Repaaaaaairs, repaaaaaairs

Matthew stood mute, watching the pyre burning. He felt very much the same way he did at the very beginning. Except now, his friends weren't leaving. Now, it was complete strangers. Dead. He had never thought to speak to any other knights, but now they were gone. Just, gone.

Reality had it's ways of showing itself. It's cruel, ugly face scarred all who looked upon it. Matthew could feel all these familiar emotions flow through him. Sadness. Shame. Regret.

All Matthew could do now, was stand, and mourn.

Matthew looked down to his equipment. And fix my Booster.

The Knight walked off, looking throughout the entire group of knights, hoping to find someone capable of repairs. Matthew decided he would head directly into the Shadow Lair afterwards.

((Getting first post on a new page scares me for a moment sometimes. ;-;))

((OOC: School is still a thing for me, sorry for the lateness of my post.))

After a quick trip down, Quote found himself in a treasure vault, with a seemingly endless supply of confetti raining down.

"Sweet! Easy, quick, Bit of stocking up and... Aw. It's already been ransacked." Searching around, he found barely anything of interest, aside from a handful of crowns, a shining plethora of crystal, and only a few kleptolisks who tried, and failed, to pickpocket his empty belt. Not really anything useful for what he's doing. "Well, at least that means I'm only a bit behind them, these things are generally restocked quickly." He quickly hurried to the elevator and headed down to depth 20.

((Will tomorrow, I need sleep. Note that I'm only speeding through this because catching up is boring with nothing to do.))

Gradus sighed in a condescending manner at the arguing Ranger and Gremlin.

"Y'two are going to argue til this depth falls apart. Here, lemme explain some stuff t'ya. That explosion was a self-d'struction mechanism; the elites of the Mender would use it when they were captured. Obv'sly, they don't want you to look at what that body had. Even so..."

The mender walked among the human ashes and plucked out a ash-covered strip of clothing. It was less than a centimeter in length, but that was all he needed.

"There's ways to find out. Now, let's go to the elevator already; you two are going to bleed to death."

Preceding down, Quote came

Preceding down, Quote came across a candlestick keep. And proceeded to groan. "I hate these, especially since it's fire." He started trudging through the darkness, hoping that he could find the elevator soon so he could move on.

After wandering a bit, he saw a group of people by the elevator. Is that them? I hope so, this has been irritatingly uneventful. Quote waved to them, "Is this that group that was going to fight the swarm? I heard of it a bit late."

((I might be an hour till I post again, I have a weird rash that needs to be checked by the doctor.))

Following Jurak

Gwen just shrugged at Jurak's outburst and followed him quietly to the elevator. She shot Gradus a cute wink before the elevator descended.

As it did so, Gwen turned to Jurak and asked, "What was that all about? I didn't quite get why you were mad."
__________

Some lonely soul in the ranks of the mercenaries had a problem.

A big problem.

His leg had become Swarm-infested from a Wolver bite, and from the looks of it would have to be amputated. But he knew (or thought he knew) the Commander; Solomon figured he'd be shot dead if word of the infestation ever got out. So he kept it quiet, hoping they'd head up to Haven soon so he could get some REAL medical care.

Fat chance, he mused. Desert? Nah, that'd almost be worse.

Almost.

The Aftermath

With a grumbling tone Skotino sat down in the massive chair looking over the battle field. Thou it was a mess with the Chemical weapon he used, there was no telling what this could do to the others. It was with hast everyone was told to get there masks and helms on. Their suits sealed up tight to prevent any further contamination.

Daud walked around the wounded, he knew better then anything what needed to be done should infection hit. Skotino on the other hand gave a different order, 'Should you find some one infected help them.' It was cruel to say out loud what should be done, even with medical treatment from the field medic's down here, there was no way anyone would be able to reach the top in time for proper medical treatment.

Damnit Skotino, why do you always gave me the 'fun' orders. What ever, at this point its a hindrance to the mission. And anyone who is a hindrance is as good as dead.

((You have it back works. Daud will kill some one on sight, Skotino will at least try and help.))

Hooking the now repaired Striker Controller to it's proper place, Matthew walked off towards the Gate Four elevator once again. It had never broken in the past, which made it strange that it decided to shatter now. The attacks certainly didn't feel more powerful.

Perhaps it's the dark energies, or something like that.

Walking over, Matthew bumped into someone. A Mercenary, just a tad taller than himself, and the standard Darkwatch Uniform. The Knight seemed worried, somehow. Matthew did a bit of guesswork on occasion.

"Oh, sorr..."

Matthew's voice trailed off as he looked over the Mercenary once more. His leg was wounded? Definitely more than enough reason to be worried.

"...You might want to get that fixed."

Saying that, Matthew walked away, towards the lift.

Not in the mood~

The elevator vibrated slightly, as Alexander stepped aboard the platform. With a subtle exhaled breath, he slumped down into a sitting position by the side of the Elevator, the large "?" illuminated on the monitor above him. The Ranger pulled the goggles over his head, as the overlay kicked into life. The red setting displayed yellow crosshairs displaying everyone's position, and where they were most vulnerable. Alexander fondled around the side of his head, finding a button. Upon pressing, the visuals turned from red to blue, displaying a series of Green flatlines, pulsing with heartbeats. Casting his view to the back of the room, his final Recruit's heartbeat was silent & flat.

Alexander pulled up his goggles, cursing under his breath, "Bloody Almire".

He got up, supported by the side of the elevator, and paced toward the back of the room, a solemn expression on his face. Passing by everyone without reaction, even past the supposed new-comer that no-one has reacted to as of yet, he stood before his motionless recruit. Kneeling down, he rummaged inside of his recruit's armour, pulling out a set of wolvertags and placed them into his coat. Still quiet, the Ranger turned on his heels, and walked back through the hallways.

Taking off the goggles, he tossed them to the old gremlin, remarking as he paced past.
"Hold onto these, Ive got to see to a few things Im not particularly looking forward to".

Alexander walked to the elevator, and took out a comms link. Switching on the reciever, he tuned the channel to Recon HQ.
"Hello?"
"..."
"Yeah...I-I know..."
"..."
"Look, just patch me through to Desna, thanks".

He was not looking forward to how this conversation was going to turn out.

Sorry for the awkwardness.

((Yeah, that was an awkward and hard to work off of start. Sorry, let me try again.))

No one seemed to notice Quote, so he tried again. That was a bit awkward, it might be a good thing they didn't hear. he thought as he walked to a closer, and more visible spot. "Um, hey, what's the point of this group? Would you not mind if I joined?" Besides, even if its not the group I'm looking for, there really wouldn't be much difference if I DIDN'T go with them. It's just easier with more.

Jurak said whilest making his way into a corner to inspect the device. He hadn't seen one of these since the wars.

Molpos's blood lust

After seeing the Dreadnaught falling down, Molpos remembered the joy of killing a tough foe and then saw a knight he never saw before coming to the group. Molpos thought about attacking the knight. His blood lust started to peek and then he tossed his saw blades at the new knight before rushing towards him with his blade. Only shock can stop Molpos's blood lust.

Heated Discussion.

Alexander was in heated debate with Desna about the mission's tunrnout, when he heard the sound of blades flying behind him. Turning round, he saw one of the knights launch themselves toward the newcomer. About to hang up, Desna made a remark on his poor performance, making him stay on the commlink to retort.

"My Performance?! It was you lack on intel that got us killed!"
"..."
"Oh no, Dont twist this around, you told me to cover them. Its a bit hard babysitting when you have MULTIPLE DEADNAUGHTS BREATHING DOWN YOUR NECK!"
"..."
"IM NOT SHOUTING-" Alexander clears his throat, before continuing, "Im not shouting, Im just stating you cant pin it all on me".
"..."
"You know they would have died faster with anyone else, they knew the risks of being a Ranger, besides, shouldnt you be taking this out on Intel-"
"..."
"Oh really? How long a suspended service?"
"..."
"Okay, Okay...Look, we-um-I ran into some different enemies, some teched up mercs. Could you do get some research on any mercs that use gremlin tech?"
"..."
"Okay, that was when sorry?". Alexander, struggling to hear Desna was getting annoyed at the commotion. Unholstering his rifle, he took off the suppressor, allowing it to let off its full sound upon firing. A moment later, the Ranger fired a shot straight upward, the sudden sound, resonating loudly through-out the narrow hallway.

"Could you all be quiet? Im trying to have a conversation!"

WAIT WE HAVE A HACKER!

//Forward_Command c:/Tech_Viser/Memory_pool

Starting up Terminal Connections to voice promps...
...
...
...
Termination of command started.

The Screen on the Elevator changed from its large ? to that of a Skull and Crossbones. The sound of the Visser and its Online connection kicked it sending a voice message from an unknown hacker of the system.

"Operator online. It seems you managed to kill number 28, shame. Well you know what this means, I have to change your destonation path below. Starting up platform reformation."

The Console changed to what looked like a CMD screen as line of Gremlin code was seen running across the screen. Sirens went off as the Keep started to shake. Crowns fell from there hidden mounds as well as the wall starting to fall a part. This Hacker was either crazy or skill for he was shifting them back from Level 20, to Level 19. As the Code went on it was looking more and more like it was coming from the one place though to be completely out of reach...

The Master Control Room.

"Well I hope you all enjoy your next Two levels. Also, don't for get I will be watching so just give the Operator a call if you get in trouble."

The voice said, it was clearly the sound of some one with too much knowledge and time on there hands. Yet, if he did have control of the Master Control, they were in trouble. The way in was said to be lost for ever, even the Gremlins don't remember where the entrance is. As soon as the Hacker's voice was gone, the sound of a noble's voice came forth followed by the shadowed image of eight Knights sitting around a long table. At the far end a Cobalt Knight spoke.

"It seems you are a skilled group and it may come down to something we need from you. As you saw our resources are rather endless when it comes to getting in contact with people. No, for killing our Gun-Runners we should take your lifes, bot an idea came to us. We need help getting rid of a man who current runs the Mercenary group called the Darkwatch. If you would be so kind as to kill him, your reward would be endless. That is of course if you could do it for us."

Merciful Endings.

Alexander, seeing that his shot had not had any noticeable effect, other than a distressed Desna on hold, he decided to be a tad more direct in his approach to keeping the peace. As he loaded a round into the rifle, he trained his eyes onto the movements of the crazed Gremlin darting toward the new-comer. Lifting his rifle with disciplined resilience to the pain shooting through his arm, he tracked the beast.

"Good men get treated...", Alexander murmured, as he took the shot, a flash of silver travelling at high speed toward where the target would be, lined up with the lustful Gremlin's head. The round continued on target, a subtle crack as it impacted the skull of the Gremlin, the force sending it's limp body hurtling into the newbie regardless. The Ranger motioned a cross from his head down to his chest, then across his shoulders. A sudden pain exploded from his right side, as the strain from another shot with no support other than his own body, erupted downward. The recoil from the shot had dislocated his arm. If ever he needed to take another shot, there was no chance in heck he'd be able to do it without supports. He remarked one last comment before getting grasping his limp arm.

Good men get treated...Dogs get put down". Alexander looked down at his comm which was practically vibrating from Desna's voice. Not wanting to deal with her at that moment in time, he hit the power button, cutting off the angry leader. Not knowing how much of a punishment he'd get when he saw her next, he called over to the new guy.

"You alright?". Before a response could be recieved, a voice boomed behind him from the elevator. Turning around he muttered, "Oh Bllody Almire, what's happening now?". The words resonated through the halls ~.

"Operator online. It seems you managed to kill number 28, shame -..."

"Bloody heck!" It was one thing to try to kill a medic; it was quite another to shoot his team, AKA his now patients. Gradus was a medic, and one with a rather short temper as well.

"Vog in his blaze, you're all goin' to shoot each other's hearts out!" He started to point a finger at the ranger, looked at the gun, and decided not to. With a little flash of his wand, the bullet exited the Gremlin's body, and the flesh began to close, but the nerves remained damaged. With another wave, a little semicircle of physical light appeared around him, if he decided to attack again. It was mostly for show; the thing would shatter in a hit from a Dust Bunny, not even mentioning a highly trained Stalker's throws. But the said Stalker had a head injury, and those were pains to heal. More than one Gremlin was still in the mental asylum from hits in their noggin.

"Y'all right? Not going to slice my sternum apart?"

Before Quote's bullets could

Before Quote's bullets could hit, another man's bullet hit him in the skull for a grave blow. Quote felt sadness, but it was dampened from experience and the knowledge that that man was going to kill him. Ugh, how could I not feel sad for him? With that hit, he's barely alive! his sadness was made more at this thought.
The shooter asked him if he was alright.
"I-I gue-"
Quote was interrupted by an unknown speaker, who was apparently able to reorganize the clockworks, and he did such. Annoying. A shadowed vision of 8 men at a table came on a screen, and one seemingly dressed in cobalt offered a proposal.

"O...Kay. I barely understood any of that, but that part I did understand, I don't like." Quote mumbled under his breath.

((Is that roughly what happened, or did I misunderstand something?))

Hallucination and Eve's Intro

After suffering the bullet wounds, Molpos's mind suffered an Hallucination. However, in the real world, his eyes where closed. "Urgh, where am I?" Molpos looked around and saw what looked like the Hallucination leader. "Oh No, I need to awaken and fast!"
Just then, the hallucination leader spotted Molpos and said "Well, well, well, Molpos the betraying Gremlin." Molpos got concerned and then said "Who are you?" The Hallucination leader then said "Now that would be telling but let's say this, you won't awaken."
Anyone who was looking at Molpos would be hearing him talking to himself...

Eve walked around the depth and collected the remaining books she didn't read before and walked back to the computer. She started reading the books which where about Hallucinations and how to stop them.

Getting lost, are we?

Gwen, meantime, began to explore the level. Leaving Jurak to his quirky computer work, she stepped around a corner and into a long hallway. Small, intricate carvings lined the walls, seemingly telling elegant stories in a foreign language lost to the eons of time. Heroes and villains battled for supremacy in the painted images, while great leaders fought with words and wits between the lines. She could not read the text, but found the story exciting nonetheless.

She continued walking the hallway, perusing the strange symbols until she hit upon a dead end. Ha ha, this is no dead end; of this, we can assure you. Gwen gently touched the wall and picked up dust on her fingers.

Her eyes narrowed. She brushed off a little more dust from the wall until a curious symbol became visible. It was an eye, designed much like the Eye of the Swarm. Could it be? She touched it, but nothing happened. Read the letters underneath it. Gwen squinted and looked closer. "I...can't read it," she muttered. Allow us to enlighten you.

A few moments later, she realized that she could read it. "How did you do that?" We had to invade your mind a little more. Surely you do not object? Gwen chuckled. "Not at all." She leaned closer to the script.

DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU MUST DO?

She thought for a moment. Do I see what I must do? No...wait a sec... She cleared her throat and said simply, "I see."

And the wall opened up.

A simple elevator platform revealed itself to her. This is interesting. I wonder where it leads? She stepped onto it and glanced at the controls. Interestingly enough, unlike the digital controls on the surface elevators, these controls were analog. Apparently, they hadn't been updated recently. This elevator clearly doesn't see much use. It didn't take her long to find the descent button. It was a little rusted, but nothing physical force couldn't overcome. She punched it, and the elevator sputtered to life.

As the delusional Gremlin talked to himself, the probably delusional-by-now Gremlin thought about how to proceed.

Head wounds are unpredictable, and tampering with them is even worse.

Since his medical knowledge would do nothing useful, he resorted to the practical. He calmly walked up to the Gremlin, took a look at him, stepped back, and...

Krakow. The Gremlin was knocked flat on his back, and Gradus proceeded to bind his arms and legs, in case he unconsciously slashed them to death. Bandaging his head wounds, he then turned to the ranger.

"How bout this, if you c'n promise to behave and not brain anyone else with th't gun, I'll fix that arm for ya." Without waiting for a reply, he took out his medical kit; using his wand too much too often had some...troubling...side-effects. He dabbed a little swab of Miracloth into some alcohol-based solution mixed with medicinal herbs, and cleaned the ranger's wounds.

"What's your name son?"

"And Vog darn it, where did the girl go?"

Actions affect the Hallucination

As Molpos was trying to look at the Hallucination Leader, he suddenly fell and felt like being bound and tried struggling to move but couldn't. The Hallucination Leader walked over and laughed "See what I mean, Gremlins and Knights don't mix, they say they will help but in reality, they won't." The Hallucination Leader walked over to Molpos and shot a bullet of fire into his fine arm.
In the real world, people saw a random scorch mark appear on Molpos's not damaged arm and Molpos yelled in pain.

To Explain

The Ranger turned to the question of the Gremlin who had graciously decided to patch his wounds, while the gremlin he had shot was talking to itself out loud. As the bandage was being applied, Alex spoke up.

"My name is Alexander Harriett. I'm a Veteran Rang-" A tender area recieved some pressure, causing the Alexander to flinch and stutter his words. Recomposing himself, he carried on answering.

"Im a Veteran Ranger who was sent down into these depths to help guide 4 of our latest initiates, on their 1st actual mission. However the events that transpired down here proved a little much for them". The Ranger reached into his coat with his left arm. As he pulled his hand out, 4 sets of dogtags, some covered in blood, were shown hanging down from each of his fingers. Without pausing for any pity, he carried on to speak of the mission itself.

"Our mission, which due to the circumstances, I see no reason to keep classified from you lot, was to locate and retrieve an artifact we believed to be in the hands of fiends up in the concrete jungle. We located it, however, it was embedded into the weapon of that Plague Deadnaught. After complications from some, we had to change our priority from recovery to simple survival. That has now led us to this point".

As soon as he finished, he noticed a buzzing & vibrating communicator going off by his side. He turned to the Gremlin, and spoke a short piece of advice, "You may want to cover your ears...my Superior isnt in a great mood". Alexander beeped the comm to answer, to be greeted by a loud condescending tone erupting through the speakers. After a barrage on his ear drums, the Ranger slotted the comm down a gap by the elevator shaft, the device clanking down the depths. He sighed to himself at the new-found calm.

"Much Better...".

The Council

The shaded group watched everything unfold from the safety of there little room. Even as the Ranger was healed and the Researcher walked off. To them, something about her was interesting enough for them to keep watching even after posting the deal. The Specialist took the moment to start writing something down and got the Gun-Runner back online.

"Number 29."

The Specialist stood up and walked out of the room, not wanting the others to know what he was after for he alone wanted to see how the girl found that passage. And more over, where she learned of it. After a quiet word the Gunslinger nodded listening to every word like it was his last.

"Understood. Number 29 out."

With that said the Marks-Woman picked up her rifle and loaded in what looked like a bullet with a Hypodermic needle. Low Caliber but a red liquid sloshed around inside the chamber of the injection. It seemed she was not on a retreavel mission, and there was no escape from this hunter's eyes.

Molpos looked at his foe and couldn't find anything noticeable about it. Just then, he saw the Hallucination Leader picking up something and it looked like a Leviathan Blade. Molpos managed to back flip and kicked the blade off the Hallucination Leader. The Hallucination Leader was extremely angry and opened a portal which would toss a part of a deconstruction zone at him.
Molpos started jumping around to move because of the bounds and saying "Stop attacking me" and to anyone not in the hallucination, they think he has lost his mind. Molpos couldn't see where he was going and if he bumped into anyone, it's not his fault.

What'll it take to shut someone up?

Gradus unsuccessfully tried to gag the Gremlin with a strip of cloth, but he was jumping all over the place like a Dust Bunny on Warp Dust. Giving up, he turned to the new stranger, experimenting with his wand to make a barrier to prevent the Gremlin hopper from hopping off the depth.

"Hallo there, sorry if we kinda ignored you a bit, but there's a bunch o' chaos everywhere." As if on cue, a bookshelf nearby fell down, mostly incinerated by the now-deadified-again Slag Deadnaught.

"What's yur name, son?"

And heck, where did that creepy girl go?

Quote, not knowing what

Quote, not knowing what exactly to do, decided it would just best to wait at the elevator and introduce himself. A gremlin meander, taking care of the other gremlin and the shooter, as if reading his mind, asked him his name. " I'm Quote, a gunner of reasonable ability, I guess. Who're you?" At least he's healing that gremlin, meaning he won't die. Probably

Quote sat in elevator.

((Wasn't really sure what else to post really. Edit: didn't notice sandwiches post, at least that gives me reason. :P))

HA! ...ha?

"Quote, the 'Gunner of reasonable ability'...Uh huh"

Jurak said sarcastically, feeling his fresh jaw and staring at the the mender for a moment before turning his attention to his Ranger

"Alexander the verteran Ranger. Mm-hmm"

Looking over to the man's collection of bloodied tags

"And a loony man with his busted robot"

Jurak let out a small sigh and reached into his bag. Retreiving his well worn crimson pipe, he lit up the end by dragging a match across his arm. Taking a deep inhale of the noxius fumes, and letting out a stream of smoke. Paused briefly before turning around

"Well, it looks like we have our work cut out for us eh Gwen?"

He said with a hearty chuckle

"....Gwen?"

The pipe hit the floor with a small clatter, filling the void where a young voice should be. How could he have let this happen? How could he let the nightmare repeat itself?

"Gwen?! Gwendolin! Where are ya lass?!"

[Depth 19: Candlestick Keep, Burning Blackout]

Looking around the Marksmen named 29 turned on the viser. Even with the other one falling into the enemies hand she was not worried. Thanks to there design they did not show another with a set on nor there vitals. Which also worked in revers so if she met the new owner she was in for a rather long fire fight.

Holding a pistol up that was loaded with a Tranquilizer clip, the rifle lined up on her back. She was down a floor in the keep and rushing to get back up. Thankfully the candles in the keep where all blue currently since they destroyed the current ruler of this Domain but that still left them with one more enemy. The Gun-Runner as they where called. The Elite of the Mercenary Gunslingers. Thou they where very good marksmen and women they all were on the same level as Rangers when it came to training thus they where used much the same way.

I left them off on the Seventh Story of the keep, so if I can find some stares they can't get down because they entered from the Seventh Story Elevator and did not follow me. Right, inferred will do the trick in the dark once I get there. The Gun-Runner though as she held her gun at the ready, expecting to find her target before she go away. Yet as the Council watched the Specialist felt more conserned the new mission was going to fail.

Still waiting the Council held the connection on the Screen of the Elevator, it seems they where getting ingored, which was fine tot he Specialist for what she needed done. As for the Cobalt Knight he was getting slightly annoyed, waiting was good but this group was pushing his limits slightly. With a click of his finger the candles in the keep started to flicker as if something was trying to put them out but couldn't quiet do it.

"Operator, whats going on?" The Cobalt Knight said.

The sound of a massive keyboard getting clicked around was heard before the man spoke. "Councilmen, this floor was been won, so I have restricted all your abilities to get more creatures in the area. Currently they are getting back on there feet. The Victors of this floor deserve a break. No interrupting sir. Operator out." The sound of clicking keys ended shortly after that. It seemed this Operator liked to play fair at least.

The Hunted

Looking around the corners the Gun-Runner found no traces of life or the undeath. As unnerving as the hunts normally where she was more head strong then her now fallen brother. Excited and scared she knew of the Ranger, but his wound was still enough to save her, or kill her should he miss his aim on her. Keeping silent she entered the same level as the other, the stairs she walked up slowly fading as if they where never there for her in the first place.

Pointing the gun forwards Number 29 took calm, collected breaths. For at this point each one could be her last, fighting against the others who where using live rounds unlike her. The alarm of her gear went off as she picked up the samples of foot prints on the dusty ground. Pulling back the hammer on the pistol she aimed forwards, at this point her walking picked up pace, but she was no where near the others yet. Even so, who ever had the other Viser would be invisible to her in a since. Visually she could see him, but when it came to aiming she would have to use her best judgement and Vic Versa.

I doubt they have cracked it yet. If anything they would have renamed it and maybe handed over to the other Gunslinger. That still leaves the problem of him understanding it, which might not take long since its designed for our kind. Damn our Engineer's, they are too damn good at building things for easy use. She though with a face of iron.

Move up?!

"What do you mean you don't know where she went?!"

Jurak screamed at Quote

"And what of you ranger?! How'd you let a lil' girl wander off in a place like this?! She didn't even @#$%^ have armor on!"

He said, pointing towards Alexander

"In a place like this..."

His voice trailed off as his mind flooded with limitless possiblites, each more cruel than the last

"Lets head down to the outpost"

He said solemnly

"We can set up a rescue team there. Nothing we can do in the state we're in"

"Hold on," muttered Gradus. "For all we know, thar could be more of those assassin blokes here, down thar, or probably even blowing the elevat'r to smithereens. Alex, do ye spot any more of those would-be murderers with that fancy goggle of yours? And even without th't, there's still two people here down for the count." He rerouted some power to the circuitry on the robot, culminating in a small spark of light. It wouldn't make the Construct magically be able to jump around and beat the tar out of monsters, but it would allow it to move, which was one less body they'd have to lug to the elevator and through the next level.

At least the rudimentary backup cells still work.

Suddenly, the Toxigel yelled out that he'd found something.

"How're we going to balance this mess?"

Tech n Go.

Alex sighed to himself, angers wanting to rise and unleash upon the old gremlin, but were kept on hold for the time being. Instead he simply relayed his knowledge of what he knew back at the accusor.

"I thought that kid was your jurisdiction, as those goggles are mine. Stop shifting the blame onto others, you old crank". Alexander, remembering that the goggles were in fact his area, walked over, and grabbed them from the old gremlin without any sympathy for his current strife. He closed his eyes as he placed the gear back onto his own head.

Moving the goggles over his own eyes, he checked to see if the configurations were as he left them. Pressing buttons, upon realisation some options were off, he flicked back to the red setting eventually, bringing up all known targets and yellow critical points. His eyes darted to the top right of the screen, as a small faint dot could be seen, moving slightly around their position. The Ranger looked toward the Mender, goggles still down, asking him about his condition.

"Grem-um...Gradus. Is my arm alright for fire-fights again? I think we have some company...".

"Well, you kinda shot a guy

"Well, you kinda shot a guy right in front of me, I was busy!" Quote responded. He heard someone call saying that they found something. Was it that girl...? no, not at all a female voice. "I'll go see what it is that he found."

Walking down a few corridors he found... a seemingly non-hostile toxigel and the elevator. Wait... the elevator was back there. "Guys, there appears to be another elevator!" He shouted.

Twisted turn

Coming across the last known place Civilian was the Gun-Runner placed her finger on the trigger, there was no telling what kind of weapons or things she had on her person. But the Specialist of the Council wanted her and that was all the Marks-women needed in-order to get her job done.

Rounding the next corner she saw the foot prints in the dust, it was destrubed with the prints of shows matching the profile of her target. Reaching down she lifted a direction, but what was odd was the fact they ended heading into a wall of some kind. Taking the goggles off for a second she was unable to read anything on the wall, but the Eye stood out clear as day.

Alright, whats going on here. Humans don't just disappear into thin air. Wait, the dust. Its been moved around, it looks like its been slid back as if a door or broom has swept threw here. Well the Kat's don't sweep so I am safe too assume this is a door of some kind.

The Marks-Woman pondered as she slipped the Goggles back on, looking in the direction of the other group. The Range was not gone from her sighs but she was able to see the others.

Right, so that Ranger wants to play games with me. With a quick flash of her fingers, she would have completely vanished from the Rangers sight threw the Goggles.

Having an adventure.

The room stank of death.

Corpses lay strewn about the room, sharing their space with the decomposed, rotten bodies of the damned. Death smiled upon the forgotten souls, having consumed his fill of the living and satisfied his lusts with their soulless bodies.

But even death had nothing with which to touch the present company.

Together with the small, pale girl plugging her nose, the Eye of the Void gazed down upon the hapless bodies with approval. This will be sufficient sustenance. The stink of death shall not remain; life will populate this realm once more. Let us out, Gwen.

Gwen knelt down and gingerly touched one of the bodies. Swarm Seed flowed through her arm, and moments later, a new Void form rose from the ashes. Someone is approaching. Keep them occupied until we have finished our task. She nodded and stepped back onto the elevator.

Gwen withdrew her staff and pressed the ascent button. Whoever they are, I will be ready for them.

Ignoring the ranger's snide comment, Jurak looked over to the source of the voice

"Hear that! She prolly went down that elevator, and if'n we hurry we can catch her."

He said with a hint of anxiety in his voice

"Comon, lets see what the lad's talkin' 'bout."

He said, walking over to the slime

Gradus closely double-checked Alexander's arm. Even as he watched, the various injuries on it slowly faded away, though the blood remained like ketchup.

"Should last for the battle. Try not to lift anything heavy though; yur not gonna be able to pry metal bars as weapons or anything stupid like that." He grabbed his Iron Slug, and put a cartridge in it. For once, he didn't nearly stumble from the weight.

Guess I'm getting better with this thing, though I still can't shoot for a damn.

"Oi!" The ConstruGremlin was wandering off. "Thar's probably dangers ev'rywhere! We've got a few guests, and I'm all out of crumpets and tea!" He glanced at the robot and the still unconscious Gremlin, then back at the slowly diminishing figure of the other Gremlin, then at the elevator. He looked at the remaining puppies and issued an order, pointing at the disabled duo.

"Direct've 137b, Primary Priority." Each remaining construct's eyes shrunk, then turned red; they were to unleash all their firepower at once at any threat. Considering how there was still a Rocket Puppy, Gradus decided he would want to not be near them when they blew.

"C'mon, let's go. Pretty sure we won't all die horribly today. Hopefully."

Alexander nodded at the approval, risking the fact his rifle was probably classed as 'Heavy', he would find ample support for it during the engagement. Checking where the the marker for the guest had gone, he could'nt find it.

"Cloak maybe?" The ranger queried, as he flicked through the other settings before coming back onto the red setting. He pressed on down the halls, to where the marker was last seen, keeping close to available cover such as old bookshelves and walls. Coming to a hallway, he spotted the slime and stuck close to a corner, taking cover from any shots that may come his way. Alexander rested his rifle on a pile of books, and knelt behind them, concealing as much of himself as possible.

The Ranger looked down the sights of his rifle, and zoomed in on various parts of the upper platforms. If he were undertaking the same tactic, he wouldnt sacrifice high ground in any situation. Following this logic, he continued to scan the area, while the rest of the group queried the slime & searched for the girl.

Found you!

Jurak carried on down the hallway, passing by the slime that had been sitting there waiting for him. As his desperation rose, he spied a distinct lack of an elevator, alongside an abundance of walls where it should be. Luckily though, a feminie figure stood was at the end of the hallway. Too far away to make out wiether she had been hurt or not, he called out to her

"Gwen! Are ye alright lass?! We're comin' for ya, don't worry!"

The old man said, with exhubrant relief and a minor amount of happyness in his tone. A crisis averted, her life saved, and his mind secured once again

Now you know.

Well, his mind would have been at ease again if he hadn't seen the crimson vein that traveled up her arm.

She was infected.

Yet the girl's own mind seemed to be at ease. She leaned on her staff and gazed into Jurak's eyes with a warm smile on her lips. "Hello again, Jurak. It's good to see you again." She straightened and stepped lightly over to his side. "You seem worried. Are you okay? Those wounds on your face don't look very healthy."

Hallucination...

As Molpos was still jumping around to avoid the Hallucination Leader's attacks, he didn't realize he was going to jump head first into a wall. A second later, he hit the wall and landed on his back and seeing the darkness coming back. The hallucination vanished. Molpos struggled to get up and when he did, he fell back down. Molpos's energy was very low and he couldn't walk, especially with all the injury's. It seems a second hit, drained all his reserve energy.

The Red Dot

Walking threw the halls Number 29 found herself in a bit of a cross fire set up. No matter which way she chose the Marks-Woman was going to have to enter a fire-fight. Since the Ranger did not know how to use the Goggles correctly, displayed by the fact she still had a line on him, the Gun-Runner saw this as a good chance to test out the Tranquilizer's pittance. Shuffling closer, hidding behind anything that could be used to conseal her self from the naked eye, and the vision inhansing feature of the Goggles, the Gun-Runner found herself in a nice range.

Lifting the Weapon up she took aim, a little red dot being the only sign she was alive anywhere, as for the source it was hidden by the blank void ahead of them. Well here goes nothing. She said to herself, then the sound of a surpressed round flew threw the air aimed at the Ranger, thou he was partly covered all she needed at this point was a little bit exposed and she had him down.

And thus, the fire fight starts...

Alexander flinched as he saw the glint of metal in the air heading toward him. With all his reaction-speed, he averted just enough to have the round embedden itself into his shoulder plates, avoiding any serious damage. He peeked around, and couldn't see any signs of movement, goggles or no. The Ranger hid back behind the wall, and started to think. While pondering at the fact he had no clear Line of sight, an idea struck faster than any round.

Reaching into his coat, he took out the remaining Tracer rounds, and placed them onto a piece of cloth. Removing the caps, he found the materials inside which created the bright flashing. Emptying those onto a seperate parchment, he gathered them all into a single, volatile round. He began loading the modified round into his rifle, reassuring his gun,

"Cmon honey, you can handle this round. Just do it for me, eh?"

The Ranger peaked around, discharging the shot from his rifle. The round flew straight, impacting on a surface nearby the Marks-woman. Instead of resulting in an explosion, the casing around the round broke, allowing the tracer's chemicals to react, creating a great flash of light in the area. The Ranger pulled down his goggles, and flicked onto a Blue setting, allowing sound to be detected. The ranger remarked under his breath.

"You move, or stamp on that to put it out, I've got you. You leave it, the others will see you and I can leave it to them to spot you".

Clicking a normal round into his gun, he remarked with a final word.

"Check".

Slightly Lonely.

Matthew was bored.

He had felt the need to rush towards the rest of the group in the morning, only to find that many others were apparently late. Many other knights suspected that the late group was not going to show up, but it had been confirmed that they were making their way towards the Terminal. Now all he had to do, was wait.

Matthew heard a slight commotion to his side. Looking over, he saw a group of Knights and Biotechs struggling to capture a few Void Scarabs that had not been killed. Even in their weakened states, it was quite clear that they did not want to go without a fight. Matthew stood up from his seat on the Elevator, and began walking over.

Nasty little things, they were. Not even measuring up to his knees, the small bunch of pests had already torn up two Knights as Matthew walked closer.

Matthew quickened his pace.

Biotechs turned tail and ran.

Matthew began sprinting.

He stopped running, and scowled at the Scarabs. Soon enough, the Void Beings had sensed his presence, and did the same. A Scarab lunged at Matthew, intending to lash at his open face. Activating his Striker Booster, Matthew pulled back his fist. Using the Booster's momentum, Matthew socked the offender directly into the cage.

The other Scarabs charged in. Rocketing forwards, Matthew swiped the ground around the Scarabs with his hand, bringing up all the dirt that had finally settled. Once they had all been thoroughly stunned by the soil, Matthew picked them up one by one, and threw them into the cage as well. He fanned the air around him.

"I hate dirt, I hate smoke... Bahh..." He coughed a few times, before walking back to the Lift. Matthew took his seat once more.

...

...

...

I'm missing out on something, aren't I?

As you wish

With a clear view now the Gun-Runner smiled as she lined up a shot into a nice exposed arm wound. As if a trained eye she fired, and just as deadly the round struck the softly covered flesh. She chuckled as she stood up and looked at him, emptying the chamber of her weapon.

"Check? Your Plan backfired, showing me right where you where dear. Enjoy your nap."

With that said, the woman walked right by him, even if he was some how away when she stood up, his body would have been too slow to react to her movements. With a soft wink she slipped beyond his sight looking for her target as she loaded up a new round. It seemed with the Ranger incapacitated at least, she could do something, but he would not be down for long knowing how they trained.
