I want to know how the uv's like fire resistance , shock resistance affect the player , if you compare a skolver coat with shock med on it and a skolver coat with no uv's
I was thinking maybe the skolver coat with shock resistance med , if I equip them at different times and get shocked , will the shock end faster when I equip the skolver coat with shock reactance med ?
And one with fire rest and no uv's , will I take less song from the fire , with one that has fire rest and one that doesn't ?
Questions about uv's on armors and helmets
Say your sklover coat has shock resistance: med, shock won't last as long compared to a sklover coat which doesn't have the UV
For armors that have increased Normal protection (For example) it is better to get them at the lowest possible star rank. E.g A sklover coat with Increased normal defense when it is already at 5* won't give much extra defense. If you got the uv at 2* or 3* on the armor, the defense gives you much more defense when you craft it to the 3* 4* or 5* version.
A. Get a Wolver Coat (2-star) with a Normal: Medium UV, and upgrade it to Skolver Coat (5-star).
B. Get a Skolver Coat with no UV, and then slap a Normal: Medium UV on it.
You're saying that the Skolver Coat in scenario A will have more normal protection than the Skolver Coat in scenario B? Even though they are both Skolver Coats with Normal: Medium UVs? I find that hard to believe, but I'd love to be educated if I'm wrong.
As the item gets upgraded, the defense also increases. You really don't notice it with low but if you get lucky and get increased Normal defense: Max, you can really see the difference. But if you get it on a 5* item, you don't get much extra defense. I have 2 vog cub coats, basically in the same situation. The first one I had, I got a uv when I crafted it into the 5* version but the second wolver coat I made got the same uv. When it got back to vog, it had more shadow defense than my other vog cub coat.
So post #3 is not what you were saying? Instead you're saying that a Normal: Medium UV makes a more noticeable difference on a Wolver Coat than on a Skolver Coat, because Skolver Coat's baseline defense is so much bigger? Okay, that's not at all surprising.
If I understand right, he says that if you get an UV on a skolver/vog it would be weaker than if you get the same UV on wolver and then upgrade it to 5*.
As if the UV improves every time you level up the armor.
But I don't believe it. Need pics. And data. And testing. It may as well be a display bug without an actual impact on performance.
Now let's answer the OP:
"will the shock end faster when I equip the skolver coat with shock reactance med ?
And one with fire rest and no uv's , will I take less song from the fire , with one that has fire rest and one that doesn't ?"
Yes, status defense does that. But the difference won't be huge with just a med.
Troloe is telling the truth about it. I got a UV on my fused demo helm and you know the defense bars are different with elemental being less. I got a uv which made it equal thanks to the elemental defense. When it upgraded, it went past the normal defense which proves the fact that the uv's strength gets better as it goes up a star rank.
This is very interesting and pictures would be easily taken and provide good evidence.
I don't have the answers for you, but here are some resources.
* To understand how UVs compare numerically to "native" resistance on a piece of armor, read the wiki page "Abilities".
* To understand the practical effect of any particular numeric level of status resistance, read the wiki page for that status.
* Okay, admittedly the individual status wiki pages aren't very detailed or complete. So try reading this current thread. Also try searching Google for things like "spiral knights forums status immunity". This aspect of the game is being actively researched, and we don't have all of the exact answers yet, but we're making progress.
