And yeah Iaena that's pretty

And yeah Iaena that's pretty much exactly what l said all the way up there last week. It gets slightly annoying when you give advice and it just seems to completely get ignored but gets listened to when someone else says the exact same thing.

ok,ok, swords..

@ fayeth: umm, you missunderstood me before,i didn't mean that i could beat strikers that way, i meant to then focus on recons/bombers

ok,fine so i will switch back to swod instead of gun....well anyway you guys said a slow sword would be good, well i only have 2: WRH or triglav
which should i take? i can handle wrh better than triglav, but triglav has a better charge and good knockback

so back to this setup: merc set+VT+SS+wrh/triglav later BAB
trinks: penta,later boom focus

I HOPE this is at least OK.....

A question for Fayeth!

You recommend just bringing a haze bomb and no offensive bombs as I understand it. If so, why should one use Mercurial Demo rather than Mercurial?

Mercurial Demo resist Pola spam better than Mercurial.

Also, and this is only a minor thing, but still: I've heard people argue before that merc demo's bomb dmg bonus is wasted without an offensive bomb, but I'm always surprised how many strikers it catches unawares--the initial explosion of a haze packs a decent punch with a merc demo set's total med bonus, and particularly against those with no ele defense (i.e., those in straight skolver sets, snarby, or a mix of the two, which are who you're primarily bringing the haze for anyway). I also have a mercurial set, but I really only swap bits of it in if I'm having trouble with a striker's asi VH FF.

Iunno just do whatever makes

Iunno just do whatever makes you most comfortable, heavy swords are really the only swords that will allow you to defend yourself when someone catches you with your pants down (that's when they shoot at you long enough so that by the time your current bomb ceases to work, you still do not have another bomb down, in which case they probably will swoop in which means you won't get to put down a bomb before you most likely die unless you have a power packing backup, which really only heavy swords provide). You could use a faster, weaker sword but you'll probably die more often then you'll survive compared to having a heavy sword.

Krakob l recommended bringing mist bombs, not just the haze bomb, haze bonbs are less of a deterrent then the shock or freeze bomb as it only slows people down rather then stop them completely, some of the more competent players just run straight into haze bombs and still go to town on unexperienced bombers. As Contri mentioned, the Mercurial Demo Set gives better defense against Polaris, which is potentially the worse thing for bombers, that or a Peacemaker, both of which deal elemental damage. Mercurial Demo gives elemental defense while Mercurial gives piercing defense.

Narfle, I've had numerous kills from initial bomb explosions, so the damage bonus isn't wasteful at all as you pointed out.

Is bombing worth it?

I vote yes. Get someone in a corridor and drop a VT in front then run behind them and nitro with a bit of overlap and they'll be hit hard straight into the storm. Rinse and repeat. Tricky move though.

Merc demo looks awesomer.

@fayeth
huntr always used a flourish. he's actually pretty good at holding off strikers with the flourish. I believe he switched from using GF to using FF.

@op
i find offensive bombs quite useless. sure, they can hit a bunch of people, but with the timer it's easy to dodge. The only offensive bomb that i sometimes use is the Dark Retribution. Although it has crappy damage output, you can overlap 2-3 bombs over each other to create an area where the enemy can't even attack. the "hitstun" doesn't allow them to attack.

On another note, Dark Retribution just EATS through anybody who's unlucky enough to be charging. I've destroyed many bombers with my DR. (just walk in the cap and drop a couple DR's. that cap is now yours.)

@Fayeth

Think I said that somewhat incorrectly. I meant mist bombs. I refer to them as haze bombs and SS as swagger (storm). I was thinking you might want Mercurial against toothpicks. It's notable that it has more piercing than normal defence, as opposed to Mercurial Demo, which has more normal than elemental.

Huntr can use flourishes yes,

Huntr can use flourishes yes, but one: he has a 4 bar, he can effectively use a flourish, not many people have 4 bars, l'm from Australia myself, using a flourish is almost impossible, l've combo'ed a guy point blank with AA toggled and l still missed every single hit. Two: Huntr is Huntr, he was the best, you shouldn't try to compare things with him since his skill was unparalleled, probably still is. There wouldn't be more then a few if any who can do what he can.

i will experiment

so,i will try 3 loadouts,VT+toothpick, VT+WRH and VT+triglav
i will give later some feedback about which worked best.

@jawny
I used to use DR,it kinda worked, but then people would juts storm through and defeat me with their long-range GF or DA.

toothpick, WRH and triglav

so i played a few rounds of LD and number 1 is....

toothpick:
1. It is fast enough to hit strikers, WRH and triglav are just to slow D:
2. has a pretty good range and a chance of stun
3.it is pretty easy to defeat inexperienced players with it

WRH and trglav (were both the same so...)
1. WRH has pretty good range and a dash which helps too
2. trigav has an even better range and has an awesome charge

so in the moment i will stick with toothpick
if any1 has any argument that i should NOT use it,just post

Controls for bombing?

I use WASD + Mouse and I find it hard to use more than 2 weapons.
How do you reliably switch between weapons? ( 1 sword + 2 bombs)

I use uh Q E R for slots 1 2

I use uh Q E R for slots 1 2 and 3 respectively, Z and T for the 4th slot, just because l can easily access the 4th weapon from anywhere, if l'm for example, moving right (using WASD controls) it's easier to hit Z while holding D and alternatively if l'm moving left, it's easier to hit T while holding down A. I usually assign my backup to the 4th slot, while having my bombs in the first 3 slots.

Bombs can do something no sword or gun can: knock back a guardian.

I'm going to have to make more loadouts with Irontech or BAB.

@offense armor
use independant switching. map a key (scroll up/down works too) to each weapon slot.
