This new update's got everyone in a tizzy, from arguing about the economy to how the crafting/forge system are great, horrible, a crime against humanity, and everything in between. Actually, I haven't seen the community around here so divided since... well, I wasn't around for the Auction House update, but from what I've heard about it, that was pretty bad. I'd also compare this to the Shadow Lair update, but let's face it, that one wasn't as dividing as this update is.
So touching on a few points I've heard argued on the forums over the past week:
-The supply depot sale is going to send the economy down the toilet, due to merchants not being able to trust the value of items over time.
Countering this, we have 'Items are meant to be worn as shinies, were never guaranteed as never coming back, and weren't meant to be hoarded'.
Then we have 'The crafting system and forging system are the worst things since unsliced bread, change it back'. Going against that is the argument that 'Now you can play Spiral Knights without having to spend a cent, which is what the game is about, right?'
And of course, the pro-pet forumers finally have their wish with the Battle Sprites.
More now than ever, I find forumers, in-game friends, and even friends that left the game long ago questioning the future of Spiral Knights. All points are being argued for and against, such as the potential of this 'crippled' economy, the future of gameplay and content, and of course, exactly where is all that content that we were promised? Tortodrone, Slooms, and the Core, I'm looking at you!
So my question to you, the forumers, is not what you think of updates past. My question is, if you could bring 3 things into Spiral Knights into the future that might help to save the game in any way, shape, or form, what would they be and why?
I'd remove the new user interface or make it optional.
I'd bring back mist energy.
I'd get rid of the forge.
If I could have four, I would bring health revives back, but those are the main three.
