So these Morai people... and this Isora place... what are they? And, why do we assume Isora is a planet?

Writer's Block.

Since there's very little actual lore to the game, it's best advised to just make it all up for yourself. That's why the SK lore is so unique: The community writes it, not the devs.

Although this usually factors into a multiverse thing.

You answered your own question before you even asked it. :3

In all seerusness, Isora seems to be the SK's home planet according to some of the missions, and the Morai are some enemy of the Isorans outside of Cradle. Those are the hard facts.
