Choice A: Find the Recon Team

Will and his team sat in command, waiting for the elevator to the Gremlin stronghold. The silence was unsays, if they faced something similar to what was at the Intel Center, the mission could be extremely dangerous.

"So," Said Doomskull, "What crazy errand do you think the Order has us up to now?" Will looked at him strange.

"Whaddya mean?" Doomskull smirked.

"Well, you're good enough to be a Vanguard, but the Order hasn't done it yet. You ever wonder why?" He said. Will tightened his fists. Eve elbowed Doomskull, and Oberon, who was sitting on Doomskull's other side, elbowed him too. Will began to speak, but Kora came in and interrupted the conflict.

"Well, thanks to you Will, the weapons were in a good enough condition to be mass produced." Kora said, handing the team their new weapons. Doomskull declined the offer.

"I got enough firepower right here," He said, hefting his Warmaster hammer. Kora looked at him weird, but shrugged.

"I guess you don't want the Ballistics-Mod Mjolnir Hammer I have in the back." She started walking away. Doomskull's eyes widened, and he chased after her.

"Hey, wait up! I changed my mind, ok?"

*****The Clockworks, Depth 23*****

Will and the team descended, the air getting hot and musty as they got closer and closer to the Gremlin fortress. The fortress itself was a thing of steel and fire, smoke billowing from the towering smokestacks. Gremlins were patrolling the bridge to the compound. Will looked for any vantage points to attack from. Then he saw a cliff in the distance. He motioned at Nick to get there. Nick hefted his new sniper rifle, and started climbing to the cliff. Eve unfolded Oberon to help Will and Doomskull with the frontal attack.

"On my command..." Will whispered into the comm. "Fire!" Nick sniped the first Gremlin, its head shattering into a bloom of red, Will, Doomskull, and Oberon charged forward, cutting a swathe through enemy forces.

Will slashed a Gremlin's arm off, and kicked it over the side of the bridge. Another Thwacker tried to strike him from behind, but Will parried it, and stuck the Gremlin on his sword. A demo threw a bomb at him, but Will was ready. His new sword crackled with energy, and the bomb melted when it touched the energy field generated by the sword. Will rushed at the demo, and decapitated him.

Doomskull slammed his hammer into the ground, the sonic boom launching several Gremlins into the air. He rammed the butt of the hammer into a Gremlin behind him, and spun around, hitting it with the hammer and sending him flying off the bridge. As more Gremlins charged, his hammer started to pulse, and a searing hot beam of light incinerated everything before it. Soon the Gremlin forces at the bridge were decimated, but an alarm rung through the compound. They would be preparing for them inside.

The team cautiously walked into the compound, which was suspiciously quiet. Eve unholstered her pistol. They silently crept down the hall, their steps making echoes. Little did they know, they were being watched. A hand banged against the wall, sending a loud clanging sound through the hall. Its cause swiftly fled into another room. The defense systems were triggered, and Mechanized Howlitzers emerged from the walls. Will activated his shield again, the barrage of bullets pinging off the shield. But the sword grew hot in hand.

"MOVE!" He ordered. They ran down the hallway, the Howlitzers firing like hell. As they made it to the door, Nick rolled a grenade behind them, and when the door closed shut, a bang was heard. The firing stopped.

Behind them was a whole prison complex, but there was no screaming, no clanging of flesh against bars. Gremlin corpses lined the floor, looking as if something sided them open with-talons? Once more it was quiet. Will looked around, trying to spot if the Recon team was around here somewhere. A dark figure flew into a cell at the highest point in the prison complex. It's wings folded back into the armor she was wearing. Her black Armor of the Fallen clinked quietly as she strode towards the half dead Recon team, chained to the wall.

The only conscious member lifted his head up, squinting through his one good eye, as the Gremlins had taken his other one. He spat at the stranger.

"I knew we could't trust you." He rasped. The woman held the man's head up, inspecting his face.

"I had to do it, you were in my way." She replied, her voice calm. It was calm, but it was like staring at a glass wall. Something terrible was behind the glass. Something unpredictable.

'I did it for my brother.' She thought to herself. But even before her choice, she began to question her motives. Was it really for him? She cleared these thoughts from her mind, they weren't important right now.

"I need information." She continued, her hand tightening on the knight's chin. "Where is the Apocrean Cannon?" The Recon knight laughed.

"That doesn't exist."

Down below, Will heard a faint chuckle of laughter above. He looked at the highest cell, and knew it was coming from there.

"Sentience up there, be cautious." Will unholstered his Valiance and crept up the stairs towards the cell. The stranger growled.

"Liar." She snarled. "I was there at the Intel Center. My ears bled, and I will never forget that sound." The Recon Ranger's smile dropped off his face, and the stranger smiled triumphantly. The Recon Ranger sighed.

"That's supposed to be classified information. How did you-" She stopped him.

"I have my ways. Now tell me."

"It's on depth 30."

"There is no-"

"Yes there is. It was sealed off long ago by them. You know, THEM." Said the Recon Ranger. The stranger sighed.

'Getting there won't be as easy then.' She thought. "Thanks anyway." As she was about to walk away, the Ranger stopped her.

"Madea? Don't be a stranger." He said wistfully. Madea smiled a half smile back.

"Don't worry. I won't." A split second later, the Ranger's head snapped, and Madea wiped the blood off her hands. "Sorry Sigil. You would've told." Just as her wings unfolded again, Will stood in the doorway, pointing his gun at Madea. Doomskull, Eve, and Nick did the same.

"I saw you kill that Ranger." Will said, his hands trembling in rage. "Surrender now, and you will be taken into custody for tr-" Madea screeched at them, sounding more like some sort of bird than an Isoran. Her wings spread out in full, making her look like an angel of death. A mighty gust, accompanied by the sting of iron in flesh, blinded Will and his team. The female knight was gone. Will pulled one of the iron feathers out of his arm, and wondered.

"I think I've seen her before…"

*****Spiral Order HQ*****

Will stood before the Spiral Order.

'They look so imposing from up in their high chairs. But down here, they're just other knights. What gave them the power to decide who did what? Why didn't they make me-' Will was interrupted when the official asked him a question.

"I said, what did you find out at the Gremlin base, Defender Elite Soran?" Will nodded.

"The Recon Team was dead. The last surviving member was killed by a winged knight." The officials murmured amongst themselves.

"Leave us, Soran. You should head to the base and assist the knights being attacked by wolvers, they're low on morale and supplies." They dismissed him. As Will left the conference room, Doomskull followed next to him.

"I heard what they said, and I think it's bogus." Doomskull said. He put his hand on his shoulder. "Hear me out. I think we should investigate that knight we saw. She could be real dangerous in the future." Will sighed.

"Look, I don't-" Doomskull stopped him.

"We need to do this."

Choice:
A. Investigate Madea.
B. Assist the now desperate knights being attacked by wolvers.
