You definitely CAN compare them. Warframe updates faster because it has more employees, obviously, but I'm not arguing that. I'm saying OOO should be doing a much better job at community responsiveness, using Warframe as an example of a healthy communication between dev and player.
Why all the hate towards OOO?
This is depressing, and by "this" I mean the general attitude of the thread. I've played a lot of MMOs and been through the drama that comes with all of them, but the sheer amount of personal attacks, forced viewpoints, subtle (or not so subtle) jabs at others, whining, whining about whining, and outright disregard and disrespect of each others' views and feelings within this fanbase take the cake right off of its well-polished, platinum pedestal. Toxicity is running so high here, we will all be wearing hazmat suits before long.
In regards to all of the venom spitting at tweeter because of his frequency in posting, what is the big deal? So, tweeter is chatty and enthusiastic about the game and the community, and if he makes a thread that covers some of the same topics as other threads out there that aren't and haven't been active and wants to bring a new idea into the discussion that he honestly believes would be beneficial, a new thread is probably the best way to go in my opinion. As far as this OP goes, I see the theme of it to be different from other threads that have been made on the subject in that it I interpret it to be a push for the community to get its act together and gain some composure rather than simply being an apologist rage fest that throws down anyone who doesn't worship the devs. Now, I think that some of the OP feels like it is talking down to those reading it, but I doubt this tone was intentional. In short, yes, tweeter is incredibly verbose, and yes, some of his threads can be repetitive, but should we launch verbal assaults on him for it, most certainly not.
There are so many more things that I would like to say regarding the many problems with the attitudes of the people in this thread, but in doing so I'm afraid I would become part of the problem. Just try to get your act together, think before you speak, and try to understand that people may not be intending to sound the way that they do when they speak. Some people may come off as mean and/or angry when they weren't intending to be that way at all, I know because that is how I am most of the time, people will think I'm angry because the way I tend to phrase things often gets interpreted as trying to be edgy when, in reality, I try to be as neutral as possible most of the time. Just remember that the person on the other side of your message is a person with a life, emotions, and personality quirks just like you. So step back, take a deep breath, internalize what lies before you, think, and then try to act with kindness, regardless of how you are being treated.
I leave you all with this video of a gremlin in a washing machine
Why is there so much hate for OOO? Nick? Is that you?? Alot of people are unsatisfied and pissed off due to the fact that well erm... THERE'S NOTHNG NEW. Lack of content, no new bosses, no armor or weapons, no new levels. Jesus Christ it's been almost 2 years since we got Shadow Lairs, and that's about it. Ok Battle Sprites are not too bad, but you're missing the point. If OOO really listened to Customer feedback, they'd be doing a lot better now. I'm really bored with SK. Same old FSC grinding, no End game content. The Danger missions were great at first, they actually proved to be a challenge but now they feel old.
I still remember when i first started to play SK. It was great, fantastic. There was so much to do. But after becoming a Vanguard, getting 50k Prestige and doing SL over and over again, it's become super boring. If OOO wanted to really please us, they'd try something new. They'd make their own Spiral Knights themed events, constantly update the game, give us new missions, etc. But we're not getting any of that at all. They promised us The Gunner update for November, but it was pushed back to January. And they finally announced a new tier boss, yep singular not plural.
I'd like to take the chance to compare Spiral Knights with Maplestory. Maplestory is regularly bashed for being a 2D game, but guess what?? Nexon is doing a far better job than OOO has ever done. They even announced Maplestory 2 earlier this month. See? They're not afraid to take chances or risks. Maplestory is constantly being updated with new Classes/Jobs, new quests, new levels, a map which you can fit Haven a hundred times over. New bosses, new equipment, revamping the whole game.
OOO on the other hand is just copy and pasting the same old thing over and over again without giving it a break. Right now, i'm completely disappointed with Spiral Knights. It's just plain boring. When i see news of New, Interesting content, i'll gladly come back. But right now, Nexon is just giving me more and more reasons to stay.
But of course, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. What i say doesn't really matter. I might not be satisfied with the game or the developers but some other people might be satisfied with them. Anyways, GG.
Thank you for that lovely statement. I agree with it 100%, and I know it's hard for people to understand how the other one is talking because this is plain text instead of voice or body language.
While I have been laying off on making threads, I'm still very afraid to do so. Wondering what Rezzler, Dragneel, and Septicraven (he's actually okay IMO. not as hostile or critical) would make of it.
It is understandable to me that everyone has different viewpoints and opinions as seen here, I am open to hear everyone's thoughts about things as long as they're not offensive or critical in any way. if it is critical, I would veyr well like it to be constructive.
One thing I MUST say.
People who are complaining about content and responding, REMEMBER.
There are about 15-20 working on this game! (last time I checked.)
You can't compare it to many of these other games like Warframe (over 200 people working on it)
Even though Path of Exile had 18 people in 2012, but they also raised a TON of money to fund.
Spiral Knights have neither of these advantages.
So… You can't really compare them.
