ve gone renegade.”
“Why? The Spiral Order is good now.” Lying down while speaking was uncomfortable, so Rose attempted to sit up, and succeeded. She sat, propped up by a wall.
“They tried to..... make me stronger, smarter. Better.”
“So? That’s good, isn’t it?” Rose asked.
“Except.... to do that... I would have to give up my memories and emotions.”
“Oh...” Rose said, looking down at the floor.
“I should have taken Hahn up on his offer.... but I kept thinking about you.”
Rose gulped. This was an awkward moment.
“So I escaped.... and then I met you here. I patched you up, but I needed to....” Fang begun to blush.
“Needed to what?” Rose asked, but she already knew the answer. He would have needed to take off her clothes.
“I’m very sorry, alright? I just.... I didn’t want you to die.”
“Oh, it’s okay.” Rose said in a timid voice. Was she really THAT fierce when facing the Gremlins? And so..... soft with Fang and Kyrie?
“Well, I’ll be bringing you to the nearest elevator, then I’ll continue.”
“Where are you going?”
“The core. I hear the other Valkyries are there. I might be able to be accepted by them, if I can’t be accepted by the Spiral Order.”
Rose inched over slowly, then took his hand, “Fang. I need you to return to Haven. Be stronger. Faster. Smarter. It’s alright.”
“It’s not alright!” Fang said, agitated. “I don’t want to forget you.”
“You won’t forget me.” Rose said.
“Yes, I will. They’re going to erase my memory.”
“You won’t forget me. “
“I don’t want to!”
Fang started to say more, but Rose leaned forward, then kissed Fang. Then she pulled back, leaving Fang speechless.
“You are NOT going to forget me.” Rose said firmly. “You are going to remember me, and that kiss.”
“What if I don’t?” Fang asked, like a little boy.
“Then you’ll have to remember this.” Rose threw herself on Fang, then begun to kiss him, hard. So hard, Fang was stunned for a moment, then he grabbed her head, then kissed back.
When they broke apart, there was an awkward silence, broken by Rose, who said, “You have bad breath, Fang. Honestly, do you brush your teeth?”
Fang just stared, then walked to Rose. He leaned forward, his lips brushing hers, then he begun to kiss her forehead, then trailing down to her ear, exploring her earlobe.
Rose’s breath was gone in an instant, and she started to mutter, “Fang... maybe this isn’t such a good ide-” When she was interrupted by Fang, who started to kiss her neck, sucking gently at the skin.
She sighed, then turned to kiss Fang. Do you have feelings for Fang? Rose recalled Kyrie’s question, then answered it mentally, “Yes.”

Kyrie sat in his room, occasionally glancing at the spot in his bed where Rose was supposed to sleep in, sometimes. ‘She’s dead.’ Kyrie thought miserably. ‘She’s dead and it’s all my fault.’
He sobbed into his pillow, feeling very alone.

Rose snuggled into Fang’s sleeping bag, with Fang by her side. As she rested her head on his shoulder, he put his arm for her as a pillow, his free arm hugging her close, then wrapping his wings around them, acting as a double layer of blankets. Rose smiled as she slept, feeling very
at home.

Chapter Nineteen:

Kyrie blinked, then sat up, as sunlight streamed from his open window. “God, fuc* you!” He yelled, right at the window.
“Kyrie, please refrain from swearing.” A familiar voice said.
“Fuc* you, Edo! Fuc* you and your fuc*ing orders!” He yelled, then felt his eyes glaze with tears.
“Kyrie.... It’s time for breakfast. We need you.” Edo said, patiently waiting outside.
“Alright, alright. I’m coming.” He called, his voice muffled by his pillow, then he stands, and dressed into his Ash Tail Coat, and strapped his arm blades. He opened the door to find Edo sitting on the floor, standing up after seeing Kyrie.
“Kyrie. I’m sorry for abandoning Rose..... I’m just following orders.”
“Yeah, it’s okay. I’m sorry I hit you.” Kyrie mumbled, then held out a hand for Edo to shake.
Edo stared at it, then shook it. Edo turned, and walked to the cafeteria, with Kyrie following him, happy that he and Edo finally reconciled after yesterday’s incident.

“Report, Theta.” Feron ordered, sipping from a mug, glancing out the window.
Edo scooped another bite of scrambled eggs into his mouth, then mumbled, “Sir..... We lost...”
“We lost Rose.” Carter finished, glancing at Kyrie.
Rose’s expression was impassive as he bit into a sausage and swallowed.
“I see. Vitals and Beacons located her at Depth 27. We have a soloist going, so you might as well join him. Good luck, Theta.” He glanced up, when he saw Kyrie pelting towards the elevator, with Theta in chase. He sighed, then muttered, “Relationships...”

“Hey, Rose, wake up.” Rose felt someone shaking her, then she pushed it away. Two strong arms grabbed at her, and made her stand up. “Rose. I got somthing to show you.”
“What?” She snapped, then she realized holding her up was Fang. “Oh, I’m sorry.” She said, her hand touching his cheek.
“It’s okay. You’re always like that when you wake up. Now, c’mon.” Fang said, then he hugged her tightly, extended his wings, and kicked off. They were flying, together, when Fang landed on a tree, the branch creaking slightly.
“Woah.” Rose whispered, looking at the scenery. It was aurora isles, and in front of them was a beautiful garden, along with a few sleeping Chromas and a dormant Tortodrone.
“Yeah..... Look, there’s something I wanted to give you.” Fang said, taking something from his back. It was carefully wrapped.
Rose slowly took the wrapping out, then pulled the dress out. “Fang? It’s beautiful.”
“Not as beautiful as you.” Fang said, then leaned forward and kissed Rose. She relaxed, and put her arms around Fang when she heard a familiar voice say, “Rose?”

“Rose?” Kyrie said in bewilderment, looking up at two familiar people, kissing as Rose held a dress.
They broke apart, and Rose and Kyrie made eye contact. Kyrie blinked, and his mouth opened and closed like a fish without water.
“Oh, Kyrie.” Rose handed the dress back to Fang, and slid down the tree. She wrapped her arms around Kyrie, stroking his hair. “I missed you....”
Kyrie felt her arms go around him numbly, and he pulled out of her embrace. “Everything you said to me is a lie.” He whispered, looking at Fang. Fang’s stare was blank too. “You like him.... not me. You kissed him, and you got a dress from him. I bet you’re going to wear that when you’re having sex with him, aren’t you.”
“Kyrie..... calm down...” Edo put an arm on Kyrie’s arm, which he shrugged off.
“Kyrie, let me explain.” Rose whispered, her voice fragile.
“You don’t have to bloody explain. You like him, and you don’t like me. Everything you said was a fuc*ing lie!” He yelled brandishing his arm blades.
“I’m so sorry.... I’m so sorry.” Rose whispered, cupping her hands around her nose and mouth, as if trying not to breathe something in.
“No, I’m the one that’s fuc*ing sorry for making you endure me. So there. I’m fuc*ing sorry!” He yelled, his face wet with tears.
Fang slid down the tree, and put an arm on Rose’s shoulder. “Maybe we should leave, let him calm down.”
“I’m calm enough, you failed experiment. Feron told us all about you! You escaped not because you don’t want to lose your memories! It’s because you’re a failed experiment!” Kyrie yelled, being held back by Alfred and Edo, Carter gripping his Gran Faust in case anything went wrong.
“I’M NOT SOME KIND OF EXPERIMENT! I’M A REGULAR ISORAN! NOW YOU SHUT THE FUC* UP, AND CRAWL BACK INTO YOUR STUPID HOLE, YOU POMPOUS FUC*!” Fang yelled, Rose holding his arm in an attempt to stop him.
“HOW DARE YOU! YOU’RE A POMPOUS FUC*, YOU BITC*!” Kyrie flung Alfred and Edo away, swinging a punch at Fang, sending him staggering backwards.
“OH YEAH? LET’S SEE HOW YOU LIKE THIS!”Fang roared, firing at Kyrie with his Polaris, sending Kyrie flying and hitting a tree.
“Hey! Stop it!” Carter said, holding his Gran Faust in front of him.
“Or else what? You’re going to help wolf-boy here fight his battles? Aww.... Carter helping little wolf-cub fight his battles while he drinks milk...” Fang mocked, when Kyrie flung himself at Kyrie, slashing him across the chest.
“GOD FUC* YOU!” Kyrie yelled, as he inserted his Iceburst Brandish into Kyrie’s stomach. Filled with adrenaline, Fang didn’t feel a thing, as he fired point blank into Kyrie’s face, the blast exploding.
Kyrie’s neck snapped back with a sickening CRACK!, and Alfred and Edo ran to him, checking for any injuries.
“I said, enough!” Carter snapped, “Under the orders of Lieutenant Feron, I now arrest you, Fang. Rose Hawthorne, you are coming with us.” With that, he swung his blade, a dark spirit flying towards Fang, making a makeshift cage.
Fang roared, and shot at the cage. It flickered, and disappeared. He yelled, “FUC*ER!” once more, glanced at Rose, his expression softening, then flew away.
Rose was sitting there, sobbing into her hand, not like the person she was when she took down the three titans.
Carter went over to her, and put a hand on her shoulder, “Rose, you’re coming with us. That’s an order. Everything’s going to be alright.”
As Rose was led back onto the elevator, with Alfred and Edo carrying him, she couldn’t but help think, ‘No. Nothing’s going to be alright.’

Chapter Twenty:

“Okay, what happened?” Feron asked, pouring a cup of tea into Rose’s cup.
“Well.... I liked Kyrie, but then I like Fang too...” Rose mumbled, sipping her tea.
“No, not your relationship. What happened in the Gremlin Factory.”
“Oh, that.” Rose blushed, then said, “I held off the Gremlins...... Then I fainted. When I woke up, Fang had healed me. Then the squad found me.”
“I see. Kyrie’s in depression right now. Beating up a punching bag.” Feron said, casually, while dropping stirring his tea.
“Where is he?” Rose said, putting down her cup.
“Oh.... Advanced Training Hall, Tier 3....” Feron said, glancing at his computer screen, and turned back to Rose, who was already pelting down the street, shoving people off the sidewalk.

“God, that [scrapping] [bucket]..... He better die.” Kyrie muttered, as he stabbed at a training bag, then backflipping to stab another. He flung his arm to slash at the ‘CONSTRUCT’ training bag, but then it got stuck. He growled, then detached it, flinging his other arm blade at the training bag. The with a snarl, he begun punching the training bag. he became more agitated as he thought of Rose and Fang’s kiss, and he begun to punch harder, then kick, and was about to bite it when he heard a door open, and Rose stepped in.
“[Scrap] off, you [wheel].” Kyrie snarled, and begun to punch at another training bag.
“You’re bleeding.”
“Yes, and you’re not here.” He said, then pried his hands off Rose’s.
“Kyrie, you have got to stop hurting yourself...”
“And then what? No one cares about me.”
“I care. I like you, a lot, Kyrie.”
“You lied. Everything, a lie!” He bellowed, pushing Rose away.
“He’s really a failed experiment you know. I could tell. One of his abilities was mind-reading. He knew you wanted a dress, so he stole it from Haven. He knows you like him, so he rescued you. He tried to read my mind, but I resisted. It somehow reflected and I read his mind. He won’t die, you know. From my stab. He’s near immortal. He can heal himself.”
“Then why is he a failed experiment? He’s like perfect.” Rose came closer to Kyrie, pulling his arm blades out of the training bag.
“The emotion thing? That’s true. He doesn’t want to give up his emotions. Still likes you.” Kyrie said, pulling the blades from Rose’s grasp. “And just so you know, I changed my squad. I’m in the new Omega squadron.”
“Why did you do that?” Rose asked.
“What did you think? I didn’t want to face you.” Kyrie said, exiting the training hall.
“Hey Kyrie?” Rose said, running after Kyrie.
“Yeah?”
Rose grabbed his shoulder, turned him, and kissed him.
Kyrie grabbed at her head, then kissed back.
When Kyrie pulled away, Rose said breathlessly, “Now we’re even.”
“Yeah.” And with that, Kyrie exited the training hall.

“Seems to be some kind of disturbance in the Gremlin Factory you just destroyed the Titans in. Recon reports show that they’re making some kind of Roarmulus twins, except portable this time. I’m sending you, Theta, and Omega squadron, to shut down their operation.”
The two squads nodded, then stood on their respective elevators. Both rumbled, and went down. A few minutes after, there was a sudden stop, a SNAP!. The elevator lurched downwards.
“Grab something!” Rose yelled into her comm, both to Omega and Theta. There was a sickening crash, and the two squads were tossed into the air, and came back down.
“God, the cables were cut. Might have been the Gremlin Stalkers.” Carter moaned from his corner. “Leg’s injured.” While Rose came over to check on him, she heard Kyrie’s reply.
“Two dead, me and Primalis are ready to fight. Stand back.”
There was a BOOM! And the door in front of Theta opened, with Kyrie holding it. “Come in.” He grunted, and Theta climbed onto land.
“Alright, we got casualties, but we’re here. I say we go on, and beat the crap outta the Grems.” Kyrie punched a fist into his waiting hand.
“I say, we bury the bodies, then fight.” Rose said, “They’re Spirals, after all.”
“Well, I’m the squad leader in Omega, and I say fight. Bye!” Kyrie was off in an instance, with Primalis running after him.
“Alfred, follow them. Keep in comm distance. Edo, help me with Carter. We get a Crystal Energy bandage on it, and it’ll be fine.”
“Alright.” Alfred grunted, grabbed his guns, and ran after them.
Alfred followed them, then arrived at a factory, with sign markings, ‘TOP SECRET.’
“Stupid of them to write that.” Kyrie laughed, and slipped inside. What he saw, shocked, and disturbed him.

It was a machine, churning these black creatures out, the ones they encountered before, the Swarmettes. And sitting next to the Gremlin in charge, sipping tea, was....... “Fang? What the [scrap]!”

Chapter Twenty One:

“Well well well.... if it isn’t my favourite person. Kyrie.” Fang sneered, and raised his hand. Immediately, Kyrie was raised up to the air, choking.
“Wondering how I got this power? I let the Swarm inside me.” Fang smirked, and flung Kyrie away, into a crumpled heap.
“Stop it.” Primalis ordered, raising his Leviathan blade, and swung it down at Fang. Fang dodged, jumped and with one sweep of his Fang of Vog, set Primalis aflame.
Primalis yelped, and dropped to the ground, trying to extinguish the fire.
“Fang, I’m sorry, but this has to end.” Alfred raised his guns, and fired. The bullets slammed into Fang, and bounced back, smashing into Alfred, making Alfred fly into the air.
“Fang?” A feminine voice appeared, and Rose’s head popped into the room. “What in the?”
Fang beckoned to her with two fingers, and Edo, Rose and Carter was suspended in mid-air. “Theta squad. All demolished with one of my hands.....” Fang purred, walking right into Rose’s face. “Or..... I could let them all go, if one of you stays...” He raised a hand to Rose’s chin, and Rose jerked it away.
“Fang. Let us go.” She ordered, her voice quivering.
Fang closed his eyes for a moment, read Rose's mind, then grinned, “Really? You want to do that?” Fang asked in mock amazement.
Rose blushed, then tried to kick at him, “LET US GO!”
“Now now.... don’t get angry.” Fang smiled, then circled Rose, his hands touching a small on her back, then tracing down to her butt.
Rose blinked, then kicked at Fang.
“Rose. Kicking is wrong.” Fang tutted, grinning at Rose’s chest. “How ‘bout we just do the kicking in bed?”
“LET US GO!”
“Well, if you put it that way.” Fang raised his hand, and Edo floated to him. “I might even let him go to heaven.” He pushed a blade into Edo, and let him spontaneously combust.
“No!” Rose cried, resisting. She kicked Fang, which sent him staggering, his concentration wavering.
“Attack!” Carter yelled, and leapt into action, despite his bad leg. He swung his blade, and a dark spirit crashed into Fang.
Kyrie jumped to his feet, then clawed at Fang’s face, while Alfred shot bullet after bullet into him. Suddenly, the air around Fang exploded, sending everyone flying. Alfred flew right into a wall, his neck making an awful cracking noise.
“Alfred!” Rose cried, then threw Eclipse at Fang. It connected, then stuck in his chest.
Snarling, Fang shot a bolt of dark energy at Rose, who dodged it easily. Rose lunged, grabbed Eclipse, and swung. She missed, and Fang took this advantage to shoot a dark bolt of energy at her, sending her flying.
Fang got to his feet, smiling triumphantly, until he saw Rose’s chest move slightly, then stop completely. Alarmed, he scrambled to her, then pulled her head to him, “Rose... please, I’m sorry! Don’t die!”
What Fang didn’t know, was that she was pretending. Smashing her head into Fang’s nose, she swung her scythe again. It hit Fang, and sent him flying. Fang got to his feet, snarling when Kyrie leapt onto him, slashing at everything he saw.
Fang grabbed his sword, and parried his blows. Sending a powerful push, Kyrie stumbled, to which Fang stabbed his sword, straight for his heart.
It connected, and melted the armour and the flesh. Primalis blinked, then looked down to his chest. He had jumped at the last second, saving Kyrie. He blinked once more, and fell.
“God fuc* you!” Kyrie yelled, hitting Fang. Fang staggered back, then grabbed something from his belt. It was some sort of bomb, and it started ticking once it met Fang’s hand.
“No one leaves here, ALIVE.” Fang snarled, “Either one stays, or all of you die.”
Kyrie absorbed the words, then pushed one of his arm blades to Rose. “Go. Bring Carter, and anyone surviving. I’ll stay.”
“No.” Rose protested, pushing his arm blade to him.
“Compromise. I’ll stay.” Carter muttered, staggering to them.
“NO.” The couple said.
“Fine. I’ll stay, and escape at the last moment. It’s the only chance we got.” Kyrie said, pushing his arm blade back to Rose. “Promise me you’ll be safe.”
“Promise.” Rose mumbled, and kissed Kyrie.
“Ugh. This is making me sick.” Fang smirked, and jumped Kyrie. Kyrie parried, and pushed Rose away.
Rose walked first, then ran. Carter followed her, staggering.
“Let’s finish this.” Fang said, unsheathing his Fang of Vog.
“Yes. Let’s finish this.” And with this, Kyrie threw his arm blade, right into Fang’s bomb.

A deafening BOOM! rocked the factory, sending Rose and Carter flying. Debris flew around them. Rose felt tears threaten to slip, and she turned her head to wipe them. Carter noticed it, then hugged her. “It’ll be alright, Rose. It’ll be alright.”
