I've had the same problem for ages, and the only thing I've found works is that I have to open it in the Steam overlay.
If you're not a Steam player however, I am afraid I have no ideas. Sorry.

Could very well be your browser/firewall is blocking it if that link doesn't work. a lot of ".mail" and things like that sometimes are set up to be auto blocked. If you know how in your browser/firewall just change the settings or try another one and see if you have the same result.
