Many of you are whining about this new patch
Great for you, go get some counseling for your problems or something, maybe some robitussin can help
But the thing is, this stuff is actually needed for a game to thrive
You've all just been used to being able to get whatever you want so easily, and now that you can't your angry, thats understandable
But in games, there needs to be a balance between whats rare, and what easily obtained
It used to be, get all 5* in a couple weeks, when thats the best gear in the game, we can't have that
The energy does seem high to craft, but it needs to be that way
If you strolled into the game as it is now without playing it, you'd probably think it was actually balanced
I hated it at first, but after a while I realized its right, and about the binding thing
Honestly, yes, they should've warned us first at the least, with all this crafting and leveling business stuff
A lot of people lost what they were paying for, thats bad, but its also to keep players who can buy tons of CE from getting a free boost
The line between CE players and free players is drastic right now, and since a lot of those players tend to be a little lazy(from what I've seen) they do nothing and gain everything
That is why the binding was put in
And now theyre putting in the unbinding process, which will be helpful too
To get your A grade equips, you'll need to pay double, because for one, the cost to unbind is involved, and two, you didnt level it at all
This overall is a good addition to the game
~Kymroi~
(and I made this because it adresses the new unbinding process as well, thus equalizing and proving you guys need to STOP WHINING)
Why we should actually agree with this new patch
I actually agree too. While it costs more money to buy the item, it costs ~~the same amount to make it yourself. NBD.
unbinding will be perfect, satisfies everyone: allows endgamers to sell high level gear, and still allows rich ****s to buy their way into endgame, for ALOT more
It equalizes it out
If you have the money, go ahead and waste it if you're lazy
If you wanna work your way up to it
Spend half the money but take more time to do so
Its as simple as that
you are trolling.
Patch is bad very few things good about it and alchemy costs are unreasonably high.
The alchemy costs balance out with the reduced recipe costs if you are under the assumption you are only crafting for yourself.
And if you are crafting for someone else post-unbinding patch, just charge more.
You're trolling cuz you're angry, and want more excuses to be angry! Or maybe you're not, and you're just misguided.
It balances out. QED.
No it does NOT balance out,
It has been nullified. Teh price of ce will rocket and inflate.
This patch is the WORST thing to happen to this game.
It takes over $10 in ce to get 6 5* items, it's not balanced.
It would of been more balanced had they just lessened recipe costs because then crowns had their sink, and ce had theirs, but noooooooo they messed it up by making the crowns USELESS again and INCREASING the CE sinks.
It's not balanced, not by a long shot.
Mai searign raej haz coold down, i egreez wit OP.
It also doesn't balance out EVEN NOW. (20k less for recipe; 500ce (25k) MORE in crafting; 5k-10k MORE for recipe due to lack of basil invites)
It also doesn't balance out EVEN NOW. (20k less for recipe; 500ce (25k) MORE in crafting; 5k-10k MORE for recipe due to lack of basil invites)
Thank you someone with some math and sense instead of fanboism.
No one is taking into consideration the going prices of ce per crowns either.
It's NOT balanced, it's so far out of whack.
If you consider that subtle, your definition of direct would be akin to Rambo dual wielding nuclear bazookers trying to kill a crippled cockroach.
It doesn't balance out if you just bought a 45 k recipe, and now have to spend 45 k to craft the item.
You keep noting the "growing price of CE"
Since the patch came out, the price of CE went from ~4.95k to *gasp* ~4.91k!! OMG RUN INFLA... wait what? it's gone down? How is that possible if everyone keeps posting about it rocketing up?
Look for yourself.
It's stable between 4.9k and 5k, just as it was *before* the patch. And sure, the net price has increased by about 100CE from before the patch (and it sucks if you bought and learned a recipe within the 2-3 days before the patch, but that's a small amount of people...), but that's nothing to rage and moan about on the forums. That's a very small amount. I'm sure if they'd left the recipe prices the same and increased the crafting cost by 100CE to deter crafting a bit and explained that that was why, sure some people would be a little disgruntled but it wouldn't cause all this whining and griping.
And if you don't want to pay the increased prices of recipes at AH (which I think is dumb that it's so much more, and that they won't be selling like that for long) then talk to friends who dungeon, ask them to buy for you (via mail) which happened before the *teleport to basil* became so common anyways.
Or, fancy this, go run the dungeon yourself! The levels before basil, on any gate, don't take more than 30 minutes to run anyways, so burn your mist by running down there a couple times.
It's really not. that. bad. When I said it "balances out" I was rounding a little bit. I personally don't think 5k crowns or 100 CE is a huge deal anyways..
Also to your comment about crowns being useless...
Auction house currency is in crowns, with a huge sink in fees (which I actually believe should be lessened at least a little bit). So people are converting more and more of their CE to crowns in order to play the AH.
Crowns are more useful than ever, especially now that we can't just buy the gear ourselves, which makes the crown sink of recipe-buying more of a legitimate factor.
@AB You do realize that a lot of players are waiting/boycotting the game right?
Please explain.
The market is all sorts of messed up right now and can't actually normalize because the numbers are down, the player base is down. Until, people return to the game you can't be going around say that everything is just fine because cr/ce hasn't risen, you have to give it time. Players are reporting a DRASTIC decrease in the amount of people and groups in dungeons.
People are mad, feel betrayed, are boycotting, everything is all messed up and will probably take a few days to get back to normal.
...That we can't say that it's good OR bad (the effects, anyways)
I personally agree with the motivation behind making the items more rare, which is why I say it's good. I personally believe that the prices really didn't increase that significantly, but did make the items more rare (which is good). So if the prices didn't go up drastically (which is what people are saying is bad) and the prices of CE didn't go up (yet) (which you were saying is why it's bad), what is the basis for your argument that the game got worse?
You're shooting yourself in the foot.
I'm not shooting myself in the foot, I'm waiting to see what happens. That is just a prediction whereas you are saying it's all good.
It currently is all good, so my observations are due to the status quo. Your predictions are based on nothing except... the trend for the first hour after the patch came out? When everything was in turmoil? My predictions are based on the trend now that it's settled to what (is currently) stable.
And with more players, the price of CE generally decreases because there are more buyers so it is less scant, and since crowns are currently more valuable (more incentive to recipes, huge crownsink with AH) than they were before, I see no reason why CE prices should rocket any time soon, unless the playerbase sorely dwindles.
I wasn't even around the first hour the stupid thing came out, I was happily enjoying my 24th birthday with my lady friend. We played Mortal Kombat, then she left and I got on to see the hell that had become the forum and this stupid patch. A fine bday present indeed!! >_>.
I will not disagree with you that thinks are currently OK, HOWEVER, we do not need to be going around saying "The patch is fine, stop your whining." The majority are inclined to disagree.
We also don't need to go around complaining about how the patch ruined the game. That gives other people that same very negative idea. We can speculate (intelligently, and calmly) about how it might get worse, but complaining and whining and predicting the end of the world does nothing for anyone. It's Fox news, it's fear mongering. It helps nobody but the beast that is fear of change itself.
If it starts to spiral out of control, note it, bring it to suggestions forum, make sure Eurydice or somebody responds.
Please, be helpful.
And no, the 9 page thread filled with "F*** YOU OOO" and "MY ENTIRE GUILD IS QUITTING" and "THIS GAME IS GOING TO $***" helps nobody. Please, kindly, refrain. Thank you for agreeing with me that it's currently okay, and being civil about it.
Waste of bullets shooting feet, aim for the knee instead.
Happy late birthday Godofskype1!
Anyways, you should realise that many veterans are quitting. Magnus organized a boycott himself. You had better know who Magnus is.
^Knee's already crippled, won't do you any good.
I never flamed up in that thread either. I waited to see what happened and then I made my post. I have been quite civil despite this MESS.
Happy late birthday Godofskype1!
Anyways, you should realise that many veterans are quitting. Magnus organized a boycott himself. You had better know who Magnus is.
So it WAS Magnus that ordered the boycott and arranged it...man he was a bnp, yes I'm aware of the legend that is Magnus. Also thx it was mostly a good day at least offline..
I talked to Magnus in game and he didn't seem to rage so hard after I brought my arguments to him.
And he's been inactive for a couple weeks before now (in game, not on the forums) anyways, so it's not surprising that he's not playing, still. haha.
<3 you Mag, even though you're so mean most of the time :)
Nah it's that or the shoulder, Knee and Ankle (Ankle would be 400000000000x worse than the knee IMO) would be permanent damage, I'm not so vindictive, I'm happy to inflict temporary pain. A single bullet on average is only like 23cents anyway, I can spare that.
Somebody tell me who Magnus is, no-one has ever told me, but I'm curious to see what warrants all the brown-nosing.
Magnus? Isn't that a three-star gun?
What's so good about the Magnus?
Auctually. It's "auctually". Fix pls kkthx. :D
Wow even someone who argues so aggressively claiming others have no-life, etc. boo, wah, complaining about booing and wahing is reduced to a snivelling pile of subordinate jelly, he must be one explosive lay. Bro I'll go get the whip if you like, save you some time (now I jest).
WAHKAHTISH!!!? (you try typing a phonetic like that out).
..Relative to the people who were complaining so hard. It was hard to stay COMPLETELY calm when confronted with so much overreaction.
fu(t)shhhh
(t) being very very very small impact 't' sound
I need to come up with some prolific quote like "A man can be measured by his ability to remain calm amidst a sea of Chaos." or something along those lines, get myself killed and hope someone puts it in a book. Though I understand the temptation to be like raaaaaawrrr I will devour your brainnnnnnnn.
I must've watched too much Power Rangers, the sound of slicing wind to me always sounded like whishhhhhh
Whoooshttiiiiish?
Gotta start with the "f" I think
Think about how you make the whip sound when a guy is whipped! It's like fuh-(c/s)hhhhhhhhh
See it starts with a W for me. Can't shake that W.
Wait, crafting a second copy of an item costs more than crafting the first? Where'd this come from? It's not in the patch notes, and doesn't actually seem to be happening.
CE costs did skyrocket at the patch... and then suddenly calmed down and returned to pre-patch levels by the following day. I know for sure it never passed 5500 Cr during that time-- I put up some energy-sale offers at that price and they didn't sell.
Also: I shoot Tenderfoots.
PEOPLE
Damnit, this game isn't supposed to be easy
Your not supposed to get everything you want in the game in a week
If everyone had full 5* gear in 1-2 weeks, then the GMs would have to super boost through updates
Giving crappy content from lack of time
This update is good because it takes more time to get what items you need
This way, you can choose to buy CE, and get ahead a little through selling, or using your own time
This isn't pre-school guys, stop whining just because you can't get things your way
And this isn't a troll thread >_>
I was just bored and posted again
Wait, crafting a second copy of an item costs more than crafting the first?
No, crafting a second copy post-patch costs more than crafting a second copy pre-patch.
All the big name players and most active are not playing atm. essentially everyone willing to spend thousand of CE to stimulate the market are gone.
thus dungeon runs are down drastically so ur left with mostly causal players that only use mist energy. That is why CE prices are not inflating.
Although that also means once the addiction for this game wears off with time or gets substituted by another game., those active and big name players probably wont come back again
And as for you people raging...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usUbwY1EqJQ&feature=related
the unbinding feature probably wont work to well simply because it would double the prices for 4*-5* items.
You have to craft it and then pay a fee equal to crafting it again lol. there wont be an incentive to pay that much for them.
thus there is no market at all lol
Then that means people will want to make it themselves
Or browse the market for nice UV items that are low star
Its a simple system that works
not really, because if the unbinding feature is not effective then we are back to square one.
most of the casual players will never reach tier 3 because of the sheer amount of dungeon running you need
to pay for the 5* and 4* sets. even if they do reach it by some miracle, they wont do well unless they can fully upgrade
everything to 5*. The causal players are a large segment of CE buyers bc alot of them dont want to put in the time but they are willing
to put in the money as long as its not an absurd amount. With the new crafting requirements and anti trading rules of 4* and 5* items
that profit segment is going to go away. Now you are left with the hardcore and non CE buying casual players. the casual mist energy players
probably wont stay too long simply bc when they get bored of the game they will move on. Since they dont have any actual money
invested in the game it will be relatively easy for them to let the game go. Now you're left with only the hardcore player's CE profit segment.
I just don't know why OOO would cut into their own profits.
Some of you have some very thick blinders on..
"No, crafting a second copy post-patch costs more than crafting a second copy pre-patch."
Yeah, that's what I thought. I saw someone put some numbers in another thread saying that every craft after the first was worth double CE, and then a strangely worded post in this one that sounded like it said something similar.
Searching...
Oh: Found it. It was in reference to the "pay more CE to unbind" proposal.
...So he used math to pretty much point out the exact purpose of the proposed patch: make unbound 5* items more expensive than ones you craft for yourself.
Okay then.
This post by Vitek (post #17) from the dev response thread to me sums up the whole debacle caused by the patch"
"One major issue is that your definition of "challenging" is actually just "expensive". The only way your going to make "rare" items anything other than just expensive is to have some sort of loot dropping system similar to other MMORPG's. As it is now every item in the game is a simple matter of how much real world money you want to spend. The system is flawed at its very core. The only variable you are going to be able to "tweak" is how much money things are going to cost. Your last patch simply made it more frustrating and time consuming, not to mention more expensive. I do not know how that fits into your long term goals, but I can tell you right now your really going to have to get creative to dig yourselves out of the design holes you have dug into your system."
Thank you Vitek!
Also copied and pasted from a post i made in the feedback thread (post #425)
"This [patch] all was done in the name of keeping people from buying their way to end game but instead has alienated the crafters and guilds who took pleasure in providing services for those willing to pay for them.
This "patch" has only successfully stalled the end game and dragged the process down to a crawl especially for F2P. Where Three Rings could have added in desperately needed content and/or final bindings at only 5* (making crafters happy and making people actually play the game for awhile before end game) they instead stretch the already thin game play to a dangerous level that will bore veterans who achieved end game started playing just to craft.
I think the lesson here is just running down the list completely nerfing everything is a terrible solution. It is the the cowards way out of the problems at hand, many of which have been solved in reasonable ways by a very involved and passionate community."
